650 FZB.A shares transferred to Freemoney at 2012-06-01 19:26:51 (GLBSE Time) !!

Please confirm reception.

By the way, I thought the transfer fees were 0.2% of the amount transferred but I have checked that in reality the fees that are applied are based on the 5 day average price of the asset transferred. In our case the transfer fee has been 0.1209932 BTC instead of my initial estimation of 0.12285 so I owe you 0.0018568 BTCs.

I can give you back that tiny amount right now if you wish, although in order to avoid tx fees I propose you simply pay me 0.9195182 BTC next month and 0.921375 afterwards.

Confirmed received 650 shares. No need to send that bit.
2122  Economy / Securities / Re: Shorting on GLBSE on: June 01, 2012, 11:08:28 PM
I'd like to borrow up to 2000 shares of FZB. I am willing to do amounts down to 100 shares.

I will pay any dividends issued during the time I am borrowing the shares.

I will pay a monthly fee at the beginning of each month until I return the shares.

You can request your shares back at any time and I will return them within one month but will not pay another monthly fee after your request. I will still pay any dividends.

I will pay GLBSE transfer fees.

Unfortunately I have only a finite amount of bitcoins so I want to give myself an out. I reserve the right to give 10x the btc price of the shares at the time of the loan in place of returning the shares.

Hi FreeMoney,

I offer you some FZB.A shares to let you sell them (short or long) at GLBSE.
I will transfer you 650 shares from my account under the following terms & conditions:

 - You will pay me 1.5% per month plus the transfer fees and any dividends paid.
 - You can return your shares whenever you like and I will not owe back any fee for partial month.
 - you will return my shares within a month from whenever I ask, nevertheless you will not make another monthly fee payment.
 - You reserve the right to give 10x the btc price of the shares at the time of the loan in place of returning the shares.

Right now the sell price is at 0.0945 so 1.5% of that price for 650 shares would be 0.921375 BTC + 0.12285 Transfer fee = 1.044225BTC
If you agree to that terms, please provide your username at GLBSE and I will transfer you 650 FZB.A shares right now.
Then you should send me 1.044225BTC as the first payment and 0.921375BTC every first of each month plus any dividends to this address: 1G7YRZHYn4eVQRUrXXwyLF2xEMMHgpmZUi.

I will honour your right to pay 0.945BTC per share in place of returning the shares.

2124  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Trade Bitcoin Options - BitcoinOPX.com [UPDATED] on: June 01, 2012, 05:43:16 PM
I see a huge benefit to being open for trading 24/7. I'd be interested in hearing the advantages of closing for half the day. If you want regular downtime for maintenance/changes/settlement make it 1 hour per day.
2125  Economy / Securities / Re: Shorting on GLBSE on: June 01, 2012, 05:02:21 AM
I made one deal for 200 shares. Looking for more.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Send 0.01 BTC without a fee? on: May 31, 2012, 01:46:27 AM
Its possible, but it won't always get confirmed.

I only send a 1 satoshi tx fee for all of my transactions (regardless of size), and I've yet to get one that didn't confirm. I did have a few that took a few hours to get 1 confirm though.

There are miners out there that will accept transactions that haven't paid the minimum tx fee.

Are you sending the tx direct to pools?

2128  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bets of Bitcoin - Bitcoin betting on real world events on: May 30, 2012, 08:22:43 PM
If you knew you could get the last bet in I guess it is ok to leave yourself unbalance and take care of it later.

But say you come across it with evenly balanced bets (50%) and you think Side A is 80% to win so you load up on Side A. Now someone else comes along and thinks side A is even more than 80% likely and they bet and now there is so much on A that you prefer B at these odds. You can't unbet A but you can bet on B now.

If you want to make sure you don't end up taking a wager you don't want no matter what happens then you need to bet both sides up front.
2129  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bets of Bitcoin - Bitcoin betting on real world events on: May 30, 2012, 04:48:35 PM
ah! the site could be more fun.

Why the artificial limit of betting 0.1?
Now most bets have really low numbers which makes it hard to bet. I understand that you don't want to have micro-bets but for now I guess they would help a lot. Let me give an example:

There is 0.2 in bets pro Facebook climbing above 35$ and 1.5 against. The betters put chances at 2/(15+2)=12%.
If I say chances are higher, I might want to put my money with the statement but doing so would man I see facebooks chances at 3/(15+3)=17%. Sorry I don't feel that confident but I would chip in 0.05 for the chance of getting 0.3BTC=1.5$.

This would again attract the pessimists which would make me more confident to put in more … and in the end, we all pay more Wink

With all the bets starting at 0.1BTC this is even worse as going with the inital better would mean shifting chances by 100%. While I see no problem in smaller bets, I guess the essential part is that the submitter should bet at least 10x the limit for subsequent bets. With 0.1BTC as is that would be 1BTC for the initial submitter or as I would prefer it, 0.01 for subsequent betters.

Feature request: Print the balance in % as in my example

I think you are supposed (as in that's the good strategy) to bet on both sides in the proportion that represents your guess at the odds.
2130  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Class Action Lawsuit vs. Bitcoinica for USD funds on: May 30, 2012, 02:04:33 AM
bitcoins would never hold up in court

Why do people keep saying this.

If somebody steals your car, house, TV, laptop, beer, Facebook account or your dog, you can get a court order to have it returned. The same applies to Bitcoins.

If it cannot be returned, the court can decide on a reimbursement of either your cost price, the open market selling price or the sentimental value that the item has to you.

What percent of stolen laptops do you guess that courts recover for people? I imagine it will be lower (unless you guessed 0) for bitcoins (at least for a very long time).
2131  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Questions about implementing "Bitcoin accepted here" on: May 30, 2012, 01:43:05 AM
What do you do if someone pays with traditional money and charges back?

The chance that you get double spent on is incredibly close to zero, maybe not quite chipmunks discovered on the moon zero, but close.

Some companies are taking some risk in accepting zero confirms, but domain registration is not one of them. I bought a domain today with bitcoin and it was instant.
2132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decline in listening hosts on: May 29, 2012, 08:53:23 PM
It is still 1 'vote' per hash. I guess you are annoyed because so many people are so interested in bitcoin?

If you want a bigger say you could help the network more. If you don't know how you could hire someone. Lots of people selling hashing power lately.

When is Seals going to go public? Hell, with GLBSE you can easily raise enough revenue to build a Full Tilt Poker quality software client.

Full Tilt quality.. hmm. I don't have any plans to, it's hard enough spending my own money.

Suggestion. As a compromise between contributing and writing 'sub', write one word about how you feel about the thread. Interested, concerned, afraid, excited, happy, rockhard, flaccid, etc.

I'd prefer just "sub", actually. These posts are easier to ignore.

Hmm, ok, I was looking forward to writing "flaccid" and "rockhard" but I'll refrain.

Threads about 2% spikes make me smile.

And when a 2.7% spread is exceptional—you can expect to see more defectors from among the short term arbs.

I bet they move to GLBSE and we start to see spreads narrowing there.
