221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you need to store your money in your hands! on: January 12, 2020, 05:19:13 PM
Not your keys, not your wallet. This is something that's been said for about as long as I can remember, and it's something that will remain true as long as people are still actively using cryptocurrencies. There's almost zero advantages to storing your coins with a third-party service in most cases (and especially exchanges), and I guarantee that you can store your coins more securely and effectively with a bit of common sense and a hardware wallet or just your computer.

It's not even just with 'dirty coins' either; a lot of exchanges have been and still are being hacked to this day, and in many cases the impacted exchanges do not fully reimburse affected customers. Crypto gives you a whole lot of freedom with your money, and you're the bank, so always be watchful about your funds. Don't put all your funds in one wallet.
222  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 12, 2020, 05:12:01 PM
Good trading is boring, and that's just how it'll be. You can always try to turn on music (which I also do), but not everybody's made to be able to trade full time like this; I was initially very enthusiastic about potentially trading full-time in the past as well, but the boredom also got to me in a few days.

Trading bots could indeed be a way to alleviate some of this boredom if you trust your strategies enough. I do, and most of my trading nowadays is done through Gunbot where I occasionally do some tweaking and let the bot run the strategies I devise at home, though I would much rather prefer to manually handle my trades.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storing crypto on an implant? on: January 12, 2020, 05:07:31 PM

all you need to do is to be well organized and find the best device to put your private key or better do not store all your coins in one wallet, it's always a sound advice.

I completely agree with this. There might be many more sophisticated ways of storing your cryptocurrencies securely in the future, but the best way of ensuring that your coins are as safe as possible is splitting your funds up into multiple wallets and storing them in different places, so you don't just lose everything. Almost every way of storing crypto at the moment has some sort of exploitable vulnerability, so why not plan for that?

Besides this, though, implants would be an interesting way of storing part of your funds, but I certainly would not be one of the first to try if I got the chance purely due to potential health risks.
224  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are the fees on the crypto platform u are trading? on: January 12, 2020, 04:57:38 PM
I use Binance as well, and another exchange that I use is KuCoin that has fees starting below 0.08% and dropping lower as you start trading more volume. Not much a difference percent wise and it doesn't amount to a whole lot for most people, but it's certainly lower.

I'm sure there's also a lot more smaller and obscure exchanges that offer lower fees out there, but I'm glad to pay higher fees for trading on an exchange that I know is reputable and has a history of doing things correctly.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: two gambling games that are players favorite on: January 02, 2020, 11:07:44 PM
I've always found games like crash and roulette to be pretty entertaining while not involving a lot on the thinking side of things, making them perfect for when you're off work and you need something else interesting to relax at home. Crash games are pretty much everywhere as Bustabit is currently actively selling their script online, and most of them are basically indistinguishable from each other due to this, but this also means you can find a crash site for almost any cryptocurrency out there. The same goes for roulette, and there's not much to be said there because it's a classic.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any change this year? on: January 02, 2020, 11:03:04 PM
I'm personally diverting a portion of my attention to other hobbies that I do to get a little extra income this year; as much as I like the crypto community and trading in general, I'm not a fan of the current market conditions at the time and I've found other activities to do in the meantime when I'm not trading or doing more reading on crypto and learning more about trading.

I could also see the bearish trend most cryptocurrencies are in reversing sometime in 2020, maybe even soon. Bear markets tend to be somewhat prolonged especially for coins like Bitcoin, but the downwards momentum seems to have slowed down somewhat in the last few weeks and it's not out of the question that we might make a new high above the high $13ks this year for Bitcoin.
227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tips for Traders here on: January 02, 2020, 10:57:59 PM
You should ideally be learning just the fundamentals of trading and nothing specialized when you start trading as well; you likely won't even have enough and/or the correct knowledge to even start experimenting and finding the style of trading you enjoy the most initially, and to gain this knowledge, you'll need to invest time and your attention to more beginner-oriented materials such as books or online guides.

These tips are also extremely vague or too general, and don't do much to emphasize the potential losses that can be associated with trading. You can easily turn trading into gambling with just a few clicks, and that's something every trader should realize before starting.
228  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 7 Things to Know to Become a Successful Crypto Trader on: January 02, 2020, 10:53:28 PM
I would argue that not only should you avoid risking funds (using those funds) that you can't afford to lose, you also shouldn't be risking funds that you might need in the next year or two just in case an unexpected event happens and you need some source of money to fund that event, because you never know when something urgent could happen.

I would also add that if you're reading guides on how to become successful at trading, you're also likely new to trading and you shouldn't be risking large amounts of money in the first place even if you're perfectly fine with losing it. Most new traders do not make money but rather lose money while learning the ropes, and expect yourself to be no different.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it good to talk about big gains? on: January 02, 2020, 10:49:32 PM
I like to flex from time to time, but I wouldn't say it's the best idea to continuously talk about big victories and large gains because there's plenty of people who could find ways to identify you from places like this forum or in real life and rob or potentially do harm to you for your money. It's still up to you at the end of the day, though, because I don't find this to be a particularly high risk thing where I live, but this might vary based on where you live. I like to be a humble person most of the time anyways.
230  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the general issues/problems do traders or investors usually face during on: January 01, 2020, 09:28:08 PM
Scams are surprisingly a huge problem for a lot of people new to cryptocurrency in general, not just with traders or investors. Most people don't seem to think enough about where their money's going or notice common red flags that signal something's a scam in crypto, but to be fair most people on these forums have been using or interacting with cryptocurrencies in one way or another for years. Scams have become more and more complex recently as well, which certainly doesn't help, but the most we can do around here is noting and discussing common scams and alerting new people about 'em.
231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: to be able to get a large profit in today's trading is very difficult! on: January 01, 2020, 06:20:40 PM
You don't need to get just one singular very profitable trade to be successful in crypto. A lot of people just sit on trades until they reach outlandish targets, but if you're able to make lots of smaller profitable trades while capping losses on those trades, that works just as well too.

