241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My residential Solar + Mining farm on: December 10, 2017, 12:40:42 AM
were hoping to be solar by next summer and were not renting it because the GOV perks you should get even if you rent or part of it  you don't get but if you Buy it you get it all, to me the company's that rent out solar are F*** you over, all you get out of it is maybe cheap Electricity no increase in poverty value etc ... and they get 1000's in cash you should get even if you rent for going solar.. but that's how the GOV set it up ripe off the little guy and give it to the rich ... an that tax cut they want to do to us in the US is bad ..... which is not law yet.

Don't pay 40 k for any solar system on any house/home the Price is dropping that fast .. at most you should only pay 10k if that Ive seen some system were i live go for 7k for a 10kW system or less  ... i would shop around before buying a solar system for a house/home and don't rent.

Where is this? United states of Trump?

I wonder to , don't worry that a-hole won't be around much longer and i hope the democrats learned from this once they get control back an they use it right ...after all every thing we have in the US was done for the people by the people or by the Democrats with the Republicans fighting it all the way an once the Republicans got control they can't get shit done  an what they want to do will hurt us an make things worse, i always thought it was the Democrats causing problem's like all most everyone was saying, was i wrong  ..I learned a lot with the want a be dictator we have for a President in the US. I'm 61 and never really read the  Constitution for the United States of America in detail with trump I had to.

cost of build solar?

Avg cost in the US around 5 to 10k or less for a full solar system you can use like you do normal Electricity .. but buy it don't rent it .

You can buy a Portable system but I'm not to sure how well they work and are they worth it ? ..just for mining if that's what you want .

i want full solar so i don't have to pay the Electric Company like i do now i know i may have to for night time use but selling to Electric Company is a nice feeling knowing they have to buy it back by law in my state ... an I'll max run it because i can ...

And i was told don't know how true it is, you can buy it over sea or out of the US even cheaper the reason the cost is so high in the US is greed and what GOV lets them do to us and there not held accountable for most of it, so they keep doing it .

In PCI subsystem Setting: PEG 0 and PEG 1 set to Gen1  you may have to set that to auto i couldn't get a Linux OS to run on a 4 card rig till i set it from gen 1 to auto .

MSI Motherboards
For ALL GPUs

Under "Windows OS Configuration" -> set WINDOWS 7 INSTALLATION MODE to DISABLE and set FAST BOOT to DISABLE.
Under "Integrated Peripherals" -> set HD AUDIO CONTROLLER to DISABLE.

For RX Series GPUs (in addition to ALL GPUs section)

Advanced Mode (F7) -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> PCI-E Subsystem Settings -> set 4G DECODE to ENABLE.
    set PEG1 to "GEN 2"
    set PEG2 to "GEN 2"
set PCI Latency to "96 Cycles"

For HD and R9 Series GPUs (in addition to ALL GPUs section)

Advanced Mode (F7) -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> PCI-E Subsystem Settings -> set 4G DECODE to DISABLE.
    set PEG1 to "GEN 1"
    set PEG2 to "GEN 1"
set PCI Latency to "96 Cycles"

I building one now all i need is the case and PSU with four CPU's for xmr mining I might build two more after i see how this one works out.. an gonna keep miing with open air rigs when i use GPU's, i did think about using a server MB and Case for that ..
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: You have a 5k budget to spend on mining equipment. What do you do? on: December 09, 2017, 04:56:10 PM
1080 ti there better then AMD and i was one who thought AMD was the best, till i bought two 1060 3 and 6gb and 2 1070 one is the normal 1070 and one is a ti  an one 1080 so far there great and much better then AMD but some will debate that but I'm talking from experiencing it .I wish I had held out for NV cards when i bought 8 AMD cards and bought 4 to 5 NV cards an got more hash over all using less power with 3 to 4  nv cards then what 4 AMD cards do . Like i said some will debate that but they do and are better then AMD, i was a hard core AMD user.

