Right on guys thanks. I'm ready to deposit some money from my wallet to my cryptsy account. I bought some BTC earlier on an exchange and sent it to my wallet. It is all there in my wallet, but it Still says uncomfirmed. If it is picking up and displaying my new balance, could I still spend that even though it's not confirmed yet? Or will this create massive problems?

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase some Litecoin today on cryptsy. I'm thinking about just buying some to hold for a while, as I believe the price will go up. But if I buy and get a chance at a nice little profit in a few days I would go for that too and sell. Right now it is going for around 0.0280 BTC per Litecoin. Is this an alright price to buy 5-10 at? Any and all input is appreciated, thanks.

I'm needing to buy some BTC with Fiat from my bank account, how long does it take to buy BTC from Bitstamp? I'd like to use my Coinbase account right now for the price it's displaying, but don't want to wait 4 days to get them. I'll usually use coin.mx for instant purchases but the price they're running for BTC is around $630+ right now, while everywhere else is displaying ~$580.

Fuck paying taxes on my BTC transactions.

Looks promising for sure. Favorite part about your site that I saw is that you can bet on BTC price and difficulty. Seems pretty original as far as I know. Might have to try it when I get paid tomorrow and buy some more BTC.

^ You guys are cracking me up and I'm also laughing because it sounds like he may want 2-5 US pennies - .02-.05 BTC.

Well, I finally got around to trying the FairProof lottery system. Deposited 0.01 and won a few times. I played it safe, picking the number 10 and betting that the number drawn would be bigger. Everything seems completely legit. I took a look at his algorithm under the "Fair?" heading at the top of the page. I also really like how you can randomize your client seed. Anyways, it is Definitely possible to win. But, like any and all gambling, it IS a gamble. My only advice would be to not get too cocky after you win a few times. Screenshot from one of my wins: Sorry if that picture comes across as too huge. *Edit* changed the file hosting site so hopefully my picture won't be blocked as "suspicious."

+1 to PrintMule and FalconFly for having some decent tastes in movies.

Agreed ^. I think there is this vast perception in the mainstream media and uninformed public that Bitcoin is for drug smuggling hitmen and there is a Very High danger of hacking and theft present. As you know, this is not accurate at all and only an attempted smear of Bitcoin's reputation and trustworthiness. Most of this smear campaign with sensational anti-BTC headlines is probably intentional unfortunately, probably due to Big Bank and Gov. financial backing. All we can do is either A) Not give a fuck about what the sheeple masses think of us, or B) keep pushing on and prove to the public that BTC is filled with many good people. More stuff like Sean's Outpost and like Doge did- funding a team, in this case the Jamaican bobsled team. Cooool Runnings, mon.

This thread is as titled- what are your personal figures for mining? If you don't want to tell the internet/whole world the details of your monetary gains, I could definitely understand that. But if you don't mind, what amount of BTC do you make per day/week/month with your current set-up, and what is that set-up? I have been thinking about giving it a shot. And I know -before everyone says it- that just getting into mining at this time and level of difficulty is probably crazy and definitely risky, and probably not the most profitable job. I understand that. But I am very interested in the Bitcoin economy and community as a whole, and this is definitely something I'd like to be a part of. If you do post BTC mining figures, try to include the total mined (that is, before electricity, hardware costs, etc.). You can definitely still post that info. with it though. Thanks in advance to anyone who posts their figures and/or offers advice.

Plan on trying it out with some BTC as soon as I build up my wallet again. I will probably start off small, and choose lower-risk bets at first, i.e.- Betting that the number will be higher than 10. But over time, I could definitely see this building up a nice, steady profit.

