I'm re-syncing local wallet with new trusted peers, then switching to solo as soon as I can change the reward recipient.

It's important for miners to keep mining in order to clear this backlog of transactions the attack as created. I suggest anyone with >20tb to put in the effort and start solo mining.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 21, 2017, 11:05:12 PM
Here is my update:
Online wallet is offline.I can't mine.When i click on start mining,nothing happens.
Local wallet won't start.I can't aces my coins.Nothing is working.
For now,all is dead.

Go to your install directory "%appdata%\roaming\BurstWallet" run "run_safe_mode.bat" give it a minute to start up then launch your burst wallet.  Most pools are still down so you can change your reward assignment to yourself to solomine for the time being.    Please note: You will have to wait for your local db to update which can take sometime depending on many factors.  #HardcoreSoloMine

Maybe Adam isn't all bad.  I did not expect him to offer up all the burst being gained from this attack to the dev fund.   With no devs left in his group I can only assume he plans to turn it over to lexicon.  If he is serious and actually goes through with it maybe he does want to help the coin.

Source about the dev fund?
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Hybrid PoW/PoS | btcsuite Devs | Tons of New Features | Go on: July 21, 2017, 10:49:29 PM
im mining at decredpool.org with 0% Fee
i have a geforce gtx 1080
Statistik:
[2017-07-21 22:46:49] GPU #0: 1899 MHz 17.31 MH/W 198W 74C FAN 54%
[2017-07-21 22:47:04] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 1080, 3462.39 MH/s
[2017-07-21 22:47:18] accepted: 24105/24272 (diff 76.691), 3438.51 MH/s yes!
[2017-07-21 22:47:21] accepted: 24106/24273 (diff 2633.423), 3437.10 MH/s yes!

im getting 0.05-0.06 Decred per day is that ok for my graphic card?

i calculated at https://whattomine.com/coins/152-dcr-blake-14r?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=3400.0&p=198.0&fee=0.0&cost=0.2&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate my earnings with this stats:
and at http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/DecredMiningCalculator/path?hashrate=3400&powerCost=0.2&poolFee=0&power=198

all 2 say me that i should earn with 3400 MH/s 0.09 Decred per day why im getting just 0.05-0.06?

is it better if i do solo mining?

That's a very small variability. Mining calculators are not solid figures set in stone. They're made to provide estimates (accurate estimates, but estimates all the same). Everything looks normal to me.

No, you won't make shit for a very long time if you solo mine with 1x 1080.  Cheesy

Honestly, I don't know much about burst besides mining... I didn't know there is in-fight of burst team members. Thanks for above comments to reveal this info. So, can I conclude that this DDOS attack that aiming to destroy burstcoin is from somebody in burst team (or ex-burst team)?

I do not think it is from burst-team.  They are the most heavily effected by it and the timing is just off.  I THINK it is coming from the "faction" to try to drive burst-team away but I have no proof of that only massive amounts of well timed smoke.

As for crowetic I was not trying to start a debate on his intentions.  I personally believe them to be good, even though they were horribly carried out costing many much much more than me.  All of the animosity for him stems from 1 very stupid decision and he stuck around trying to make it right.  It wasn't until AFTER he blew up the leadership of the faction calling out the BS they were pulling and returned to burst-team to be repetitively kicked in the balls that he took the "fuck you guys I'm going home" approach.  Again I do believe he should have stood there and accepted every bit of frustration his share holders wanted to take out on him and then moved forward.  He could not/ would not do it.  It was not an evil master plan though, it was a mistake for which he found the consequences too high and peaced. He should not have done what he did, he should not have left, he should have stayed and made it right, he was not a conman though I do not believe.

I don't think he meant "burst-team". He meant, "burst community".
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 21, 2017, 12:08:12 AM
this is in part, why crowetic leave burst...
and the price go down

Pretty sure Crowetic got taken out by the tribalism.  He originally went along with another group and ended up getting conned by the leadership into misappropriating funds all to the leaderships benefit.  When he went back to the dev team rather than being accepted as somebody who genuinely wanted to do the best he can, who also screwed up, he was treated as a "betrayer" the scum of the earth.  I do try to stay out of their in-fighting but that is what it seemed like.

If Crow hadn't screwed over his asset shareholders so hard, I'd be more willing to believe it as you put it (because it seems the way you desecribed, I agree). But, he fucked over all of em (us), so I'm much more tempted to think he was nefarious from the beginning.

PS: I appreciate your descriptions of the "tribalism" and "factions". Quite apt!  Wink

how do you sell or buy when nothing works?

Who are adam and focus? Where is the info about them from?

Adam Guerbuez. He's the cancer that's attached itself to Burst.  Sad

Scammer, spammer, neo-nazi, bankrupt megalomaniac. He's the admin over at BurstNation, the forum where everything is censored and he only lets people talk about his assets (only good things though). Seriously, they have forum rules, one of them being you can't say anything negative about the forum, even on other forums, else you get banned.

