1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THC][1.7] The Hempcoin (THC) ✿ UPGRADED POW/POS ✿ Spread the Seeds ✿ EPIC on: January 08, 2015, 03:02:05 PM
Happy New Year Hempcoininas !!

I have noticed some rather small auto payouts on the pool, they are creating A LOT of transactions and I suspect might be leading to the cron job failures that have been happening.
The pool has received over 2400 THC in tx fees alone, thats 24,000 transactions in our blockchain. :-(

I will be increasing the minimum withdraw to 500 hempconis soon, I believe this should be good.  I would suggest that most should set this even higher than this.  I understand the reason for setting lower payouts on a new and un-trusted pool, but I hope that I proved that I am not going anywhere and in the very unlikely event something happens, I will payout all coins from my own pocket.

I would think setting your auto-withdraw to happen 6 times a day or less is very reasonable.  I set my auto withdraw so it happens once or twice a day on respectable pools.

Anyways, for those still mining on the pool, thanks for sticking with us through these hard times.  I have a feeling it will pay off very well, the prices are definitely not going to stay this low for much longer.

I am excited to get POS working again !!  That should give the price a good jump, and look at all the cheap coins on the market, over 3.5 M available under 40 satoshi. WOW !
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ϟ The Tesla ϟ..OFFICIAL on: January 06, 2015, 04:34:19 AM
I'd like to make a request for the next version of the wallet.  Perhaps, removing 4 month old transactions that were not accepted by the network, from the transactions list?  Would be nice if it didn't spend 99.999999% of its time while "staking" frozen as a program and prohibit doing anything within the program.  Then again, I understand that that is probably associated with how many staked transactions I have and probably not an easy fix, though the first thing would, I think, at least help.

Teslacoin, I think, will continue to be an interesting cryptocurrency.

I had the same thing happen, I ended up loading my wallet.dat into the linux daemon (which ran smoothly ) and then sent my coins back over to a fresh wallet.dat on my windows PC.  My wallet runs perfectly now.  If you send your coins back shortly after they stake, you wont lose much interest either.

I agree a fix is needed, but this will at least save you the frustration in the meantime.

As for the not accepted transactions, I don't think a wallet update can fix that, pretty sure its part of your wallet.dat file.

The way to get rid of those transactions (at least, I think it should) is to do a dumpprivkey for EACH address in your wallet and then importprivkey each one into a new wallet.dat.  I have never done this before but I think it takes a long time.
** always backup your original wallet.dat FIRST.

EDIT: found a tutorial if your interested.  ( don't get confused by the title, the process is the same)

Merry christmas all !!

yep, cron issues on the pool again... :-( sorry.

wallet and stratum are still up, so you can still mine away.  ill fix the crons later tonight or tomorrow morning.

back in business, sorry for the delay.  all should be up to date, let me know if you notice any issues.

both price and network hash rate have dropped quite a bit, good time to get some cheap hempcoin.

Merry Christmas Hempcoinians !!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

There were some issues on the pool as I see most of you noticed.

Everything has been resolved and is back working again.

Any blocks found during the downtime have been credited out.

Rest assured anytime this happens, your shares are safe and will get credited.  It is always the front end that has problems, the stratum and daemon are always running smoothly.

interesting enough, the orphan block was a bonus block ( 875 ).  First time I have seen a bonus block orphan.

nope, dont worry, the pool has not forked.  just another cron issue.

Best way to verify if the pool has forked is to compare the block explorer with the "current block" value on the dashboard of the pool.  This value is pulled directly from the wallet and is thus not affecting by cron issues.

Don't worry, all will be good, the pool is currently catching up.  I will send another update once all looks good.

Sorry for not acting sooner, just noticed i had 3 emails sent from the pool while I slept last night.

cleaning up the mess the crons made is a bit more tedious than I thought.... I am still working on it.

Rest assured your miners are still hashing away and finding blocks, its just not propagating to the website yet.  once its resolved I will let you all know.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience.

Pool is back up and everything seems better now.  I was getting discouraged on my last message and was expecting it to take up most my evening... but then had a lightbulb moment...

for anyone thats interested, heres what happened.

- crons messed up  ( I still cant figure out why, but oh well )
- I ran the crons that failed manually with force option, this ussually fixes crons issues.
- cron picked up a double payout... ( really it found two blocks with same height )  [ one was an orphan ]
- manually removed the second occurence of the block in the DB
- re-ran the crons and got php error outputs
- started googling
- continued googling, started to smash head on keyboard.
- went to ask for help, but before I finished the message... light bulb moment.....
- the block I deleted from the database, was actually the good block, not the orphan.
- re-manipulated DB with proper good block
- re-ran crons, et voila !!!