The ideas that this thread is spurring in my head are very intriguing to me. On the one hand, altnoob who has worked in the insurance industry for a while raised a lot of good questions. I think you definitely need to take that into mind OP unless you have informed advisers or at the very least a good lawyer. On the other hand though, I really don't know how I feel about the idea of people putting their BTC into an insurance companies "vault" (aka a bank). It does kind of seem to go against some of the main principles Bitcoin was founded on in the first place. And like a few people have said- Why would I PAY to put my money into someone else's vault when I could put my own money into an offline paper wallet "vault" for free? That is also a good point. It Would be good for beginners and like someone said- corporations. But to get a large share of bitcoin holders to put their money into an unknown company, I think you would definitely need to offer some sort of perks; interest, ability to hold bitcoin And some Fiat money in the same vault? I don't know... After the scandalous fall of Mt. Gox and the Bitcoin communities trust being damaged, it could go 2 different ways. 1)- More bitcoin holders get scared/skiddish and sell-off, going back to their "trusted and safe" Fiat money and causing the price of bitcoin to drop. OR 2)- The majority of bitcoin holders know that the future of BTC is very promising and plan on keeping/buying more coins, but now are even more weary of trusting any third parties. Instead of letting it ruin us, we rise up as a whole community and decide to fully support all trustworthy businesses and slowly shut out all the scammers. If Bitcoin truly is the future of this world as many of you have said, there will be even more large corporations and venture capitalists joining the ranks. At that point I could see a few big name insurance companies blossoming (By that point Allstate, State Farm, etc. probably... )

The site looks promising, I will have to check it out later on my laptop, on phone now. A friend of mine used it, he had nothing bad to say about it, so I'll throw a little in to try. I'll post results after I do.

If anybody wants to do 0.2 for 0.3 return I would do that. But I couldn't do anything higher on 0.2 and anything less than 0.2 received it probably wouldn't be worth the +.1 return for me. Anyways, if anybody has any interest or questions, just let me know.

I hope to be in the position of the lender someday myself, instead of the borrower. And truthfully I would probably judge 9 out of 10 offers as someone trying to anonymously take my money over the internet too.

Yeah, I understand that man. I kicked around the idea of doing some sort of escrow with my account number and password from Scottrade, with a third party member of this site, but judged it too risky to be honest. Me being fairly new here goes both ways, I more than likely would not know the third party very well. Anyways, as I said up there, I understand most will not want to work on these terms. I will not lose sleep over it and I don't need it to feed my family, but it would be cool.

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to BTC although I've been reading about it for a while. Just didn't know how easy it was to get a Bitcoin address and deposit money/buy bitcoin I suppose. Anyways, I am looking for a loan of 0.3 BTC to repay 0.4 BTC in 2 weeks, although if you would be open to smaller interest if I paid back fairly quickly I would be okay with that. From what I have seen, most members want some altcoins as collateral and I agree that is a good idea. I have been getting into them but I have just miniscule amounts. Anyways, I do trade stocks and have currently around $450 in cash and held stocks that I could liquidate easily and repay you if all else fails. This would be a worst-case scenario as it would kill me to get rid of the small amount I have left in my brokerage account but I would for sure if I had to to keep my word right. Although I am pretty new here I plan on sticking around for a while, I'm not just a tumbleweed scammer that will take your loan and be gone with the wind. Here is one big reason why I will be here: I plan on joining a signature pay-for-post campaign as soon as possible, ha. Anyways, I am an honest person. I know you can trust me and make .1 BTC profit, or you will not trust me and not do that. Either way you see fit is alright, I had nothing to lose with making this post. Anyways, I could send you screenshots from my Scottrade brokerage account and could show you recent trades with settlement date (aka available money). If you are asking why do I need this loan? Well honestly I am personally thrilled with the BTC economy, protocol, and community. I want to jump into it head on and participate in as many ways possible. If you look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=520374.msg5757910#msg5757910 is the thread I made asking if anybody else traded stocks because I was thinking about selling my stocks and investing it all in BTC. Oh also, if you are in the US I can call you, email/FaceTime, I don't know. I don't know if that means anything to anybody, ha. Anyways, if you guys are interested in making .1 profit on 0.3, or have any questions, just ask.

Lol guys, I'm pretty sure the black X is just on there for the sample, as a security precaution against someone easily stealing his design. If not then.... I don't like your design ha.

It looks alright I suppose. The background pattern I'm assuming you made looks decent. I think you need to make the BTC a little more eye-popping I guess. Make it stand out more, maybe have it bigger and/or glossy if that makes sense?
