You can try  asus tweater https://www.asus.com/us/site/graphics-cards/gpu-tweak-ii/ a fork of MSI afterburner and you can use MSI afterburner remote server without using  Awesome miner, i own awesome miner pro an it is worth the money.

you can try MultiMiner  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2762501.0 it looks like DEV was picked back up for now .

2% fee is normal, no mining program would be lost, no profit, I do not understand why it's still being solved, work has to pay

Yeah checking that https://zcash.flypool.org/miners/t1NEpmfunewy9z5TogCvAhCuS3J8VWXoJNv/payouts

Making 20 Zcash a day = 13000$, 390000$ a month.
Yeah I m quite sure 2% is REALLY NEEDED, it cant be less cuz ...getting 13k a day is not nuff.... lel

...rly...

I would love to make 13 K a day and do nothing ...... that said i can hear the BS Come backs that don't mean shit.

Hey patrike

I have another thought i don't think any one has asked for yet or may have there is a lot of pages to go though for Awesome Miner .

to save you time can you make a add on or add some kind of template that can update to any custom miner we want to add with full states some like the Generic miner but improved to beadle to add the full miner there a lot of mew soft ware miners coming out that are looking like they will blow a way CM and a few others over time. plus you do some amazing things , I'm not saying that to get you do some thing  , you do, the thing that still supersizes me the most is the updates you up pump out an don't ask for more money that a lone keeps me using AM  an telling others about how good AM is . not that i won't pay i will ... Again I'm not kissing ass to get to some thing it's the truth until it's not.

144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.8 (Linux / Windows) on: January 16, 2018, 01:35:28 AM
I for one am happy with a 2% fee.  My hashrates are better than 5% compared to ewbf so I'm ahead.  Much rather keep the fee at 2% and have the developer continue to work on and finetune the software than allow people to pay nothing.  I hope the developer makes squillions and why shouldn't he?

If people aren't happy with the fee, and he's already made it clear he aint gonna change it, then use some other software.  Why waste time bitching about it?

it's called principle/morals but i don't expect any one to understand that kind of stuff these day ...

Good that my whole post got deleted  Roll Eyes

Writing it here again, then....

You would definitely get more ppl using your miner than EWBF's miner, if you reduced the fee to 1% or at least made it configurable with standard fee of 2%, but with configurable range of 1% up. I am not saying you should develop for free, but the fee has to be justified. Who wants to give you 2%, fine, who does not, he can then configure it to 1%, lets say.
Makes sense right ?

Otherwise, the Sol/s gain you get, using your miner over EWBF's miner + your fee of 2%(while EWBF's fee is configurable and can even be 0% with --fee 0) is just not justified. We gain sol/s, but we lose 2%(sometimes even more as reported elsewhere) on fees.
Also the gain using top hardware(1080ti) is very minimal(sometimes null and then you have to count the 2% fee) over EWBF's miner. Maybe you could improve that as well to attract more ppl with top hardware.

So, u want more ppl to use your miner? You want me to use it? Then think about what I just suggested.  Wink

Write your own miner, reduce fee to 1%, and then watch how others will say, 1% is too much, make it 0,5%, you will do that and people will say, disable the dev fee completely, since 0,5% is too much. It is not him who is greedy, it is you actually you and all other people, that ask for reducing fee.

Get 1% more for you means almost nothing, if you are not mining on 20+ 1080 Ti, but for him, it would meant a lot. Try do some math...

So all of you, stop whining, you won't get rich anyway even with 2% more. And stop being smartasses, to tell the developer what he should do with his miner,... if you really think you know better, make your own, or hire someone who will make one for you.

This one is overall fastest and most stable, still actively developed, I guess it is ok to be "more expensive"  Wink
This is exactly the point and you are completely wrong.
For him it shouldnt really matter as his miner would be used and is used by thousands if not millions of ppl. he is doing thousands of $$$$ every day and thats what he needs ? no. It was called "greed" and it is that. Simple as that.
Leaving 2% is fine, but it also should be adjustable. If someone wants to give 2% then fine, if not adjust it then to whatever. Even with --fee 0 he would be stil lgetting thousands of $$$ a day cuz not everyone disables/fiddles with fee and cuz of some ppl just want to pay him. So no, he wouldnt "banktrupt". But 2 % is just too much to justify the extra gain(if any) over EWBF's miner. Like I said, with my setup of 1080ti's its not making any noticable perfomance difference + i know theres 2% fee, which is sometimes even higher(use google to see)! Its just not worth using it. Maybe if I had 1070/ti's then maybe .....

