1041  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoin? The maintained list of verified free Bitcoin Sites. on: June 13, 2014, 03:29:24 AM
@Portnoy-

I must say you are a very noble fellow for not having your referral url of each site embedded into the OP. However, you Are providing a good service to the community by putting the list together, personally verifying the sites, and maintaining the list. I give you props for that, and because of your service provided, I don't see how anybody could argue with you against doing that. I say go for it my good man. I'm sure you have your reasons for not doing that though.

1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTCtalkcoin [TALK] - Pure POS - Multipool Ready! - AirDrop Has Arrived on: June 13, 2014, 03:22:59 AM
I think the best way for this coin to actually "make it" and survive would be if this forum actually Did implement the ability to tip other users and store personal amounts on here.

However... I would be curious to know how much TALK the actual devs still have left themselves. As in if they are still holding or if they just dumped their own portion of it when it hit 100+ Satoshi value on Poloniex. It would perhaps be a good show of faith if they could prove they still were holding their own amounts.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losers on: June 11, 2014, 07:51:50 PM
I kind of understand what OP is talking about here. And people- get off your high horses knocking the amount of his life savings. That is rude and disrespectful, and there are millions of people on this planet that would feel like a millionaire if they had something valued at ~$650 USD.

I had read about Bitcoin for a few years, and gobbled up every news story I came across about it. Don't know why I didn't think to directly look into buying any/investing in it, I guess I just never went off to the side (a new browser tab or such) and searched for how to buy some. I finally got into it for real at the beginning of this year. And I will admit, that I, like many, did have high hopes and dreams of some wild overnight success with the little bit of money I had put into it. I ended up sitting on my ass just soaking it all in, reading and learning more and more about it as I went. Did all of the faucets/Bitcoin-earning sites/cloud mining and such. Got into trading altcoins on Cryptsy and ended up doing pretty well actually. Especially coming from buying and selling stocks for a few years, I thought Cryptsy and alt-trading was cake compared to that. Hit a few solid gains and started to feel cocky, thinking that surely I had found my new, badass stay-at-home trading career. When Blackcoin was getting pumped Hard, I bought all-in a few times and rode the pump. Each time I sold and got out I watched as it continued to rise, and thought I had better get in one more time. I ended up losing my ass and all of my gains as it went down and down, as I held pipe dreams of it bouncing back up. But alas, no it did not. I was broke, but humbled, and that can be a good thing sometimes.

However, I continued with Bitcoin, further diving into the network and the community of it. Today, I now own my own BTC website with a faucet that I taught myself how to code and write HTML, PHP, CSS and the like along the way. I have also met a lot of amazing people and learned a few things about technology yes- but life also. Though I am definitely closer to poor than rich right now, I am very happy with life and my decision to get into Bitcoin. I love being a part of this community, and am proud to be involved with Bitcoin- something I see as world-changing. We are part of the solution for fixing this somewhat-broken world, not part of the problem. I fully see Bitcoin as the device that will finally give the power back to the people. A financial entity that can unite the world, including those living in politically-oppressive countries and those under sanctions from multi-gove.rnment bullshit, or those living in countries where women would normally have no power. (Have you seen the article about the Afghan girls writing and speaking out and getting paid with BTC for it? Rock on Smiley) In an increasingly privacy-invasive world, we are helping protect anonymity and freedom of speech and finance. And although I still have to use fiat currency for most day-to-day things, such as paying bills, I feel so much more liberated from the banksters' stranglehold on the world already. I am very confident that Bitcoin at $1200 where OP bought in at is still Very undervalued compared to the future. There is so much news breaking every single day of new companies, states & govs., and the like embracing it that I think there is no way we could fizzle out now. And I don't even really own much Bitcoin right now to benefit from a huge future price surge, I've had to spend what I had along the way due to financial hardships. I would be consistently buying more if this was a possibility at the present time. But like I said, I'm still happy. I'm happy to be a part of something great with you all. Remember that we are all in this together. Don't rob somebody or try to perpetrate some BS Ponzi/HYIP scheme. It may benefit you in the short-term, but it is only hurting our community in the big picture of it. I am proud to say I am a part of this movement.

