1441  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Question about transaction signing vs. message signing on: June 19, 2016, 09:14:35 AM
Although they're both signing something, they're signing different things different ways for different uses. Sure, you have to use your private key to sign the message, but i'm not so sure you have access to that, as you've said. Maybe try finding the private key from the seed offline?
1442  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ANN] KeepKey - The Simple, Secure, Hardware Wallet on: June 19, 2016, 09:07:47 AM
Looking at the image, I can't see it. Is the besel visible? (Can you see a distinct line between the LCD screen and the case of the device?)

Anyone interested in the Trezor 2.0?
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 bitcoin or 10 bitcoins? on: June 19, 2016, 08:45:16 AM
It doesn't make any difference either you call it bitcoin or bitcoins, the purpose would be the same but if you think grammatically then 10 bitcoins is the right word.
Sounds about right. Grammatically Bitcoins makes more sense, but ultimately it doesn't matter much in my opinion.
That is very true. Maybe when Bitcoin becomes more popular, then there might be a English Professor that will take a look at the word and tell us what the real plural of Bitcoin is.

I personally say 10 bitcoin. "Bitcoins" generally doesn't sit well on my tongue. And the other thing is that every time I see someone say "10 bitcoins" is when I read a person with broken English's post.
1444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaigns: Worth The Time? on: June 19, 2016, 05:01:28 AM
It's only worth it if you actually believe in bitcoin. You're contributing to a greater cause, and not just doing it for the money. Sig campaigns pay pretty much nothing, they're just there for some "help".
1445  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: about recovering bitcoins on: June 19, 2016, 04:59:50 AM
can you tell me how to use seed to extract the private and download it, i have no idea and not have done it before.

You're probably using blockchain.info's new wallet, which doesn't allow you to export a seed. Just download Electrum, and send your blockchain.info funds to the Electrum address.
1446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What am I missing about Genesis Mining? on: June 19, 2016, 04:57:13 AM
Op, you have to factor in mining fees, the risk of them going scam, etc. Mining fees take up a huge chunk of your payout if you're investing small.
1447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are you comfortable with putting your ID online? on: June 19, 2016, 04:50:24 AM
If the site has a license and is legit like Perfect Money and PayPal, I don't mind to upload my ID proof. Identity theft can be an issue even in the case of bank accounts wherein online bank accounts get hacked and even email IDs. If I need a payment processor/exchange website to sell my bitcoins or store money online, I have to get my account verified then. There's no option.
I agree bit I still have the feeling even when they are legit and have a license for it its pretty risky because if this will leak your details will lay on the streets waiting for big trouble..

I also agree with that if i know the site very legit and their company is government registered well i will follow their kyc rules if they required just like our wallet provider today there updating things like having selfie verification and id verify so they can sure that the people using their service is not a fraudster and thats ok to me since they are legal and theirs no doubt to my site giving my legal docs to them.

Unlike any other malicious site that asking for our ids  nah i beg to dont give my ids to them im vigilant in that thing and situation so i will not compromise in the future.

But in theory, any site can be hacked, therefore even trusted sites can't be trusted with your id. Maybe they won't take your id and run, but maybe a hacker would.
1448  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 'Vote with your bitcoins' system in Core on: June 19, 2016, 04:44:45 AM
This would make bitcoin a pump and dump. You see, this gives rich people an incentive to hoard bitcoin. Theyll buy up as much bitcoin as possible to get a huge amount of voting power, make an unstable change, then sell everything. *Shudders*

I was commenting on the pdf.
I understand your proposal. But tying the BTC in your account for the duration of the voting process may not be well recieved.
Well unfortunately thats the only way to make sure no double-voting the same coins happen.
emergency?
Yes.
[/quote]

What about a period of 7 days to set your vote, and on a certain block, everyone gets their vote counted. Or maybe votes are only valid if the coins have stayed in their wallet for more than X days
1449  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can i mine cryptocurrencies with a low internet connection? on: June 19, 2016, 04:40:38 AM
2 megabytes/second? Here in Cavemanstralia, we talk in kilobytes/second. (And it's mineable here, just very expensive.) 2mb/s should be enough to mine crypto, as long as the connection is stable.

On Stratum with variable difficulty, you should need ~1kbps (0.125 KB/sec).  It doesn't matter how fast you are, which is why the new protocols were implemented.  1 GH/s, 1 TH/s, 1 PH/s, with proper server implementation it should all use the same bandwidth per connection.

