Looks great !! I like it.

Really like this project.  Unique and different.  Why create another coin like everyone else, instead just harvest a failed one into something special.

Distributing coins via the faucet seems like it could be the fairest way to get the coins out there.  Whether you have a GPU warehouse, ASICS or nothing more than a laptop, you all have the same opportunity to get an even share of the coins.  Great idea !

We have been thinking about how to exactly roll the coins out of the faucet, here is what we got so far.  Please speak up with your thoughts/concerns/suggestions.

I really like the idea of giving out a percentage of the remaining coins in the faucet, this creates a gradual reduction in the release of coins over time which should gradually increase the value of the coin.

for the 1st week, the payout would be 0.001% of the remaining faucet balance per submission.
for the 2nd week, the payout would be 0.0015% of the remaining faucet balance per submission.
for the 3rd week, the payout would be 0.002% of the remaining faucet balance per submission.
for the 4th week, the payout would be 0.0025% of the remaining faucet balance per submission.
the payout would remain at 0.0025% until it gets to something really low like 2-5 coins and then the payouts would be linear until the well is dry.

I think this would get the coins out in a pretty steady rate.  The first payouts in week 1 would start at 1000 DBC.

Also thought it may be neat to add one or both of the following features:
- each submission to the faucet only gives you a chance to get a payout, would be a good chance like 1 in 2 or something.  Adds a degree of chance/luck to the process.
- have a small percentage of bonus payouts, these would pay you something like 5x what your payout should have been.

Please let me know what you think.

Really interested to see how this all works out.

Keeping a close eye here.

I just started solo mining HEMP today.

Found a good chunk of blocks so far and was waiting for my first bonus block...

I noticed I got what looked like an orphan block, so i confirmed via listtransactions that I did indeed get an orphan.

but to my surprise i noticed that I had found a bonus block worth 1750 just before the orphan.  however I do not see the block in the immature status in my wallet even though listtransactions shows it as immature.

"account" : "",
"category" : "immature",
"amount" : 1750.00000000,

"timereceived" : 1398368787

Any idea what the heck happened here ?

I see that cgminer is reporting a good number of getwork failures... not sure what causes them or what effect they have.  I have recieved GF on other coins when solo mining before and noticed that my expected payouts were quite low compared to what I would get on a pool, so i went with the pool on those coins.  but I am getting way better payouts solo-ing HEMP... so far I have found 16 blocks in under 2 hours with 2.6 MH/s.  could the GF's have anything to do with this ? still find it odd that it shows as immature in listtransactions.

I think I have seen similar instances of this before on other coins... but didn't actually see it happen, so never followed up on it.

Any help/explanation would be very much appreciated.

Thanks and really like hempcoin so far... apart from this mishap, but gonna stick with it and yes I have started voting on mintpal

keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Everything is good, bocyaj, look, not all coins of these 18Millions was distributed yet, some of them, about 5% stucked on cryptorush, other maybe about 3-5millions distributed already and left 12-15millions will be distributed later. Updated wallet will be like in other's coin wallet, no coins become lost after update, total amount will remain the same. "Old" and "new" coins are the same from the same pie.

Couldn't have explained it any better.

Thank you for the clarification.  I feel much better now.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] YinCoin YangCoin ☯☯ RELAUNCH First Ever POS/POW Alternator! Multipool! ☯ ☯ on: April 24, 2014, 05:56:21 PM
2 questions:

how are the old coins doing?

if i bought them, what happen when they relunch?

thx.

The old coins are still all in the market, except for some which are stuck on Cryptorush (Exact numbers will be given). Before relaunch and POS starts, all coins will be distributed somehow. At this point, distribution is still something we are figuring out how we want to approach. If you do buy some coins on Poloniex, then we do believe they will rise in price, but that is a risk that each person must make for themselves.

just found out about these coins today and decided to look into it.  Read through this thread and surprised no one has taken the above statement the way that I read it.

Nowhere here does it explicitly say the coins that I buy now on poloniex will be transferable to the new wallet after the re-launch.

"The old coins are still all in the market",  This just says the old coins are still out there and you can trade them on poloniex.  Nothing about what happens to them after the re-launch.
"all coins will be distributed somehow", I assume you mean the coins in cryptorush (guessing these are the orig launch premine ? why were they on cryptorush ?), but you say all coins.

I have never lost coins due to a wallet update, but this whole re-branding/re-launch makes me think the old coins may not be brought over to the new chain/fork or whatever is going to happen.

I am not trying to rain on anybody's parade here, but I am currently not comfortable enough on what is happening to go buy coins on Poloniex right now.  My guess is that I am not the only one that took it this way, just the first one to post on here about it.

btw i'm trying to sustain the network with some mh, but i'd love having some support, so if u have some spare cpu/gpu to help a bit before the fork, that'd be great Smiley

just pointed 400 kh/s at my wallet.  Hope it helps.  let me know if you really need more hash and I can throw my main rig at it for a bit, but would rather be mining something that I can trade for more blitz. :-)

Thanks.

