with 8  gb that is possible or higher with a modded bios, i don't see how any other way unless they overclock it to were it is running at 80 c or higher all the time  and very unstable, the ones that get me are the ones that say they are with 470 4gb cards I'm sure they are but at a very high cost and the card is using a lot of power and ruining very hot and very unstable at times .

IMO no Ive had to many problems with old drivers that new ones fix , but i also says don't take my word, go try it your self and make your own judgements, i don't mine giving advice for what works for me . if it works for you great other wise you know .

do a clean install of the drivers turn off any thing that may use those driver or card before you uninstall them like antivirus software, any profile software you may be using like after burner , awesome miner etc and you may even need to reset you cards default to default with software like after burner and make sure some stuff is off or on for that  card with afterburner, you can't see other wise that keep turning on or off  or some profiles not Turin off on there own or not deleting, or Windows installs it own profile after a driver uninstall or the driver gets stuck on a profile no mater what you do.

use this to uninstall any video card drivers AMD or NV , it works better then some of the paid version at it's level and i would uninstall them in safe mode .

Like  eckmar  say use the newest drivers and I 'll take it another step that's bad advice claymore gives on what drivers to use because some cards are not supported by the Catalyst (Crimson) 15.12 and those drivers can be the main problem in some cases and tomorrow if what I read is right there is a new drivers releases coming form AMD that will be awesome . but well see tomorrow .

And drivers do matter in how they run the cards they power and the software those cards run .

my Webb access to awesome miner is pw protected and why i won't post it here or any place, in any form.

that doesn't all ways fix it you may have to reinstall the drivers , reset all cards to default need me to on what you may have to do . .

I would really update to newer drivers my self sense in order to use the 400 series you need drivers that support it and the 15.12 drivers don't have that support that I'm ware of, i have tried those drivers with my 400 series cards so to me that bad advice.

may have to reset them all with afterburner or a program  similar to afterburner, that can reset to default setting . it maybe hashing lower because the profile it is using it clocked wrong, Ive had it happen a few times so i looked at it with after burner sure enough they were under clocked due to changes that either claymore didn't adjust right or the  drivers didn't understand what claymore was asking it to do or it was stuck on a profile i have no idea were it came form .

I still had to do a reset to default in some cases i even had to reinstall the drivers on a multi card rig once I did they all worked great till some thing else changed like a new driver update or miner update then i have do it again which makes sense .

I use Awesome over Ethman it lets youn do more like report, changes pools, at will even on the WEB   . all kinds of stuff Ethman doesn't do and may never do . I don't use Ethman much beyond a fast look at times .

Use after burner it will let you mix cards at there own timing and speed but you have to make sure to turn off two Settings if you use it
Synchronize the same cards uncheck or off and don't use extend over clocking limits, i found turning off those two setting in afterburner stops all my crashes and i can set all my cards separate from the other ones on the same RIg aka mixing cards .

That software is part of Claymmore look in the claymore miner folder it's called Remote manager .


SO far no other way i see of doing it no scan button yet .

The main problem with an no Linux version Clay hates using Linux and I'm sure he would rather have it were he could program one version of Linux and been done with it, is the drivers, the AMD Linux drivers for Ubuntu 16 or the newer LinuX OS that need that driver, the driver atm does not support all the cards yet that the AMD windows version does , so that a lone make things a lot easier to do program wise for windows, i know others will say it's this or that but I'm willing to bet once the AMDPROGPU driver supports all the cards the AMD windows version does you will see one .

NV, is a pain to program in OPENGL others say and he would have to do some kind of major rewrite to make NV work with this miners without using openGL .
 
and the OS Ethos does it with two different sets of drivers and two different version of Ubuntu, i know i own that but I like windows more so ethOS doesn't get used much by me but i keep up with any changes it may have . .

It runs hotter then i like which I'll fix later on when more/better coolers start popping up for the 400 series cards, it run even hotter till i modded it and it Uses the same power as my 470 but with higher speeds as it should and a little bit hotter then my Ref 470 by SAPPHIRE with one fan .
 
I have the fan set to 64%  ( over kill I know ) that seems to keep it below 60c, i panic when i see any of my cards go over 60 c, i know they all can run at 70 to 80 c with out issue but why if i can make them run cooler at the same speeds .

it should help miners or some one will find a way to make it work with after burner, or come up with a modded bios, if it doesn't work, out of the box.
so I'm not worried at what the AMD haters may say, till i see it my self.

NP, only reason it's watered cooled when i bought the card back in 2012 , i also bought a kit so if i hadn't done it then it probable would run hotter now, i wouldn't brother now .

I still am skeptical of Claymore and all ways will be but that won't stop me from using it. no suspicion just skeptical .

l leave the fee on which is fine by me, sense I'm not told now like or not don't use it with no way around the Fee, there is a choice.

sense this miner shows whats really going on with the GPU over Clay more once this is back up to speed, I plan to use this miner to mine Zec till then I'm in the dark with the hardware errors and it make me wonder just how many CM causes at the high speeds it does .

Mines watered cooled the temps never go over 50c for the GPU and the vram form time to time may go little higher but not over 55 c.

I'm guessing the R9280 not the X version are maxed out, CM 9 didn't do any thing for it speed wise, time to edit the bios, i guess to see if that does any thing.

it DID improve my R7370 by 10 or so Sol . they were doing 131 to 134 sol tops now they do 143 sol or more  with CM 9 haven't tried my RX 400 series cards, yet .

Nm didn't wait long enough for the R9280 not x version it does 215 Sols up from 209. not much more but it's still more, it looks like it may be reaching it's max limits at stock setting .

Yes the company went bankrupt shortly after they said some thing about putting out a AlcheMiner 2 .

my power color RX 480 i bought two weeks ago works great, i had to mode the bios in order for it to run cool and do the speeds i wanted it to . i did not use any one else es bios i had to play with it till i figured out what would work now it works the same as my 470 only faster and i plan to buy a few more they still sell at the price of a 470 .

The new leaked info on the new AMD DRIVERS due out soon lowers heat and power usage and probable runs better then Nvidia once they release .

you can still mine x11 with GPU's i tried the other day on nicehash to see if you could but like others say there is no point in it sense there is a X11 ASIC miner.
