1061  Other / Off-topic / Question for business starting with BTC on: June 06, 2014, 04:12:35 AM
Hey guys-

Posted this in development & technical discussion, but had no response and I'm not sure how many people go on there. A close friend of mine has a growing business and I have talked him into letting me help his website out and update/add some things. One of the things that I'm going to implement is the option of paying with Bitcoin. Before going further, we are not looking for a third party service like Bitpay, etc. to handle our transactions.
Currently the only option of buying his products is PayPal. When you click "add item to cart" it immediately takes you to his personal PayPal account. (I could probably change this.) I have heard of problems with PayPal and sites that also use BTC, can anyone confirm this and go into details?

This is what my tentative plan was:
Since I had heard of some BS between PayPal and Bitcoin, I was just going to have a receiving address for us listed, as well as a email address they can reach us at to confirm their purchase. For now I was planning on telling them a unique "Satoshi signature" in the response email that they would put at the end of their amount sent. I.e.- "235" so for a 0.05 purchase it would be 0.05000235 BTC sent. Quickly thinking about it I imagined not too many people paying with Bitcoin starting out so I will have more time to develop later on.   -AND-
I was going to have all of this info. in a picture instead of text, that way it couldn't be indexed and picked up upon as easily by PP or other sources. I know it would be slightly more of a pain for the end user paying with BTC as they couldn't just copy and paste our address. Also there would be a note and a check in the email to confirm they typed out our address exactly right. A link to my site's "What is Bitcoin?" page would also be included.
What do you guys think of that? Any ideas, comments, or concerns? I know many of you are Highly Knowledgeable about the Bitcoin network and web development, and I feel more comfortable asking and trusting you guys.

I was also considering the payment option of me emailing them a unique date and time that they would send in a signed message to verify their address. Do you guys think this would be a much better idea? I personally like the Satoshi signature idea. Not really sure why.

Thanks in advance to any and all help, comments, and discussion. My fiance and I are taking our daughter to the park now for an hour or so, and I will check back then.

Thanks,
snarlpill

Not sure if this the right subforum, but I don't really see how it could be the wrong one. 1063  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchange war: comparison of crypto-exchanges on: June 05, 2014, 04:37:46 AM
Site is awesome man, I really appreciate all the time and effort you must have put into it. I'm currently working on a section for my site about buying BTC, i.e. the different methods of obtaining it, what exchanges are trustworthy, etc. I will definitely include a link to your site though, as it has more comparison info. than I could ever hope to include on there, all in real-time too. Nice job!

P.S.- It is so refreshing to see a Bitcoin favicon that is not the orange BTC or the gold coin BTC  Wink
1064  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: June 05, 2014, 03:42:20 AM
I think some of you guys are trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel where there might not be one...
The fact that UpDown.bt was on here Again today, and did not even pop in the thread once, seems very disrespectful to me. He knows you people are commenting with endless questions and concerns, and sending PMs to him, and he can't even bother to at least pop in and say "Hey sorry guys I've been really busy but all new members will be confirmed," or something like that.

Meanwhile, all of you are still advertising his service for what might turn out to be free advertising. Personally I have a family and a young daughter, if I am spending time on here posting it is taking away time from them. Therefore I switched to Stunna and Prime Dice so I know I'm not wasting my and my family's time.

Just my 2 cents. UpDown.bt, feel free to pop in here anytime and defend your signature campaign/business.
1065  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: June 04, 2014, 08:15:23 PM

Hey I just saw this and fixed the original post. It is actually http://www.cryptoplanet.co/earnfreebtc/  if anybody is interested. I am going to try to add new sites/methods almost daily.
Better. Good site too! No annoying coin url links from what I saw.

Thanks for the kind words man! It is Far from finished, but I try to update it and add new content daily. I'm going to try and add 2-3 new Bitcoin earning/free sites today, as well.

