I Added software SRB 1.6.4 Set up as auto download see screenshots.  However I cannot config the software on profit profile. @Patrike
Awesome Miner only shows these configuration sections for the predefined SRBminer. I will make the change to also show these sections if you add your own user defined miner that is based on SRBminer. Thanks for pointing this out.
2502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 14, 2018, 09:32:00 PM
For the coin ZERO (ZER) in the EWBF miner 0.3 there is not enough parameter "--pers ZERO_PoW"

Please add this option in the next version.

I temporarily added this parameter to the advanced pool settings.
Right now Awesome Miner is only adding parameters based on the algorithm, and not on a specific coin. With the introduction of all Equihash variants this might have to change - so I do understand your point here. It will probably not be in the next version already, but I will try to find a good way of supporting this. Thanks for your feedback!
2503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 14, 2018, 09:29:47 PM
Another possible bug:  If I set a managed miner's algo to "unspecified/multi" using Cast XMR it is still sending the --algo command line parameter of the last algo I was using, therefore I can't override it with a different algo using the command line option of the managed miner's configuration.  You really need to add Cryptonight-Fast as an algorithm choice.
Your observation about --algo flag not being able to be overridden is correct. I will make that possible in the next release.

With a recent version of Awesome Miner, it already supports adding --algo 8 for Cryptonight-Fast.
2504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 14, 2018, 09:09:27 PM
The profit display for a user-defined coin does not work when the coin algo is set to "unspecified/multi".

I tried a test using these numbers:

Difficulty: 100,000,000
Block Reward: 10
Value in BTC: 1

Hash rate:  12.5 kh

Profit per day:  $0.00016

That makes no sense.   If I change to some specific algo the profit calc works.  In both cases the algo on the managed miner was set to "unspecified/multi".  This isn't a big problem but it does seem to be a bug unless I'm overlooking something.

Those calculations should be correct for all coins except some Equihash and Cryptonight coins. If you use these values for something like BTC, LTC, Dash or almost any other coin, you will get $0.00016 per day.

Need to add Cryptonight-Fast as an algorithm.
This one is included since a few versions ago. Please check if it's made visible in the Options dialog, Algorithms section.

I have a question about the SMTP notifications, if the awesome miner fails to send a notification email for some reason, is there a way for the program to resend it
Right now there is no resend feature for outgoing mail.

Hi Patrike. Looks like your advice helped with my issue with AM forgetting the locations of my custom miners. The file location was marked as read only in windows. I changed it but it kept changing back. I had to use a tutorial I googled to get the changes to stick, apparently some windows update screwed up windows for everyone it installed for. I always disable updates, but I do let it run once on a new install, and I guess that's what happened. Anyways, I had a good idea, not sure, but it might be an easy one. So about the field that you created in online services that keeps track of pool performance, is it possible for it to show numbers above 100%? That could make it more accurate. Thanks for all your help, and for creating a superb program!
Hello Patrike. So, unfortunately my problem returned. Everything was fine for like 10 days, and then I updated AM, and immediately after AM restarted it forgot all my changes again. So as far as what I did before with windows, the tutorial I read online told me I had to regain ownership of the folders (the whole drive as a matter of fact) then remove the checkbox in file explorer for read only. The thing that is really annoying is that the box still shows up as checked no matter what, (even if the drive is no longer read only) and other Windows users have confirmed this, but I am now able to add or delete files after following the tutorial. I believe the last time AM forgot my settings was right after another AM software update. If AM is able to update it's software why would it be unable to update the config file? Another interesting side note is that AM is remembering some things I've changed. For instance I changed a couple of my wallet addresses and those haven't reverted back when AM forgets the other items. I'm a bit frustrated at this point, every time it happens, at this point I basically have a config file in my head. (Ok, here we go again, point to excavator, point to nevermore, point to ccminer, point to claymore cryptonight miner, delete Baikal cube miner, update ip address of Baikal A900) Any other ideas you have will be greatly appreciated, I just want to keep the miner running. Thanks.
It sounds like the Windows system have some strange behaviors here. Are you running any security software that causes these issues?

Awesome Miner is not using the same folder for upgrades as for the configuration file. If the user roaming folder where the configuration file is located is set to read-only, Awesome Miner will run into issues saving the configuration.

If you have a specific time where you think Awesome Miner did something wrong, please send me the log file by mail and indicate the time of the issue.

not sure if this has been address, but i have 14 managed miners, but only the gpu names on the first miner shows up.   All rigs have 1080 ti's (Same msi 1080 ti cards).