I haven't bought a Vega yet, that's next on my list, just to see what it does ..

if you buy ASIC you can resell it but no were close what you paid for it in a year but more then likely it will have reached ROI by then or little longer if that's your end game when mining . so it's still worth it but then other issues may come up one being they are very loud now and unless you have a sound proofed mining room in your house or a building out back some place your best bet is GPU mining unless you can live with the noise, if you plan do it in your home, an 5k or more  worth of GPU gear will fit about right in any home GPU mining .  an do pretty good. I still plan to buy one A4 + full miner next year and use it in my home but also have a sound proofed room i use a A4 not Plus in now no one hears.

you can per order a L3 + from bit main off there site for 1651 USD or  0.12035730 BTC; 1.21528122 BCH; 11.84276594 LTC but won't get it till March ....right now.I wouldn't order anything that far into next year because a company in Japan might start selling there new 22 th miner with 7 nm chips about then or a little later and you can bet a better LTC miners won't be to far behind.. so you will be getting F*** unless you can get it now then buy it now but not for then.

use network scan or external miner to set it up with ethos if you want to monitor it with Awesome Miner.

all three rigs are running ethos with AM monitoring them .

Cant mine Bitcoin Gold?

Yes dstm's ZCash can mine Bitcoin Gold.  I'm using it to mine Bitcoin Gold right now

Lower the fee and you might get less complaints an more users.

They don't mind paying it but it is to high at least with CM zec miner it's adjustable i know CM Zec miner only runs AMD cards but don't look at it that way because what happens if CM decides to give it NV card support most here now will use it,don't think they won't .

Do you consider selling the miner without the dev fee?

I would Pay as long as it's reason able and a one time charge .... with no fee  updates he will make a lot selling it with no fee an others will keep buying it and if any one wanted to use the fee version they could but most would op for the one time charge if i seem greedy then I'm greedy at least i won't lie and say I'm not .if i could write some thing like this i would share it with no fee, i hate using the word free in some cases because nothing is free some one pays it some place .

249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: November 28, 2017, 02:41:53 AM
Hi all, .. I have been using Awesome Miner for months now with my Antminer rigs (2-R4's, 2- S9's) without any issues.

I just added five (5) new Avalon S-741s and while hashing very well, I cannot seem to add them to as a new miner to Awesome Miner.

Searching through the forums... It looks like I need to figure out how to add "Privileged API Access" (I guess).

I found some instructions but am not confident enough to attempt changing my settings for this.

Can anyone help at the API for dummies level?Huh

to enable API access on any  Avalon miner form the A4 to A7 aka 741 below is a picture and command and were to put it for access of the api or Privileged API Access.

go to Advanced miner version i think they call it now, it's on the left hand side of the easy mode UI when you login into the Avalon main UI page ... click it then at the top look for the status tab click that then look at the tab below there is line of options to pick from pick Cgminer Configuration then on that page look for API Allow(Default: W:127.0.0.1) make sure that has
Code:
W:127.0.0.1
next to it on the right side then below the API Allow(Default: W:127.0.0.1)  is another box called More Options... to the right of, it may or may not be blank can't say if it's blank add this line
Code:
--api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1/24,W:192.168.1.0/24
then hit save and restart at the bottom on the right hand side an reboot the miner to be safe . then try to add it to Awesome with network Scan,

if it's not blank leave what's there an put a space at the end and add the above line then save and restart and reboot ... I'm not to sure were your at what i mean in the US etc you may have to change

Code:
--api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1/24,W:192.168.1.0/24
to 192.168. was 1 to 0.0/24 or

Code:
--api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1/24,W:192.168.0.0/24
if your not in the US.

Avalon 's software is the same it did not change .... nor did Cgminer or the way you set up API  Access with CGminer .... hope that helps

You do realise you have to pay 2% for this miner, when EWBF is free is you have the no fee option, you dont lose any speed either.

EWBF is not free it has a adjustable fee but you can mine with it free by turning off the fee and lose some hash . i don't mind the fee if the  DEV doesn't act greedy .. an i won't jump your ass for complaining either because saying some thing gets thing done being silent doesn't.

