Evening all - not sure what I did wrong - however I updated my Nvidia drivers today and am now having a problem I can't seem to fix.  I mine with my GPU's using ccminer - groestl.  When I updated my drivers my BFGMiner with g-black & g-blade running will not start without activating my GPU's?  It never did it before.  Am I missing something?  Please advise.  This is my command line:

bfgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://useast.wafflepool.com:3333 -u x -p x -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=813

Thank you in advance for any help provided.

When you mine Scrypt with BFGMiner, GPU mining is automatically enabled. My guess is that, by updating your drivers, you've now allowed BFGMiner to properly detect your GPUs.

To mine with BFGMiner without using your GPUs, add the following argument:

Code:
-S ocl:noauto

That did it - thank you kindly - I could not find the proper command for the life of me.

@pokeytex
hey thanks for joining us at miningfield Smiley I see you are now our top hashrate provider Smiley
Hehe - No problem.  I was getting all "booo's" on Danbi's pool last night so I figured I would give a US based pool a try.  So far so good.

Hello - Does anyone know if the Gridseed G-black will work with BFGMiner 4.8.0?  I am getting one soon and am running this version with my other Gridseed products.

I've forwarded this question onto my contacts at GridSeed and X-Hash to see if they can answer.

Thank you nwoolls - I will anxiously await your response.  - pokeytex

if someone could help please, I am looking for a clarification about whats happening with this mining thing:

hi I am a mining noob but I decided to try mining this coin on the multi pool and now I have questions

how long are the coins Unconfirmed for?

am I actually mining dmd?

my miner seems to think I have mined some dmd coins but the multipool is saying I have mined some btc

the number of btc's the pool says I have mined is not in agreement with what the mining software is reporting - whats that about?

any help about this would be appreciated

If you are multipool mining you are mining BTC which will then be converted to DMD.  If you are mining on wafflepool - I assume you are - you are mining multiple coins in let's say scrypt.  When those coins get converted to BTC they sit in your account until they hit at least .005 BTC.  At that point they are sent over to be converted to DMD.  Any confirmation times are based on each individual coin and will show up as immature on your stats page.  I am not sure what you mean that your mining software is showing you mining DMD - the POW of the coin is down atm.

Anyone seen the new single card slot 750ti's on market yet?
I'm thinking of going six 750ti, will 1000W PS be good enough?

Yeehah won it on ebay
HTPC Barebones - MOBO/RAM/CPU - Asrock H81 PRO BTC/G3220 3GHZ/4GB 1600 DDR3

$75+11.99 shipping

1000W? You will get very low efficiency. 750ti requires around 40W/card. Do not increase power limit in gpu's bios.
If I were you I would replace the MOBO. x1 PCIe slots has performance penalty because ccminer uses off GPU target checking, therefore you will get high PCIe load.

i would not buy any GPU that cant offer the hashpower/watt ratio a 750ti have
go with 6x 750ti and sell ur 280s

a 1000w PSU is nice so u can consider also add some asic to the system later on use the same psu

@reggie0 i use 6x 750ti on that mainboard and have no penalty at all from pcie x1
example DMD groestl mining 7.5 mhash each card  x11 2.7 mhash x13 2.1 mhash

I second cryptonit's comment on 750ti's.  I have been running (10) of them for about a year now and love them.  They each run around 8mh/s.  I have (2) rigs one with (6) 750ti's and (1) with (4) 750ti's.  I have the (6) running on a 1000 watt Rosewill PS and on that rig I also run (1) gridseed blade and (4) gridseed orbs.  No problems whatsoever.  I burn approximately 700watts with the (6) cards, mobo, asics.  Not bad at all.  I use powered usb risers and lose no power whether on 1x or 16x.  It just doesn't matter.  Go with the 750ti's.  I am waiting on the next revision of the Maxwell processor :-)

Ok - crazy questions - I noticed in the last (2) days a lot of stale mints (?'s) that is.  Does this have something to do with the mining on the windows wallet issue?  As a precaution I downloaded the new blockchain and wallet as outlined above.  Just wondering if we will have an issue once pow goes active again.

Diamond network works fine in POS mode, I just sent 350 coins from one purse to another. But the mode of production new coin, is currently  only available to those wallets that have coin. This is a good test of the entire system.

The "hidden" (*) feature of Diamond is that nothing is lost (except hashrate at pools, sorry about that). The coin mechanics is based on total coins in circulation, so this 'slowdown' just increases the mining at 1 DMD per block interval with just as much.

As we have focused initially in fixing PoS, all of the safety nets for PoS are already in place, we just postponed the inevitable fork to fix PoW. Again, this is an inherited bug, the bitcoin/ppcoin/novacoin code Diamond is based on is full of such crap. But, by slowly fixing it instead of just replacing it, as many other coins chose to do (it's way easier for developers), we preserve everyone's investment.