On some systems, you need to update the MSI Afterburner Remote Server dll-file according to the instructions in the section "Updated Remote Server DLL-file" at the bottom of this page:

2509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 14, 2018, 08:46:36 PM
Let me see if I follow... you have Awesome Miner installed on a separate computer from your rig... or are they on the same computer?  If they are on the same computer, your computer may have rebooted, and that's why it appears that they have both stopped.  You can enable a feature  to start Awesome Miner to start when windows starts under the General options.

Your last sentence makes it sound like you moved the Awesome Miner program to another computer and you are still having this problem?  Did you install the Remote Service on your rig?
yes, i install the remote service on my rig.  i change my main awesome from laptop to pc. when on laptop awesome running well. after i change to pc then prob come, i use same registration code on my new pc.

Is your PC crashing and rebooting?
no, my rig was standby. n at awesome main, statt for my rig is stopping. must to close awesome main first before i restart my rig
Is it that you have two Awesome Miner main applications running, both connected to the same Remote Agent? Are there three computers involved here, a mining rig, your laptop and your desktop PC? What's installed in terms of Awesome Miner main application and Remote Agent on each of these?

Hi.

I tried to reproduce the issue by defining a Device Profile where I set "Max Fan Speed" to 66. I referenced this device profile from a Managed Miner that is based on Claymore Ethereum. When I start the mining software, I do see that "-fanmax 66" is being added to the command line.

Is there a specific property from the device profile that isn't passed correctly? Are you running with a Managed Miner or Managed Profit Miner? Please let me know as it might be of help in trying to find the specific issue you run into.

Hello, patrike!

See screenshots below:

https://ibb.co/g3eWNT Device Profile Settings
https://ibb.co/fW1NU8 Managed Miner Properties
https://ibb.co/j9cwp8 Details ver 5.3
https://ibb.co/mqhkhT Details ver 5.2.2

I did not change setup of a profile of the device neither before up-dating nor after up-dating of the program. Therefore a problem definitely not in incorrect values of my parameters. The problem arises only in case of up-dating of the version of the Awesome Miner Remote Agent program installed on the device. In version 5.2.2 everything works, in version 5.3 - does not work. The version of the main Awesome Miner program does not matter.
Thanks for the update. I will try to reproduce again.
2511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 11, 2018, 07:57:40 AM
I've been thinking a lot about AW and it's a great software that requires a lot of attention, but it has a huge weak point.

They are the Benchmark that are made by protocol. I can see that I have a different HASH in two coins of the same protocol. It is very noticeable, I mino much neoscrypt, the same rig for a coin can give 5mhs, but for another currency neoscrypt can give a rate of 7 mhs.

Then thinking one realizes that it does not make sense that the switch is done only by the hash of the protocol, that's fine for the pools type Zpool and auto change.

But if I have 80 coins added, I need to know the hash for each of them, because although many are from the same protocol, they get different hashes. This difference can be by the ping, it can be by the stratum, by configuration of the Vardiff etc ...

Consequently, it would not be unreasonable PAtrike that you are considering in your programming that we can also save the hash for currency, and that this is the one chosen to make the Auto Switch.

I think the problem is perfectly understood, and is the culprit that some currency changes are worse instead of better, something that should not happen, and that only happens because of what I just commented.

A program of this price and this level, with so many added functions (and many other bugs), should be closer to the reality of each currency, being able to obtain that hash per currency / pool, instead of only Protocol HASH, which in the end it is not precise at all.
Just a thought (I've not explored this idea in detail) - if there are unique cases where you have one algorithm with two coins that perform different. Maybe it could be possible to add one of them as its own user defined algorithm, like NeoscryptX where you could force a coin to belong to this algorithm instead, and configure the mining software to handle NeoscryptX just like Neoscrypt. You could then benchmark it individually. Again, I've not really tested a setup like this, just sharing some ideas.

It's a quite special scenario here, so it might not make sense to redesign the entire profit switcher to handle individual coins if this only happens to a very few coins for very few users.

Ok.. ever since I used the free version of awesome miner (now on enterprise version ), Ive always wondered one thing.... Why is not ALL of the coin information on ALL coins entered and automatically updated? I mean, lets get honest, to maximize profits, a user would have to fill out ALL of the stats for all of the coins, and even find the pool with highest hash rates. This would take WEEKS.  Im SURE this could be done automatically with awesome miner.  I know there is a free plugin for awesome miner, but as its free, its very quirky, and even then, leaves tons of coins without data. Can someone please explain?

