441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator - Pre-Order Group Buy - 280mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 + shipping on: July 23, 2017, 06:02:55 PM
New issue not sure what it is but the controller keep locking me out after so many hours of hashing the miner keeps hashing on nice hash or were ever i have it mining,  just can't access it though SSH or the IP UI from that controller online on any Browser but AWESOME MINER is able to keep monitoring the A4 and it does SHOW up on nice hash as hashing  until i do a reboot then i get Access back ..... sadly this IS why i wanted more access to the software so i can run it on a more updated  controller ( and not the junk controller it came with ). I was willing to pay for any cables needed to replace to a better RPI or PI type, i have laying around that will work much better, I could and can use that can run Ubuntu 16 with out issue sigh ... I know, I'll be ignored for the most part an they really don't care ...but I feel i need to express it again .

AND IT IS SO DAM ANNOYING I GET TO RUN LIKE IT SHOULD NOW THIS sigh. not upset more annoying then anything,I'd rather have my own custom controller, i can deal with it better.

NO i don't want to pay 150 $ bucks for a new controller i don't need when all it would take is new cables and Make that version of CGMINER OPEN SOURCE .. I don't even care about your openwrt type UI, I"ll either find one or come up with one on my own or use the black screen and do a start up file .
Hi, the price $150 per controller is too expensive compared with Innosilicon's quote of $50. For more tech support, please feel free to contact us. Thank you!

I sent a  email and fixed it by going back to 2.03 firm ware but doing that makes the miner run like shit . if it's not one thing it's another either i deal with soft ware lock ups using 2.10 or use 2.03 and deal with under hashing on most of the Pools i use . in my case , I'm 100 % sure it's not the controller and is the version firm ware i use .
.
SO again why can't we use our own controllers ...Huh. I don't understand why there is so much resist over that .. same as Bitmain .

it's like the jerk republic's in the US refuse to give us a Single payer system while the rest of the world has one .  and Single Payer health care works !!! ... make no sense.

why not make the A4 better ? ........

This will cost ....
444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: UNRELIABLE SELLER on: July 18, 2017, 03:07:40 AM
Use these guys they are honest they do refund back your BTC for any miner they can't  get they take your payment on and those miners are the same ones sold as new and are new ... not used ....

https://www.eastshore.xyz/

I bought  a A4 off them i got it when they said i would ... they re funded every one back at one time for L3 that bitmain pulled  and they sell BTC Miners.....

if your gonna by a btc miner why not by the https://canaan.io/  AvalonMiner 741 for 714 US  plus shipping ......direct from Avalon they are more trust worthy and offer a better miner over Bitmain's .
445  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Server PSU-powered GPU rig packages! Pico's, Risers, adapter cables, etc. on: July 16, 2017, 07:11:41 PM
Is there some trick to getting these Pico PSUs to power on the motherboard that I'm just not seeing?  I have plugged the Pico PSU into the 24 pin connector on the mobo.  Plugged the EPS pigtail into the CPU EPS connector on the mobo.  Then plugged the 6 pin cable and barrel adapters together and plugged that into my server PSU's breakout board.  I get a blue light on the Pico PSU so it appears to be getting power properly... but when I hit the power button on my rig, nothing happens.  If I unplug the barrel adapter and plug it back in, I see the CPU fan spin for a second.  This is the same behavior you will see if you are using a regular ATX PSU and you pull and re-plug the power cable on it.  So it seems like everything should be connected properly... but it just won't power on.  If I remove the Pico PSU, and plug in a spare ATX PSU to the same 24 pin/EPS connectors, everything powers up just fine.  So, I know there is nothing else configured incorrectly.  My server PSU powers my GPUS just fine, so I know the server PSU  and breakout board works fine.

Also, Finsky... I sent you a couple of PMs about my previous order a few weeks ago.  I know you have been recovering from your disaster, so I've been patiently waiting, but if you could at least acknowledge that you got the PMs and what the plan is for fulfilling that order, I'd be grateful.

