742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You Should Know Before Playing A Crypto Betting Game on: August 01, 2019, 04:04:42 PM
The code of a site being open-source doesn't really matter much unless you're able to read and verify the code's legit yourself or someone else has recently done that for you, though. I do agree that sites should at least have checking tools to ensure each spin/roll is legit when applicable, however.

Almost all games obviously have house edge and are thus -EV to earn the operator profit as well. A lot of people I've met don't seem to realize that, unfortunately, and end up losing money as a result of that. The house wins in the long run.
743  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want to daytrade on bitmex with leverage on: August 01, 2019, 03:56:55 PM
Bitmex's UI is great and very customizeable compared to that of a lot of other exchanges; might be part of the reason why you like the site. That's one of the main reasons why I use it myself. Smiley

As for leverage, I would suggest using leverage under 5x and rarely 10x if you really must. If you're setting market stops and using a tool like http://antiliquidation.com/ to calculate your stops and R/R, you can use leverage under whatever amount the site suggests (anything over means liquidation price > stop). Here's a good Medium guide on how to use the tool; pretty basic, but a very good read especially if you're new to Bitmex and leveraged trading.

I typically use just MAs and RSI for LTF trading, though I usually trade 15M in such a circumstance and not 5M.

For % gains, don't worry about that and rather just focus on executing trades with good setups at the right time. If a market is untradeable for you, don't force a trade and just wait 'till a good setup comes and use it. Don't force yourself to make a percentage gain per week or month or whatever your goal is too much.
744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Year to year price levels chart on: August 01, 2019, 03:51:42 PM
I could see us ending the year at $12k-$20k as well, but likely not much higher than that at the moment, though nobody really knows that far out considering it's only August right now. Overall we're still in an uptrend and I don't see prices breaking down much further than they already have, and we do definitely have a chance at the previous ATH if upwards momentum takes over again and we start heading back up.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Inching Closer To $10,000 on: July 31, 2019, 09:00:37 PM
I'm pretty suspicious about this recent little pump we've had as well since we're just barely holding our heads over the 5-digit $10k mark, and there's been no shortage of violent, bart-like movements recently. We've been in sideways for a few hours today and I wouldn't be surprised if this action continues before another move downwards. Also looking at the region near $10300 before potentially entering a long as it seems support was present there before we fell through to the $9ks, likely an area of resistance now. If you care for RSI, it's currently hovering right on 70 on the hourly on GDAX and climbing near that region on the 4H, though things can stay overbought and oversold for a while with crypto.
746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VPN that accept Bitcoin as payment? on: July 31, 2019, 04:49:08 PM
Mullvad (click for link) also accepts crypto payments with either Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash accepted, and they're a very nice VPN with great speeds in my experience. You can use the VPN on almost any platform like most VPNs, and the site states they don't keep activity logs and encourage payments via crypto so buyers are as anonymous as possible. Only about 5 euros a month, and you get a 10% crypto discount too. I've tried out AirVPN as well and it was also excellent, no problems there.
747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: need help with deal on this forum on: July 31, 2019, 02:30:03 AM
Using VirWox also incurs a lot of fees because you're buying SLL and then converting the SLL to BTC and then paying for withdrawal fees as well AFAIK. The site also only takes payments from Sofortbanking and Skrill at the moment, as they've disabled PayPal Express Checkout deposits and straight credit card deposits. You could try converting your PayPal funds for Bitcoin on a site like Paxful, though the exchange rate there will be subpar as well since PayPal's risky for the person on the receiving end; you're best off just not using PayPal to buy BTC in the end.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: July 31, 2019, 02:20:37 AM
Not really, my life's really been nearly the same since I started gambling because I typically don't gamble very large amounts and I only gamble occasionally, mostly on the weekends when I do happen to gamble. I've had some decent wins over the years that I've used to pay off bills and various other expenses that I have to pay off, but nothing I would consider life-changing (that'll be from holding crypto). Just a source of entertainment  that I utilize when I'm bored at home in the end for me. I've always had good self-control so I rarely have problems with gambling too much money, but there's been times when I've slipped before.
749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Significant Sudden Move on BTC Price on: July 30, 2019, 04:54:33 PM
This could still break down and we could be back in the $9500s soon, though this is a bit different from the other wicks we've had recently as the hourly closed and the candle body isn't significantly shorter than the wick, but seems like we're going sideways again after that brief pump. Seems like the pump originated from GDAX or Binance, had some pretty big liquidations on Bitmex as well from what I can see on the new Bitmex Rekt twitter account. Doesn't seem to be any significant news that impacted this pump either.
750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think about investment pools? on: July 30, 2019, 02:50:19 PM
I hardly trust anybody on Telegram or Discord with my money. If I don't have the money to invest in a project on my own, I'd go to look elsewhere. There's plenty of scams out there on Telegram and Discord, and this can be an easy way for scammers to get money. Use your own wits and your own money and you'll be able to stay away from a lot of dubious or scammy projects out there.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I don’t share Strategies anymore? on: July 30, 2019, 02:40:03 PM
Some people do reveal pretty basic strategies for various things from gambling to trading on sites like YouTube and Medium or other places including this very forum, but very few people are going to reveal extremely good or profitable strategies because strategies can become somewhat saturated if leaked to the public. House edge does exist in almost all casinos and a lot of games are -EV, though, so strategies will almost never work in the long term, so keep that in mind.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analyst: Bitcoin below $ 10,000 is a gift! on: July 30, 2019, 05:58:31 AM
I'm extremely bullish for the long term, so I would definitely agree that whatever coins I manage to buy through DCAing at these prices are most definitely a gift and will pay off in the future. Not trading leveraged anymore as we're seeing large stophunts now and things seem somewhat uncertain at this point in time, but I do not expect this bearish trend to last too long.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Maximum bet amount on single bet! on: July 30, 2019, 05:53:16 AM
In my very early days I spent $1000 on a single CS:GO match bet that went poorly- was on an overdog and the underdog managed to come back from a very poor scoreline to win 16-13. Don't remember the exact name, but from that point forwards I started betting a fraction of that amount and I started to learn some very basic money management then, and I spend even less on gambling nowadays. I mostly just gamble here and there on the weekends with an occasional CS:GO bet or dice/crash game here and there now.
754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Looking for a working version of Acrobat Pro or Phantom PDF Editor on: July 30, 2019, 02:44:00 AM
AFAIK LibreOffice allows you to edit PDFs; I only use LibreOffice for typing things up occasionally because I don't want to pirate software and I don't want to pay the full price for Acrobat. From what I've heard, Xodo PDF reader (click for link) works pretty well too, but I've never used it and AFAIK the application is only available to install on the Windows store. Plenty more alternative PDF editors are listed on Reddit as well.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What messenger do you use to chat with your crypto gambling buddies? on: July 30, 2019, 01:39:42 AM
Telegram would be good if you are chit chatting with your gambling buddies but usually people do make use on in sites chat boxes. It might be crowded but less hassle rather than on opening a new window for an another chat messaging app.
Some sites don't have a chatbox though, or poor chatboxes in some circumstances, though FortuneJack does have a Discord where you can talk to other people and receive support from site representatives as well. Discord's just got so many more features than most chatboxes do that I typically use it for chatting with people and acquaintances that I know now. Never had a problem with their servers going down ever before, and audio quality is decent enough.
756  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: OKEX vs Bitmex on: July 30, 2019, 01:35:45 AM
I am going to test deribit as well, but speaking about deribit I am more interested in options than futures.
As far as I know deribit is the only exchange where you can trade options and I will try just for experience.