I think the guy means megabits/sec, which would total to 250 kilobytes a second. Here in Australia using ADSL 2+ I get about 3 megabytes per second ^_^

I'm getting Fibre Optic late next year Wink
1450  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Case Physical Wallet Question on: June 19, 2016, 04:36:47 AM
Hey guys, im interested in purchasing one of Cryptolab's new Case physical wallets. What appeals to me is that it is a standalone device, without needing a computer or a phone to operate (like the Trezor or Ledger hardware wallets)

But this also has some downsides. You have no direct connection to the internet.

I have a question. To send a transaction, you'll have to use the built in scanner to scan a QR code. What if you have just a bitcoin Address? The easiest way to send that is to convert the address into a qr code, which is a complicated process. And how do you get people to send to your case wallet? A qr code. What if you need someone on the other side of the country to send you bitcoin? Problem there.

So is there a simpler way to send/recieve bitcoin on a Case, or Case 2 coming out, or is there even a better alternative?
1451  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AbcBitcoin.com - New Bitcoin Directory on: June 19, 2016, 01:30:41 AM
Abcbitcoin.com wouldn't be the best domain for a bitcoin directory. Maybe something like bitindex, bitdirect, bitdirectory or even bitfindr. Doesn't have to be .com.

That aside, great site!
1452  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling 100 legit Steam accounts! on: June 19, 2016, 12:51:16 AM
You do understand I can get lvl 100 steam accounts with CIV V here for under $20? And from a reputable member, too. Saving $77 is nothing, I tell you. Nothing.
1453  Economy / Digital goods / Re: RewardHalving.com on: June 19, 2016, 12:44:23 AM
Few inquiries, not looking to sell this domain name cheaply. The reward halving is fast becoming a global event with vast implications for the financial World.

Not really. All it is is basically causing instability in the bitcoin price. I can't think of anything to user the domain for beside a countdown timer, and there's already more than enough of those.
1454  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Free Domain Registration on: June 19, 2016, 12:42:37 AM
The site itself is using shitty free hosting xD

It's probably a site where he's reselling from other sites like godaddy and namecheap.
1455  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling physical bitcoins on: June 19, 2016, 12:05:35 AM
Nice try. You can get these off eBay for almost $2.5 including shipping! Trying to flip coins to make quick profit isn't done easily.
1456  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Ravenbit NODE Bronze Physical Bitcoins on: June 18, 2016, 11:46:10 PM
Taking a look at your brass coins and these bronze coins, in your honest opinion, which ones look better? Bronze or brass? From the images, brass defenitely seems brighter.
1457  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ★ Digis Coin Emporium ★ -= Kialara Labyrinths, Mint Brass Lealanas, Gox Coins =- on: June 18, 2016, 10:12:43 PM
Any idea of how Ravenbit many brass nodes are left? And looking at that Labyrinth, are those... beads that can roll around the engraved paths?
1458  Other / Archival / Re: Earning "free" bitcoins on: June 18, 2016, 10:00:03 PM
The website is down, although i dont recomend to wast time on faucets, its very stupid. You can do way better than that with affiliate campaigns and ref comissions.

Lol
There are many ways of getting free bitcoins.

Ultimately, the first suggestion is getting bitcoins from faucets. It's easy but it's not really convenient because the pay is really low.

There's signature campaign too, which is considered "free" since you don't actually pay for anything.

And providing services like photoediting, videoediting, etc and getting paid using bitcoins. Technically, that's considered as earning "free" bitcoins, right?
Lol
You can search for free with a bitcoin faucet. however, if you want a bitcoin is more then I think the signature campaign is the best option and carefully. you will get compatible with the income of your work. ,

Lol
Earning Bitcoin through "free" sites typically won't yield a decent amount of funds, however I can see that you're not already in a signature campaign so that might be something that would be valuable and useful for the future, and a great way to earn Bitcoin.

I don't know the sites you listed and haven't used them before, but if they've been working for you then keep using it I guess.

Lol

Please everyone, take a second to look at the OP. It was made in 2011, and is regarding a site. Not a way to make bitcoin. Please stop with your spamming.

The original necroposter has already been nuked. Anyone else?
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Find out why sub reddit /r/btc full of bitcoin haters on: June 18, 2016, 09:56:18 PM
lol I'm just reading up there and just watching the flame and salt war.

Reddit is a place where people advertise, talk shit and don't really understand that anything SC can do, multisig can.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't see it ever really catching on on: June 18, 2016, 09:50:05 PM
Because you just happen to be talking to a small community. There are 9 billion people in this world. How many have you talked to about this problem? Max a hundred. There are 8.9999999999 billion people who might be seeing a change.