The way i did it was make my own cable till the 30” PCIe to EPS adapter assembly with barrel jack pig-tailed for powering Pico PSU (shown WITH Pico PSU connected, not included) - $6

are in stock ... is take one of these https://centrix-intl.com/details.asp?Parent2ID=1&productid=13186 and found a cheap in stock 10 pack of these on sell on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G0Q4422/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it worked but i see the 30” PCIe to EPS adapter assembly with barrel jack pig-tailed for powering Pico PSU are in stock now, but I see he not taking orders yet . so i have to wait and do what I came up with till then and can use my 1200 and 2400 watt server PSU, while i /we wait ....
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: July 16, 2017, 12:23:47 PM
"Awesome Miner can manage and monitor up to 5000 miners. For these large number of miners an Ultimate Plus license is required. The license is only available from 300 miners and above, and the price of the license is $350 for every 100 miners. VAT will be added for customers in EU and other markets where required."

$800 bucks for the full software license with a limit of 200 miners .... $350 bucks for every 100 miners thats a daylight robbery....

Then don't buy it , that said if you consider the support and work that goes in to this: keeping it updated etc and there is no more fees after you buy it, to me, it's a deal ....  and worth every dollar ....  but again i bought into it when no one cared or gave it much thought, then I told some others how well it works, it seemed to me business Picked up then and not because of me, i may have helped some but mostly from others after they used it .

when i see some one asking for this kind of software I send them here and to be honest if he was to charge a yearly fee and it's reasonable, i would more then likely pay it .. that how well it has been kept running over the last year or so, i have used it .An things actually get fixed in time... and i don't get the normal BS other software DEV hand you, he fixes it and that was what impressed me the most ... every one matters that bought it ...
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lol so many newbs flooding the forum asking same questions on: July 16, 2017, 12:10:50 PM
I remember the days of mining BTC with a video card about the time the S1 came a long and killed off that idea ... that was when i started ......... So i actually was able to mine some BTC with two or three video cards ...before ASIC miner did what :  seemed, like it killed off mining with Video cards and CPU ..... but no ..  So I"ll keep mining ,i get the feeling GPU will all ways be good to use for mining no matter how questionable at the time it seems they may not be .. you never really know for sure till it happens .
448  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deliver to Canada on: July 16, 2017, 11:21:20 AM
Does anybody know whether Bitmain delivers to Canada? If yes what are the costs associated with and procedure at customs?

Bitmain will deliver to any place in the world the law in that part of world allows them to ... the cost might be stupid high but they will ..
449  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Large Order at BitMAIN (Guys need your help) on: July 16, 2017, 11:08:30 AM
Are you sure i can Send to them 284 000 K worth of bitcoins and its safe??

Who can I contact to make them cancel my orders, so that my stock which I ordered from previous orders (Once that bank didnt let through).
There is no more stock I think because my order has 3 day hold

Is anyone on these forums from Bitmain who can have a word with me ?
Its not 1 miner its about 160 Miners, which I though would be on a way soon..

Has anyone ordered by a wire transfer successfully before? Do you guys understand what Im talking about ? anyone has similar issuess?

They won't cancel the bitcoins but then there is another issue that might pop up depending on who you buy the bitcoins from hidden fee's some exchanges don't tell you about, if the money is taken direct from a bank in stead of storing the cash on the exchange then buy the bitcoins like Coin base, so be care full fees can add up, so i found out the hard way one time ...  and most exchanges limit how much per day per week per month you can buy at first till you build rep / trust with that exchange . it can take 7 days to get those bitcoins though some exchanges.

bitcoins are nice to use but a real pain in the ass @ times to buy or can be ... why I usually only mine and sell, an have yet to have issue selling coins like i do if i try to buy btc with cash .

or

DO what Unacceptable said if you can afford that much for miners then buy a ticket to China fly there and deliver the check in person...if it's a worry about how to pay, once Bitmain has the cleared cash in hand, you will get what you pay for ....or agreed to
450  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 6 hardware configuration help on: July 16, 2017, 10:14:45 AM
Hi guys new to this forum so hopefully im posting in the correct thread. I have (4) Avalon 6's and i want to know if powering 2 off my breakout board that has 8 pci-e 6 pin ports on it is ok? Also want to know about daisy chaining them off one controller. if i do that am i basically connecting the avalon miners together through the 2 jacks that are available on the back of them?
Thanks in advance.