I will keep an eye on things for a bit, but dont expect any issues.

If you notice any mised payouts (common problem when crons fail), let me know and I will look into it.

Thanks all.

I initially had issues getting ubuntu to run a script on startup, but found a way to get it to work.

Have a look under System > Preferences > Startup Applications

enter the path to the script here. you should be able to unlock for staking only in your scrypt too...

its something like 'navajocoind walletpassphrase <your password> -stakingonly'

don't quote me on that, but the command is similar.  keep in mind your wallet password is now in a text file.

There is probably a better way to do this, however this worked for me.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ϟ The Tesla ϟ..OFFICIAL on: November 18, 2014, 02:03:10 PM
Valkir, no need to ''proof'' in fact. You will get all user's email, so you just need to set a massmailing action, and each user will have to answers with a valid TES adress for the withdraw.

Mailchimp is a good tool to help you with emailing.

I would suggest that you keep track of everything.

I can help if needed.

Of course I agree with the process for returning Tes from mintpal. I sure hope this is the case, as I am not sure how I could prove the address from Mintpal is mine, I can only give an account details and e-mail connected with it.

Looking forward to seeing my Tes again Smiley

Thanks soltantgris, that will make things much easier.

tiredofscams,

you are the only person who knows what your deposit address was for your Mintpal account, it is next to impossible to guess a valid address that was at Mintpal, so if the address you provide matches up then that is all the proof needed.  However since Valkir will have the email addresses, no proof is necessary, as soltantgris mentioned, you will just need to reply with a valid TES address to have your coins sent too.

Hi all

So I have talk with Ferdous and I will need the community approval to get the wallet.

This is how I see this.

1- I will get the wallet and the data about it.

2- With the help of all the foundation, I will send back all coin to the owner.

3- You will need a proof of you adress so that we can confirm that the coin are your.

So please approve it or propose a better way.

(ex: Valkir I agree with this.)

Thanks

Valkir

I agree 100%, this is great news !!

I thought I would never see my Mintpal TES again....

when you do ./navajoicoind on its own, its trying to start the daemon, i think it does nothing if already running.

if you do a ./navajocoind getinfo , you should be able to see all blockchain info including what block your wallet is on, compare with the block explorer to see if your in sync.

Hi Guys, I'm glad to see everyone is keeping active on the forum!

Rest assured that are always making progress. We are currently working on some great new features for the website and the wallet.

Stay tuned for the official announcements. There's plenty to look forward to this week!

Thanks for the update.

bringing back the discussion..... I really liked the idea of adding an ASIC-resistant scrypt to Hempcoin.

have it as 1/3 POS, 1/3 scrypt and 1/3 ASIC resistant algo.

There was some feedback earlier, but what does everyone else think ?

Once we get a good idea of what people want, we could start a vote or something similar.

with the price dropping at Bittrex, I think we need to bring back some much deserved attention to Hempcoin.  Although, I don't mind picking up a few cheap THC in the meantime... :-)

bocyaj

thanks

you should have it now, i had to manually split it up.

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on November 14th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.  Cry Cry

I emailed Bittrex about it.

must of worked, the message is now gone.  Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. :-)

ugh. Unrelated, but I absolutely HATE this passive aggressive statement that I see daily on submitted IT helpdesk tickets. I don't get to tell the users this at work, so i will let out my disapproval to you instead.

glad I could help.  however, that is not how I intended it, I was being sincere to Remy for answering my question, not implying that I was expecting a speedy response.  Reading over my post again, I probably should have started off with that.

I am in IT as well and feel your pain, I get a lot of overseas emails and their wording is 'please do the needful'.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - ●NEW BETA CLIENT●CHAT FEATURE●Projects in Development on: November 07, 2014, 09:24:40 PM
hmmm, so the StakeMaxAge is 1 day, but another value, let's call it CoinAge, is what the interest payments are based on.

ill have to dig deeper later, but at first glance, my oldest coins are currently 15 days old in a 'chunk' of about 1000 coins.  If they were to stake now, I would then expect to get about 8.2 coins.

I think the largest stake I have ever gotten is 2.5ish.

Has anyone else gotten much more than a 2.5 coin stake ?

Thanks for the quick reply. :-)
