So the bottom is most likely tomorrow right before the meeting here in the US. What you peeps think, can it go to 650 or is that grasping for straws? I got a feeling after the meeting everything is going to shoot. Not a lot of mining cards showing up on Ebay as yet. The price has dropped for them around 20% in the past week(used ones that is)...

What meeting is this?

LOL I thought I deleted that.
I was just doing a test to post videos here.
But anyway, that's a brazilian farm of asics mining Decred.
They are baikal giant B

Super jelly. I'm anxiously awaiting my obelisks to ship...

What kind of asics are those?

40 billion dollars just poured back into crypto since last night, lesson is just hodl eth don't try and trade it

Good news is the 14 day chart on etherscan.io has turned up and daily transactions are back at the level when we were at 1140. It's the network or Facebook effect it can't be stopped.....only bad mouthed...

40 billion increase in market cap is not the same as 40 billion "poured back into crypto". That's a very important distinction for a new trader make.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hsrminer - Nvidia mining software for various algos by palgin&alexkap on: February 03, 2018, 07:56:05 AM

Dude, I've told you on three separate replies that you can not possibly use coins OR average difficulty as a measuring tool. How many more ways can I explain that without it sounding insulting? It's just not possible, the fluctuations of difficulty are not predictable and can not be averaged. It can be 25 one block, 125 the next block, then 90 the next, then 300 the next twenty. You can't use it at all as a measuring tool. A simple way to measure is by hashrate and shares submitted AT the pool. It doesn't even need to be concurrent with both miners, it just needs to be at the same pool that uses a static difficulty and not a variable difficulty that the pool regulates.

Also, I haven't heard the 1060, 1070, or 1080 getting big gains from this hsrminer. Seems to work much better on the TI's.

Who cares if each block has a different difficulty or you can't know what the difficulty for a block will be before it is solved? You will certainly know the difficulty of a block after it is solved and as long as the pool finds blocks at a sufficiently rapid rate you can simply add up the difficulties for each block as they are found by the pool then divide by the number of blocks found - simple as that. I *assume* this is how minethecoin.com determines the average difficulty over the past 24 hours, but I admit I don't know for sure.

But if people here won't be satisfied unless I run the miners concurrently on the same pool, well, I'll see what I can do. It does not look like the official TZC pool will let me do that easily - you have to register with an email address, username, password, etc. - but a single-algo, multi-coin pool like hashrefinery or zergpool could work (although now we're adding the complication of not mining the exact same coins for the same times).

Ok dude.. One day you'll mine 400 coins, the next day you'll mine 40 coins. You can look at whattomine or any other website and they will give you the snapshot of how your coin forecast will be for that exact second. If you hit refresh in 5 mins, it can give you a number 10x that or half that. Concurrent mining is a harder way to do it but it would need to be the same pool, same coin. The simple way is just measuring hash rate and shares submitted at the pool for each miner over a 24hr period. I've already done it, It's 8% higher on hsrminer, I'm ok with that given the 1% fee.. I don't think it's anywhere near 8% higher with the non Ti cards, so it's very possible hsrminer isn't worth it for those but I don't have non Ti cards so I can't confirm..

There's nothing more difficult in this world than convincing someone of an unfamiliar truth...

in summary, we have to bag ETH, DCR and ADA, yes, yes, ADA as,in my view, Cardano offers the most elegant solutions to all known problems traditionally associated with cryptocurrency.

ETH - The best! I bought a huge number of coins, but the most convenient in my sight is the ETH.

The system of smart contracts allows you to create unique solutions.

Now we can observe the time of the formation of new technological coins!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2721661.0 - AES Best solution for invetors and admin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1598571.0 -  YOCOIN.

There are many other examples. All this thanks to the ETH.

These are just simple tokens.

So what? Even bitcoin is a token, token that can reflect the balance on relevant address, that is why it  acts as coin. ETH is also token which besides his  function  of utility can reflect the balance. That is why we   call it coin. But token is also acceptable.

You've got it backwards. It's a bit of a misnomer though, and it sounds like you're a bit new to crypto. Typically "coin" is the label we apply to crypto tokens which have their own blockchain. "Token" is the label we apply to pretty much everything else (i.e. they're called "ERC-20 tokens", not "ERC-20 coins").

Also, Ethereum wasn't the first to introduce the ability for users to create their own on-chain crypto token (e.g. NXT or Burst, even Waves I think came before Ethereum). For sure, Ethereum does it much better (in my opinion) than any other platform, but the fact remains, you can't really say "all this thanks to the ETH".

If this project is paying token holders dividends, how are you going about regulatory status? Will US investors be able to participate in ICO?

To continue my post from yesterday:

Weiss Ratings, an independent rating agency of financial institutions, has released today the nation’s first-ever grades on cryptocurrencies by a financial rating agency, despite a massive Korean cyberattack on its website. Weiss gives Bitcoin a C+ (meaning “fair”) and Ethereum a B (“good”). None of the cryptocurrencies covered currently get a grade of A (“excellent”).

Below is a sampling of Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings, selected randomly to illustrate a variety of strengths and weaknesses:

Bitcoin (rated C+) gets excellent scores for security and widespread adoption. But it is encountering major network bottlenecks, causing delays and high transactions costs. Despite intense ongoing efforts that are achieving some initial success, Bitcoin has no immediate mechanism for promptly upgrading its software code.