That should work fine two per break out board  with 8 pci 6 pin plugs on the breakout boards ... what's the PSU ? ... use small fans some thing like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G05A2MU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

those fans are awesome, i have a few after I discovered them.

Blowing on the break out boards or the plugs might over heat and burn out  ( and that can be real bad ).....So Watch those plugs at first to make sure they only get Luke warm to the touch any warmer might be bad over time and you might burn down everything .... if  you use two miners per 2400 watt server PSU, which i hope you are, run that on a 220/240v 30/40 amp line not a 110/120v 15/20 amp line bad idea puling that much power off a 110/120 line .

You can daisy chain up to 6 devices PER AUC,  it's kind of unlimited PER RPI, the AUC is the real controller inside the the miner that runs it all ...so that's 6 per Avalon 6 .. if that makes sense ...

AUC: Each AUC can connect up to 6 devices.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon6

I still have one A6, I use from time to time ( I'm a hobby miner an use GPUs and Script miners, too) ..and thinking of buying one of the A741 aka A7, I'll keep calling it till they actually change to the name to some thing other then Avalon 741 aka A7 etc ...
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: where are people buying graphics cards for mining on: July 14, 2017, 07:18:52 AM
Just wondering how people are adding to their mining operations.  The GPU shortage has lasted a while.  Other than the obvious choices, are there any innovated options that people are willing to share?

I'm not buying cards right now but when i was i would buy them form any place that gave me the best Deal .... with rebates or not ....I was saving for a 1080 TI but changed my mind and used the cash for supply's and to learn how to make my own open Air frames by buying Mats needed to make them and that will save me later, knowing just what i need as i need it.

if your gonna pay 500 bucks for a RX 570 id just save 100 to 200 $ more and buy a 1080 TI and get more for the money, no AMD RX 400 or 500 series card is worth more then what they sold for before the shortage .

including the miner only cards which if I was informed right cost no were near what the greedy sellers are selling them for and what shortage of chips, if they can make the miner only cards and sell them, i don't see how there is a shortage of chips....or should even be any kind of GPU shortage..

thanks
That's pretty high based on my experience.
My A4's are running in the mid 40's

btw my one A4 runs  around 50 to 53 per blade in the summer so far and then when it gets cold here around like yours .. so mine is running like it should all but the lame software that they for some reason think will get stolen if they open source it, which it was open source to start with ... I'm sure so much shit would be fixed if they would let it, not by me, but others would love to ....

I ran across the zen thread and found this: figured I was just being lazy ha  Roll Eyes

Zencash:

GUI Wallets available for linux, mac, and windows:
Swing Wallet - https://github.com/vaklinov/zencash-swing-wallet-ui
Eleos Wallet - https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/eleos

Thanks for sharing this info! The stuff I dislike about these wallets is the amount of storage needed.

Swing wallet (ZENCash Desktop GUI Wallet on Windows): "On first run (only) the wallet will download the cryptographic keys (900MB or so)"

Eleos wallet: " First time installations may take awhile to load since ~1GB of cryptographic data must be downloaded first."

I assume we cannot delete the cryptographic keys after install. Given that, it is a lot of data being stored.

IF you plan to store the Nodes on your own storage i don't really think any of them will let you down load a min usually it's all or none but if you use a online Wallet  some have a extention or addon  you can down load the wallet i don't store is the ETC wallet i found this https://www.myetherwallet.com/ it does what mistg or any ETH wallets dopes ,  without the download ......you store every thing but the big download

the ZEC wallets right now are not to bad to down load and store and usually DL fast . i  do keep a updated btc  and Ltc wallet on one of my storage drives on this PC .

being #1 on whattoomine, leading the equihash family..how do you guys feel about zencash?

