1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got lots of vanity addresses. I want to use them. on: May 02, 2016, 01:23:05 AM
What's wrong with a simple sollution?
Just create an electrum wallet, you can even use an online an and airgapped offline version for tx signing.

Import your vanity addresses in electrum -> receive money on these addresses -> go to bitmixer, cryptomixer, shared coin,... send your coins from electrum to the mixing service -> make sure you give your leger's address as output address with the mixing service.

Seems really simple, or am i missing the point here?

The problem is that I receive alot of transactions, and being the lazy shit that I am, want an automated system. It seems easy enough, because bitmixer provides all the relevant API calls, but I simply do not have the coding prowess to code it. I was asking whether there is an easy way to make this system or something the like already exists.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: May 01, 2016, 09:47:59 PM
Magnr.com?

They provide investment options that pay 2.35% interest per annum. This flat interest rate lasts until the end of June. They will then pay you out based on the profits of the trading fees they charge.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving Bitcoin Reward Unlikely to Cause Price Surge on: May 01, 2016, 09:38:56 PM
Miners are the deciding factor in the price. They still most probably make actions to push the price up. I do understand what you are saying. The price won't double, but it will rise about 60-70%.
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: unauthorized transaction on: May 01, 2016, 12:25:22 PM
Luckily you didn't lose much.  Maybe $5.

Nowadays, with the popularity of bitcoin going up, it will also lead to a higher amount of hackers on the prawl. Pretty much everyone with more than 0.1 BTC should have a hardware wallet. Just get a Ledger wallet for God's sake. It's 15 bucks.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly my peer list is full of classic nodes. on: May 01, 2016, 12:22:21 PM
Thats because the amount of classic nodes has went up over the last few weeks, i think there is well over a thousand now.
Wrong. It has been on the decline over the past two months. It was hovering around 2000 (0.12.0 nodes).

That's nice that we finally won this battle.
This "battle" will never end. The next controversial HF is just behind the corner, maybe it will be called "Bitcoin Original", or "Bitcoin Reloaded", you never know. Roll Eyes

Or maybe Ethereum Cheesy

The count of 0.12 classic nodes rose a little recently (or maybe it's because all the core codes moves to 0.12.1 Roll Eyes
1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Question about wallet seeds and vanity addresses. on: May 01, 2016, 12:17:50 PM
Here is a thread I dug up, and it voices my question of "Can I use a vanity address on my Ledger wallet?"

I have some pretty cool vanity addresses, but my Ledger wallet doesn't allow importing private keys. What it does allow is importing wallet seeds in the BIP39/BIP34 24-word format.

So this thread, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158655.0, asks if I can create a wallet seed that will generate my vanity address first time. I know it's theoretically possible, but how can I do it?

P.S. I've also looked into bitcoin payment forwarding, but people who provide these services don't allow you to import your own private key.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got lots of vanity addresses. I want to use them. on: May 01, 2016, 11:56:08 AM
Incoming transaction > Vanity address hosted by me > Bitcoin mixer (coinjoin?) > Ledger wallet

Having the transaction automatically sent to a mixer would be hard to accomplish an I wouldn't suggest it anyways. There's just too much that could go wrong. I would highly suggest you manually send a tx to a mixer (to be sent to the Ledger wallet) or you look into just skipping the mixer.

you may transfer the funds to some new wallet. that may solve the purpose for  you.

I smell a retard. Wow, that's a strong scent.

It's a Ledger wallet. An air-gap. I spent money on it. What do you want me to do - throw it away? I want to keep the funds here. But I've generated a rare vanity address that I don't want to be associated with me. Problem.
1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do Bitcoin wallet GUI's look so basic? on: May 01, 2016, 11:43:59 AM
The main desktop wallets, like bitcoin core and electrum do look half-baked. But their developers care about the functionality, not the look. Their apps are targeted at most bitcoin users, already tech-savvy people. I run my electrum through command line, so there.

If you want, use copay, greenaddress or coinbase.
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About hashocean Address on: May 01, 2016, 01:52:05 AM
Just sure as hell smells like a ponzi that hasn't collapsed yet if you ask me.
We all know that its a legit ponzi. But it is still not collapsing with that many users keep investing more before they hit their ROI.
For now their support is very active.

No ponzi is legit. Hashocean has long stood past its estimated scam time. Their exit scam is long overdue. And their ROI is relatively slow.
1670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mycelium's "crowdsale": basically a donation, not an investment by any means on: May 01, 2016, 01:36:27 AM
But as mycelium has stated, they are aiming to become a full blown finance company. Their fees should be able to fund their dividends.
1671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why you enable 2FA. on: May 01, 2016, 12:00:33 AM
This is why you don't let anyone touch your clean drive. If you are storing bitcoin without an air gap, you really should either use 2fa or only use that device for bitcoin.
1672  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Deal Query. [ VERY IMPORTANT ]. PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AND GIVE YOUR OPINION. on: April 30, 2016, 10:18:32 PM
What do you mean by "remove his number from whatsapp"?
If you can remove the number, if he scams you or does anything fishy with his account, you can freely remove the number.

