Wondering ,,, Since BFL isn't specifying anything about Bitcoin mining in their ASICs press release, is it safe to assume it can also do something else too ? like cracking ?

I think only the scammers are making noise here to rush the process for their selfish gains.

this line show how wrong you are, you are keeping the ppls money and dont pay any compensation, if you compensate me with lets say 0,1-0,5% from total balance for each day that can be "fair", you keep my funds and i cant join the market, calling ppl scammers show how ignorant you are, ppl join the bitcoin thing for the profit and you dont allow ppl to make a profit
genjix That's a bunch of shit and you fucking know it- but I would expect continued attempts by you to discredit any and all claims.
How much money have you had in there to bother us all with personal attacks ? While I agree on most of what you say, please start a new thread about it,
Sorry ,,,/not your fault/ Following this shit has gotten very tiresome.

In Prague he said something along the lines: "You guys need to be on the phone, if you're not on the phone, you go down.". I just remembered this. Hmm, did we achieve this goal sufficiently already with bitcoinspinner, blockchain.info wallet, electrum4a,... ?

If by on the phone he meant smart phone, obviously yes, we'll be covering this aspect.  If he meant analog line, I don't get it .
985  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitcoinX charts & dashboard - difficulty vs. price, forum top 10 on: June 15, 2012, 08:31:01 PM
Could you raise TOP 10 topic to 15 (or more)

I watch your website about 5 time a day and still feel like I'm missing a lot of interesting thread.

I also suggest that you move the top 15 discussions to the top instead of the news section that seems to get outdated very fast.

Thanks for being my morning front page.

If you email me from your Bitcoinica email, I can tell you the status of your claim.

How is this possible without a database?  Something isn't right.

If you filed a claim, you gave them your email address.

Ok, and what do they compare that to?  No database means no records.  Are they going by memory?

"Bob is claiming 50 bitcoins, that sounds about right for Bob.  Andy is claiming 70 - that seems a bit high from what I remember..."

990  Other / Off-topic / Dual use ASICs, Mining and Cracking on: June 14, 2012, 04:41:59 AM
Given ASICs have near zero resale value in the event of a bitcoin collapse.

Could someone technical explain; How different is Bitcoin mining to SHA cracking and how much more would it cost to fab such a dual use device ?

Albeit small, I see no end in demand for SHA-1 & 2 cracking, be it for legit password recovery services or evil hacking of encrypted assets.
If the cost is marginally higher (30%) it could significantly reduce the investment risk.
991  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do ASICS protect the network again? on: June 14, 2012, 04:10:34 AM
They simply DO NOT, because mining then becomes about capital ONLY, not man power or technical knowledge.
...................................................
History shows, capital can purchase man power and technical expertise.

OP FAIL !

Good lord,, stop crafting comments to OP that fail at line one.

992  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC = The end of decentralized mining on: June 14, 2012, 12:50:34 AM
Why?

Because I'm too cheap or to much of a pussy to get into the game.

GPU weren't risky at all compared to ASIC.   ASIC's are risky for both the buyer and the maker.
Ex : I sold used GPU for more than I had paid them 1 years back.

The risk being taken is to make the whole bitcoin network less risky.  Can't complain the fundamentals...

 Huh

If BFL were to offer lifetime price protection it would greatly reduce risk to miners while also motivating enough initial funding.

Please verify your ownership of the claimed account by opening the claim and authenticating.

Sorry I don't understand.  ,,, I don't feel like trying either.

Please care to elaborate.

Sorry if repeating the obvious , How can such a simple network connection exist in an enterprise ready OS ?

What is the best way to set a static IP via CLI ?
998  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 07, 2012, 04:16:37 AM
I herein give Bitcoinica the right to to keep 15 of my imprisoned BTC to pay someone to fix and update their website with current status ... and while at it have a valid certificate.

I ask everyone to contribute, Genjix need a day off !
He's doing all of this without a pay from what I read.
999  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 05, 2012, 02:45:06 AM
There are dollars and bitcoins in my Bitcoinica account.
The following 5 refunding solutions , which Bitcoinica will choose? :

1. refund dollars AND bitcoins
2. refund dollars ONLY
3. refund bitcoins ONLY
4. exchange bitcoins to dollars at SOME rate, and refund dollars
5. exchange dollars to bitcoins at SOME rate, and refund bitcoins
All options but 1 and 5 are ridiculous.

The real question is HOW and WHEN,  If you aren't aware yet, they have no way to know precisely who owns what.

Maybe his Skype password was the same as his email password and the hacker is having fun with all his social networking accounts.

sounds very good. thanks for the update

This user is currently ignored.

Almost one month and nothing but excuses and promises. The last posts were again, nothing but delaying tactics.

Subbed for updates.

Can't you just click on the "notify" link?

only if he checks his e-mail :/

I heard that there are ways of generating lots of interest on BTC investments.

Users can demand whatever they like but it doesn't mean the business is obliged to pay it.

For F sake, THIS IS NOT A CHATROOM
