I hear that bitcoin will be unbanned after may 10 in China. Does that mean bitcoins price will go up? Should I buy now? Thanks guys.

Bitcoin has never been banned in China. Never.

It is not banned, nor it is allowed. Ambiguous bollocks.

Who says it isn't allowed? It's the PBOC putting pressure on banks to stop them dealing with bitcoin exchanges, but using bitcoins is perfectly fine in China.

Correct, however several (all? seen many in the news) banks have closed their accounts with China based exchanges. So, it just makes it a bit harder for Yuan fiat to be traded to/from BTC, but it's still possible I'm sure.

So how does this price stabilation work? Price has fallen dramatically, shouldn't there now be buy orders put in from the fund to support market, create volume and therefore create buzz around the coin?

Yea, in theory. But, the buy orders aren't put in until the lot of pre-mine is sold at a specific price. What has happened is that some big miners have gone in and sold their coin at a much lower rate, driving the price down. I'm surprised they didn't hold their coin until the NSF kicked in and sold them for a better rate.

I think that will continue until the miner difficulty bumps up. So you could play that game, try to mine and hold. Or go buy some from the miners at these very low entry level prices and plan to hold them for a while. I'm pretty sure this is how bitcoin and litecoin started out as well.

Anyway, I would like to see the OPs take on this situation that supposedly this coin was supposed to avoid. Wink

go to betarigs and check it out different offers.

I'm just curious if paying to rent minors generated phi cheaper than just buying them at .0002 would have.

offcoursse it is people are selling them as low as 0.00008000, i can sell you some if you want

I'm topped up right now. I'm doing my monthly cash to cryto on the 15th and will probably be looking to pick up some more than. Are you listing them on agx or selling them directly?

no c /r or anything bro.. its just simple you have to make .conf file putting all nodes on notepad saving a file called Nautiluscoin.conf as a file name then place it in your roaming /Nautiluscoin folder.. If you think you cant get it working anymore i cud help you if you give me teamviewer access to your computer.

Yea, I'm 99% sure I've done all that correctly. I'm a developer, so I know my way around text files fairly well. I just don't know why the network debug console doesn't show any activity, I would expect that it should.

I think it might be trying to map a port using uPnP that we are already using. Which is why I asked if you guys know what port this maps. I may have to set up a proxy or something.

I appreciate your offer but I'm just headed out. I was able to start mining without this syncing anyway, so no hurry to get it synced.

Check if your firewall is blocking any connection to your PHI wallet, our wallet is fully sync every latest block so any issue with you must be in your computer!

I'm sure it's my computer. I had already turned off the firewall to see if that was the issue. Still no joy. ;(

Are you all using the 64-bit version or the 32-bit?
My windows is 64-bit bro

That doesn't matter. You can run 32-bit apps on 64-bit windows. But, good to know the 64-bit version does in fact work. thanks.

Hey, 0Fee pool guys. Your link to BFGMiner is liked to a site with a malware filled version.

You should link here: http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/bfgminer/stable/

Also, your minerd example is wrong. It should be:

minerd -a scrypt -t 6 -s 4 -o stratum+tcp://phi.0feepool.com:4005 -u Weblogin.WorkerName -p WorkerPassword

Has anyone got the wallet to sync?

My wallet has been synched and syncs fine.

Did you use a .conf file? What OS do you have (I'm on windows 7 - 64bit)?

Are you using the conf file from the PHI coin site?

Yes, I've tried it, but it didn't work. Can someone show what the file should look like. I'm using 0fee pool.

Nautiluscoin.conf
addnode=54.186.223.183
addnode=54.187.101.97
addnode=74.208.230.160
addnode=184.155.218.183
addnode=71.227.74.98
addnode=188.194.8.82
addnode=109.201.154.157
addnode=184.155.218.183

Add these nodes then you ll be fine bro

I finally figured it out, doh! I misspelled Nautilus when making the .conf file. All good now, thanks.

Where did you put the conf file? I'm still unable to get it to connect. When I try to use addnode try with the cli every address gives me an error:can't connect to server.

Put .conf file in Nautiluscoin folder (inside %appdata%roaming%NautilusCoin folder)

Done... still not work. What uPnP port does this use?
rpcport=1161
port=11161 They are the ports i copied from website bro, but only for wallet sync you dont need them, they used for mining. Adding add nodes are enough to connect and synchronize  your wallet, check carefully what you did wrong..

Yea, I'm totally at a loss. Double checked path, file is there, spelled right. Only has the add nodes in it. Should there be a c/r after the final addnode? Does it matter.

When I check the network tab in the debug it is empty. It's like its not even trying to connect. Only other wallet I've used is Primecoin and it needed zero config, worked out of the box. Any tips to troubleshoot would be great.

Yep. agx.io I bought 500 for .1 BTC. don't forget to send a few extra to cover their .25% commission.

Why would they unbanned bitcoin? So that they can ban it again and manipulate the price?

So, you think the Chinese government is pumping and dumping?
2300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin question? on: May 02, 2014, 09:51:32 PM
I hear that bitcoin will be unbanned after may 10 in China. Does that mean bitcoins price will go up? Should I buy now? Thanks guys.

Why would China say... Banks aren't allowed to transaction money for BitCoin exchanges, then a month later change their mind? While China is a big bitcoin market, there is more to bitcoin than China.

But, that answer to your question, is yes, buy more Bitcoin! It has stabalized at it looks like there is ton's of support at the $400+ level. It has been pretty stable around $450 for quite a while now, if you look at that charts. But, the trend recently took an upturn. I am quite bullish on bitcoin as are many.

Sorry I hate to sound like a huge noob, but why should one buy bitcoin when the price is stable? i thought you where supposed to buy low; sell high? will bitcoin ever go up to the $500 mark again?

Stable means it isn't jumping from 500 to 300 to 800 to 120 to 950 in a matter of days any more. Of course, if you are day trading it, you hate the stable price.

However, due to the design and the growing popularity I think going long on bitcoin as "part" of your more speculative portfolio is the way to go. At least, that is how I am treating it. I think it has a chance to beat quite a few investments over a 2-3 year period. Some people have predicted 1 BTC = $10,000 USD by the end of the year. I'm not THAT bullish on it, but I guess it's possible. If it is $650 or a bit higher by the end of the year, I'd be very happy I got into it and will continue to buy and hold.