(*) It's funny that this feature has been explained so many times by cryptonit and everyone seems to ignore it -- understandable, as Diamond is unique in this regard, and people assume it works just like other coins.

Just sent you a little surprise for all of your hard work - Thank You!

we want in this POW less time secure network with maximum stake amount
and did ask everyone to open wallet in mint mode

u doing a great job DMD community!

its clear so many wallets in stake mode means that POS difficulty is raising
and even if amount of stake blocks is the same as before each single user have the feeling he mint less frequent

Just fyi - I am minting about 8-10 times per day - so all is working on my end - USA east coast.

The dashboard on danbi's pool shows we're hashing away.
Does this mean we lose whatever mining power we pointed to it for now?
yes

send ur miners towards
http://multipool.bit.diamonds/
there lot possible algos u can use

Thanks. The problem is that I'm at work without access to rigs. Will have to wait till I get home tonight.

Just an fyi - I use Teamviewer (google it) - it is free and allows me access to my rigs no matter where I am.

there is no fork
the network is up and running but POS only and a bit slower transaction times
transactions and use of exchanges is save

Situation DMD Diamond POW:
A vulnerability that we fixed on POS side was by a mistake not fixed on POW code side.
POW mining is at the moment stuck we create a fix wallet in the next days
after release we give everyone a few days time to update  before POW will start to work again
once the POW reactivate trigger is reached all old wallet wont be longer part of network
and need to upgrade to be able participate again

update will be as easy as just replace the exe
no resync or anything required

we are sorry for the inconvenience this creates special for our miners
on the other side we are happy that our POS security improvement worked out as designed
and keep the coin protected and active even after a major POW issue

we invite all miner in meantime to use http://multipool.bit.diamonds/ to earn diamonds
as small compensation we increase DMD Multipool lotto reward this month to 300 DMD!

happy mining

also a big thx to all our active minters u keep the network going
so everyone leave his wallet in minting mode please

Ok - pointed my miners to the scrypt multipool until all fixed.

a good test of our self-regulating network security measurements
for now POS is perfectly securing the network the POS blocks are the only one stable getting accepted
by network until POW issues solved
if its a attack or another issue we will explain after we finished analysis
if u wana help make sure ur wallet is open in mint mode

update:

effects on userbase
- network is slower because pos time is slower so transactions can need a bit longer
- please mine via http://multipool.bit.diamonds/  until we give info about stabilized the POW issue and direct mining is again possible without issues

there is no fork issue and no stuck network issue
in my opinion a perfect prove that hybrid POW/POS was very valuable once again

:-)  Always open and always minting!  I love diamonds!

Did something crash?  Net Hash Rate = 735 mhs and Danbi's pool hash rate is 2303 mhs as per 7:33am EST.  Oh and difficulty is down to 12.

PoS related question: I have a few DMD on various wallets, which are mature and currently receive PoS minted Diamonds. Will I lose future PoS payments if I move all coins to a new wallet? Or will they still be considered 'mature' coins after sent to a new address?

you loose all coinage when you transfer the coins.
unless it's a move inside a wallet, which doesn't imply a "real" transaction.

Thanks!

So, this means I *never* transfer them or I can transfer them once I get whatever PoS they are worth?

In the second case, how do I know when the coins will not generate any more PoS?

It is my understanding that if you do transfer them - they will start the POS process again in 7 days.  Anyone else confirm that?

Version 2.0.3.2 of the Diamond wallet has been released on GitHub.Com.

This version has two main highlights:

1. eliminates the bogus block index entries at startup which prevents the dreaded assert error. This does not modify any on-disk data, your on-disk block index may still contain garbage, but this version will start fine nevertheless.

2. resolves a long standing issue with incorrectly calculated cashes at the algorithm switch time, that still float around the network and cause various edge case problems. With this version, such block hashes are totally eliminated (using some brute force). Related to this change is some additional processing of incoming blocks, that should reduce significantly the amount of garbage that gets accumulated over time.

There are no new features in the wallet. This is strictly stability code fix, addressing these unfortunate situations.

Please note: In order to fix 2), additional hash processing has to be done. The wallet could therefore use more CPU -- although this depends on many factors and is rarely seen.

These fixes required some more extensive testing, as they involve core hashing changes. Having resolved these, we will further focus on more performance optimizations -- the bitcoin/ppcoin code contains a lot of excessive processing that can be optimized and out algorithm switch code has added some more -- so there is much room for improvement in performance. We are also working on some new features, but obviously had to postpone these until the core code is stable.

Compiled versions will be available shortly.

Thank you Danbi for the hard work you put in.  Will this be available as a download for the Windows wallet on the Diamond website?  Please advise.  Or can you post a link to the github version?

Thanks,

Pokeytex