I guess this Pool is dead, to bad i liked how it worked they didn't get much from me when i saw no blocks being found but the hash kept going up i stopped mining there ....I'll come back if  i see it do something ..like find blocks when the hash goes up .

I actually don't know. Awesome Miner supports most miners that runs cgminer or compatible software with a monitoring API. If you have any of these miners, please give it a try with Awesome Miner and let me know.

Hi Patrike,

Here is the API Report for an eBit 9t miner.   It uses CgMiner.   It does not have a configuration option to enable anything API related.

dig a little deeper it's there in a few spots you can send API commands if i understand what you asking for right with GPU cards even with external miners ... under tools, i think is were i saw it... or you want a GUI with API links ? .....

Toptek - I'm not sure what you are asking or suggesting.   This is an ASIC machine, a bitcoin miner that I am hoping AwesomeMiner can support so that it can at least be viewed or managed through the GUI.  Patrike asked earlier for someone to post the results of API Report in AwesomeMiner.

Thanks

Never hit 7.5 Msol/s before (always check from pool side) but now things change , with DSTM 0.5.6 and awesome miner  4.2.1 above 7+++ for usual and hit 8.5 Msol/s sometimes  Shocked

Merry christmas

yup, DSTM 0.5.6 is nice ..   one rigs I'm building that only has two NV GTX cards a 1070 and 1080 with 1070 Ti due here this week coming some time ..when i was using EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner with the 1070 and 1080 no ti's yet

I was getting 980 h/sol some thing between the two OC, an using DSTM 0.5.6, i went up to 1.05 KH or higher same settings and it runs cooler ...

Any ETA for supporting XMR-Stak's new unified version?  That's pretty much all I'm running these days.  I so desperately want to use Awesome Miner and XMR-Stak that I'm considering writing an adapter program to emulate Claymore so I can feed XMR-Stak's data back to Awesome Miner.  But I don't want to invest that time if support for XMR-Stak will be coming in the next month or two.

I have all implementation for connecting to it as an External Miner ready, but it's currently hidden.

For the moment I have given up on adding support for it as a Managed Miner because this mining software do so many strange things, for example:
- It requires running as Administrator, which creates all sorts of problems when you want to auto start it or launch it from another applications. It's probably the first mining software ever that has this behavior.
- It doesn't simply auto detect devices like other mining software. It looks like it tries to detect the first time and then update the configuration file, but it would be too complex for Awesome Miner to know if it will work or now. I can just imagine all the support question I will get around how this software handles its configuration file and prompting the user for input on the command line when something is missing.

Even if I only support it as an External Miner, you could still add your own Managed Software, point to the XMR-Stak for API compatibility and then create a Managed Miner for this where you point to your xmr-stak.exe file. As long as Awesome Miner is running as Administrator (or you have some configuration of Windows to bypass this), it will behave like any other Managed Miner - but you are in charge of all configuration yourself.

Any thoughts on how to get the AM Remote to be able to launch xmr-stak because of the elevated permissions issue?    That is the only thing holding me back from getting this all working.  I thought I had it working by having AM launch my adapter app and the app then launches XMR-Stak and that does work but the problem is when I stop the miner in AM it only shuts down my app and not XMR-Stak as well.

If I'm not mistaken this XMR mining pool has a nice how to on how to set up XMR-Stak miner or Sgminer and use it with Windows, it tells you how to set up Group Policity's in windows 10 ... not sure if this is what you mean or are looking for .

I mine XMR with my GPU's from time to time.

This might help some I hate UAC i mean i  hate it and have it completely off Disabling it Through Group Policy's with no side effects ... with a clean install of Windows 10 Work station Pro.

Lack of fallover server support makes this miner UNUSABLE in a production environment.
Fixing that should have been a priority a WHILE ago.

Did some comparison testing on my 1070 ti rig between 0.5.5 and EWBF 0.3.4b yesterday - what I found was that DSTM gave a little higher hashrate when the cards were being run at a low power setting (under 70%, or 124 watts) but at that 124 watt point the hashrate was almost identical and EWBF started giving better hashrate above that point.
The differences were small though, and DSTM seems to vary hashrate a lot more which makes it hard to do a good comparison.

