581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of gamblers are rich or poor? on: September 17, 2019, 08:53:40 PM
People from all walks of life gamble, though there's a lot more poor people in this world than there are rich people, so there's likely more total poor gamblers than rich gamblers. For me personally, I'm really not extremely rich nor am I extremely poor, and I also regularly gamble whenever I have free time to do so. A lot of people also unfortunately gamble what they can't afford to lose, which can end up poorly as most people know from experience or hopefully from hearing stories from others.
582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance Blocks US Customers - Where Will Crypto Traders Go Now? on: September 17, 2019, 08:40:20 PM
I'm sure there's plenty of people opening new accounts and trading under the 2BTC limit for newer accounts in the United States just like there's been plenty of people using Bitmex in the U.S. with VPNs to countries like Canada (excluding Quebec at the moment) or Mexico (or really any non-banned country) to circumvent the site's ban on American IPs. I could also see some people moving to KuCoin, though there's likely more people either just waiting for the U.S exchange or just using a VPN if those people don't want to submit KYC as I mentioned before.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Btc is 1st then? Other Alts? on: September 17, 2019, 08:36:15 PM
BTC's absolutely first. There's really no denying this at this point in time, though there's a chance this could change in the future. ETH's second in my eyes and by market cap, though if you're going by market cap even though XRP's third, I'm not a fan of it at all and I'd put maybe LTC or Monero behind ETH. They've both been around before I even knew about crypto, and I love the more anonymous aspect of Monero, though certain exchanges seem to not like it as much.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I want to start a business in gambling, which country do I choose? on: September 17, 2019, 08:32:25 PM
You'll want to be aware of countries that you might want to disallow playing your games as well; there's likely a lot of regulation involved in online gambling in the United States, so many online crypto casinos block registrations or even site visits from American IP addresses, though I know many people just opt to use a VPN to circumvent this and gamble anyways. There's many other territories like Australia and the U.K. that are blocked by sites like Crypto-Games and others as well, and if you'd like to get an idea of this, just view various sites' terms of services and you should get an idea of which places to prohibit.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will There Comes A Time That All Online Gambling Sites Are CryptoCurrency Based? on: September 16, 2019, 09:57:17 PM
I could see it happening, but I really don't see crypto completely replacing all fiat gambling sites, though there might be a time where crypto gambling sites could become more popular than fiat ones. Crypto gambling's already somewhat popular from places where access to online gambling's difficult or with people that just don't want to submit KYC information to gambling sites, and I imagine crypto gambling's only going to become more popular as time goes on just for these two reasons. A lot of people just don't want to get involved with cryptocurrency as well for various reasons, though, which is part of why I really don't think crypto gambling's going to completely replace fiat sites.
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Privacy coins getting delisted on: September 16, 2019, 09:52:52 PM
There's still a ton of alternative exchanges where you can trade coins geared mainly towards privacy like Binance (which I also use), sucks that OKEx is delisting them but that's just one exchange whereas many other larger exchanges still have pairs for these coins. This does likely mean decentralized exchanges will get more attention, though most of them at this time many of these DEXes just don't have great liquidity and some of their interfaces are clunky, though that should be fixed with time.
587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys ok if BTC ends in the 10k USD range at the end of 2019? on: September 16, 2019, 09:46:17 PM
I'd be just fine with that. Holding near the $10k range would be much higher than holding $6k before we dropped off to the $3ks last year, and my average cost of entry is significantly lower than $10k, so I'm still comfortably in profit personally. I'd love if we happened to break out of the triangle we're currently in like (almost) everybody else here, and I do expect a significant response from this pattern, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we happened to go sideways for the rest of the year (which I don't really think will happen).
588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you trade? At the exchange? Platform? Bots? on: September 16, 2019, 08:24:41 PM
I do a little bit of everything. I hold the majority of my coins in a cold wallet and I only use that wallet a few times a year, while I trade manually on leveraged sites like Bitmex with a small percentage of my funds and using bots that I've manually tweaked and continue to tweak pretty often. I'm pretty active on Bitmex and they offer TradingView integration with their site, which is nice, but I still do most of my analysis and charting directly on TradingView because it's just much more convenient than working with a small window in a browser. I've never personally coded a bot myself, but I've made plenty of strategies that are mostly nonviable with a few great exceptions.
589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earning from crypto currency on: September 16, 2019, 08:21:01 PM
You're likely going to be better off earning fiat money through the Internet looking for gigs or even just IRL and converting that money to Bitcoin through an exchange. While this does take more time than just earning Bitcoin, you'll likely find more opportunities this way and you might even be paid more in fiat money. Exchange fees do exist, but I've found the additional fiat you earn should offset this.

Mining's a valid way of earning crypto for some people, but you'll need a somewhat significant investment into hardware to even get started, and most people just don't have a viable electrical rate in the first place for mining. You might live in a country with very cheap electricity, but most people generally don't and aren't profitable mining.
590  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Coinbase Pro topic on: September 16, 2019, 08:18:11 PM
I typically transfer funds I'm not trading back into a cold wallet I own if I plan on not using those funds for extended periods of time, though I also do store funds on-exchange for short periods of time for convenience.

As for online security when trading, I don't have anything extra installed on my PC because I don't download random files from the Internet and I'm careful about links I click while online. You should be fine if you use common sense and make sure you're not getting phished through a fake Coinbase Pro site or something of the sort.