Vegas

I think Patrike has done a fine job adding new coins as they become popular.  You have to realize that Awesome Miner has to depend on outside resources to get accurate coin data.  Many websites can't even agree on that data, so you have to strike a balance of quality versus quantity.

The plugin that Sootha created works really well, and I've contributed a couple of very large config.json files to the thread.  The problem is that most coins end up dying, and more importantly, their explorers go dead, or the coin gets deslisted, etc.
First of all, welcome back puwaha!

You are correct that Awesome Miner depends on sources like WhatToMine.com and Coincalculators.io here, and once coins are added to their sites it automatically shows up in Awesome Miner as well. It's a significant effort (at least a part time job) if I would have to keep up with all coins, block explorers and exchanges myself. I do appreciate these community efforts and everyone contributing to make the overall mining experience better.

Could you please change the "update remote" right-click option to be available on the group level at all times?  Would be much more convenient than having to update each miner individually.  Right now it appears to be available only if all miners are enabled and out of date.  If even one miner is disabled or offline the option is not available.

Yes, this is a very small change and I've had other users pointing out the same. This will be supported in one of the next releases.
2514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 11, 2018, 07:44:28 AM
1. There a way to backup all the custom info we have inputed into the software for re installation purposes?

2. Do you think having mining for "X amount of time each pool" will be in this programs future?

3. Is there anyway to change the gray text for the time active under the hash rate from gray to a more legible color? Or at least be able to customize it. When there is an update needed the red text is fantastic and very clear to read. I kinda dont like updating it because it makes it so much easier to read. Though I have old eyes.

4. Do you think "Dark Mode" will be in this programs future?
1) Awesome Miner stores all configuration in the file ConfigData.xml located in the folder %appdata%\AwesomeMiner. To copy the configuration from one computer to another, make sure that Awesome Miner isn't running and copy the file ConfigData.xml to the other computer.

2) Yes, that will be added in the future.

3) It's not configurable today, but I do know that some users use the "Customize Progress Field" feature to put the uptime in the progress field and configure it to have different colors depending on if the uptime is low or not.

4) That might get supported, but it's not prioritized right now. Today you can change the color theme, but the miner list is still white. I assume it's these white areas you want in a darker color as well.

Configured command line:
 -i 15 --p d=1024
My guess is that "--p" should be "-p"
2516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 11, 2018, 07:35:52 AM
patrike,

Hello! New user / "Premium Edition" licensee.

I'm managing Z9s.

I've added the Z9s, set the default pools, set up API access, enabled auto-detect of ant miners...

The basic monitoring is working, however I'm unable to switch pools. When I try to switch pools by selecting a miner, right clicking, and choosing the new pool in the list, the miner goes offline as it appears to be reconfiguring, but it comes back up with whatever the first pool is every time.

If I manually send a "switchpool" command to the miners, it switches immediately without going offline and AwesomeMiner seems to show the change quickly.

I assume I'm missing something configuration wise for being able to switch it from awesome miner itself (not worried about profit switching yet, just want to get the basic functionalities going). This is with version 5.3.

So, 2 questions:

1) If "switchpool" works when I send it manually, what else is required on the Z9 configuration beyond (A) enabling API access, (B) configuring pools under Options->Pools [not pool groups], (C) Under Antminer->Default Pools, configuring the pools from B in the menu, and then (D) trying to manually change the running pool on each Z9 (or the group of, but still), (E) setting each miner for equihash algorithm and cgminer compatible

2) In the log file, there is an error I am not sure how to track down that may be related:

Here is a snippet:

Code:

As an aside, here's an interesting Z9 cgminer bug(?).. asking for the details of 'coin' via the API says that the hash method is sha256 despite it being an equihash device.

Code:
{"STATUS":[{"STATUS":"S","When":1531231620,"Code":78,"Msg":"CGMiner coin","Description":"cgminer 4.9.0"}],"COIN":[{"Hash Method":"sha256","Current Block Time":1531206055.763028,"Current Block Hash":"0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000","LP":true,"Network Difficulty":nan}],"id":1}

Thank you!