What about Bybit? is it worth seeing?
Eh, Bybit's basically the same thing as Bitmex but with a slightly different UI (worse than Bitmex's IMO and no trollbox if that's your thing) as I mentioned, haven't seen an overload on the site yet in the few months that I've been trading on it though, and the books are pretty decent at all times. They also don't seem to block US IPs from trading (on one right now), but if what you're looking for is a Bitmex clone with the same fees and nearly same other features, then this is it.

Bybit also doesn't have futures. Only perps from what I can see now.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good bitcoin poker sites on: July 29, 2019, 07:24:03 PM
I had good results with Bovada a few months ago when I played there, decent site and legit from all the threads about them that I've read on Reddit and elsewhere. Also available to Americans the last time I checked if that applies to you.

There's some negative feedback on the Bitcointalk account representing NitrogenSports at the moment (click for link), and as far as I can tell most of the issues raised by the negative feedbacks have never really been fixed, so I can't recommend the site at this time. Used to be decent back when I did use the site though.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here have some strategy to gain money, but with low profits daily? on: July 29, 2019, 05:01:15 PM
As for a strategy that involves actively gambling, no. I do, however, invest in a couple of casinos' bankrolls which does yield a pretty low but stable profit for me. If you're trying to go down the investing route, do note that whales can still wipe you out if they score a large win, though this usually isn't a problem if you're not leveraging your investment into a casino. Last time I checked Crypto-Games and Bitvest allowed you to invest in their bankrolls if you're looking to start out, though a bunch of smaller sites do also allow you to invest as well.
759  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 50 moving average current resistance level that bitcoin most break. on: July 29, 2019, 04:56:40 PM
Including a picture of where the 50MA is currently at since OP didn't post a picture of it below. Used Bitcoinwisdom.io to make this image, adjusted MA parameters using the 'settings' section on the site. I would agree it does look like resistance at this point, and we even had a little flip of the support to resistance as well with the candle from the upper $10ks to $9k. Been looking at a potential double bottom at $9k with the daily candle yesterday as a result of the stophunt we had as well. I am personally staying out of the markets for the time being, however.

760  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: People expecting collateral for all loans on: July 29, 2019, 03:25:32 AM
Last time I checked there were still people offering loans to trusted and higher rank members on this forum without collateral in the Lending section, though I would agree that requiring collateral for some loans is necessary considering this is an online forum with semi-anonymous posters anyways- different to what it's like in the real world. Just doesn't make sense to offer collateral-less loans to everybody when someone could just take the loan and run as a person with less reputation here.
