Any ideas as to when nem will hit 0.01 usd per nem. Please advise?

It already did last week!

It will return to that again not before long Smiley

Looking, good, one question, is there still going to be the forging token issued on top of the ardor token?

So can I have my computer fully shutdown and it will still harvest? when using delegated harvasting. let me know please. thanks in advance.

Yes if you use delegated harvesting on another computer you can shut down your computer.

This is a tricky answer. lol
So what if I'm only using 1 computer..
Because you said "If I use delegated harvesting on ANOTHER computer" you mean who ever picked up my delegated harvesting for me? sorry just a little confused.

When you´re using delegated harvesting, the Supernodes do the harvesting for you. So your Computer must not run.

Everytime I turn the computer and then log in to my wallet again I had to start my delegated harvesting again. I thought it would still be on. can you correct me if im wrong. Thanks

your computer has to be on actively trying to make a block.  your wallet or browser don't need to be open.  then important thing is that NIS is on and harvesting.

Harvesting is one of those things making people don't understand NEM, and I must say I'm one of them. I've been using harvesting (and delegated harvesting) for quite long, but I still don't get how it works, and what's exactly going on there. Ocassionally, delegated harvesting stops, and you need to launch it manually again. Sometimes, a node switches off and doesn't re-appear for longer time, so you're stuck (I ended up with wallet reinstallation due to this). At times, you need to de-activate delegated harvesting and activate it again, because it doesn't work anymore due to strange errors being reported with numbers and meaningless messages. The harvested amounts are just peanuts, so from investor's point of view harvesting is not an incentive to keep your XEMs long term.

I had a bit of trouble understanding it too, but basically if the server shuts down for any reason, you need to reconnect to the server to send the key for harvesting. If you message bloodyrookie he has some servers named alice that you can give him the harvesting key for and he will keep it harvesting for you Smiley

Congrats to the investors on the price rise. What do you guys think caused the price rise? I mean this isn't just a plain old regular pump, this is a MAJOR price move. So there must be something in the fundamentals that caused this.
DAO hack forced people to look for new promising tech and they found NEM.

You think that's the only reason? If it is really that then the people could also leave and dump NEM the same way they did with Ethereum. But since you mentioned it, what makes NEM better than Ethereum? And how will it surpass other cryptocurrencies in terms of speed of mainstream adoption?
Well then this article is exactly what you want to read, I suppose:
http://blog.nem.io/whats-the-difference-between-xem-btc-and-eth/

Its not just the DAO hack as mentioned. I along with many others said from day one that smart contracts on the blockchain with Ethereum is a bad idea, as either malicious code could be written, or serious security flaws can be found as was a result with the DAO hack.

The DAO hack may very well have sparked things up a bit, but i feel most of the volume was from Japan and other parts of asia where more news about their long term projects has spread, alot of this has only very slowly filtered down to the western world.

Those smart enough have jumped on board and we will see more over time do the same thing.
I think its good that we have been under the radar as its helped avoid alot of unnecessary hype.

Things are only going to move onwards and upwards from now on, as you can see with their latest announcement its expected we will see more marketing and events held. Smiley

I look forward to any opportunity to get involved in any future events here in New Zealand!

NEM and Bitcoin had been swapping places on BTC38 for #1 volume  Grin

That is some serious volume!
Amazing to think that its pretty much the same as BTC volume on that exchange!  Cheesy

With this great news, why does the price has dropped by 17%?
Its crazy. Huh Roll Eyes Huh

Whales are playing .... Hold your coins!
I am not falling for them. Cool

Neither am I, i could have sold mine too, and could have nearly doubled it if i bought back now, but im still holding my original stake, in fact its now a good time to buy more.
Remember that in crypto, there is always people trying to heavily manipulate the markets.
Doesnt matter what you are holding, its near impossible to avoid.

Remember long term is key, we need to be patient and wait 5 years and we will all be very happy Smiley

Wow, NEM really is aiming higher than any other crypto.

great news!
This is very great news indeed! Smiley

I wouldnt worry about the fees, its quite obvious they will have to decrease them, they often adjust the fees with BTC also for this very reason.

There may be some way to dynamically change the fees automatically if the value increases, but we still have to somehow calculate the fees based on the USD or some other fiat value, otherwise we would have nothing as a reference.

The idea is when the maximum marketcap is reached, you would not have to worry about this, or at least they would not need frequent adjusting. Smiley

Is anywhere any discussion or plans to change amount needed to be supernode? Does it make for me to buy 3 mils to run supernode, if in near future should required amount drop?

aim for the 3 million
if at all the network need high performance nodes able support mobike wallets
so requirement checks can go harder not easyer

i guess mostly on the tech part

if the network gets 300 high performance nodes on top of the normal nodes thats enought

and we have nearly 300 supernodes already why access should made more easy

when gather 3 million is in fact a healthy generation of buy pressure

Rather than changing SN minimum Amount, I´d prefer to lower the transaction fees. I paid 1,5 $ Yesterday for a NEM transaction. Thats much much more I would have paid for a similar Bank transfer here in Germany.