Thanks for all details. This is a unique behavior on the Z9 miner and you are correct that it's actually a bug in the API output from the miner itself. One of the API methods called "coins" is used by Awesome Miner to get the Network Difficulty from the ASIC miner. It's probably the least important of all API calls. The Z9 miner is responding with a invalid JSON format that simply cannot be parsed correctly. Awesome Miner considers the miner to not be working when this happens, but it should instead ignore the issue and move on.

I had a similar report yesterday from another Z9 user where it also started to act up after performing some pool operation. Thanks to your details here as well, I'm confident about the scenario now.

In the next update of Awesome Miner I will simply let Awesome Miner continue with all other API requests even if this one isn't valid. You can expect a new release within the next few days.

About the "sha256" part, there are actually many non-sha256 miners that do report sha256 here for some reason. This information is however not used by Awesome Miner.

I use Claymore Dual GPU Miner 11.8. In the new Awesome Miner 5.3 version parameters of tuning of video cards from Device Profiles are not inserted into command line arguments of the Claymore Miner program any more!!!!  Undecided Because of it video cards overheat, lose productivity and glitch.  Cry

Rollback on Awesome Miner and Awesome Miner Remote Agent to version 5.2.2 solves a problem.

Please, correct it!

Hi there,

i have a problem with profit-switching (asic)
if i view details and activate the Profit switching Tab - on this Tab AM shows me a negative Profit per day (and so never switch to that pool)
but if i manualy prioritize this pool (mining-dutch.nl) AM shows me a positive profit - i tried to raise the Profit factor in Pool Properties to 100 - but nothing changes?!

somebody an idea?

BR Ralf
Are you running Awesome Miner version 5.1? The View details dialog is based on the hashrates configured in your profit profile - and this hashrate is listed in the same table. The miner list uses the actual hashrate and the first value is the revenue, not profit.

Hi Patrik,

i am using Version 5.3. and the hashrate in the configured profile is about the same than the real hashrate. yes - the revenue and the profit are very positive if i manualy prioritize the pool - but in the view details the profit per day is way negative?!

BR Ralf
Hi Ralf,
I think I need to see some screenshots on this scenario, to get the complete picture of what View Details are showing compared to the miners list. Can you please send me by e-mail? Thanks!
2520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 10, 2018, 10:01:33 AM
Hi Patrik,

since we have updated AM to Version 5.2.5, we have the issue, that many of our Antminer L3+ cannot be controlled through API commands (and so the Profit-Switching is not working anymore) the miner shows API Access: Privileged in the Summary Tab - but cannot be for example restarted through AM?!
we tried also to Configure API access through the AM-Tools - the program returns OK - but nothing changes...

do you have an idea?!

BR Ralf
Hi Ralf,

If you select a miner, is it that toolbar buttons like Restart and similar is disabled? That can happen in two scenarios:

1) The miner is Restricted API mode. You have however already confirmed that it's Privileged API.

2) Awesome Miner is busy sending other commands to this miner. It can be that you have defined a rule that constantly sends commands to this miner. You can typically detect this by looking in the Awesome Miner log file (toolbar: Tools -> Log File), where you will fine entries saying "Rule execute" and possible additional information about what commands that are being sent to the miners.

Hi Patrik,

thank you very much!! it was a rule - actually i tried to resolve a problem with Antminer A3-Miners - they go offline sometimes (maybe all 2 to 3 days once) and when i reboot them from the browser - or when i go to tools-antminer and choose configure api access again - the miner reboots and afterwards working again...
i tried to make a rule, where i go through API-Command restart (*) - would actually working - but i don't find the right event to trigger the rule?! do you have a suggestion??

BR Ralf
The Miner Command can send a reboot command to the mining process, but based on your description it sounds like it's really a reboot you want. Use the "SSH Command" action and specify Reboot.
You can use the predefined rule called "Offline Detection" and define an action to reboot.

Hi Patrik,

the rule is not working - it is still sending an email when the miner goes offline but the reboot don't work. i cannot reboot the mainer at the main-tab either - the only way is to configure API access throgh the Tools-Tab-Antminer Function - then the miner reboots and work again?!

BR Ralf
For the reboot rule that doesn't execute: Please verify that the correct SSH password is used for the rule. The default SSH credentials are root / admin, and this is not the same as to the Antminer web interface. You can open the Awesome Miner log file (toolbar: Tools -> Log File) and search for "SSH Logging in". It might be that the Antminer is responding with "A supplied password or user name is incorrect".
