claymore "-tt 80" doest that
this should be in next update but i have so many thing going on recently that i it might take a while Tongue

Hi,

Is there any speed improvment, your os vs. Windows 7/10 ?

I have a small rig with 2 GPUs and Win 7. I don't know if is it a good choice to migrate to your os.

i guess it will be more less the same,

Hi

i choose mining ethereum only and no save option, automatically back dual mining eth+sia

i will fix this now , few moments

Ok fixed, thx for report

Are the RX470 GPU supported on new v1004 ?

no, there will ve separate line for rx400 su[port , it will be v2000 perhaps.
anyway i have it working but i dont know if there is sense releasing it if overclocking isnt supported in linux (still isnt , we need to wait some more time)
2146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1004 - root password and eth-only option on: September 19, 2016, 07:32:45 AM
i could but in order to mining there you neeed account.

I only will be using pools where you can enter ethereum address as worker address.
2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1004 - root password and eth-only option on: September 19, 2016, 06:53:10 AM
and the ability to change pools to the most profitable? also with a miner that is not pay for play? like the new sgminer-gm with eth?

i started implementing sgminer-gm its in the /root/miner/sgminer-sg
but didnt had time to finish it due to different config managment.

There will be my pool with fee 0% for another few months.
I just have to make one Tongue

v1004 Update:
- added new miner option (mining eth only) without siacoin
- i give you guys root password: miner1324
(i dont advice to touch anything or change anything because i if you broke something then i wont help Smiley - it is mostly for debug purpuses or some rare cases when you need to install something
user login info: miner/miner
root login info: root/miner1324
2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX470 windows:120watt - linux:150 watt ??? on: September 16, 2016, 05:40:58 PM
ok the problem is that linux doesnt respect memory, core and voltage values from bios.
It overrides by his own.
So we need to make tool for overclocking and undervolting to get the same results as in windows.
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 16, 2016, 05:35:28 PM
from 2 days i am 100% focusing how to mine rx480 with full hashrate and also with undervolting (in linux). Its very hard... becuase there are no avaible tools for undervolting under linux with rx400 series

anyway, i will integrate sgminer for sure, and meaby ethminer as well.
only rason there is claymore is:
a) it was best when i released distro
b) i dont have time right now to focus on development, i need to pass ubuntu and rx480 and solve few issues, then make few mor rigs for my and my clients and then i could spend more time on simplemining os.

anyway about changing pools ....

there are 2 ways.

a) only my poools will be available (and in future there will be very easy to take 2-3% for my service from this pool)
b) open system for all pool but how will i get my fee (someday when OS will be stable enough) - will be there upfront payment ?
it is hard because i cant do 1$/month for each rig because one rig will have 1 gpu and other will have 6 gpus or more ....

again, i dont want make bad decision and regret that in future Tongue
whad do you think guys ? meaby i should do little survey and ask all my users how do they prefer to pay little fee in future: my own pool fee or some depositing...

once again, when i open pools for changing then it will be like this:
- pool fee
- my fee
- meaby miner fee (as it was now with claymore miner)

and now user cant pay 3 times fee Tongue - it would be best to pay only one, and that will happen only if he will be using my pool and that will be only one fee to pay ....
thats why i dont want to open pool change - anybody agree with me ? or disagree ?

2151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 16, 2016, 06:18:54 AM
i have dilema because i could give root password accually because i have nothing to hide and if somebody dont want use my simpleos he will find ubuntu anyway.
Anyway, when some people will install and some stuff and i will make new auto update which will perhaps upgrade linux kernel then modem you just installed could simply stop working Sad
Then you will be angry that i pushed uto update and some other people....
And i know now that there is so much changes in krenel with amdgpu driver that upgrades will be from time to time.
My concept was to make auto-update system which in some cases could fuck up the rig.
(for example internet from usb modem will stop working)
I could give root password but i dont want anybody telling me that something custom of his stopped working.
What do you think ?

All current updates were only updating my custom scripts (to be compatible with new database schema on website simplemining.net.
So most updates wont do damange but when i will do separate system and my scripts updates then in future there could be mess...