As for the fee structure, it's currently pretty middle of the road but I also miss the zero maker fee the site used to have. Pricing tiers $50M and up still get 0% maker fees, but I'm very far from that tier and I imagine most people also aren't anywhere near that.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CSGO Match Predictions on: September 15, 2019, 08:44:31 PM
I've been watching CS:GO less for the last few weeks and months than I have in the past, but I'd be interested to see what you think about some upcoming matches because I'm personally still analyzing and betting on matches just as I have been for the past few years. Incidentally I also began playing CS:GO about four years ago, though I've only watched the professional scene on and off for that time and I've been betting for only about two years. Not too many threads about esports around here in general, hopefully that'll change soon.
592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: i failed in day trading on: September 15, 2019, 08:37:21 PM
Not all people are good at daytrading, some are better at longer-term trading or swing trading, and then some people just aren't fit for trading at the end of the day. If you've really been putting work into shorter-term trading and it's just not panning out for you, try another style of trading and see how that works out for you. I've never been a great day trader either, and I might never be, but I've got strengths located in other areas. You could also continue trying to learn how to daytrade; it might just be a small error that's keeping you from being successful.
593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Platforms to trade like 1broker is there any more? on: September 15, 2019, 08:33:07 PM
One platform I've seen that's similar to 1broker would be WCEX (https://wcex.com/), though I have no idea if they're actually legitimate or not and I haven't been able to find a lot of information about the site in general. I've also heard about SimpleFX (https://simplefx.com/), which has an ANN thread dated back to 2015 on this forum and is more reputable in my eyes than WCEX, though I've never really traded on either of these platforms.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening to new projects? on: September 12, 2019, 08:56:27 PM
It certainly doesn't help that a lot of major alt ratios against BTC have been falling for a while, and the USD value of many major altcoins out there have also been falling for a while now (especially ETH, which hit the $300s in June and has been steadily falling to around $180 where it is today), which might be discouraging people from investing into newer projects. There's also a lot of lower-quality projects out there nowadays which also doesn't help.
595  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Apps for exchanging on: September 12, 2019, 08:24:53 PM

In the past I've often used shapeshift to exchange coins quickly.
However, as you need an account with ID verification nowadays, I don't use it anymore.

Alternatives, which as far as I know still do not require any verification are e.g:
https://changelly.com/
https://flyp.me/
https://coinswitch.co/

Unfortunately, I've read plenty of posts and threads on this forum and elsewhere about Changelly requesting KYC on crypto-to-crypto transactions both recently and a while back, so if you don't want to have the risk of potentially needing to submit KYC to get your transaction finished, I'd suggest avoiding the site. The Changelly FAQ also states the site can request that you submit KYC as well as where the funds you deposited onto their site came from, and if they find your transaction to be 'suspicious', which they don't describe too well.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is or are the contribution of Crypto gambling sites to Crypto Currency on: September 12, 2019, 08:15:47 PM
I definitely agree that online casinos help out crypto adoption and awareness as a whole. I know several people that have asked me for assistance with buying and storing BTC in order to use the coins for gambling (because KYC's a pain, and some people live in countries where it's difficult to get an account to gamble), and I'm sure there's plenty more people who use BTC maybe even just for use with gambling. Hopefully some of those people learn more about crypto and use it for a purpose other than depositing and withdrawing from online casinos, but casinos do help.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping crypto from mass adoption? on: September 11, 2019, 09:00:58 PM
There's tons of exchanges out there nowadays that are made to be extremely simple to use and accessible for newcomers to crypto as well (though KYC and various things such as KYC is one of the trickier things for most people). Some of the people I've introduced to crypto and especially Bitcoin have complained about transactions taking a while to 'process' or confirm, but that's really the main complaint I've noticed. Most wallets nowadays are also very simple to understand and are very well documented, much better than how it was in 2014 when I really started to gain an interest in crypto. We've sure come a long way from then.
598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 10 Useful Browser Extensions or Plugins that benefits Crypto Users on: September 11, 2019, 08:23:21 PM
The last time I used the Ledger Chrome app was a couple months ago using the Bitcoin app, and as o_e_l_e_o mentioned, there's really no good reason to use the Chrome apps anymore because you're just getting way worse security using them, and the Chrome app's likely not going to have recent updates or security fixes as well (might just be plain buggy by now as well). Looking at the Chrome download page of the Ledger Wallet Bitcoin, the app was last updated in July 2018 which was more than a year ago. I've had a few minor issues with Ledger Live recently as well, but it's still not worth going back to the old app.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 11, 2019, 08:16:34 PM
I gamble for the adrenaline I get from it as well. I've got plenty of money to use after paying all the bills and such from my job and this forum, so gambling's a great way for me to kick back and relax after a long day or a couple long days. I'm currently in the red like most people are with gambling, but that's the price you'll be paying for this sort of entertainment. You'll pay in one way or another for any form of entertainment you enjoy, money just happens to be the payment for gambling.
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am trading over at Coinbase Pro on: September 11, 2019, 08:12:28 PM
I've been trading over at Coinbase Pro for a long time as well, no problems with 'em except I also make sure that the funds I move to and from the exchange aren't directly linked to any gambling services, such as the funds I withdraw and deposit to FortuneJack as the last time I've checked, Coinbase bans accounts that are linked to gambling sites. Not entirely sure if this is enforced for Coinbase Pro, but I'm still not taking any chances.