I just noticed that I can't get my wallet to sync either.

I keep getting stuck at block 34208.

I tried updating the addnodes, didn't work.
I tried deleting my old DB and let it resync from scratch, didn't work.
I tried deleting my old DB and removing my wallet.dat, didn't work.  (made a copy of wallet.dat first of course)

out of ideas... I am gonna let it sit in the meantime and see if it finally updates.

Is the block that others were getting stuck on ?

Yup, 34208. Is Blitz a Dev-less coin at this point or what? Does anybody even know? Not assuming the worst or anything, but would be grateful for a heads-up from anyone somewhat on top of the situation.

finally got synced up... not exactly sure what the problem was, I may just of had to wait a couple hours....

It could have been because I removed all addnodes in the configuration file.... but not sure.  I have put the addnodes back in now and did a test to verify that I can still deposit coins to bittrex.

About multipool

Hi, I am very surprised at very low interest in the multipool. Actually only Bocyaj responded to my previous post with some comments, thank you for that.
The work on multipool is almost complete and the test version will be announced very soon. Then I will ask a few miners to participate in the test.

Unfortunately, without a community even a multipool won't change much as far as the price of the coin goes. Let's try to do our best bearing in mind the fact that BLITZ has similar parameters to BC. If the multipools works as intended and makes the  the price go up, maybe we will be lucky to find a committed developer to take care of our coin too.

Regards to all
Mr Nick

glad to hear MrNick.  was starting to think you lost interest due to lack of feedback on here.  Looking forward to testing it out.

Chango had offered to make a new wallet, but not sure if he is working on it as he didn't get much feedback either.

Thanks.
1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BLTZ] [IPO Hybrid] BlitzCoin | proof of concept coin | pure speculative on: April 14, 2014, 01:52:04 PM
Hello

For some time past I've been working on a multipool and can see a great opportunity if implemented for Blitz coin.
We all see success of Blackcoin and its soaring price. It was mentioned in this forum before that multipool would be a great idea, but it's been quiet now.
I have an experience in running pools which are successful.

The multipool is programmed from scratch, I didn't use ready software which other multipools use.

The things that have been done so far or which can be implemented swiftly are :
-1) At the moment user name for rigs is  a wallet address
How would you like it to be, shall it be left as such or would it be better for it to have a custom name ?

2) Workers. At the moment there is only one worker, all the rigs of one user work on one worker.
Do you want to have a possibility of adding more custom workers for your account ? I think that multiworkers are a better solutions .
The reason is that, In some situations a worker can be temporarily banned (for example because of large number of invalid shares), then automatically all mining rigs on this worker will be cut off for some time.
There will be a possibility to check hashrate for each worker and the percentage of valid and invalid shares

3) The process of mining and what you can see in your profile:
     a) There is a list of coins which we can point our main port to
     b) the coin that is currently mined is visible
     c) at each coin there is information about the number of coins that a person have already mined, (regularly updated)
          - the user will know how many coins have been sent to exchange for Blitz
     d) the history of all transactions made at a user's account will be visible to the user - fee, withdrawals, donations

4) Exchanges - I am currently doing it manually but working on the ways to do it automatically.

Things that still need to be worked on:
1) script for checking, taking information and saving it in database from sites such as  whatmine.com or a similar website. Maybe there is someone in here who already has it and would like to share.
2) automatic exchange

Test version of multipool will be ready in about 3 to 5 days. For a test we will be mining one of the most stable coins (which doesn't have to be the most profitable -  Here I am asking for suggestions)

We are able to mine most of scripts available out there. Which would you like to start with in the test phase ? Suggestions?

For a start of multipool the stratum servers will be located in Europe. After the test phase more stratum servers  will be located in the USA too.

I am looking forward to hearing your comments / suggestions / constructive criticism.

Regards,
MrNick

MrNick,

I am surprised you have not got much response from this.  I am not able to help out, but can offer my comments as a miner.

This is news many of us have been waiting for quite some time now.  I think your plan is awesome !!  I really like the idea of being able to see what is currently being mined.  If you could have all the same stats that a regular pool would have, I think many people would be very interested.

It would go a long way if all the work behind the scenes was as transparent as possible, you would get a lot more trust put into your pool.

It would be nice to see full stats of the currently mined coin and even possibly historical stats of previously mined coins that day as well.

I like the idea of having multiple workers as opposed to connecting via the wallet address.  users would have an account to login/setup workers with and then we register our BLITZ address on the site itself for payments.

In detail, here is what I think would be nice to see for stats pages:

Current coin being mined :
- show all stats a regular pool would show.

previously mined coins within current pay period :
- show how many coins were mined by pool and by individuals.
- show the timeframe the coins were mined.
- show the percentage of shares the user received for that coin.
** this would give the miners everything they really need to know without going overboard **

previous days of mining:
- just simply show how many coins were paid out during recent pay periods.

trading summary :
- show all transactions related to turning the mined coins into BLITZ.

