Haha yeah, I thought that was was trapped in a case, not a box...

Rob Schneider is trapped in a freezer, only this time he's about to find out that being trapped like a fool ain't so cool. Rob Schneider stars in; Freezer! Rated PG-13.

Made me laugh. The Buried movie you all are describing sounds good, I'll have to check that out.
1242  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoin? The maintained list of verified free Bitcoin Sites. on: March 18, 2014, 11:12:08 PM
Has anybody heard of http://www.bitcoinplus.com/ or is more experienced than myself and could check it out to see if it seems legit? The premise is letting miners use your computer's power and generating small amounts of BTC for yourself the longer you are on there. Thanks in advance for any answers.

@Portnoy have you ever heard of this site? Has anybody else? It sounds promising for a beginner such as myself who is trying to build up my BTC, but I have no real idea as to its legitimacy and the technical side of how that's possible.
1243  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 11:07:39 PM

variations in share prices depend on lots of things

Word, definitely. There are so many different factors that influence stock prices such as political/economic factors, company news, good/bad company press, new laws and regulations, WAR, etc. Way too many to list.
1244  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 05:55:13 PM

Thanks bud.  Keep studying and working at it and you'll get there.

Thanks man. Great idea with investing in casinos in the first place by the way. The house always wins, and they will continuously rake in that dough.
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 05:47:40 PM

dont place too much trust in any stock traded on an OTC exchange... there is a reason they are there.

True, but many of the marijuana companies are moving up everyday towards full reporting. Props on working for that San Fran hedge fund too. Basically my dream job is day trading, with my own money.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 05:38:02 PM
I traded for a hedge fund based in San Fran and I currently publish a stock analysis website, http://5thstreetresearch.com/.  I haven't had much time to update in the past 2 months, but MPEL, LVS, FL, MSG and TTWO all remain solid buys in my opinion.  If you disagree with any of my recommendations please feel free to comment.

I checked the 5 year charts on all of those, they look pretty great, especially if you've been holding for long. However, I don't know whatever individual company news is going on either.
1247  Economy / Economics / Re: Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 05:31:57 PM

Many marijuana penny stocks are pump and dumps. Few are legitimate.

I tend to disagree with that. MJNA and CBIS have shown pretty consistent growth and I forecast them as continuing to rise. I disagree with whoever said that Seeking Alpha's news briefs are the only ones to influence  the market. Some of the benefits I see with going all-in on BTC rather than the stock market- it seems like there is lower commissions for buys/sells (Scottrade charges me a min. of $7 to buy and sell each), no settling period after a sale where I can't immediately re-buy some and/or cash out, long-term holdings with BTC I could use the profit as money to live, no market-only hours, I can gamble with my BTC holdings for gains (I wish), etc. There are a few more than those that I have thought of but can't think right now. However, the stock market has some upsides to it as well. But for now- I'm thinking about continuing to hold some of my long-term shares, and selling the rest to put into BTC.
1248  Economy / Economics / Anybody on here trade stocks and bitcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 04:26:31 AM
I've had an individual brokerage account with Scottrade for a couple years now, and just recently I've fully gotten into BTC, and I've been thinking about selling my stocks to invest in bitcoin. Do any of you fellow Bitcoin enthusiasts invest in the stock market as well as holding/trading in bitcoin? I mostly do short-term to long-term holdings of stocks before selling, lately I've had good gains in marijuana related stocks.  Wink
I have very limited capital right now. Anyways, I see pros and cons to both with going all in on one of the 2 options. Just wondering if you guys had any input, and if you don't currently trade would be interested in buying and selling stocks. If you do trade, what companies have you had good experiences with lately?
1249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info down? on: March 18, 2014, 03:21:50 AM
Thanks for the information guys.

rule 1. dont rely on a single third party, be decentralized. use them all...

That is good advice. I have 3 different wallets in theory, though 2 of them are just different sites I used to deposit USD and buy BTC, and the main one I use for my assets is Blockchain.

What does that accomplish? Blockchain is the easiest and most complete. Unless there starts being some kind of "funny business" at blockchain.info, why use anything else?