If more ppl pushed on him he would make it variable. No pushing = no changes...

This is  why i some times don't give up . it's greed if anyone was to look back a few few pages they would see were the DEV said basically he was more worried about his fee ... then those that lost time and money back when some thing went wrong . an then backed down and tried to say different when other miner dev wouldn't go that far or even comment and fix it fast '..

I don't get them either I'm paying this guy for a service and I'm told to shut up pretty much lol . I never once said work for free, i do indeed agree he needs some form of motivation to keep it going but don't Ignore the hand that feeds..while all the other software miner give you the option of turning stuff off  that i use and if i come across another miner that does the same thing i will push the issue,I know I'll leave the 2 % fee on, i do when i use Clay more miners. its the principle/morals to me. an I'm sorry they fail to see the point ....

Hi guys is there any way to connect this miner to nicehash legacy? if there is please help for setup. thank you.

do mean mine on nicehash with dstm's  ? .

stratum+tcp://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357
or for SSL connection:
stratum+ssl://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:33357
username: YourBitcoinAddress
password: x

either port works.

nop he want to can use nicehash legacy app with dtsm but for that it require some deep file modification & some much more coding, depend how much nicehash team was hard lock there app Wink
But best for him is to goo on https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMinerLegacy & open a new Issue & request Dstm to be add

cool

NO actually i wouldn't and was one of those who pushed Claymore into adding the --nofee flag to his miners and I leave the fee on with CM's miners an don't use the flag ... so the DEV here is being Greedy ..  an sometimes you have to make a point, to get something done and if i could code like these guys can i would offer it free an ask for donations but wouldn't require it . so i won't  stop whining as you call it when i see a in justice being done to some extent an i don't want it free . Does the recent Meltdown and Spectre OS patches affect the DSTM Miner's performance?
Has anybody done any before/after benchmarks?

From what, I read the recent Meltdown patch (KPTI) affects any programs that call the Kernel frequently such as netwoking, SSD disk access and CUDA memory copy operations from host to GPU.

How often does the DSTM Miner call the Kernel, anyway ?

I'm looking into this on both Operating-Systems. Not all OS-patches are finished currently... so yes, I'm aware of the of the increased systemcall time.
Does the dstm miner perform the Blake2b hash on the CPU and transfer the results to the GPU by calling the CUDA driver and the Kernel each time ?
If "yes" then it can be affected by the increased systemcall time due to the OZ Meltdown patches.

As far I know dstm miner only mines ZEC and can't dual mine unless you use a program like Awesome miner . I don't think the Meltdown patch will affect it ... but CM eth dual miner possible could sense it can dual mine Blake2b coin types. Ofc i don't know shit lol .....I understand what you mean !!! Smiley .... that's just a example or answer to a problem that might happen that's not limited to one coin .  i just wanted to add to it ........

I saw your other post but didn't notice it was deleted ..

Good luck getting the Dev to lower the fee, a few of us have asked in the past, the Dev is Greedy, he will call it some thing else but he is ... I not afraid to tell him or anyone either an have, I don't mind paying a fee, in fact I agree we should pay some thing... my whole point is like you said you get more if you give .... less if you don't even if it looks like you are .... so if some thing better comes a long most will drop using dstm's miner if the Dev does it right like EWBF's miner did.

an sense EWBF's is no longer being updated, an i want full use of my NV GPU mining Zec, i have to use dstm's miner sense it is about the best one to use right now and kept updated but not that great .. again i don't mine the Fee, it's the greed I do mind an being told it's not greed when it is ....an if the updates for  EWBF's miner picked back up, i would use it again. an Ive been pushing dstm's and was one of them who got support added to Awesome miner ..

and Ive wondered how the fee works with this miner. is it so many seconds a hours or are we mining and that extra hash we seem to get Goes to the DEV .. i haven't seen much explained about the Fee on how the fee works ...an yea Claymroe and EWBF's let you adjust it or turn it off . I leave it on with those miner because i know I  can turn it off but I do wonder am i really getting extra hash with this miner or does it go to the DEV all the time ...

I figured out why i can't connect to any ssl port with dstm, it's awesome miner, AM won't let it enable encryption, I asked there after i did some more TSing .

