Apparently is far from being use able, but finally someone started it.  If BisQ did not want to take Monero as native coin it was only way that someone fork BisQ.   Same will happen with Signal. Them not using Monero will just make someone fork Signal and add Monero to it.

Someone is spending tens of millions of dollars to suppress Monero

That is definitely true. Sad is we will never know who since there can be so many. Fierce-uk is now mod on Zcash subeddit.  Probably they are just so ignorant to add him there and nothing else, but who knows.  What is missed in that reddit post is about a month ago Monero github was spammed and I believe right now no new developers can add code to Monero. Only existing can. Attacks are serious.

Bottom line is Monero was, is and will be attacked all the time. There will be attacks on the network, it will be attacked legally. It will be attacked on every possible way. It dont really mater who is the attacker. What it matters is that what dont kills you it makes you stronger.

What most bothers me is how can people be so ignorant of RandomX almost 2 years after its existence. Andreas Antonopoulos had no ideas about it, same with Peter Todd.  As was seen on twitter we might see both Peter Todd and Howard Chu together in one of the next episode.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NBA Top Shots on: April 06, 2021, 03:58:01 PM
NFTs are now on the mainstream and it's a huge market already. With the NBA top shots and other memorabilias that you can find on the web can also be up to sale as an NFT. Like the other speculators about NFT, they're very positive although the market seems to be at a huge bubble. The market just keeps growing and growing rapidly and I keep seeing people investing on it. Even before those people that I follow in financial advise, they're hyped for this craze.
It's not even a bubble and there are so many big names on the NBA who joined in the funding round for Dapper lab and it raised more than 300 million USD. I got surprised to see that NBA top shots is going to evolve very fast.
I think that this trend will be a long term trend consider NFT being used in the game to get the rare card and that will be really valuable in the future.
The limited card being issued and so many people were interested to own this card.
there are also plans that fans can use the NFTs to get access to tickets/vip-lounges in the offline world nba games! :-)

That is the point of tokens. To do something in a game or in this case in RL event. Most people issuing tokens they just issue them and they are pointless. Eventually people will get it an latest hype on NFT will for sure help in that direction.

So, I am expecting the Lakers will fall below the 6th to 7th spot.

I am sure in next 10 games Davis will get back, but their schedule is deadly. It would be a big surprise to stay better than 7th by then.

But I think people underestimate the many forms Bitcoin will be used transactionally OFF chain.  CashApp, PayPal, etc will emerge as trusted transactional layers for everyday use (ie coffee purchases).  I bet a standard eventually emerges as those companies make agreements to settle between each other off chain as well.  I would not be surprised if they use Liquid.  I think it may become possible to send BTC from a PayPal wallet to a CashApp wallet without touching the base layer. It is still possible lighting overshadows them all, but the UX is still too shitty for it to really win that one today.  However, it will still come along over time.  And once lightning is really working well it might be the layer for power users as well as the settlement layer for the larger orgs.  But until then Liquid is the sleeper... I still think that's goona seem like it came from nowhere eventually.

Yes this is exactly how it will happen. Paypall and co will just write, erase and move numbers in a database. And then will be a financial collapse. Much bigger then it was in 2008 and all those people holding "Bitcoin" there will end empty handed.

The bitcoin forks are full of shit mostly in my opinion...

Transaction wise yes. Litecoin x4 growth that happened few month ago was because of an onchain game. BCash had a x10 number of transactions growth in last couple of montsh because of some onchain "forum"  I forgot the link, but definitely have nothing to do with medium of exchange.  Monero transactions are pure medium of exchange. No mixers try to hide tracks and no games and stuff.

Zoomed out growth of Monero transactions. Average daily translations by quarter.  Q1 of 2021 update.

189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 02, 2021, 07:06:33 PM
Four consecutive quarters with Bitcoin price growth. That happened only two times in past. 2012 and 2017.

191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does US$ money supply correlate with XTC/US$ rate? on: March 30, 2021, 05:28:02 PM
In early 2020, the Fed nearly doubled the money supply of US$ by printing more fiat ...

M2 or monetary supply of USD did not doubled in 2020, but increased 26%. From $15.416 billion to $19.395 billion. What you are asking about correlation I have no ideas. FED correlate money supply increase by the needs USA government have.
192  Economy / Economics / Re: donating 50% of the vaccines purchased to the government. on: March 30, 2021, 02:43:57 PM
Donating 50% of the vaccines purchased to the government.