I highly suggest you and anyone else who reads this to stay away from anything he touches.

Ethereum is doing excellent. It will rise again

Actually in this very moment it is tanking like there is no tomorrow...

Matter of opinion. Smiley Dipping in terms of BTC. Pumping in terms of USD.

Really though, this is absolutely nothing new.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 20, 2017, 12:10:56 AM
What would you say is the mainpoints of ETH over ETC? Is there really any difference at all besides the first being more expensive than the latter? What do you guys think.

-Development team
-Development community
-Market penetration

I don't think ETC will ever really compete with ETH. The Ethereum chain is already seeing tons more usage than the ETC chain. In 5 years, when many of these projects have launched and are growing, no companies are going to consider using an alternative blockchain, simply because of the above points.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 19, 2017, 02:20:51 AM
damn that btc downtrend has been truly killing my portfolio until i realized i still held ETC from the ETH i hold - successfully split with the updated splitter @ http://chainsplit.com/updated-eth-etc-split

Umm.. yeah.. Scamaroonie..

Yup. Someone else posted the exact same thing a couple pages back I believe.

What is wrong with AMD GPU at Dual Mining ?

My Dual Mining Settings:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal MyAdress -epsw x -dcoin sia -dpool stratum+tcp://sia-eu1.nanopool.org:7777 -dwal MyAdress  -dpsw x -ftime 10

Try to play with -dcri key. Set it about -dcri 10 and press + / - in miner window to find the best value

Thank you, i think it is ok now.

What are your clocks for your 1080ti? I'm only getting ~32.5mh/s Eth and ~2450mh/s Dcr while dual mining.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 18, 2017, 01:31:59 AM
That's only because ETHc is cheaper than ETH. Thinking about a world (that I'm sure becoin dream about) where ETHc is at the same price than ETH, quickly shows how becoin's answer rely on nothing but dogma.

Both ETHc and ETHf are ETH.
Make sure to point out which one do you have in mind when you talk about ETH.

Only to you. The rest of crypto identifies Ethereum as Eth, and Ethereum classic as Etc. Stop being a fucking clown and confusing others.  Cheesy
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 18, 2017, 01:30:48 AM
Why, I thought ETH was for smart contracts and ICO's, for for payments.

ETHc is for smart contracts. ETHf is too expensive now to be a fuel for smart contracts and is used mainly as a pump-and-dump coin.

Although this sound terrible but this the reality of the market at the moment. What happening it's against the spirit of this revolutionary project but everyone like to make huge profit and that is the reason ETH will remain top currency in market.

Not really. Actually, not even a little. becoin fails to mention the dynamic adjustment of gas prices. As the market price of Eth goes up, the cost of gas goes down. This is automatic; the protocol takes care of it. Take a look at the block explorer: compare some random transactions from when Eth was ~$10 compared to when Eth was ~$300. See that giant difference in gas price?

Besides, who exactly is creating projects on the classic chain? The blockchain shows Etc contract executing is a tiny fraction of the same on the Eth chain.   Wink

Dear Claymore
Please, pay attention on dramatically decrease hash rate with epoch growth.
I test it on my rig with 3 RX580 4Gb (use -benchmark key) and here are results:
epoch #120 ETH: GPU0 29.380 Mh/s, GPU1 29.532 Mh/s, GPU2 29.944 Mh/s
epoch #130 ETH: GPU0 29.146 Mh/s, GPU1 29.273 Mh/s, GPU2 29.700 Mh/s
epoch #140 ETH: GPU0 27.567 Mh/s, GPU1 27.664 Mh/s, GPU2 27.992 Mh/s
epoch #160 ETH: GPU0 21.309 Mh/s, GPU1 21.397 Mh/s, GPU2 21.666 Mh/s
epoch #180 ETH: GPU0 18.493 Mh/s, GPU1 18.509 Mh/s, GPU2 18.795 Mh/s

So very shortly we got decrease hash rate on 5% (between epoch #130 and #140).
Please fix this bug or explain what to do.

That isn't a bug. As epoch goes up, hashrate of many amd gpu's goes down. It is known.  Cheesy

The numbers would have to be pretty spectacular to justify the $1000+ price tag of the card. Otherwise ROI will be much too long.

It's so pretty though!

I'm hoping they pay for themselves, that would make me satisfied.  If they make me enough to build a new computer I'd be thrilled.  If none of the above happens, I just have to hope my wife doesn't figure that out!

lololol! Glad I'm not the only one swimming those waters!  Wink Cheesy Grin

I began to understand why the exchange BTC-E called ETC scam. The exchange primarily cares about the safety of customer funds, and under the guise of a ETC it could be a coin-virus to get purse files from ETX. For example, I trust the bitcoin.org site and the files on it, but I do not trust the new sites, it will soon be in the bitcoin like classic, I can not trust this coin if it does not have links from bitcoin.org

Better would be to trust the github. If you only take what's from that 1 site, you're gonna lose out on a ton. Also, this isn't the ETC thread Smiley
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 12, 2017, 11:28:18 PM
Guys, dumb question.....