As far as a little speculative advice for OP- I feel like Darkcoin has a very promising future. That is personally something I would invest in also given the funds. And, hopefully soon I will be able to add some to my holdings. But just remember- all of this- these cryptocurrencies, this is still only the beginning. I feel like if you sold now to recuperate losses, you would end up deeply regretting it in the future. But I could be wrong. It is speculation after all.

I love scratchcards!

Any future plans to make it physical?

If I remember correctly, there was a fellow selling what may have been physical Bitcoin/altcoin scratch-offs in the "Goods" section on here a couple of months ago. They May have just been BTC/altcoin coupon type deals where the receiver could scratch off a part of the ticket that covered a QR code, and then claim the funds. I remember he was reaching out to altcoin devs to see if they wanted to buy batches of hundreds or thousands of them, and they were beautifully designed/styled.

@OP, vineyard- That really would be a cool idea for you to consider.
However, it would probably get pretty complicated and turn into a sticky situation, and people would be hard to convince that the physical/printed scratchcards were Provably Fair. I imagine some sort of unbiased third party would have to overlook them to make sure there was a proportionate amount of "winners" in there.

I know you already have enough of a headache with people not comprehending the mathematics behind your Provably Fair system as it is...  Cheesy
1045  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Confession of a Degenerate on: June 11, 2014, 06:06:39 PM
So you guys strongly believe that scammers should not be labeled scammers if they hang around and talk to investors who's funds had been blown away on drinking gambling and so on? This opens the door to a whole new breed of scammers now lol. What of tradefortress? Not a scammer? Come on guys use ur common sense here

Kind of off topic/kind of related to this, but could someone please explain the story of TradeFortress to a n00b to the forums such as myself? I've seen so many mentions of him scamming, heard stories about how he used to run some crazy bank monopoly operation on here, and seen "FreeHugs" with like negative 420,069 trust rating. If my assumptions are correct, wasn't he at one time a respected member of the BTC community/forum? Before he went to the dark side? I am intrigued by all of these references and comparisons to TradeFortress I see whenever there is a thread exposing some scam/fraud.
1046  Economy / Reputation / Re: Pierre11 Reputation Thread - My Feedback on: June 11, 2014, 02:02:15 PM
Pierre11 helped me out a ton by giving me a loan so that I could withdraw the rest of the BTC in my Cryptsy account to refill my faucet, which was running out fast. Stuck to his word as promised.

Could anybody please help me out with this? I'm thinking it should only take 1 hour tops. I would have you deposit straight to my Cryptsy account, then all we would be waiting on is the deposit confirmations and then the withdraw processing. They are usually fairly quick about processing withdraws. I will tip you some Dogecoins whenever That withdraw is processed, as well as you getting back 0.004 BTC obviously.
1050  Economy / Lending / Short-term: Need to borrow .0035 to withdraw .007 from Cryptsy and repay .004 on: June 11, 2014, 10:39:00 AM
Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a predicament here. My faucet's balance is down to approx. 0.00332561 and going down fast. Had a lot of crazy things happen in life lately, and had to pay way too many bills in the past couple weeks. While waiting to receive ad money from advertisements displayed on my site, I have been doing anything possible to keep refilling my faucet so that it does not run out, and I don't lose credibility while my site is still growing. This includes withdrawing the approximately 9000 Dogecoins from my balance on freedoge.co.in to sell on Cryptsy just to keep the faucet funded for another day (if that). I hit "withdraw" yesterday, but didn't know it could take up to 48 hours to be processed. I also have roughly 0.007 BTC in my Cryptsy account. The minimum BTC withdraw from Cryptsy is 0.01 BTC with a 0.0005 transaction fee (lame). So I need 0.0035 deposited to my Cryptsy account in order to withdraw 0.01. I can pay you back 0.004 as soon as the withdraw gets sent from Cryptsy, and I also have no problem with tipping a few Dogecoins (whenever That gets processed) on top of that to anybody who can help me out. Proof of both accounts here and here. Alternatively, if you'd be interested in working out an ad spot on my site for your website/company/referral link to be seen my thousands of people across the world instead of getting 0.004 back we could work that out as well. I don't really have any collateral (that's settled) right now, if I did I would have already sold it and wouldn't have made this thread, lol. Please let me know if you can help me out. I wouldn't risk the reputation of myself and/or my site for a measly 0.003 BTC.