Countries are trying to get as much vaccines as they can. No country wants to stay with less then 70% vaccinated before autumn. But many countries will be such. 3rd wave that is happening right now will be hard. But to then also be hit hard with 4th wave in autumn will be devastating.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous a red flag? on: March 30, 2021, 02:26:22 PM
I'm doing a research on a new project right now and I see that the team decide to go anonymous, is staying anonymous a red flag for newbies?

It depend of the project.
If a project like Bitcoin or Monero have totally anonymous people crating them like Satoshi or thankful_for_today, it is totally fine. They did not sold anything to anyone. They just had chance to mine coins and pay electricity just like anyone else.
If a project like Etehreum or other ICOs have anonymous people creating them and selling tokens to others, that is a scam and you should stay away.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 30, 2021, 02:11:46 PM

Pelicans is still not in the playoff rank https://ph.global.nba.com/standings/

However, if they will work hard, they might bet the top 7 or 8 spot since the competition is very close in the West.

I'm hoping that Zion will stay healthy,  I like to see how he can help his team in the playoffs and I think its possible that they can upset a team in the top of the ranking even if they don't have the home court advantage.

We already passed the All-Star weekend which means there are only a few games left which is the real problem for the Pelicans. since getting one win this time seems hardest than ever before because those team that is outside the playoff tree will play the games as we've never seen before because a few games left to get to the playoff tree is worth to work hard. The only way they can get the chance to get to the playoff is to win at least 7 in their next 10 games.

Pelicans seems far from playoffs.

7  Dallas Mavericks   10.5
8  San Antonio Spurs 11
9  Memphis Grizzlies 12
10 Golden State Warriors 12.5
11 Sacramento Kings 13.5
12 New Orleans Pelicans 14

Well, they are only 3.5 behind, but there are 6 teams fighting for those 2 spots. I just dont see Pelicans grabbing one.

195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes an NFT sell, and sell for thousands or millions of dollars? on: March 29, 2021, 10:18:36 PM
What makes an NFT sell, and sell for thousands or millions of dollars?

NFTs can only be sold if you have a rich buyer. Rich people do dumb things with their money. It is their money so why not them do stupidity. They can pay gazillion for worthless stuff. Maybe is just a manipulation and seller return money to buyer. What they did is they got into media and make a hype so others also start buying.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 29, 2021, 10:05:09 PM
In less then 3 weeks time Monero will be 7 years old. Hopefully that will put some light on the project. In June there is planed Monero Konferenco 2022 in Berlin https://monerokon.com/cfp/  It was cancelled last year and postponed to this year. Right now I am wondering how big chance is that it happens. Covid is very alive right now in Europe, but 3 months can change a lot.

EDIT: https://twitter.com/MoneroKon/status/1360312111105146881   I see it was already decided to be an online conference.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 29, 2021, 09:34:39 PM
Lamarcus Aldridge to Brooklyn Nets and Andre Drummond to Los Angeles Lakers. Two big transfers in one day from East and West.
We know this seasons finals already, Nets vs. Lakers it's obvious. I'm against superteams in NBA, it kills competition. Why would I watch regular season and play-offs now? Salary cap used to have a meaning, now whole organisation is a joke.

What is funny is that this two are not even veterans. Griffin was just 32 years old and Drummond is only 27 years old. they should be at their peak. And each of them salary should be at least $10 million per season.
198  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-26 Yahoo! - Chainalysis Raises $100M, Demand for Blockchain Surveillance on: March 29, 2021, 09:09:42 PM
I don't see any private companies availing their services as there is no need for them to do so.

You are very wrong here. Information are the oil of 21st century. Payment information are the holly grail of information. Companies gather and trade information about customers and competition. They do that on social media the do that on websites, they do that on payment services. They same they do and will do on transparent ledger cryptocurrencies.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if the bear market starts next month on: March 28, 2021, 07:59:19 PM
although this possibility is low and probably won't happen. but I want to ask you. if the bear market starts next month, and bitcoin falls below 20k.

In bear market you should expect Bitcoin decrease 80% in value so from $60k to $12k if bear market starts now.  It will of course not happen immediately but will take over a year time. Hopefully we will see Bitcoin price way over $60k so that 80% drop will not be so low. Smiley
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 28, 2021, 06:08:06 PM
Four days in March Monero had less than 20k transactions a day. Today is the last chance for it, to end month with 5 such days. Overall for month March number should be around 700k. Usually at the end of the month numbers start decreasing. Hopefully this month will not be such.

Also a good Monero review of a guy that gets over 100k views on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O58STfvxZnY
