41  Local / Brasil / Re: NEGOCIECOINS FALINDO? on: May 25, 2019, 12:16:48 PM

46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin" is now a registered trademark in the UK on: May 22, 2019, 02:22:21 AM
Dr. Craig has now been issued a fully vetted certificate of copyright by US Government Copyright office.
This can not be contested unless you have standing so this is now firm.
Dr. Craig has not applied today, he did that months back.

This is so stupid. Why does he seek so much to prove in justice that he is Satoshi? For that reason it does not prove anything more substantial, as any person who believes in cryptography would. He wants the recognition of those who have no idea what Bitcoin is. The same recognition that TV personalities receive.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright, BTC USA Copy Rights/Patent Troll: What is his 'Endgame'? on: May 22, 2019, 02:09:13 AM
Crazy people sometimes repeat so much a lie that they end up believing it to be true. And believing it to be true, they end up dragging some followers by the passion with which they defend these lies.

Not Satoshi. No Fund. Chaos!
48  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-15] Crytopia Opts for Liquidation Binance for Upgrade on: May 22, 2019, 01:55:16 AM
Cryptopia was not very comfortable with trading and holding Ethereum in its platform. That's why Ether was once delisted from Cryptopia. They always claimed that ETH was very vulnerable to hacking and Cryptopia didn't wanted to hold ETH or tokens from the users. But Cryptopia had to list that coin again as the customers demanded it and petitioned for its inclusion. And in the end, ETH relisting resulted in the complete liquidation of the exchange.

Do you have the link that supports what you say? Who said that would not want to list ETH? One of the owners? Or is it just a guess?

I find this claim quite curious. I do not think it could be true, I believe that all the exchanges in the list of the 100 largest have ETH. This is not a problem of the coin, but of failure in the security of the company.
49  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-21] You may need to provide a blood sample to withdraw btc from HitBTC on: May 22, 2019, 01:30:54 AM
Their fees are also absurdly high for withdrawals. It's been quite a few years now that it's pretty obvious that they do not have enough liquidity for all deposits. I do not remember seeing a cold wallet of them. In addition they possess an unbelievable amount of shitcoins without any liquidity.

But I do not think it's an exit scam. It's just a horrible exchange.
50  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-21] Argentina: Bitcoin Bought at $20K Retained More Value Than the Peso on: May 22, 2019, 01:21:51 AM
In both Argentina and Brazil, it is easier to buy Bitcoin than to buy dollars for ordinary citizens. Usually dolar has several quotes that vary a lot and it is necessary to buy physically. That is, you need to go to a place with enough fiat and buy the desired amount of dollars.

Bitcoin shows to be a tremendous advance for countries with unstable economies.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is there anyway to short Bitcoin SV? on: May 22, 2019, 01:07:22 AM
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin-sv

Is there any exchange where I could transfer BTC and short Bitcoin SV using a leverage of at leats 10x? Without KYC or things like that. It is just stupid people buying because th fake satoshi want to  Copyright Bitcoin whitePaper. I do not have a lot, but it would be awsome gains.

52  Other / Archival / Re: negociecoins, a maior corretora do mundo (kk) bloqueia saques de real e btc on: May 22, 2019, 12:03:52 AM

Todas as principais tiveram contas canceladas, processos etc. Pode ser algo passageiro, ou pode ser uma merda grande. Mas pra quem tá em buy+Hodl+buy to ∞, talvez uma crise poderia criar um ágio negativo.

Up to 5x margin & 50x futures trading

Is there any possibility of this need for funds being aimed at a greater supply of assets being offered with greater leverage? Perhaps aiming to compete with BitMex? Binance is also looking to offer a number of products of this type, and for that, they plans to create a new fund. Or is any fund raising at the moment, through exchanges, solely because they do not have sufficient liquidity?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The blockchain ecosystem has a patch problem on: May 21, 2019, 02:36:39 AM

Security Research Labs:

Many Ethereum nodes running popular clients like Parity and Geth take months to apply security patches, which may leave the network vulnerable to 51% attacks

https://srlabs.de/bites/blockchain_patch_gap/

SRLabs research suggests that security vulnerabilities remain unpatched for many Ethereum blockchain participants for extended periods of time, putting the blockchain ecosystem at risk.