Did some research on it, sounds and looks good as far as platform applicability and stability.. still learning more though.

I'd like to mine it- but my wallets don't have zen holding yet, I know setting something up isn't too tough but what're your recommendations?

Edit: Are people using bittrex to hold their zen or something else?

been  mining it for a week or two but holding onto the coins for now ..

try Hush or Zhush ... they renamed it Hush there is another one from the equihash family starts with letter K .

First hi to all, I think this is my first post here but I am long time member. I'm looking towards building mining farm, but I'm facing the problem of availibility of 570/580 cards. They are imposible to find in whole Europe. So I thought of 560 which preform about 11 mhs with stock settings. Do you think they can preform about 13-14 mhs with modded bios? If they can they seem like a good shop couse I can buy them for around 100 euros. I think this topic will be very common in future because 570s and 580s are very hard even to order. Thanks in advance

we all are all over the world but maybe in China !!! sadly ... id like nothing more then to be able to go back to buying one card a month, I was till the availability went to hell ... I refuse to buy anything lower then a 470/570 in 400/500 series cards not worth it to me...  but will buy one or two more r9 280/x or 290/x if i find a good deal on them . even a fury card .....but the price has to be my price ... which won't happen, so il wait it out .
457  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Electrical Setup advice for farm at home. on: July 11, 2017, 05:12:11 PM
Fire is definitely a risk. I took in five L3+ for hosting and within a week three of the PSU breakout boards (which are easily good for 1500W and I've literally never had an issue with them in two years) caught on fire. So be careful what PSUs you use.

Be prepared to spend a buttload of money, especially if you're not doing the work yourself. I revamped my hosting with 400A 3-phase service about a year and a half ago, had zero labor costs (did all the install myself) but just the material was around $5k. I guess that's not a lot to someone buying a hundred ridiculously overpriced miners, but still. Labor on top of that could easily be double the material cost depending what has to be done.

You'll also have to check with the utility provider whether or not the lines in your area can even support the addition of that much constant load.

Thats discouraging to hear about the boards, what PSUs do you recommend?

You i budgeted out about 10 to 15k for the power management alone. I'm still debating if i should just rent a warehouse near by. Its looking more an more like i might need to.

What qualifications would i need for looking for a space?  3 phase and 600a for future expansion?

I know cooling is a huge factor as well but thats a whole differant can of worms.

Rent the ware house you might be better off .....There is a lot of work you may have to do to your home the ware house should all ready have, you may pay about the same ...and it's safer ......

how can I do to improve the hashrate ?

I have 2 piece of a4 dominator (expect 280MHS) , running for a week .

current hashrate around 200MHS

459  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 1000 watt HP SEVER PSU link in post ... on: July 08, 2017, 03:51:00 AM
If my board doesn't work with that supply, there's either something wrong with the supply or something wrong with the board.

The HP 750W, 1200W and 1500W are Common Slot PSUs, which are in no way the same as this 800/1000W (DPS800GBA I believe). A generic board made for Common Slot PSUs won't work for the DPS800, and a DPS800 board won't work for a Common Slot PSU, but my board was made specifically to work with both.

Thanks.

I never sent you that board back to get fixed, I just never got around to it and may not, remember we talked about it and you asked me to send it...I may buy another one from some one who still sells some and he has some in stock still, to find out and i kind of had that feeling if your board didn't work it was either the board or PSU, making sure .

I had two of your boards at one time but got care less with one but the one i still have and use, I didn't mess up or i wouldn't have told you about it , just never sent it back ...

PSU ...  i either have two bad ones or the wiring in side the PSU is different because the outside Pin out looks the same as the 750 and 1200 watt version ... Ive tried side hacks board it didn't power it and two others i bought off ebay that do power the 750 watt 1200 watts 1500 watt and 2400 watt. as does side hacks ...o yea  I know all the 2400 watt psu is  two 1200 watt wired to gather in a news case with very quite fans i do mean very quite .  because it needs two 1200 watt break out boards to get full use which i like a lot better ...