Yes. Fees are not humane now. If we want XEM $0.1 or higher, then fees have to be lowered.
Imagine:
XEM = $1 and you want to pay 1 XEM for something. Fee in this transaction suddenly 9!!! XEM  Shocked
If you pay 8 XEM - fee = 2 XEM. It's 25% of payment.
As we can see - XEM is NOT available for micropayments!
It's a pity! And developers must do something with it, if we and they want XEM to the moon!

In all fairness, the price jump has been so high that the fees are still that when we launched, im sure they will adjust them very soon Smiley

now its a good time to buy i think
I would wait a bit more, until BTC halving at lest.

Well, perhaps its better to buy your BTZC now, hold the BTC until halving happens, there is a good chance that BTC could almost double, but no one knows, but i expect it should reach near its all time high so expect $1000 per BTC at least after halving. Then your BTC would get a good amount of XEM Smiley

What is happening to the value of XEM its getting lower everyday.? Hopefully it can recovery soon.

BTC has dropped along with it as is all the top 10 currencies currently, one reason its $USD value has also dropped.

Good time to buy more anyway.  Cheesy

So with all the devs in this project, who would be the one person I could contact to ask a question about a specific project previously mentioned for NEM?

I tried slack, but there's a lot of members and I don't know who would be best to answer the question.

I think that BloodyRookie or Jabo38 should be able to point you in the right direction, you could even try messaging makoto, he has responded to me in the past. Smiley

Hi all,

BrainofMasses got me as far as synching against a NEM Node from the explorer.  When I import the private key from the email, I get a different address than what's stated in both the email and the .adb

I'm showing

NAFXXT-3TXOSY-O2UAZD-WIJYWL-MO2BU6-3OUEYL-APSM

My email and ADB says it should be

NBJFNVMVKOWHSW5Y6TYTTEPMTTZSMGXPLAH74EL6

Thanks for all the advice guys, still plugging away. Forgot my password like a dumb ass, but locked away private key so that should be enough I'm told.  After importing the private key, I hit the drop down box and still don't see the ADB address.

I also found a .kdbx file called NEM, not sure if that helps. Smiley

PM me please.

Solved!! Will be sending out reward along with .1 btc to a few people that also submitted ideas. Will post in a bit, thank you thank you thank  you... amazing helpful community!!

Brainofmasses received the .5 BTC bountry, PMd him the confirmation. Also sending tolikkk, rigel, teletobi and BloodyRookie 0.05 BTC for their messages.  Thanks everyone.

Stop selling your stake, dude! you ruin that beautiful flat price line!

I've kept like 500k (wallet and polo), and plan to rebuy in another 500k for an even million long term.

Do you plan on cashing out? Wow, I don't have close to 500k.

There were 2740 Stakeholders that got 2.25 Million initially.
Sad to see, that only about 1/4 of the stakeholders kept more than 10% of their stake...
I hope that all those dumpers shit their pants, if nem is heading higher :-)

Ive still got mine! Wink

What can we expect from NEM being a "private/public" blockchain?
What are the positive and negative aspects of this, instead of a full public blockchain?

There is reason in the corporate world for a private blockchain, mainly for privacy reasons, but mijin offers higher transaction speed along with lower costs, as they pay a subscription rather than paying fees that compound up, of course for smaller businesses, NEM works out much cheaper, so its all relative to its use.

Both chains use the same API's so switching between is not hard, it also demonstrates the technology behind NEM, since Mijin is based on NEM technology.

In other words, we have the best of both worlds!  Cheesy

NEM holding steady and stable, make your conclusions from there  Cool

It's going to continue holding steady and stable?  Huh

Let's ask the magic eight ball:

Magic eight ball, will NEM continue to hold steady and stable?

Its extremely stable, almost a flat line currently!
Compare that to the rest of the top 10 on the charts...  Cheesy

Just saw this, any reason they could not add the NEM blockchain to this service?
https://plutus.it/how-it-works

Up to them  I guess. Anyway, as long as they run it on ETH, no thanks.

They might have to end up switching to NEM one day! Cheesy

Hi guys, will xem issue gold phicical coins to first 1200? ppl on the 2014 distribution list?  any recent discussion cover this topic?      just ask.

why only first 1200 ppl?

Yes, I believe it were around 3000 who joined on time as well. I was too late myself.
But no regrets, I discovered this gem on time and had to study and learn a lot to start seeing its big potential, which i happily did.
The same can happen to you, just don't expect it to come from somebody else ...

All i know is that im glad I gave NEM a serious look from day 1 and bought my stake on the NXT AE, I was not too fussed at first, but this thing has really turned into a far bigger project than i imagined and has far exceeded my expectations.
Im not going anywhere!  Cheesy

Congrats. With 'you' I meant the relatively new guest of this forum, not you personally.
And yes, I discoverd nem when it was on the nxt AE as well...
Thinking of it, Nxt has proved itself to be very valuable for nem. Can we do something back for them? Would be nice ... and respectful ...

Not too sure what, perhaps some sort of partnership may work out in the future, i see other projects using more than one blockchain, so something may work out? who knows?