Crypto currencies provide a popular alternative to centralized payment systems, and promise transactions between mutually anonymous parties, often called “trustless” transactions. More specifically, blockchain participants rely on a majority of participants taking rational actions, rather than having to rely on a single banking institution or government. However, the required rational actions seem to extend beyond what many blockchain users are willing to do. In particular, we found early evidence that blockchain participants do not sufficiently patch and hence carry known vulnerabilities.

A month after its release, a critical security patch has not reached a third of Parity Ethereum nodes.

Ethereum is a cryptocurrency realized through a peer-to-peer network. With a market capitalization in excess of USD 19 billion, Ethereum is a highly attractive target for hackers.

Each participant needs a software client to access the Ethereum network: The most common choices are Parity-Ethereum (Parity) and Go-Ethereum (Geth).

Ethereum relies on high availability to prevent double spending. A hacker who controls more than 51% of the computational power in the network can double spend coins, enriching the hacker and undermining the trust in the ecosystem. If a hacker can crash a large number of nodes, controlling 51% of the network becomes easier. Hence, software crashes are a serious security concern for blockchain nodes (unlike in other pieces of software where the hacker does not usually benefit from a crash).

For that reason, denial of service vulnerabilities have a particularly high severity in cryptocurrency networks; they can be used to massively reduce the amount of computational power needed to perform a 51% attack and double-spend. Ethereum has to rely on the node software to be very hard to crash remotely. However, creating perfect software is near impossible and bugs that allow for remote crashes appear from time to time in blockchain clients.

Unpatched Parity Ethereum nodes can be remotely crashed. In February 2019, we reported a vulnerability in the Parity Ethereum client that could be used to remotely crash any Parity Ethereum node prior to version 2.2.10. The crash is caused by an integer overflow during chain synchronization between two nodes, which can be remotely triggered. Since every node accepts such connection requests to stay synchronized with the main network, the vulnerability allows an attacker to crash any unpatched Parity node active in the Ethereum network.

This is quite serious. In early versions of Bitcoin there was a kind of alert, which could be emitted by satoshi. Today, all blockchain are extremely dependent on scattered information. And many do not download the latest updated version.
55  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is this Kraken e-mail for real? on: May 21, 2019, 01:51:31 AM
I also received this email. I searched for information about this BnK and found little information about it. I found the website very strange, it does not seem to be the site of a serious company that moves millions.

But the proposal is quite interesting, I like Kraken and I believe it has enormous potential. And it's official according to Kraken's twitter.

56  Other / Meta / Re: Give good posters amnesty on: May 21, 2019, 12:56:07 AM
I can only see plagiarism in academic production or in journalism. Here in the forum what happens is copy and paste because of the laziness of the users, and this generates spam. Spam is bad, it diminishes the quality of discussions and debates, and it is excellent that the forum is working to reduce it. But banning users who already contribute to the forum with high quality posts and topics and, more importantly, make Bitcoin something of their day to day, does not seem the best choice. And much of this quality content is produced thanks to the incentives offered by some signature campaigns, such as the chipmixer.

The forum loses more than it earns. 2 months ban would already be enough for any member who has contributed positively to the forum. And then he could continue with their normal account, if he repeated the behavior, he would be punished more severely. If this Bot is really as good at detecting such cases as it appears to be, no one else would repeat this behavior. And the forum would not lose these members.
57  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-20] Poloniex delists 9 cryptos for U.S. traders, they may be securities on: May 20, 2019, 03:36:06 PM
That is not a problem with Poloniex. People are talking like that they have made a mistake or something. They are only following the us law. Probably all the others exchanges that operate in Us will have to make the same. Bittrex has created the international version to scape this rule.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOST more news strategic Patnership with Singapore Government on: May 20, 2019, 03:06:17 PM
This looks more like shill than real news. And to be honest, I do not think partnership with government is a great think. It only shows that the project could be centralized and controlled by a small group of people. Bitcoin would never do such thing
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Exit Scam on: May 20, 2019, 12:06:38 AM
In the news they put the link of a topic here of BitcoinTalk. This is very important for the forum, to demonstrate that it is still used for serious discussions and investigations on these scams.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3735010.0

Funny that the person who start the topic have a negative reputation because it could be a sold account.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO FOR THE HOMELESS - DUNKIN DONUTS LIKES US TOO!!!! (discounted me too!) on: May 19, 2019, 11:47:05 PM
This topic needs to be locked. It's probably a scam attempt. As others have said, donations are the same and have already been used in other situations. If you want to help someone with cryptos donations, teach them how simple it is to create a wallet where they, and only they, have access to privates keys. Many of them have cell phones that could be used for this.
