201  Economy / Economics / Re: The Permanent Portfolio method by Harry Browne on: March 28, 2021, 05:44:35 PM
The basis:
- There are 4 basic scenarios: prosperity, inflation, recession or deflation. You would need assets that do well in each of these to keep a good balance.
- In Prosperity - stocks, to provide a strong return. Bonds will do well as well.
- In Inflation - Gold is the choice (not the only possibility though).
- In Recession - Cash or cash equivalents do well, due to low liquidity in recessions.
- In deflation - Bonds will do great.

We live in a different times as when he lived. I simply dont trust cash that much to have 1/4 of my wealth stored in cash. Maybe few %, but 25% seems like calling bad luck upon yourself. We will enter hyperinflation sooner or latter.

Nets management is doing everything to take the championship. That's a lot of money on the line, I hope they will fulfill their goal this year.

Nets management is probably Kyrie Irving. Nets management did well to get Kyrie Irving from Boston. Then they could just sit back and enjoy the ride.   This buyouts and sighing for minimum salaries are ...
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn, I should've bought bitcoin earlier! on: March 28, 2021, 03:19:56 PM
Those dates in the tweet were bad times to buy.  Good time to buy beside March 2020 when everything was cheap to buy was end of 2018. Also most of year 2015. Beginning of July 2013.  November 2011.

All those were perfect times to buy. Next perfect time will be about year and a half from now.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win at roulette? on: March 27, 2021, 07:41:55 PM
Hello everyone! Do you think it is possible to beat european roulette wheel with 37 numbers? Personally, at one time I tried to get up on the faucets, nothing came of it. I tried different strategies, all strategies lead to a loss sooner or later. Not so long ago, I went to a well-known crypto casino and decided to play with a 15-bet Martingale. Set the autospin to double in color with a drop of + 100%. It took about 5 minutes and I got the opposite color 15 times and I lost everything. To calculate the house edge for Straight Up bets in roulette, all you have to do is divide the difference of 1 by the number of the pockets on the wheel, which in this case is 37. So, 1/37 = 0.027027027 which makes for 2.70% ( 0.027027027 x 100 = 2.70270). There is also American roulette with two zeros and high house edge. The house edge on all bets is 1/19, or 5.26%, except for the 0-00-1-2-3 combination, which carries a house edge of 7.89%. Let's discuss roulette, who had what wash and experience in roulette.

Roulette is game where you can calculate your loss. In all other games you have no ideas what are the wining chances of the casino over you. With roulette you can see and. It is one of the most fair games. But simply because I can see how much I see over longer time I dont like to play it.

Russia - Slovenia 2-1
The first half was very productive! Slovenia managed to score a goal in the last minutes of the first half...
Now the odds on their victory is 15... Knowing the game of my national team, anything can happen in the second half! Grin

Slovenia made a really good start by managing to defeat Croatia. And they are playing quite well against Russia. The goal came in the 36th minute could really help them stay in the game and they may manage to make a comeback. But their job is not easy of course.
Both teams played well in the match. But Russia won 2-1. Both teams scored in the first half but were completely goalless in the second half. But I would be happy if the match was a draw. Because Slovenia is trying their best to score a goal in the second half.

Great win for Russia. In the second half Russia proved to have great defenders. They make it very hard for Slovenia to play aggressive and score to tie the game. Slovenia will have to forget about this game and take revenge on their next match.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Understanding Bitcoin price as a beginner on: March 27, 2021, 06:45:00 PM
Any "short term" price fluctuations, which I currently view these movements as, should be viewed on longer timeframes, maybe looking a the daily, weekly, or even monthly candlesticks.
Having been through one previous bull market, price corrections/swings of up to 40% are an accepted risk of investment such as a high-risk asset class.

You are both right and wrong. In a 4 years bitcoin cycle, bull run happens from 1-2 years. In that bull run after a few weeks of pump there are up to 40% corrections. Like 5.10 such happens in one bull run. But at the end of bull run when bear market start, price will drop around 80%. And will take about a year to finally drop to bottom. Big question is when Bitcoin will reach ATH, since after that moment price will mainly decline for a year. and after it will take over 3 years for price to get up to the level of that top.

Chainalysis Raises $100M, Underscoring Surging Demand for Blockchain Surveillance

Chainalysis,  a blockchain tracking firm whose client base includes government investigators, crypto exchanges and even financial institutions, raised $100 million in a round that underscores surging demand for cryptocurrency compliance infrastructure.

Chainalysis is among the largest U.S. cryptocurrency investigation firms building software to untangle messy blockchain transaction histories. Crypto transfer records are publicly available but difficult for laypersons to decipher without context, such as flagged wallet addresses and blacklisted coins.

Blockchain analysis is becoming one of the biggest crypto industries. Numerous companies are fighting for talent and offering their services to companies and institutions. Wide use of transparent ledger cryptocurrencies make this  surveillance possible.

208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problems with high fees on: March 27, 2021, 12:09:15 AM
All coins Transactions have high fees.

That is not true. Monero transaction fee is 0.3 cent. And there is no plan transaction fee of Monero will go up. Monero is money. Not just that is fungible but also transact able. It would be a bad money without cheap fees.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: New Concept on: March 26, 2021, 11:19:56 PM
Given the fact that not all coins are created equal, some things must be done to level out the playing field. Hence the idea of using crypto currency/coins as more or less stocks of that business entity, project, etc etc.. Any thoughts or ideas on this would be certainly appreciated. Thanks again.

