Thanks for sharing your market analysis out of the psychiatry, reptilia. 300k USD until Christmas!

I am currently detained in a psychiatric institution in Helsinki, because I need rest. My physical well-being is taken care of.

Absolutely hilarious.
2404  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: May 16, 2013, 09:37:03 PM
Thanks, that's great. Bitcoin is really capturing the market.

I will have to try WebMoney out sometime then.
2405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: May 16, 2013, 08:50:26 PM
Can you pay with WMX (mBTC) directly on any shops that accept WebMoney? I suppose it converts the currency to whatever the merchant wants, like PayPal?

Never used WebMoney before.
2406  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is the price going up? and how the fuck do I get my money out of Gox? on: May 16, 2013, 04:18:24 AM
Any withdrawal method except for Dwolla works. International bank transfers, for example.
2407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt. Gox is an unlicensed money exchanger dealing in "crypto-currency." on: May 16, 2013, 01:49:17 AM
It's a whois site for EVE Online.

That's right, he named his real-world corp after his MMO one.
What did you expect from the Magic the Gathering Online Exchange?
2408  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PSA: 'Bitcoins' in Ripple are not Bitcoins. They are not real, can be seized. on: May 15, 2013, 10:27:57 PM
Correct. In the Ripple system, Ripples are the superior asset for their lack of counterparty risk. Furthermore, they are inherently valuable for maintaining account balances and conducting transactions.

Ripple is set up as a parasitic system that takes advantage of Bitcoiner's naivety advertising "decentralized exchanges" to then suck off the blood of its host and kill it with time. Because Bitcoiners don't understand the above, they believe Ripple will complement it, but in reality, it will only do so for a short amount of time until there is no more reason not to switch to Ripple's internal XRP currency.
2409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sentiment in 2011 on: May 15, 2013, 07:25:05 PM
Is this the beginning of The Great Dollar Extraction? If the Dollars drain out of the system via international wires and people deposit more reluctantly than they used to (and of course, they will not be able to any more via Dwolla), it might very well be.

Still awaiting confirmation on the charts, however.
The recent news adds to the evidence.

Awaiting confirmation on the charts.

commies
Sad It's happening.
2411  Other / Meta / Re: Question to mods re. thread relevance on: May 15, 2013, 03:29:11 PM
Depends if there is a good enough context to speculation on BTC prices. It's more to do with Service Discussion than speculation imo.
2412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yay MtGox and the panic buy on: May 15, 2013, 10:58:01 AM
Sturle, why? International wires still work. Maybe this is what some are doing.
2413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 15, 2013, 09:03:09 AM
If there's bigger news in the morning about DHS launching criminal proceedings against Gox, yesterday's downswing will look mild. If the biggest BTC exchange loses the ability to do business with US clients, that's a _huge_ problem, and not at all a case of having weak hands or being too bearish.
It's ok, ignorance is bliss. People need their illusions.
2414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Department of Homeland Security on: May 15, 2013, 03:58:39 AM
for every action there is a reaction.

i wonder what role the Chinese will play in this.  there have been hints that they might actually support the Bitcoin concept.  is DHS sending a message?

if so, i'm sure a response will be forthcoming in some form or manner.

The Cold Bitcoin War. More hashrate!
2415  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Sources said traders would have a hard time getting US dollars out of Mtgox" on: May 15, 2013, 02:49:05 AM
AFAIK international wires are working fine.
2416  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitPay Hires Bitcoin Core-Developer Jeff Garzik on: May 15, 2013, 02:15:16 AM
Devs are "allowed" to make money you know.

Congratulations.
It can certainly represent a conflict of interest. But it's no problem, I've long realized Bitcoin won't change anything fundamentally. Even in a success scenario, the block chain would be limited with extraorbitant fees for transactions, making it only possible for crypto fat cats to make use of Bitcoin's actual properties. The plebs would again be exposed to centralization and "banks", necessarily. Trust is not removed, only shifted.

I digress. Grin

Don't worry Blitz ... people are out there working on the next layer for the "plebs" to enjoy bitcoin-like freedom too .... trust "noone".
Any concepts out there yet? Interested to see if this could work.

Sorry for the offtopic.

As of close, yesterday:

Drop the blue trendline down a bit and we are still on it.

Subconsciously or otherwise, that line is in people's heads and is affecting their long-term plans.
New chart please.

Bitcoin rule #73:
A bad news never comes alone.

I wonder what else we'll learn shortly.
When it rains, it pours. Smiley
2420  Economy / Speculation / Re: How strong is your hand? on: May 14, 2013, 11:23:13 PM
We only disagree on one point then:

Gold, stocks and real estate are risky. Buying land is only useful if you know how to and you are willing to farm it yourself. Of course you could set yourself up with someone renting the land for a part of their harvest. But I think could be borderline immoral, and history has shown that isn't the way to efficiency.
Gold, maybe blue chips stocks and Real Estate are obviously far less risky than Bitcoin. There is only one Gold, and has only ever been, and it's always been a store of value. Bitcoin however has competitors, is not totally proven etc., it's obviously a high risk high return investment.

For this reason I believe you should only either invest a small part of your net worth for the longer term, OR if you invest a large part, you be prepared to watch it like a hawk.