If you're trading Bitcoin, I suggest first doing so without leverage and then later moving onto leveraged trading at your own risk. Bitcoin's already volatile as it is, and it just gets worse with leverage and especially worse the higher you go with leverage. Same goes for alts; it's easy to get burned, but the potential profits are high too, though I do sometimes short altcoins on leverage.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: McAfee in Trouble ? on: January 01, 2020, 06:00:42 PM
Not like it really mattered in the first place; we all knew he was a crazy person and even back when the guy was making the prediction, $1 Million USD was still extremely far away even with the momentum we had in 2017. I could totally see more sideways or downwards motion for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency prices in general for the rest of 2020 as well, considering there doesn't seem to be much buying into cryptocurrencies in general and the prevailing trend is still downwards.

People make these insane predictions every day. Nothing new.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you need to store your money in your hands! on: January 01, 2020, 05:13:43 PM

don't you think the exchange will look at it as a dirty coin as well because it has not history except its mixed?

i wanna test the exchanges though if they will freeze my account after depositing dirty coin worth $50. i however don't have a dirty coin. but i'd be amaze if they will indeed freeze my account with just too little to bother. and will they ever allow me to once again create a new account submitting the same KYC.

Most exchanges still allow for mixed coins to be traded and don't do extremely deep analysis into TXes yet, so at the moment mixing coins up one or a few times should be enough. As for your account potentially being frozen for the equivalent of $50, it's still definitely possible if you're absolutely sure that the coins you have are tainted and if the exchange is serious about stopping potential criminals from cashing out their ill-gotten funds. You shouldn't be able to open a new account with the same KYC documents though, because I imagine that becomes blacklisted and you'll likely have to register from a new IP and clear the site cookies as well.
234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bybit Review: The Best Margin Trading Platform on: January 01, 2020, 05:10:30 PM
Yep, Bybit offers Google 2FA which can also be read using something like Authy for 2FA protection. It's indeed pretty much a standard at this point in time, and even though it's got its own vulnerabilities too, it's another line of defense against anyone trying to hack into your account. The site also offers SMS and Email authentication for a bit of added security too, and as always, you should be using a different password than any others you are using online.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many ICOs you know launched their product and are doing well? on: January 01, 2020, 04:37:25 PM
I didn't participate in the initial Ethereum ICO, but I did witness it and it's definitely the most successful ICO I've seen to date. Most of the other ICOs I've participated and invested in since then haven't done too well, though I have had great returns on a few of them. A lot of the projects I invested in throughout 2017 have dropped very significantly in price or no longer even exist or are maintained anymore.

Success is also pretty subjective. The way I view a successful project is very different from someone else's.
236  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Data Leak on Twitter on: January 01, 2020, 04:22:53 PM
I assume the exchange allows for the use of 2FA? That would be one potential positive (and a feature every exchange should offer), though even 2FA does have vulnerabilities that could result in malicious people accessing your exchange accounts.

You might also want to change your passwords for other sites if you have a tendency to use the same password for multiple sites. Hackers like to bruteforce logins on a variety of websites with leaked data, and you never know if another one of your important accounts could be compromised.
237  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What trading bots are you using to manage your portfolio? on: January 01, 2020, 01:57:35 AM
I customized my own strategy almost from scratch, though with a few things borrowed from other places, and I run that strategy using mostly Gunbot on a Google Cloud server that I currently pay for so I can avoid running the software on my home PC 24/7. I just use it for minor trading though, and not particularly like a porfolio manager. I manage my portfolio by hand and manually at home when I have time. I like bots, but I like to have control too.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we review 2019? Please leave few things you achieved or lost in crypto on: January 01, 2020, 01:53:55 AM
I got a bit greedy with leveraged trading towards the latter half of 2019, though I'm still very profitable at the moment mostly due to my riding the way up from 3K to $13k with leveraged longs on Bitmex. One of the better things I've done in 2019 would probably be not overly investing in altcoins, since most of 'em have been slowly declining in their USD and Bitcoin pairs. ICOs and IEOs have never been a problem for me, since I haven't been interested in them for almost two years and my trading and investing style has drastically changed since then.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO's popularity is starting to slump on: December 31, 2019, 04:00:29 PM
I'm not surprised considering most altcoins and cryptocurrencies in general have been declining in price for several months now, and it's hard for fledgling projects to take off in terms of price in market conditions like these. I wouldn't be surprised if IEOs, ICOs or whatever these initial offerings become named in the future start becoming more popular when things start to change, but people just don't seem as willing to invest into crypto as of recently.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel more lucky than usual when it's New Year's. on: December 31, 2019, 03:54:23 PM
I don't necessarily feel more lucky, but I do gamble more than I usually do because I'm with friends and family, and I always like to have a good time under these sorts of circumstances. Nothing else changes unless the casino lowers the house edge or something of the sort for a holiday promotion, and any abnormalities that happen while you're gambling are purely random.

I usually go out at this time of the year to gamble IRL and do other activities too. If you've got the time, I highly suggest you do too- people won't be here forever, but there's always more opportunities to gamble or make money.
