Right and like Bitcoin
0.00000001   satoshi
0.000001      μBTC (microbitcoin)
0.001           mBTC (millibitcoin)

What is Crypti's ticker? CYI or CRP

I know we are voting on the 8th decimal right now!! Just awesome!!
Vote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=698740.0

But is there a ticker yet?

0.00000001   ?
0.000001      μ ? (microCrypti)
0.001           m ? (milliCrypti)

I think the most important term will be what we call to the 6th decimal place. This is what bitcoin is doing wit the term Bit.

So 1 CRYPTI = 1.00000000

but, what name do we give to .00000100 ? This is how people are using to seeing money, with 2 decimals.

So 1.00 "SOMETHING" == .000001 CRYPTI

I think that is a more important name, and maybe that should get the name Crypton... and .00000001 can be a Cryptoshi.

Right 6th will be a microCrypti but we need the ticker so we can write it like this μCRI or whatever
and 3rd will be milliCrypti

Yes, but ticker is one thing. What you see in a store front on a web page should be less "technical".

For example:

32 GB SD Card  345.56 Crypton (some currency symbol to match crypton too would be nice).

Also, it should be called that in the wallet when you see your balance. You can chose Crypti or Crypton or Cryptohsi.

The blockchain says the coins are in my wallet, but my paper wallet doesn't feel any heaver. Something's wrong!

(BTW: this is a joke. Everything is right on schedule, looks good.)

Please download the applications from the original post and not from a quote.

  • The settings.ini has been converted into settings.json.
  • By putting the setting "generatorkeycaching" to "true" you can keep generating blocks after you lock your wallet as long as you have unlocked your wallet once since startup.
  • Added a new API command "POST transactions/scan".
  • Added a new setting "maxbyteperfee" this will make the client ignore transactions that have a higher byteperfee. By default this value is 512. This will help the network and nodes to protect themselves during an attack.

The new API documentation can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uBN8JXYNAWb8NUxon7MKx2MSJs4HHekIgolIXGTwR4c/edit?usp=sharing

Excellent work. I have a question.

When you use the generatorkeycaching is your actual password in memory somewhere in the clear? Or, is it protected in some way and only decrypted when needed to sign a block?

Thanks for you good work and for ignoring all the FUD and price woe in the thread.

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded Java on my computer. I read you must have Java to run Browser Wallet.
Should I be extracting the "Run" Windows batch File from the Downloaded Zip file, This loads me into FIM NRS command screen?

its pretty simple on windows.  here are the steps:

1) download the latest wallet from https://github.com/fimkrypto/fimk/releases

2) when the download is complete, extract the zip file - you will then have a folder called "fim-0.2.2"

3) open the folder and double click on the file called "run" (it may show as "run" or "run.bat")

4) a java window will open and execute.  wait a few moments until you see it say "FIM server started successfully."  leave this java process open and running.

5) open a browser and go to address: "localhost:7886"

6) log in with your passphrase and you should be good to go.  remember you will have to wait for the blockchain to download before your wallet shows accurate data

Thanks everyone. Great community. Up and running with Browser Wallet.
Do I need to keep Java window open or may I close out Java window?
Thanks again. Regards to all.

If you close the java console the server will stop and you won't be forging.

So, yes, you need to keep the java window open. Just minimize it and you should be good to go.

You can also make this a service with srv any, so it will auto start and run in the background so you won't see the java window.

New to FIMK. If wishing to Forge from Web Wallet, you are informed that your secret phrase will be sent to Web Server? Concerning? Thanks for the help
and replies.

When you say "web" wallet, you mean you aren't running the FIM server locally? That's the safest way to do it. Also, a wallet you don't control could go down or get reset and you think it's forging and it's not.

OK thanks. I'm not following the blog and thought it was a hard coded thing. I'll start following the blog too. I expect any info to be posted here.

It's not fixed until released because after that point it cannot be changed. Better to have flexibility until we release the dogs as it were.

cool. Is there an RSS feed for the blog? I don't see an RSS link and one isn't being discovered by my browser. Adding an RSS discovery rel link is pretty simple.

Paste me the code I'll add it to the template...

Something like this in the head:

Code:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS"
      href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheRssBlog">

Of course, the href should resolve to the RSS feed uri that contains the XML.