That's more or less how I felt about the situation. To my fairly n00b self, blockchain.info has always seemed legit, and seems to be an integral part of the BTC community. Plus it is a one-stop shop for me where I can check blocks for transactions, see charts, etc.
1250  Economy / Economics / Re: Who owns and controls the Federal Reserve? on: March 18, 2014, 03:07:22 AM
Yup, 2 things the majority of America doesn't know about the Federal Reserve:
It's not Federal, and it's not a reserve.
It is truly depressing to me how much the average citizen knows about the Federal Reserve, if anything. Wake up people (to the sheep)! These banking cartels are controlling your life. The Fed makes announcements about Quantitive Easing, and the stock market either plummets or shoots up, no doubt putting infinity-millions more into the big banks' pockets when they buy/sell at the right time. Anybody on here a Zeitgeist fan?
And they call people conspiracy theorists when they suggest the Rothschilds have controlling stakes in the world...
Speaking of the Fed and their worthless funny money, there was a video posted by another member on one of these sub-forums that was pretty informative to anyone needing clarification on the U.S. money system. Here it is, if anyone hasn't seen it and is interested:

1251  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockchain.info down? on: March 18, 2014, 02:41:46 AM
Hey everybody, I'm fairly new to BTC though I've been following it for a while. Earlier I was going to check the balance of my main wallet, and noticed blockchain.info was down for maintenance. That was a couple hours ago and it still is, but I was just wondering if that is a common occurrence, and if so how long on average it is. I guess this would be a good time to get the fractions of a coin I have backed up on a paper wallet?

Requiem For a Dream by Darren Aronofsky, one of my all-time favorites, especially on a few squares of Lucy.

I would have also thought he would have much Greater chances of employment if he IS our Satoshi Nakamoto. Doubt he is looking for employment right now. But after reading his life story I agree that he is a very interesting person either way, and I wish him the best of luck with all the media/paparazzi bastards.

Hey CasinoBitco - Do you guys still do that percentage of won/lost back the next week? Any sign-up bonuses? I'm on there as carlbill35 and my address is 1FeKQXb2xU9RUYEZnhuDdny3HzDAAzM1SM. Hook it up! Thanks
1257  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoin? The maintained list of verified free Bitcoin Sites. on: March 17, 2014, 02:44:22 AM

Do you see them listed as a silver member?
https://members.bitcoinfoundation.org/current

Dubious site seems dubious.

Thanks man, I checked the full list and they are not currently listed as a Silver Member. It did seem a little dubious, though I suppose I assumed it may have been slightly more legit than most out there. I am fairly new to BTC although I have followed it for a little while. I have put some fiat money into it, all the spare bills I had, and I am looking into ways to build up to my first full coin+.

And the more so for all the BS claims of being able to earn piles and piles of BTC regularly, then running a points system instead of direct earnings. Looks VERY much like the standard scam PTC setup - promise the earth, give people dirt.

Indeed, many of those sites have you slaving away for a couple hours for what amounts to a couple USD pennies. Are there any sites that go above and beyond the few Satoshi most give out? And while I've got your attention, does anybody know of some good, trusted BTC casinos? Where people report decent payouts without a withdraw hassle? Any of them that do sign-up/first deposit bonuses? I would have posted this in the gambling subforum, but didn't want spammers/scammers misinforming me.
1258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My father lives in France. Should I have him buy my bitcoins? on: March 16, 2014, 11:34:45 PM
Coinbase worked fine but took me 4 days to get them because I didn't have a Visa credit card to put as backup for instant purchases. After that I used coin.mx, bought 100 dollars worth and had it in my wallet within an hour or so. You can use credit/debit, and they are located in the U.S. if that makes you feel better. Those 2 were my first BTC purchases, so I was excited and trying to get them Asap. Both companies were legit to me. Hope that helps.

Can anyone on here invite me to bitbillions.com? And are there any reports available about its reputation/payouts? On the site it says it is a Bitcoin Foundation Silver Member, though I don't know if that truly amounts to anything.