Once again, very surprised there have not been many people responding to this... I guess they are too busy watching/following everything else that is going on in the markets for the past 24 hours... I know I have been.  My measly 3MH is excited and ready to help you test out the pool when the time comes, I think others will be as well.

Current state of Blitzcoin... we have someone willing to implement POS and rework the wallet (I agree with the addition of 1M coins to pay chango), check.  We now have someone putting together a multi-pool, check.  Now we need a larger exchange so the multipool has more volume to buy up the coins and get blitzcoin more known.  This is the job of the community, start voting on mintpal ( I think this is a a good exchange to aim for).  you can vote 5 times an hour, so while your watching BC go to the moon, go to the voting page everything once a while (ideally every hour) and get to clicking.... donate BLTZ so we can buy some votes as we still a ways to get to the top of thelist.

I don't think we will be as big as blackcoin, but we may be able to ride the wave they have created since Blitz is very similar.

obviously, we all want blitzcoin to mimmick blackcoin, this will not happen on its own or even with a new wallet and a multi-pool.... the community needs to step up.

going forward:
- I have not seen anyone disagree with adding 1M BLITZ to the supply in order to pay chango for the new wallet.  to be fair, it might be a good idea to start a poll to see what everyone thinks and give the community a say.  I am confident most will be fine with this, but I think we should still give the community a say.
- @chango, are you planning on running with future updates for the wallet ? or are you offering a one time fix kind of deal ?
- does anyone have any neat/innovative ideas for the new wallet ? I think some sort of coin control system would be neat, maybe estimated stake info as well ?  post some of your ideas.
- maybe another poll to decide on the POS details would be a good idea as well.
- vote vote vote on mintpal
- update the OP with current info, we have good news now, we need to make sure everyone else sees this as well.  should have the address for BLITZ donations there also.
- get the word out there.... make others aware of the bright future BLITZcoin has.

BLITZ will not go to the moon on its own... we need to 'launch' it there ourselves...

I am by no means a big player in the blitz community, but I will donate 20k blitz once the OP has been updated with the donation address.  we have people out there with millions of coins, please consider donating some as it will only help make your coins worth a lot more than 100-250 satoshi each.

Let's get our ducks in a row and make this work.

Cheers.

I too really like the specs on this coin, but you are correct in saying that if no one mines this coin before POS starts it will not go anywhere.

We need to spread the coins out to the masses in order for it to succeed.

From what the dev says they are working on this coin... but unless we can get the word out before POS starts, it may be pointless.

we need to focus on marketing right now... proper working links to the wallet would be a really good start.

should probably look into fixing the source on git as well so others don't have to jump through hoops to get it working.

I picked EMC2 as my "Up and Comer" coin to host as a p2pool on http://p2pool.sawilson.org . 1 percent fee. Very low latency if you are on the east coast (check!). So if you are a big fan of p2pool mining like I am and you can't get a good ping to the tiny handful of EMC2 p2pool servers, try mine.

can you confirm you are on the proper fork ?

we believe a node that started today is still on the old fork.

I will send you a PM as well.

Thanks.

sorry for the multiple posts, but after looking through the "block found" history I see the node on wrong fork has been up since the fork at 56000 and most likely before that.

this always seems to happen when I join P2P pools... that is why I always check now.

Thanks.

I think there is a node on the P2P network that is on the old fork, just started up today I think.

I first noticed that there was a chunk of blocks found that didnt make it to my wallet.

I then noticed the block numbers are all over the place recently:

I think there is a node on the P2P network that is on the old fork, just started up today I think.

I first noticed that there was a chunk of blocks found that didnt make it to my wallet.

I then noticed the block numbers are all over the place recently:

It looks like it came online about 1.5 hours ago @ 56560   Wed Apr 09 2014 12:41:26 GMT-0400 (Eastern Standard Time)

So, no Dev and no replacement Dev ?? not looking as good as it was a couple days ago for Blitzcoin.

that was quite a dump I missed yesterday.... glad it recovered a bit today so I could sell my coins and get most of the BTC back that I put into it.  I have a feeling the price may not recover so well if/when another dump happens.

That's the problem with the smaller exchanges, one person can completely buy or sell every order if they feel like it.

Kept a few coins just in case, but now im back to looking for the next big thing.... lol.

why are there not very many miners on the P2P pools ? I dont understand.

I imagine the majority of people are mining blitz till the end, why not jump on the P2P network.

there are a few really good nodes for this coin.  if u have any questions/concerns, ask away.

i always choose p2p pools when available.  the only time i mine regular pools is when i plan to swap between coins often.

Payouts go straight to your wallet and it should payout better than the regular pools.

do what u want obviously, but im stickin with p2p till the end.

just my two blitz.