Ethereum (B), the second most widely adopted cryptocurrency, benefits from more readily upgradable technology and better speed, despite some bottlenecks.

So Ethereum is currently the highest rated cryptocurrency out there? Or some project received rank higher than ethereum.

Exactly, ETH along with EOS are the highest ranked. Here are the rest:

B Grade - DCR, ETH and EOS.
B- Grade - ADA, NEO and Steem.
C+ Grade - ARK, BTC, BTS, GBYTE, DASH, DCR, IOC, LTC and NEM.

C Grade - AEON, ASCH , BLK, BLOCK, BURST, BCN, XCP, DOGE, ETC, KMD, LSK, MNR, NAV, NBL, NXS, NXT, PPC, PIVX, QTUM, XRB and XRP.
C- Grade - BCH, CLOAK, DGB, XDN, ETN, FTC, NMC, RDD, SKY, UBQ, VIA, XWC and ZEN.
D+ Grade - AUR, BTG, EMC2, GAME, NLG, MEC, ETP and PURA.
D Grade - EXP, GUP, NVC, POT, QUARK, RISE and SALUS.

Fixed it  Grin  Wink

Sure ETH deserves B grade. Nevertheless  its turing-complete language  that alows to write any contracts is in fact a double-edged sword. On one hand it helps to solve  any reasonable computational problem but on the other hand   it has the potential to make the system vulnerable. Our world is unfair.  Bad guys/rivals  may intentialy launch poor contracts  to discredit  platform the aim being to lower the grade.

You missed the point: I moved DCR to "B Grade".

Decred deserves it: it has the most advanced, and arguably, the most sophisticated and "best" long-term governance solution implemented. Already implemented and in use. The coin and its unique PoW/PoS was literally built to solve all the short-comings of BTC, while retaining small max supply (21 million), improving on "halving" schedule, asic-friendly algo (BLAKE256), hard-fork resistant (due to PoS voting), etc etc.

Sorry for the shills, but those in the know see how undervalued the coin is  Wink
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: January 28, 2018, 06:30:09 PM

I have installed Decrediton - signed up on a pool - copied API code in wallet - send 4 DCR to the wallet - turned on Automatic Ticket Purchase

So now i only have to let the wallet open`? Or do i have missed something?

Current ticket price is ~77 DCR, so you'll need to send more to your wallet. Check here for current price: https://dcrstats.com/

Actually, pretty sure Decredition shows current ticket price as well.

1 decred is so expensive.  to have 77 decred ..is a fortune.

Not at all, when compared to the earning potential. Especially considering that DCR is probably the most underpriced coin right now. If Dash can be $700+, DCR is cheap as fuck @ $90-100
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: January 28, 2018, 06:26:51 PM
I finally managed to accumulate enough DCR for the ticket Smiley

Had to sell a lot other altcoins but DCR seems worth it.

So did a little reading and solo voting looks a too techy for me (command lines etc.) when compared to pool voting.

I'm wondering are the rewards the same (minus the pool fee) or is it better to solo vote?

I see that there are 3 wallets. I suppose Decredation is the latest and I should download that?

Does Decredation have an automatic ticket buying option as I want to participate in staking all the time?

Thx

Smart move.

Rewards are the same, minus pool fee.

Decredition is the shit! Smiley

Yes, auto-buying feature is available.

Decred is a sleeping giant, has been since the start. I like the underground vibe of it, you don't hear a lot of people about it actually...

Speaking from my soul! Liquidity might be a small problem right now, but Decred has just so much promise. So so much!

Pre-investing in alt-coins, now I've seen it all,  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hey if you guys can sell someone on that, more power to you.

I have a whale I need to sale some water to. Maybe, after this fails, you guys could help me with that, lol.

This company is quite promising, in my opinion. I am very pleased with the fact that the project can share a common set of APIs, mistrustful interactions and no compromises.

Company? What? Ethereum is not a company, nor is there a for-profit company supporting its development.

Looks like Bitmain came out with asics for sia, do you think its possible they have or soon will have asics for Decred since the algos are similar?

very likely they surely don't lack of expertise for doing that could be the foruth competitor after oblisk, dcrasic and baikal.

It's not over until it's over....

From SIA developers regarding Bitmain Asics...

We prepared for something like this by adding an extra feature to the SC1. We can do a soft-fork that slightly changes the PoW algorithm which would invalidate the bitmain ASICs, but allow the SC1 units to continue working.

Let the games begin!

I stumbled upon this on another thread. This adds an unexpected layer of politics to the matter.

It's a bit chopped there, cuz he later goes on to explain how activating such a fork is likely not the best interest of the miners or community, since it would hurt the ppl much more than it would bitmain.

Anyway...here I am crossing my fingers they don't announce a DCR asic they will launch before my batch of Obelisks! Cheesy

Reading these post's are much better than watching TV. The bubble has burst, OK. - Now what? LOL! Opinions are like a-holes and everyone has one...he-he...I like putting in my $.02 too. The facts are that all long term hodr's of Eth are currently looking at massive profits in a free fall state and the strong pay little attention to it. The weak are most likely all ready cashed. Leaving the new comers in a tizzy of indecision. The peeps that don't wear these things on their sleeve are the big winners. Onward Soldier...

lol well said! Glad I've been a long time miner/hodler Cheesy