I got 6 x gtx 1070, 4 cards are powered with 2 pci-e Cables that have 2x8 pin each, and 2 cards are powered using single Cables with 1x8pin.
I guess my question is, is there any Power difference/problems if you connect more than 1 Graphics card with 1 single pci-e Cable?

There is no rules : it's depends of your GPU BIOS.
For the GTX 1070, 1 PCIe 8 pins is enough and some cards have only one.
The manufacturer put a second PCIe 6 or 8 pins only for those who overclock a lot they 1070.

It is only 1x8 pin on my cards.
What I meant by my question is that some of my pci-e Cables have 2x8 pins and I have used these Cables to connect 2 cards in 1 Cable.
So thats 2 cards powered up with 1 pci-e Cable. Could this be a problem? Should i only use 1 Cable for 1 card instead?

Would love to know this answer myself.  My small understandings of such things tells me the wires in those cables are rated to carry so much power (current x voltage). Right there it's gonna vary depending on the quality of PSU/cables you bought. For the cables with multiple pin connectors, I'm guessing they would do fine supporting 2x low-powered gpu. Probably less so 2x high-powered gpu.  Where that line sits, and which side of the line holds a 1070....I wouldn't know.

9.7 Results:
ASUS 1080ti - 2000mhz clock / 5200 memory

Eth: 30-31.5 mh/s
Dcr: 2250-2350 mh/s

Anyone else with a 1080ti have results to share?

Is this dual mining performance using 1080 ti? If so could you please tell me your watt usage from wall per gpu?

lol yes its dual mining performance (why i posted dual results). No clue on power consumption per gpu. What sw can show such things?

On another note, after letting it mine for 24hrs, the posted hashrates went up nominally (~32mh/s - ~2400mh/s)

Hey guys, my Eth rig recently went down and tonight I went about troubleshooting. For some reason, it was refusing to power on. Unplugged it all and went for 1x gpu. Powered on booted into Windows fine. Tried 2, works fine.

Now this is where it gets weird. As soon as I plug in another pcie cable to my power supply, the rig refuses to power on. Not just not booting into windows; completely no power. If I plug the powered riser into a 3rd gpu: no power on. A couple times while I was trying different things, it wouldn't even power on for the 2 gpus which worked a minute before. Then (seemingly randomly), it will work again for only 2x gpu.

What I've checked/done: checked all power cables/plugs on mb. Swapped power supplies with a new one.

Any ideas where I should start troubleshooting? I really thought it was my PS, but I can't believe I'd have 2 go out on me. Maybe my MB is going bad?

Ethereum platform and smartcontracts could be used for example for decentralized casinos, insurances and many others
Please take into account that Ethereum project  is still in beta version
But the same applies to any new platform today.
It is not an Ethereum's unique feature any more.

They even say the similar smart contracts feature is going to be applied to Bitcoin network.
But, I haven't explored technical details on how exactly they are going to implement that.

Yes, smart contracts aren't exclusive to Ethereum platform any longer. Still, majority of devs are choosing Ethereum for some good reasons:
  • R&D minds behind Ethereum platform (very experienced, very very smart, demonstrably capable and responsive)
  • Maturity of the tech (multiple years now of iterative development and testing)
  • Development tools are available, are mature and robust (relatively), and are still in active development themselves (Solidity and assorted APIs)
  • "First mover" advantage (in terms of devs): Lots of devs have played with the platform, produced code, created tools, etc. This greatly lowers the entry bar for new devs to onboard/learn
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 09, 2017, 06:28:49 PM
Crowetic raised some issues in his goodbye message, which look important. Nobody tried to respond. Some claimed that he is a selfish fraud, but this is a very cheap response.

Do not forget that cryptocoins do NOT assume any sort of trust between parties. Being a selfish fraud is perfectly ok, and is rewarded with money on success.

If there is somebody who is really working on burst now, I would like to see a detailed response from them to the issues that crowetic raised, like lack of security and scalability of the network. I want to see an argument, not howls about that crowetic is bad.

True, I'd really like to see a discussion about those issues he mentioned.

People tried to respond, but he deleted them. There is still developement in work, nothing has changed, no new issues have been found. The Update on the Core to the newer NXT Version is back in work after the short break. Everything continues as usual. Nothing to worry about. Everything is in work. Burst will be better then ever soon!

Regards

If everyone would stick to mining the same pools and not pool jump, plus not stop and start their software and things like that over and over again, then you won't run into these kind of problems.

lol I promise you that has nothing to do with how well Burst performs. You described basic functionality Burst is meant to do (switching reward assignments).