I also dislike the fixed 2% "developer contribution" level, MORE than makes up for the hashrate differences I've seen vs EWBF and EWBF lets YOU set the contribution rate (no, I don't use 0 - but 2% IMO is a RIPOFF when other software is so close on performance).

I agree the fee is high the DEV should let us adjust that not that it matters to me ,I would probable leave it on but don't be so dam greedy is my message to dstm the miner is good but don't fuck it up by being  Greedily ... . an don't give us the excuses your not at first i tried to play like you cared etc but that's how I see it an let the jerks put me down now with the same ole excuses he works hard ...but I agree there maybe should be a fee but don't get greedily and ruin a good thing ...

Awesome Miner now has Support for dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner  Smiley ...... if you don't know yet !!!. no more EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner for me not that EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner is a bad soft ware miner it's not ,dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner is better ...

Make sure your PC has thiis installed and read ,the read me for DSTM .

Awesome miner has nothing to do with that crash if that's not installed...that's a crash you won't see awesome report . run it with out AWESOME and you should see a POP up error .

I do have it running successfully with 4 NVIDIA CARDS.

- Configurable to display Antminer chip temperature in the miner list
- Configurable to display average temperature in the miner list
- Added feature to faster find a miner in the list, via the new Find toolbar
- Command line parameters configurable per pool for the profit switcher in the Options dialog, Online Services section.
- A miner group can be defined as the default group for adding new miners
- Network scan for External Miners will only consider IP address, not port, to identify if it's a new miner
- DSTM Zcash Cuda Miner supported
- Correction to Offline Detection of Managed Miners

Thanks for DSTM support ...and all my Nv cards ty ....

Question do you have a BTC address i can send a tip to ? .... ,like 10 bucks or so in BTC as a tip ? ..

Hi Patrike,

When using profit switcher and switch to Equihash coin, often my miner goes "Interface offline" and never switch to another coin until I restart miner manually.
It happen when EWBF return "ERROR: API bind error".
I tried to set rule to restart miner when it detect Offlne, but it doesn't help.
I set Trigger;
- Detect offline, 30 second,
- Time interval: 0hours, 1munutes, 0seconds
and Actions;
- Stop miner
- wait 5 seconds
- Start miner

As I just added new computer to mine (my 3rd Rig), I'm planning to buy Standard version but I want to make sure this problem to be solved before purchase.
This problem only happen to my GTX1070 Rigs (Rig 1 and 2) and not for GTX1060 Rig (Rig3).
Any suggestions?
First verify that the rule is Enabled (the checkbox). Next, please send me the log file (toolbar: Tools -> Log File) and let me know the name of the miner that didn't trigger the rule as expected. Thanks!
Yes, the rule is Enabled.

My miner name is Rig01 Local.

If there are any suggestions, it would be highly appreciated !!

Does it run with out using Awesome miner ? ....if not what is the popup error it gives with out Awesome miner you may need to install something like:  vc_redist.x64.exe I have noticed in the past if something is not installed  on your PC Awesome won't work with some soft ware miner an not tell you why or everything, you many need to run it directly to see if there is a error of some kind the miner may still shut down without awesome running, if it does then it's a setting you need to find out what that is ... i have also had some pools not work well with awesome miner running but that same pool will if i don't use awesome miner with the same settings i used with awesome miner ..

This problem only happen to my GTX1070 Rigs (Rig 1 and 2) and not for GTX1060 Rig (Rig3)below could be why the two PC don't have everything they need and the new one does ? .

or wait for the next update of Awesome to come out with Dstm Zcash Miner support that software miner does work  better then EWBF software miner or seems to, the only reason i don't use it now is I like Using Awesome miner more .

I have a mix of 4 Nv cards with a 1070 ti coming some time next week.
an i have  two AMD rigs with 4 cards each i may add one more card each to sense the prices for Amd cards are dropping in the US again .