FYI: http://www.rssboard.org/rss-autodiscovery

Since there is no active exchange at the moment, I would be willing to sell small amounts of FIM to any newbies who want to get started.

PM me for details.  Small trades only.

Is there a faucet somewhere people can donate to?

BTW coins are moving to ICO's wallet atm..

example:

http://viacoinexplorer.com/address/Vqh1Rxf7N1giAZqWLsHFHGTKTbxSQSazKC

here we go guys!

I don't know. Is that the real block chain? That is block 3660, but there are no mined coins in it. If it was the real block chain there would have been 10 coins generated, right?

Wrong. http://blog.viacoin.org/2014/07/14/network-launch-update.html
Mining rewards remain at 0 until we launch publicly after which there will be something like 2000 blocks more of 0 rewards. "something like" is a pretty vague term meaning 2000ish, probably some more.

That was right about the time the fork happened. I assume you and ShareX were on the fork. So, that transaction got invalidated on the correct longer chain, so ShareXCoin scammer has that Qora. At least, that is the most plausible explanation. I doubt you sent that much Qora somewhere and didn't remember it.

Actually...  if this was due to the fork incident...  the QORA along with the incoming transaction would have disappeared from the Block Explorer...  obviously this is an outgoing transaction that was processed two days later.

good point. I didn't realize there was a spend transaction in the block chain. Back to reading school. Brb.  Grin

Sorry forgot to include the transaction screenshot. The transaction was sent to: QPjHuM78wVQamAZh7gP55xXjBiRceqcR6W, which currently owns 713569 Qora (if block explorer is correct). Is that an exchange address?

Do you recall whether this is your ShareXcoin QORA Deposit Address or not?   Undecided

I also have a deposit to ShareXcoin that is just sitting there in the deposit address...  I guess ziplibrary just pulled the plug before moving the QORA to the holding address.
Well I am 99,99% certain that I didn't sent it back to ShareX, because I don't trust new exchanges...
But it seems as if that's the only possibility  Undecided

It becomes even weirder, because a few days later on June 5 when ShareX became a scam I said this on the nxtforum:
"mikesbmw: [Edit]
I got out in time. I bought some Qora there and being a new exchange, I do what I always do and immediately transfer it to my wallet. It's not much, but still 0.5 BTC worth of Qora.

Phew!"

"An honest mixer"  Huh Surely an oxymoron.

Can't think of any reason other than illegal that would require coins to be mixed. But am prepared to be educated otherwise.

Don't be one of those.

Just because people want privacy, doesn't mean they are doing something illegal.

If that were the case, we would make rest room walls and stalls all transparent.

IT'S THURSDAY !!!

Where's my PoS wallet.  (BTW: This is fake hype post. I can wait util it is right.)

However, I would like to see the new specs of the coin as PoS... IE, Reward rate, min coin days, max coin days, etc. If there so close to releasing, these things must be known by now.

Crypton has a nice ring to it, and is short and easy to pronounce. We can set up a poll on another thread, so any ideas would be welcome.

Crypton is good, but kind of long.

What was the ticker resolved to be. IF the ticker is CRYP or some other 4 digit with CRY in front, then it could be cry... a smaller part of the full ticker.

But, other than that, Crypton is my fovorite, I like it better than Cryptoshi. Also, how will people abrveiate it? most people use sat for satoshi, so we cold use ton short for Crypton.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: July 17, 2014, 04:32:19 PM
Speculations on what the price will be once it hits bittrex?

Well your metrics are as follows: All viacoins issued were paid for at a rate of 6,102 satoshi and those are the only coins that are available in the beginning. So unless anyone wants to give their money away, it doesnt seem to make sense it will be any lower than that.

Let just hope the miners see that listing the coin below that is throwing money away.

Good work dev.  This is the first coin launch I have been excited for.

With over 2880 blocks per day, at 10 coins per block it will be 28,800 coins per day. Not sure who made this infro graphic.

It's 3600 blocks per day
1 day  = 60s*60m*24h = 86400s
24 second target 86400/24 = 3600 blocks/day

Right, I just rounded the block time up to 30 seconds. Since we all know block times are an "estimate". My point was, his daily coin count was off by at least 100%.
