Enjoy your deflating currency.
Are you hoping for 2011 style and a rise once again in the future?
I'm hoping for moon. I'm expecting the worst. As always.

I just ready myself psychologically. Many people here don't want to do this and prefer to dwell in their delusions until inevitably, they are shattered. That is fine too.
1422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 01:59:12 PM
Did I miss something... what's this sell-off?
That's the result of the Bitcoin cultists' delusions and lies shattering about what Bitcoin is at the current stage.

At some point, the cognitive dissonance becomes too hard to bear.

1424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Part 2: Answer to "What will the government do to bitcoin?" on: January 09, 2014, 12:55:53 PM
Basically: "We've never been at war with Eurasia."

Thanks for the insightful threads zhangweiwu.
1425  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 08, 2014, 09:49:37 PM
Been waiting on roughly $8k in transfers from Gox to a US bank. Withdraw was "confirmed" on Gox's site on December 9th. Nearly a full month later, I'm guessing I should expect at least another 2 month delay?
You will never get the money via SWIFT. There are people who have withdrawals from June 2013 that have not been paid.

June 2013.
1426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Downtrend started? on: January 08, 2014, 09:35:58 PM
Sure, but only if I get my share on the premine.
1427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Downtrend started? on: January 08, 2014, 09:32:06 PM
I suggest passiveaggressiveunironicallyironicpermabullcoin.

Plus a little Kanye West and Doge. Forgot about that.
1428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Huobi volume dropped like A ROCK on: January 08, 2014, 09:31:41 PM
also, i don't check facts. Because well... facts are irrelevant in this market.
This is actually true. I handle it the same. That's why I hardly ever actually read any articles anymore.
1429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Huobi volume dropped like A ROCK on: January 08, 2014, 09:21:35 PM
Where on earth do you see this?

I'm seeing 180k BTC volume on huobi in the past 24h here: http://bitcoinity.org/markets/list?currency=ALL&span=24h
1430  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc-e now has the biggest daily volume on: January 08, 2014, 07:44:56 PM
False data and manipulation everywhere.

I see that bitcoincharts' 30d data differs from bitcoinity's hugely for some reason. On bitcoinity, btc-e is third with 569k, but on bitcoincharts it is first with 844k.

Compare:
http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/
http://bitcoinity.org/markets/list?currency=USD&span=30d

Goes to show how little you can trust those websites. Sad

Been a good run.
1432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confidence then, confidence now! on: January 08, 2014, 01:43:43 PM
It helps fight their inflation (surplus CNY) problem.
It gives their citizens something of value to invest in.
China produces all the Mining gear
Chinese government is probably doing all the mining, after-all, only large scale operations are now capable of serious Bitcoin mining.
All China's top companies were getting on board.

One month later, we have a perceived Chinese Bitcoin ban 3 weeks around the corner cos:

Bitcoin facilitates capital flight from CNY into global currencies (with hindsight, were The Peoples Republic of 'pegged to the Dollar' ever going to allow this shit to spread unabated?)
It allows China's citizens to operate off the financial radar
All China's top companies are dropping it like a shit covered brick
Government is telling top retail websites to stop selling Mining Equipment
Thanks, this is a valuable writeup providing good perspective as to how not only the sentiment but the news narrative itself can rapidly change by 180 degrees, and thus, in truth, price action is king, because only on the charts depicting actual bets do we have the complete picture of people expressing their true beliefs.

Dirty secret 2: I am actually hoping for another moon. Bear markets are terrifying.
No no... you don't seem to understand it very well.
WE ARE GOING TO THE MOON EVEN IF THERE'S A BEAR MARKET!

HODL!!!!!!1
Yes, but it can take years, and in the process, you will inevitably begin doubting yourself.

My dirty secret is that I actually have Bitcoins at all times, no matter how doomed Bitcoin may be. Embarrassed

I am puzzled how btc-e has consistently higher volumes than both Bitstamp and MtGox. Who trades there?
1439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2014, 10:03:35 AM
<edit> I just realized how bitcoin could be driving a rift between east & west, at least economically. That plus the Diaoyu/Senkakku Islands thing. Even tougher to maintain status quo. Just a side note for now.
Indeed it's too bad for nations holding livestock rather than citizens.

That's an awesome avatar. Is it MJ-12 from Deus Ex?
Thanks, and it is indeed!