I would like to do this the proper way and not to regred my decision in half year.
Anybody have an idea how to make it right ?

Beside that i can release root password becasue "AmoreJaz" made me understand some things.
Ok, so because this password has parts of my other passwords, i will make update which will change root password on all rigs and then i will tell you what it is  Smiley

with default kernel 4.4 its the same.

i am using bios with 30MH and 100 wattage while in linux :

it is doing 27MH/ and taking 155watts Smiley

Here is photo of some sys info, as you see, clocks are ok i guess, but i think that undervolting is not working.

2154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / RX470 windows:120watt - linux:150 watt ??? on: September 14, 2016, 07:17:07 PM
Hi guys.

As you know, in linux we cant modify powertune, core, memory and volts.
Thats why i am setting all in Polaris Bios editor.

Anyway strange thing.

In windows card is doing 24MH and takes 120 watt from wall
while booting the same rig in linux takes 150 watt from wall and motre less the same speed (slightly lower)

What is that ? Is windows using some extra options or wattman is doing something while in linux its not  ?

Here are my settings:

Code:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F -epsw x

 Huh
2155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 14, 2016, 08:54:51 AM

I see 60W in gpu-z: https://tinyurl.com/he2wvnk, your memory strap is probably fine (27,5Mh/s), try to use lower core/mem voltage, i mean very low and see what happens.

Can you post in PM your values in polaris editorze?
2156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 13, 2016, 09:39:13 PM

I also am working on RX480 tuning which gives me 29MH/s with 170 watt from wall which is nice.

Glad to see rx400 tests are going well.
25Mh/s for 115W with RX470 4GB is even better Wink

tell me one importnat thing.
Where do you see this 115W ?
in gpuz stats or from power meter from the wall ?
because gpuz values are not real.
When i tested RX470 yesterday i had those results:
27,3 MH/s 178 watt(wattage metered from the wall and this is card only , i substracted rest of system watts)
2157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 13, 2016, 09:23:14 PM
My system isnt opensource.
If you want free system then make it yourself.
Sorry but mine is pay for service not opensource.

if you have other ideas i am happy to hear but for now you wont force me to make it YOUR WAY.....

Only you are talking about this whole time.
There is no single one other guy who want the same thing so sory - i wont do system only for you ....
If there will be more people telling the same idea - then i will rethink this.
You - ONE guy - cant change my whole concept, sorry ....

Edit:
All i hear from other people is to pay for this service as fee.
And to achieve that i will have to make own pool, which i will make but or now i dont have time to do this.
Anyway as i see my system wont have fee at least for 2 months from now. It might be extended.

I also am working on RX480 tuning which gives me 29MH/s with 170 watt from wall which is nice.

P.S - thx for writing in my thread, you are bumping my threat to the top many times Smiley

2158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 13, 2016, 07:36:49 PM
ok i will rethink that

while Dwarf pool is DOWN "Due to technical maintenance the website will be offline for a short period of time. All your shares are calculated, all pool servers work" it is moments like this that the owner of the rig should have access to his machine, redirecting to a valid pool. or making the best descision for that paticular instance! unfortunatly all access is not allowed and if the one and only person is not infront of the computer or gets in an accedent and is in the hospital while all the hash is sent to a dead pool for the three weeks, no fallover pool can be set because you locked your os up,

just one more reason to open it up

You still doesnt understand my service.
Its not free for all Ubuntu which can you use and modify.
Its my custom OS with custom scripts, i will do what i will think is good for my system.
You can tell everyday about opening system but sorry - its not that kind of system i want to have .....
If you want open system then go and do it by yourself, sory but mine wont be that...
2159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 12, 2016, 08:02:53 PM

2160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SimpleMining.net Easy OS v1003 - Overclocking and stats on: September 12, 2016, 07:48:20 PM
ok i will think about this.
so your goal is to give root password to all ?
i must think if that wont open rigs to hacking ...
i would need to block ssh connections, there are so many security issues so its not that simple Sad