I won't use any other remote start up soft ware because i all ready have to much other junk running, so i don't need to add more .... plus Awesome miner does all i need it to .

Hey folks.

im trying to switch from nanopool to slushpool.

Nothing is working with slushpool.

error im getting:
connected to zec.slushpool.com:4444 failed

I am thinking it is slushpool issue, but want to touch a feather here in case i missed something.

I have tried the following:

miner --server zec.slushpool.com --user USERNAME.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

miner --server zec.slushpool.com --user WALLET.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

miner --server us.zec.slushpool.com --user USERNAME.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

miner --server eu.zec.slushpool.com --user WALLET.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

miner --server us1.zec.slushpool.com --user USERNAME.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

miner --server eu1.zec.slushpool.com --user WALLET.workername1 --pass z --port 4444

this is the only help they offer:
https://slushpool.com/help/get-started/getting_started_zcash

try might work
Code:
miner --server us-east.zec.slushpool.com --user USERNAME.workername1 --pass z --port 4444
and set up a account with worker names it seems to work better that way .

I Mine on slushpool. with dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.8  an no issue ....

Getting Started - Zcash
1. Create an account with Slush Pool

Sign-up and wait for a confirmation email.
    Login to your account.

2. Configure Your Device

The login credentials for your miner look like this:

URL: stratum+tcp://zec.slushpool.com:4444
userID: userName.workerName

Please note that we do not support Zcash addresses directly in the command. Use your Slush Pool userName instead.
workerName is optional, if you do not provide any it's fine. Our system will automatically create auto worker for you.

The servers can be chosen from the following list based on your geographical location:

There is a Problem i see about to happen in the US mostly because of our new tax scam law unless you make millions, the more the Price goes up on these things the more import tax we pay, the more the IRS might look into it and ask were is that 10 k coming from for that 10 k miner an then the IRS version in other county's starts butting in were they don't belong or really need to be all because of money, even if you follow the rules ...  just some thoughts.

I hope Miner Maker understand this before they go an start selling miners for 10 K plus each . no complaints just something they should consider if they really care about mining  and don't let greed get the best of the whole game.
I'll pay it in time but hate the idea the IRS, will all ways be on my ass form that point on even following rules.

Don't tell me the IRS won't they will even following rules, if there is high amounts money/cash/gear whatever we/you/I call it, involved an I don't mean below 10k .they will expect it for 10 k buys an enforce more over that 3 k buy,the price doesn't have to go up because coins do, sigh .......to me that's just another excuse used to be Greedily or justify greed, that in the end will hurt all of us including the ones that cause it.
I do understand big business won't matter/care price wise and that's the Problem which is why it is so fucked up, sadly, they don't care !!!, what impact it has, which does effect us all, including them in a bad way over time..

Just my 2 cents worth which means nothing but I had to point that out, i will be getting a few avalon miners soon unless i die first , or that's my plan, I still won't buy bitmain ...it's a moral Issue with me and bitmain.

I have run a 400 GPU farm with absolutely no A/C. If you need help, please contact me on skype (Kotarius). I can save you a lot of money.

I'm quite curious how this is done and what climate you're in that no AC is used.  I live in the Midwest, United States and in the summer, the ambient temp will far exceed what you want a room full of computers to be at.

I'm having my HVAC company come over next week to consult on adding a supplemental AC/system to only cool the server room(s).  If I can do this with mostly moving air and a little cooling (in the hot summer days), that'd be ideal.  If I had to choose between shutting down the farm on those hot days and paying for electricity to cool it, that's an easy choice.

The "pressure" aspect is interesting, I'll definitely do some additional reading on that.

Good stuff guys.

I'm in southeast USA an in the summer, i use fans over AC other then maybe AC to keep the house cool and us in it . The fans run 24/7 or when ever i mine, i don't always mine 24/7 can't stand it but love it, if that makes sense . You have to move that hot Air and AC alone just won't cut it . it's misleading to think that AC will some how cool everything with out moving that cool air over something hot to cool it . TO me AC was invented mostly for health and comfort in the Summer times but led to other uses over time .. an AC still can't replace a good cheap fan for fast instant cooling when it's needed the must..

You can run your farm and still keep it cool with fans over AC an use AC to keep your self cool in the same house ... but the Power bill is still gonna go up even with just normal AC use and no farm running.
With the farm running full force and AC, it's actually won't be that much more in cost if you do it right .