Nope, no annoying CoinURL links, because, well- they are annoying, like you said! Although monetizing your website IS important, ESPECIALLY if you give out Bitcoin like my faucet, I am not trying to annoy my visitors/users. 200 Satoshi might not seem like a lot, but users have drained over 0.13 BTC from my faucet in just one week! And I am not a rich man, lol. I'm doing whatever I can right now to afford to keep refilling it for my visitors/users until I start getting more from advertising.

If you like my site and would like to support it, please check out some of our advertisers' pages. I plan on increasing the faucet rewards/decreasing the time interval between draws over time as the site grows. Keep checking back too, as I will be adding a referral system in the near future where you could get 25-50% of your referred users awards, for Life!

I just checked my site, I have no problems with my BTCtalk.org links opening in a new tab/window. Have you tried
Code:
<a href="https://bitcointalk.org/index.php" target="_blank">Bitcointalk.org</a>
   ?
Apologies if that seems obvious, I don't know how new you are to writing code.

I wonder if this thing still works, but oh well here goes..

And umm.. hello everyone. I got here because of motocoin and now kinda falling deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole.

Wilppuse-

Here is the section of my website that provides information and resources on how to get free BTC as well as earning BTC: http://www.cryptoplanet.co/earnfreebtc.html
In addition, there is a faucet on my site that will give you little bits of BTC every 90 minutes. If you have some questions about Bitcoin and the network, click on "What is Bitcoin?" in the top menu for a lot more education and resources.

Hope this helps,

1068  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 04, 2014, 09:53:03 AM
Dogecoin fans should check out http://FreeDoge.co.in my brand new faucet that gives you a chance to win upto $100 in Dogecoins every hour.

Looks smooth and simple, and nobody can argue with more free cryptos. I like how you can choose to withdraw at anytime rather than the once weekly payment. I went ahead and threw one of your banners up on my site's faucet page to help get the word out.

1069  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: June 04, 2014, 06:53:38 AM
While it is up to each individual end user to do research and use their best judgment, I will not personally endorse any BTC gambling site that is not Provably Fair. Even if it paid much higher than the rest, a little bit of extra Bitcoin is not worth being part of something that could be a scam and helping that company lure more and more new users in to be robbed.

Please note that I am not saying that UpDown.bt is definitively a scam, just that I think it is not Provably Fair and could be subject to manipulation. I guess only time will tell in the case of the site and the signature campaign.

Changed signature from UpDown.bt to PrimeDice. I know Stunna is trustworthy and legit, and I also feel like UpDown.bt's gambling site might be easily manipulated in favor of the house. I only post relevant posts, no BS.

Thanks,

I''m resigning from this campaign also due to some investigating that I did on his website that we are trying to promote. Updown.bt IS VERY DISHONEST AND FRAUDUELT!

Go to the website and look at the history. You will see people taking bets almost every minute. Go to the blockchain for any of the instruments whether to take a bet up or down.

Once there, look at the transaction history of the person taking the bet. Almost 90% of all the betters have almost 7000-8000 transactions. There is no way a human can take that many bets in such a short time.

He basically has bots that keep putting bets to make it seem that his website has lots of transactions. Very dishonest.

I highly doubt he is making any actual income. Hence very risky to trust his signature payouts without escrow.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO TRANSPARENCY on where he is getting his data from.

The "PLANS IN THE AIR" has a x1.30 factor instead of 1.75x, which he changed about a week ago or so. He probably lost too much money using 1.75x.

Absolutely no email support.

Nothing larger than 60 second options which pretty much is a Gamble. Only way to make money this way would be to probably trade during news where the market is very uni-directional.

I've yet to check out the site, but will now.

However, just because there is bots making thousands of bets on his site does NOT mean that they come from him. I know just-dice has bots betting almost every second. And it sounds like you have to bet on very small price fluctuations, which is perfect for a bot.

So for you to call him VERY DISHONEST AND FRAUDULENT, solely based off of that, and to tell everyone he is not to be trusted, I think that is past the line.
It almost makes me wonder if you are affiliated with another company that does signature deals...