I've traded with Your Point Is Invalid before, and he was super-kind. He accidentally ordered 2 of the goods I wanted 1 of, which he kindly let me keep the second. I can vouch for the guy, but still be careful as my trade wasn't of high value, sadly. Smiley

You mean to say, I have to wait and keep an eye on his activities ? If he scams me or anyone , I have right to remove ?
You forced me to change my number less than 24 hours ago, I lost alot of contacts because of that, and now I am offering you the chance to ask all questions you want, I can send you the list of all the persons I have texted and can go in depth with the conversation. As decoded said above I can be trusted

This guy is pretty legit AFAIK. I've looked at the way he does business and its clean.

But letyouearn, I really don't think you should be giving out your personal number. Buy some cheap disposable sims.
1673  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollin.io is a SCAM on: April 30, 2016, 10:15:18 PM
Could you send us the wallet address you withdrew  to? From there we can see all associated wallets. It's also better if you can also give us your deposit transaction. Without these two, I'm calling your bluff.

I saw Rollin.io give giveaway to 2000 mbtc
and you say 20 mbtc Rollin.io commit fraud ?
I think this is overkill
Did you just open an account to reply to this?

Kill yourself, troll.
Why isn't this troll banned yet?!?
1674  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SNAILMEN SCAMMED ME 0.2 BTC on: April 30, 2016, 10:10:29 PM
Why did you fund the loan in the first place? He is a gambler, you can tell.

What was so tempting about his deal, that you had to take it?
1675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've got lots of vanity addresses. I want to use them. on: April 30, 2016, 01:41:48 PM
Unfortunately I don't think an effective way to do the mixing part exists yet. And honestly I don't really trust mixers, they are centralized, and you are trusting they will not keep logs and handle said logs to 3 letter agencies if they ask for it. It's just not what Bitcoin is, that's why im looking forward to CoinJoin being implemented at a protocol level, then we will have this problem solved for once.

As for vanity addresses, i would avoid using them tbh, they are not privacy friendly, but if you really want to, another person will answer to you because I have never deal with that.

That's why ideally what I want is something like this -

Incoming transaction > Vanity address hosted by me > Bitcoin mixer (coinjoin?) > Ledger wallet

This way everything is hosted by me or using a decentralised system.

By 'forwarded to you' do you mean you get the transaction within that wallet or it goes from your vanity address 1vanityxxxxxxxxxxxx and is automatically sent to your Ledger wallet?

The latter

1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How it is Done? on: April 30, 2016, 01:33:07 PM
Code:
[url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=***] ***[/url]

Anything inside the <url></url> will be the text shown. If you do a <url=>, anything after the = will be what the link goes to.

So if I do <URL=www.website1>website2</url>, it will say website2, but lead to website 1.
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I've got lots of vanity addresses. I want to use them. on: April 30, 2016, 01:25:28 PM
I own a Ledger wallet, which sadly does not support the importing of addresses. I'd like to use my vanity addresses though. Is there a service/app that hosts your private key, and any payments that go through there are forwarded to you?

I can see that there are similar services, but not the same. They all don't allow you to input your own address.

It would also be even better if the funds could be sent through a mixer. Is there also a bitcoin mixer that has permanent mixer addresses, not like bitmixer's 24 hour address?
1678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone booked profit when btc touched $ 400 ? on: April 30, 2016, 01:06:57 PM
I sold at $480 and sold at $430 just a few days ago. Boy am I proud. Made a couple hundred buckerinos I can spend Smiley

1679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Funded a Reddit ad for someone. Reddit has now saved my cc details. on: April 30, 2016, 12:53:28 PM
No i said you should REMOVE your card details and REPLACE the numbers by fake ones, so he can not just purchase more using your card.

If you can not remove them ask the support, or cancel your card.

The problem is that I can't remove the credit card details, so it's annoying. Why does Reddit remember it in the first place?  Angry

I'll contact support, then.
1680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Funded a Reddit ad for someone. Reddit has now saved my cc details. on: April 30, 2016, 12:49:12 PM
Try to replace the credit card details by some fake this should work if not the only option is to cancel your credit card and get a replacement.

What do you mean? If you're suggesting using a false card to void the transaction, that's considered scamming. No thanks.

I have already put in my details. I can't change it. I can use another one however, but then there will be both card details under the "credit card " option.