TL;DR- Need 0.0035 BTC deposited to Cryptsy account to withdraw 0.01 BTC and repay you 0.004 as soon as transaction is processed. +A few free Dogecoins as a "thank you" tip when they are processed.
1051  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★★★ FREE CREDIT GIVE AWAY. EVERYBODY RECEIVES FREE CREDIT - Ritz Grand Casino ★★ on: June 09, 2014, 09:15:44 PM
you get free credit when you login every 24 hrs. And you receive free credits on sign up.

Is there an option for a custom deposit amount?
I remember there was, but it looks like you guys changed the payment provider or something, it's more difficult now -_-

Hmm.. yeah that is not really cool. You guys offer the "hello220" deposit bonus eligible when you deposit at least 22 credits, but you can deposit 20 credits or 50 credits (the next step up). In my opinion you should change the "hello220" promo. to a 20 credit deposit eligibility. Either that or offer a specific 22 credit deposit option. The option of not having a custom deposit amount sucks, though I'm sure it benefits you guys.  Undecided

In other news however, having the option of paying/playing with like 50 different cryptos is pretty cool.

The question for Dooglus did he personally know that Kyle lost the BTC prior to Klye announcing to the public here and continued to let Klye try to sell shares in JD chat room?

It is not dooglus's job to babysit people regarding their potential investment opportunities. Always do your prior research with diligence, and know that there is risk involved with almost any investment.
If every casino owner said to the gamblers- "Now, I don't think you should really be gambling with this money that's not yours/needed for different things/when you're already behind so far" and disallowed it, well I'm thinking casinos around the world would be a lot more empty. Lol.  Wink

That being said, hot damn! I know my heart gets racing when I am fucking around on Just-dice with just like 0.02 BTC (I am poor, lol and not lol), and when I finally lose I feel like a crackhead who has been smoking all day and just run out. Couldn't even imagine losing a sum like this.

However, definitely don't kill yourself man. I hope that's just something you said because you wanted people to know how seriously bad you felt for losing all their money. No amount of lost money is worth your life being taken away, you only get one of those. I have been down, out, and lower than low before myself, and so have many I've known. And I have come back from the depths of depravity and depression, and seen many people turn their lives around completely, many of which are very successful now. The fact that you just didn't dip the fuck out like most would have done, and are here now does say something. I'll tell ya what though- many of us have pipe dreams of trying to make it big with cryptos. While it would be nice, I would say for now just pull the sparkler out of your ass (sorry, had to  Grin) and get a job at a fast food restaurant if nothing else. That is steady income, and steady (if small) repayments of debt could be made with that. Good luck to you, man. Keep your head up, you just always gotta keep trying to push forward in life, even if it seems like you take 2 steps back for every one forward.

P.S.- Might not be so positive if I was one of your investors, but make this right, even if it takes a while.

P.P.S.- Hitler video was fucking HilariousCheesy

P.P.P.S.- Great job on just-dice dooglus, never seen you on here personally to tell you that!

If anybody is unable to play and ga.mble on Bitcoin-scratchticket based off of where you live, you can play here on my site: http://www.cryptoplanet.co/play/
You can even use your same account as Bitcoin-scratchticket, it is official. The rest of the "Play" section is still under construction, but I'm trying to add more daily. It's been hard lately since I've been working on another site.

I also have a BTC faucet on my site and a section for earning BTC/getting it for free.
*end shameless self-promotion, lol*

snarlpill

cant play on your site! all i see is referral banners to other gambling sites

Click on the big red lottery ticket on the "Play" page, it will pop up on the same page from that.

Why are there so many people (3 in this page, 3 in the previous page) coming to grab the promo in their very first post?

(Requires a minimum of 30 activity level to participate.)

Because people are too stupid/lazy to read that and understand it, or can't read at all. Happens, without fail, every single time there is a giveaway where people are eligible if they have "X" amount of activity. I always feel sorry for the OPs who have to spend so much time repeating themselves to these people.
But, I guess free shit is free shit, doesn't hurt to try anyways, I suppose.

I'm not looking for any "on-the-record" statements or answers, just personal opinions.

Good to see some old faces back in the campaign!

1 week till payouts. We will hopefully have our new system set up by then which will allow us to automate payments weekly Smiley

Ah, I see you've answered many members' most dire question: weekly payouts. Thanks for letting me be a part of this campaign.