If he was so dishonest and didn't pay, this whole thread would be filled with people complaining about not being paid. I'm going to support him/it/they for now, I have no reason to doubt them.
1074  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: NEW! bitcoin-scratchticket.com | Up to 23X Payout | FREE Bitcoin New User Promo on: June 02, 2014, 04:44:59 AM
Your argument is incoherent. Our odds chart is 100% accurate. At the start of the 1.6X game, you have a 60% chance of winning because you have no information as to where the "X" and "Bitcoin" symbols are hidden. And believe me, after hundreds of thousands of games played, the statistics have proven to be correct. If you understand combinations and permutations in statistics theory, you can easily calculate the odds of winning any of our games. As you select locations, your odds of winning from that point forward do in fact change, and we conveniently show you what they are as you play. For example, if you have revealed 5 "Bitcoin" symbols, and 8 "X" symbols, in the 1.6X game, you would have 2 remaining choices. Your odds of winning at that point would be 50% (as one uncovered spot would have a "Bitcoin" and the other a "X", but you wouldn't know which was which).

Just because a system is random does not mean it isn't fair. Betting on the result of a coin flip is betting on a random system - but it is fair as long as the coin's physical properties yield heads 50% of the time when it is flipped as expected. Provably fair means that there is no way that we can manipulate the game play to our own advantage. We mathematically prove this, and if you click the link on our site and read the information presented, you can understand what this means and why it is accurate.

Also, if you know about odds and percentages as you claim, you can easily derive the "house edge" from our odds/payouts chart.

If you don't like the game, how it works, how we present it, or understand how we guarantee it is fair, don't play. That's cool . However, I can 100% certify that all odds presented in the odds chart are accurate, and that our games are 100% provably fair (as has been independently validated by third parties). If and when you understand this, we would love to welcome you as a player.

Boom, Roasted! For real though, I thoroughly enjoyed reading through that and thought that you handled that pretty professionally. He clearly does not understand the "Provably Fair" concept with the algorithms and math.

i know about ods and percentages!

"you can only prove fairness if you remove the randomness or in other words fixed numbers or geometric increments, otherwise you can only state a possibility after x amount of games."

This part made me chuckle. I'm pretty sure you could fix/rig games in your favor Way easier with fixed numbers than randomization...

I'm working on a "play" (gamb.ing) section for my site currently, I will be sure to have a small write-up about bitcoin-scratchticket. I'll have to check out my ref. link on there.
I just wish there was a way for US users to.. err.. "get around" to it with the games.
1075  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Project Development] CoinWorker.com - earn bitcoin in your browser in minutes on: June 02, 2014, 04:32:25 AM
guys you are wasting your time.

not worth it !  Angry Angry

 Grin

While I do believe you think you are trying to help people out here, speak for yourself. And I am not trying to be shitty here just fyi, not attacking you.

However, CoinWorker Does pay higher than most BTC earning sites. Your withdraw automatically goes into the pending stage after reaching 180+ points. Currently, 180 points on there is ~0.00282328 BTC. 1 point is equal to approx. 1568 Satoshis. So even the quick, low-paying 1 point tasks pay more than an hour of faucets. It is possible to earn all 180 points in an hour or so (depending on the tasks and if you are lucky to see 10-100 point ones), which equals about $1.80 in USD right now. For a Bitcoin earning site, that is actually quite a bit.

Also, $1.80 an hour might not be shit to you or me, but in some countries $1.80 USD is a week's wage. Additionally, it is these earning sites and faucets- like mine and many others, that have gotten Many worldwide people started with Bitcoin. This is great for them and us and I say welcome to our community. So you see, while you might not see the point in spending your time on this, it does not mean it's pointless to everybody.

Just saying my peace.

Though I was only in your signature campaign for one month, I thank you for paying out and being a legitimate member of our Bitcoin community. I'm working on a "play" (gamb.ling) section for my site currently, I will Definitely include Ritz Grand Casino as a legitimate casino.

By the way- I saw on your site where it said you can now also gamble with Dogecoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, etc. How does one do this and if not implemented yet, when do you think it will start?

Yeah, I agree man. I'm surprised it's not against the rules, but, I guess this way allows more social and economic freedom.
