You're asking at a very volatile moment. With their failure to deliver, HashFast is in a weak legal position and will and ludvig are likely exploring options to negotiate a satisfactory deal for IceDrill. That may take a week or two until some answers are ready. Before that time I don't see how a "private" investor meeting can be of any use other than to stir the FUD. The fate of the IceDrill investment at this point more or less depends on the negotiation skills of the IceDrill management, as the exposure to HashFast is considerable. That said, it would be nice if the IceDrill management would supply any updates they can spare. I've been talking with them over Skype since the beginning. Willem and Ludvid will be there and answer if they want. Having a communications channel with people with a stake in achieving a similar goal can only be good and should in no way hinder negotiation with HF. |

No, all hashfast customer emails were leaked. If the users had gmail addresses you could scroll over their address in gmail to get their name, work, schooling, etc. This was in violation of their privacy policy and they did not notify customers via email of the leak (Which i'm pretty sure is in violation of law in US and elsewhere). I don't know what they're playing, it seems they're doing everything to stir shit. I'm getting scarred not to get my stuff delivered before some mad man blow a fuse on them. |

Our apologies for not communicating more often these past days. We have been going all-out on production in order to ship Batch 1 units by December 31.
We have enough GN chips in hand for all Batch 1 orders. We also have enough hardware (boxes, cooling systems, power supplies, etc.) on hand for all batch 1 orders.
We are in the final stages of production. Our initial modules (Rev 0) had reliability issues due to the PCB layout (Printed Circuit Boards). We received Rev 2 PCBs this morning and they are currently being assembled.
We expect these rev2 PCBs to work well, and to begin bulk production and be on track to ship batch 1 orders December 31.
The remaining steps (assembling the modules into the Sierra or Baby Jet chassis, packaging and shipping) are quick and generally very predictable process.

Does that mean the network will get smaller? Probably not if Bitcoin is more popular. The exchange rate would only need to rise 25.5/14.5 = 75% to $1,230 USD per BTC for miners (collectively) to make the exact same ~$1B in annual revenue they do now. That is just with a 75% rise in 3 years. If it is more than 75% then the network will probably be bigger than it is now despite the block reward being lower (much like the network is 700 million times larger now then when the block reward was 50 BTC). This is a problem in my mind. It means mining stays the same, but the network and its activity grows, which means less security relative to the size of the network. But if the network grows, won't we need all that extra security? The reality is the network today is likely more secure than it needs to be. It pays miners roughly $1B in revenue for a network which has far less than that in current day real economic activity. This isn't really a problem because the secondary goal for mining is to provide the initial distribution. I am not saying Bitcoin is hurt by "too much security" but it also wouldn't hurt if that ratio declined some. Bitcoin today is kinda like using a $50,000 safe to protect a single 1 oz gold coin. Now imagine you didn't upgrade the security and added an additional gold coin each year for the next couple years. Not really problem although the ratio of security to gold has declined. Still the 75% was just to highlight how small of a rise in the exchange rate would be needed to keep the hashrate roughly the same in the face of block value declining. 75% over 3 years is 20% annualized. I am fairly certain if Bitcoin continues to be adopted it is going to grow faster than a 20% annualized rate. If it doesn't then well having the network hashrate fall by half is probably the least of our worries. Satoshi was a clever guy, the incentive to "do the right thing" grows with the value of the network. I don't see the bitcoin network as being secure enough, currently an attack wouldn't target single transactions (double spend). Why are you comparing daily transactions to what miners get paid yearly ? IMO, An attack right now would target the whole trust in the network and thus usability. When judging of the security I would compare the cost of an attack to the perceived probable lost incurred by Bitcoin to the traditional banking system. Something that is hard to number but that is more closely related to market cap. |

Not respecting their initial ETA by months then refusing to update with new ETA. Are you ffffing kidding me? Do you know what E stand for in ETA? an approximate calculation or judgement of the value, number, quantity, or extent of something.