I also see BitcoinInformation considering switching to PD and Stunna, even though he has been breaking his back bending over backwards to help out UpDown.bt, all for nothing probably. If you're reading this guy, go with who is trusted and legitimate, and don't be in doubt for weeks wondering if you'll have a payday.

Well, I was wondering if the businesses using dual payment of PP and BTC are Allowed to as stated (or not stated) in PP's TOS, or if they were kind of just sliding under the radar with it. Which end would you think it'd be closer to, just off the top of your head?
1058  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question for business starting with BTC on: June 07, 2014, 05:07:25 AM
There are plenty of sites that give you the option of paying with PayPal, CC or bitcoins. PayPal only disallows buying or selling bitcoins directly using their service.

Using new addresses for all Bitcoin transactions is the best way to track payments. I generate a few thousand at a time and load them into a database to be presented at checkout. Why re-use addresses when it cost nothing to get a new one and avoid all possibility of confusion?

The part about PayPal, could you pretty much guarantee that? I am dying to set-up a 'pay with Bitcoin' option on his site as I redesign it. There would Definitely be no buying or selling of BTC on this site. Just 'Pay with PayPal' and 'Pay with BTC'. If you could pretty much promise me we would be alright doing both it would make my day. He gave me full creative control over it, and is down to start with BTC. The only thing is, PP is currently the Only option he has on there of receiving payment. If somehow things got fucked up and his site got "kicked out" of using PayPal, I could never regain the trust and respect I would lose.

As for the second part, is this what I need to do: Set-up a MySQL database with a bunch of different generated BTC addresses, then when they click "Pay with BTC" some php returns a new, unused BTC address from the database?

That is just what I'm thinking would need to be done. Thanks for the help.
1059  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question for business starting with BTC on: June 07, 2014, 12:28:03 AM
You're putting far too many hurdles in the way. Who on earth would do all that? Depends on what you're selling.

Why not bitpay or similar?

And, like Vod said, for now paypal is anti bitcoin.

Probably the best place to get positive advice is project development.

Vod did say PP or Bitcoin. But I couldn't go all BTC right now because his company does a lot of business and growing. I swear I have seen some sites that offered both, maybe somebody will add to the discussion with that.

Why would somebody jump through all the hurdles? Well, it's not a lot of hurdles in my opinion. People would just have to type our BTC address once and then could save it in their addresses. An email, sure, but maybe that could just be for the first time, and both parties would confirm that they had the proper address, and that the buyer would carefully save it -as is- for future use. Then we could just tell them for all future times to add a 4 digit (4 seperate numbers) Satoshi signature to their BTC total and email us that number afterwards.
But, if my friend was able to take orders through BTC, those orders would end up being cheaper for him to process, and this is savings that we could pass on to the end user.

Also, I was hoping to implement a referral program for his business. Every time someone's referral made a purchase, say-10% would go into their account via BTC transfer. I feel like this would be much simpler with BTC than say, USD.

Not BitPay or any third party like that. If we were doing this, it would be something that we would want to have sole discretion on and full control over. Most of our BTC we would probably HODL, unlike many business that "accept" Bitcoin through BitPay (or a similar service), and then immediately liquidate it into USD or another fiat currency.
Also, BitPay charges a fee. One of the whole points of this would be to make financial transactions cheaper and simpler- something we would pass on to the end user.

If we are fully unable to even mention paying with BTC on the site (even in image form), than I would still try to make it happen with word-of-mouth, advertising, and/or a special contact email visible on the site, i.e.- paywithbtc(@)hissite.com

Thanks for the responses though, guys. Hopefully some other people with experience on this issue will add to the discussion also.

1060  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long have you had your Bitcoin Address? on: June 06, 2014, 04:36:00 AM
Voted. 1-6 months. I think like 4 months. This reminds me of the Hotmail email address thread I saw. Many people said that they knew they should change their email address, but they'd had it for forever and it was associated with so many different accounts/sites, and it would be a huge hassle to switch. The sad thing is that I've had a hotmail email address a long time too.  Sad

Anyways, I've had one (BTC addr.) for about 4-5 months, the same address I had when I started with Bitcoin just back in February. But I've learned a lot since then and jumped right in to the Bitcoin culture. I now own a Bitcoin site that has my own faucet, super stoked on that. I have another address however that I use to keep track of a lot of different things. But the original is 'Old Faithful' lol.
