281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: February 23, 2018, 06:30:07 AM
I had heard a lot about Decred and never looked into it that much. Definitely wish I would have sooner. It honestly sounds too good to be true but the proof is in the pudding.

- Many coins will start PoW and then switch to PoS but Decred is the only one I know of that is a PoW/PoS hybrid and plans to stay that way, making it arguably the most democratic and for-the-people coin around as well as
  one of the most secure.

- The governance model is unmatched. The method of suggesting changes to the network and then validating or rejecting those changes is straightforward and sensible.

- The dev team is unreal. I haven't found a team with these credentials outside of the top 20 marketcap, and there are teams within the top 20 that aren't nearly as good.

- The dev fund from each block allows all of those skilled devs to continue working on Decred as long as the coin maintains a decent value, and based on what I've seen I think that will be true for the foreseeable future. One
risk is that miners and stakers are less incentivized to maintain the network but that does not seem to be an issue.

These were the big takeaways that got me excited about this project. I hope this will get others to check it out as well.

Well said, correct on all accounts!

Any recommendations on which staking pool to use? or does it not really make a big difference

Doesn't really make a difference. You can see various pools' stats here: https://dcrstats.com/ (bottom of page).
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 18, 2018, 05:28:00 PM
why is this centralized scam project still here? zero innovation, zero decentralization, ban it already.

You must have sold off around $300, eh? Please be more salty, it usually means a good pump is on the horizon when we get children shouting "scam!" lol  Cheesy

Not to mention...you realize "banning" a blockchain does absolutely shit right? As in, it can't be done effectively? Go research "distributed technology". Grin

Is there a place to see ICO progress? What is the ICO contract address? From what  I can tell, the token purchase process is like an e-commerce checkout. Feels odd in an ICO...

Too much FUD lately in here, guess there's a pump incoming.  Cheesy

lol for real though, it's a recognizable trend! Glad I'm not the only one using FUD as a metric  Cheesy Wink

Guys, there are quite a lot smart contract platforms on the market at the moment and new ones are coming. Do you think Ethereum will retain leadership among such a platforms forever? For me, it might be more profitable to invest in lower market cap platforms (Lisk, Qtum EOS, ..) ?

You're making the assumption those lower market cap platforms will see the same kind of attention Ethereum has, and increase in adoption/usage/value at a greater rate than Ethereum (otherwise, it would be by definition, less profitable)....it's a bold assumption Smiley

And do those platforms have a leader with an IQ of 257 like Vitalik Buterin when Albert Einstein and Bill Gates both had an identical IQs of 160? The saying goes whatever the other platforms can do we can do better, why bet on less intelligence?

Stephen Hawking (IQ score of 160).
Marilyn Vos Savant (IQ score of 228) ...
Christopher Hirata (IQ score of 225) ...
Kim Ung-Yong (IQ score of 210) ...
Edith Stern (IQ score of more than 200) ...
Christopher Michael Langan (IQ score between 190 and 210) ...
Garry Kasparov (IQ score of 194) ...
Philip Emeagwali (IQ score of 190)
Vitalik Buterin (IQ score of 257)

Do you see my point?
Get real, 257 my eye. He would be listed in guiness if he was even close to that. I bet I can beat him at chess

The real issue here is that IQ isn't a very good metric for intellectual capacity. It's just a widely known one :/

$ETC : Welcome to the Beginning >_> the ETC/ETH flippening!!  Cool  weeee

ETC is literally going nowhere Ethereum hasn't already been. Why do you always seem to shill the worst coins gembitz? I feel bad for your portfolio Cheesy

What's the reasoning behind the chosen bonus structure for the ICO? Everything is geared, in multiple ways, to award those who contribute as soon as possible. Usually this is a red flag...

All ICO make big bonuses to the first depositors! We are not alone in using this system!

That's true, many do. But the most typical I've seen is "x% bonus if you invest y amount of Eth (or USD equivalent)". Yours is especially interesting though because of the compounding bonus. It's built to incentivise people to invest more than 1 eth, within the first 3 days, and while there are still >400,000 tokens left. Any particular reason for this structure, or was it just because other ICOs do bonuses?

Clearly it was YOUR fault you missed the airdrop, can't you own up to your mistakes or are you a child?: You were given 4 days to complete the registration, sadly you forgot to open your email during that time. Sorry to say you really did missed the Airdrop.

Why are so many people still responding after so long? gemblitz is a well known troll. When he is not trolling decred, he is usually doing something similar for bitcore and bitsend and their own airdrops he is not eligible for.

Either he is laughing with all the replies or he is seriously disturbed. Or maybe both.

YOU WANNA SEE WHEN FRAUDSTER DECRED DEVS ARE EXPOSED>_>JUS STICK AROUND ~ BITTREX INSIDERS TRADING ~ KERPLOW Shocked weeee

lol well...I've been sticking around for 2+ years so far...nothing but profit  Grin

You keep being butthurt though. I'm sure its profitable, too  Cool

I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO WAS SCAMMED BY THIS FAKE AIRDROP~ FRAUD IS FRAUD. :\ pfft
You sold them so cheap and now you're crying lol

Nah, he didn't even get the airdrop cuz he couldn't follow directions in the email. Check the link in one of my earlier posts. He literally admitted to it and posted the email. Just a silly child trying to play in a grown up game. People like that can't do anything but blame others for their mistakes lol

Today i read a very interesting article "Ethereum Users Are Losing Money and Devs Don't Quite Know What to Do"

Fortunately, i was not a Parity wallet user, but very disappointed that Vitalik, Yoichi Hirai and Hudson Jameson, all three of the six prominent team members, rejected all ETH recovery proposals.

As i see it, 16,475 ether just frozen, and could be recovered, but ethereum philosophy is higher that someone`s losses. Typical programmer`s cold mindset.

https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-users-losing-money-devs-dont-quite-know/

I lol'd. You kinda glossed over all the various impacts that would be made and potential effects besides the fact that funds would be recovered. In such an issue, the fact that the coins themselves would be unfrozen is only a small fraction of what needs to be considered before making any changes.

More like "logical mindset". It's good to have an opinion, but unless you're in the position of a subject matter expert in the code, I'd leave such decisions to those who are  Tongue

disclosure: I'm an investor in a couple projects that still have funds frozen from this Parity issue.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AES] SMART HYIP ECOSYSTEM - PAY DIVIDENDS TO TOKEN HOLDERS! on: February 07, 2018, 03:29:33 AM
Hi dev, is the dividend payment to token holder will be in ETH ?
or in AES token dev ?
Thank you

in ETH!!!
The revenue in ETH will be distributed in proportion to the number of your tokens.

What is the total supply dev ? if the total supply is low, it is very great to hold this token.

1,000,000  total supply . We forecast a rapid increase in the value of the token. But this is not the main source of profit. If ICO successful , the dividends will be 907% of the price of the token.

Dev, what will be the source of the rapid increase around 907% that you explain ? i thought it is because the low supply.
the good thing for me is AES has a low token supply.

How precisely, do you think, is low supply coupled to an advertised growth in value? I absolutely don't understand how one could make such an assumption.