Most coins are very different to others. They dont play on the same playfield. So there is no need to level out playing field. Some coin were mead like this fro that and others were made like that for this. Coinmarketcap ranking them by marketcap is bad since they are so different that they cant be compared. On a plying field or Bitcoin, ranked second is Litecoin, Ranked third is Doge and ranked 4th is Monero. These 4 coins were crated same and have same use case. And this is how they would be ranked by marketcap. Comparing some other coin with them is silly. Since was differently created or have different use cases.
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys happy if bitcoin will dropped to $10k? Why? on: March 26, 2021, 10:12:24 PM
Are you guys happy if bitcoin will dropped to $10k? Why?

Bitcoin will definitely not go below $20k, most likely will not go below $30k either. Small chance is it will ever go under $40k. Under $50k will most likely go at last few times. $20k no way. It was under $10k a lot of time in last 3 years.
211  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going down $50k soon, what's next? on: March 25, 2021, 07:43:48 PM
Bitcoin going down $50k soon, what's next?

Next it that will go down to $40k or will go up to $60k. There is nothing you can do abort it so you can just sit back and relax. With all the increased M2 emission of USD it is impossible that value of USD would not decrease very soon. You are on the safe side.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase fined USD 6.5 million for inflating trading and liquidity on: March 25, 2021, 06:23:26 PM
According to Reuters and other outlets, Coinbase has been fined for using multiple trading accounts and algorithms that created the illusion of a more liquid and active market for bitcoin and litecoin on their GDAX professional trading platform.

It comes as no surprise to most people on this forum, as most exchanges use market making bots or these are active on behalf of liquidity pools. It is just the fact that multiple accounts were used undisclosed the main argument for this fine.

LOL

By far best exchange Kraken. Coinbase is in exchange business for profit, Kraken is because they believe crypto will change the world. Coinbase faking volume is another proof who they are.

Normie coins are willing to integrate privacy features on themselves. Once privacy fashion hits the cryptosphere Monero will shine with it's own dark light

All Central Bank Cryptocurrencies will have opaque ledger. They will for sure vastly advertise why that is way better then Bitcoins transparent ledger. Sadly it might take years for them to be implemented. Definitely for EU. China might be faster.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Social Platform on: March 24, 2021, 06:17:29 PM
Decentralized Social Platform

https://hive.blog/ is one. Original Steemit. Latter they fork out of Steemit when Tron gang took over. I dont think you will find any decentralised social platform project that got any further then them. https://lbry.com/  is not classic social platform, but a decentralised "youtube"
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 05:24:23 PM
I follow the NBA only on the sidelines but i what i really like about this league is that teams that were weak last season can be really strong in the next season, which is exciting.  Smiley
Just look at the brooklyn nets. I don't think that they were being called a candidate for the NBA title once in the last 10 seasons, but now they are so strong.
The tables of the european football (soccer) leagues are way more consistent in comparison.

You can make an exemption on the Nets as they have a new starters, they have a big 3 (harden, Durant, and Irving), just like the Suns also, they have Chris Paul so they also improve this season. The only team that does not have a lot of stars and we've seen some improvement this season is the NY Knicks.

And how is it possible that they can afford to hire 3 top guys at once? I thought there are salary caps in the NBA? Have those top guys agreed to earn less in order to be able to win the championship together, like nowitzki did while he was still playing for the mavericks?
Also as far as i know there are not such big transfers between clubs like in european football where one club has to pay 100 Million for a top player as transfer fee.

You can easily put 3 max contracts into salary cap, but then you dont have anything left for role players. But a you can see in case of Blake Griffin with Nets and soon Andre Drummond with Lakers, they simply buy off their contact and come play for minimum for them. Cheap way to get solid role players.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit and STEEM are not Dead on: March 23, 2021, 05:38:16 PM
I know is a bit off topic but I wonder how does now Hive.blog and Steemit compare considering active users? It is about a year after split. So there should already be a nice picture painted.
218  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: March 23, 2021, 05:19:22 PM
I just want to share my experience, I have a relative who come to me and ask advise on what coins to invest now, I don't name a coin and I said he must do his research but he insist that I know, he want to invest immediately. He told me that since I'm a veteran, he would like to ask some advise on what coins will pump in the coming days so he can invest on it.
What do you think should I do guys? how can I help him?

Tell him the truth. No one can predict what will short term happen with coins. Day trading is manipulated by whales. Day trading is similar as gambling. It is definitely fun until you lose all. Best to learn is on own experiences. So he should daytrade a bit and see it dont pay off and latter start buying coins that will exist 10 years from now.

"Typical rhythm of deadline week underway: Teams starting today/Tuesday to give better sense of how far they’ll go on trade offers. Some pursuing assets for multi-team constructs that typically crumble. It’s a deadline league, which is why most of action comes Thursday."

220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra, the Racist BroCoin on: March 23, 2021, 12:51:04 AM
I just want to point out that Mark Zuckerburg is a Racist, and Libra is a Racist currency.

Money cant be anything like that. Libra dont exist so is hard to judge it, but my point stands. If a shoemaker use USD, that dont mean USD is shoemakers currency. Or if a leftist uses CNY that dont mean CNY is currency for left handed people. Money is for everyone to use.
