261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 25, 2023, 07:02:47 PM
What stopped you when the price was low? don't let the sudden increase make you rush into the market- learn to control your emotions.

One of the challenges of some traders is that they don't know when is the right time to enter the market.  Some traders feels when the market is red it is always a wrong time to get into the market to trade. If the green should only be considered as the best time to enter the market, I think it won't always be a right decision. Going into the market when it is green is just greedy sentiment for trading.

Sometimes when the market is red it can also be a good time to enter the market if carefully watched.  Not all green ends up with profit and not all red ends with loss too.
Traders needs to learn when is the right time to enter the market and not to judge when to enter with a particular signal.  Signals are unprecedented and may change faster than it's expected.

Good point and advice. However....

.....a trader can't learn how to properly deal with their emotions if, in the first place, they didn't fully experience yet being in the worst trading situation. Learning to control the emotion is already a famous advice but to fully understand the deep meaning of that, a trader should really experience several mistakes on the way. It's not easy to control the emotion as it was human nature. Honestly, even professional traders can't deal with their emotions.

But what matter here is, as long as the trader is serious about pursuing success in trading, controlling the emotion can be managed properly on the way.

Traders needs to learn when is the right time to enter the market and not to judge when to enter with a particular signal.  Signals are unprecedented and may change faster than it's expected.

You are right there but didn't you know that determining the right timing, sometimes requires a trial and error? That's the challenge there.

It's easy to say but it's not that simple to execute.

We can't always achieve a 100% success rate in trading but we can make our winning stats more dominant over losing stats.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 25, 2023, 06:29:48 PM
Found myself losing when the money line changes from 1.75 to 4.35 as the game began. But sometimes when I also wait for the game to start, it changes to worse such from 1.75 to 1.10

As a sports bettor, you should really expect that change of line while the match is approaching. Especially, of course, in live betting.

But I'm more curious about your example. Do you mean the moment the game began, the pre-match odds from @1.75 turned to @4.35? As in when the game began? The jump of odds is quite distant and these are the possible scenarios that I think happened to your concern:

- Maybe the status of those players under "game-time decision" or what would be called it in other sports, are now officially out when the game starts? But for that huge gap of odds when the game began, maybe those players are really key players or a "big deal" on that team

- Or maybe, you just think that the line moves when the game began but actually, the game was already started, maybe several minutes ago, and it was an early dominance by either one of the teams resulting in that quick jump of odds in the "live betting".

Personally, I don't have a single preference on whether to bet only in pre-match odds or during a live bet. Hey, both are worth trying. Smiley
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, investment, stocks..... on: June 25, 2023, 05:28:38 PM
...except that risking in gambling has more benefits than risking in trading.

I think that would be subjective and we can't generalize it as a "fact" or something along those lines.

As I mentioned before, there are different approaches to trading and usual gambling.

Therefore, depending on the expertise and knowledge of a user, we are the ones who can properly manage the risks associated with both. We can't conclude who has the worthy risks to try on. Just to make it simple, if a user really wants or eyeing to earn profits from either of those, then proper money management should be a priority alongside enhancing and improving our respective risk-management approach.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 25, 2023, 04:50:47 PM
Is this happening for real? I am just surprised to see this type of gambling discussion which I have never imagined like two billionaires who have setup top companies will be competing in a cage match but have some dates been finalized or this is just another one of the influence drama going on for some upcoming projects for both of them? But if this is happening I am seeing lot of hype about it and a great event for gamblers as well with boosted odds.

Obviously, not until there's an official announcement, don't expect that to happen for real.

Both are billionaires, they truly know what they're doing and won't just engage easily in this kind of stuff without any advantage or benefits in return. They are not playing kid games here. We also don't know if there's "hidden stuff" behind the curtain. Smiley

Besides, it's easy to just throw words but to turn those into an actual fight scene, that would require a serious approach and lots of considerations.

..but if that is going to happen, I believe crypto is going to rally so hard.

And in a few days, they will announce that ticket sales or PPV can only be bought with their shilled coins. Cheesy

Stay tuned....
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 23, 2023, 11:41:08 PM
would you prefer to gamble in a casino and make some money or learn about futures trading and make some money?

Depends on the interest and the level of knowledge of both. Especially those who are involved in crypto for a long, they are surely well aware of how Trading Futures works therefore, they might have an interest in being a usual gambler while at the same time, slowly keeping up with the phase on Futures.

As for usual gamblers,  especially those who didn't lurk on crypto most of the time, they might not be aware of Futures trading in general therefore, they will just keep on their usual gambling habit and activity.  Maybe some are not even interested in crypto in general so I don't know how can they even consider doing Futures Trading even if they will know the potential of earning here.

As for some crypto-gamblers, they know Futures so sure but maybe most of them are not interested in too much technicality.

Which one do you actually find to be more easier and I believe that futures trading is also capable of giving someone life-changing money but which one do you believe is less risky than the other?

Risk will depend on how far the person is knowledgeable at those. What matter here is, risks can be managed in general. In usual gambling, luck is the main factor to win on either luck-based games or strategy-based games, while on Futures, although still need luck to favor the situation, the proper timing plays a critical role.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 11:02:58 PM
Green might still be a bit relevant for the Warriors but his style has been long exposed, he became more and more predictable when all those extra passes and lacks the ability to score on his own.

Not his style but technically speaking, Draymond Green's overall performance is only compatible and blended well with the Splash Brothers. Refer to those games where one of the Splash Brothers is out, Green is mostly at worst. Just imagine if both Steph and Klay are out, Green is consistent in being inconsistent. I can't blame him though since he's with the Splash Brothers from the very start and they build their legacy for years "from scratch" - just being a usual role player.

It now depends on how Golden State Warriors is currently looking at his "value" regardless of salary cap space-related concerns:

- as one of the key players why the Warriors got 4 titles (worth around $100M)
- performance-based in general in the previous season (less than his desired contract)
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 23, 2023, 10:22:24 PM
But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

We should take note that Errol Spence Jr., regardless of the status of his opponent, is considered a "PPV King". That's even the main reason they always front about why he should get always the biggest slice of the pie, aside from he holds several titles, as no doubt he's the main reason why most of his fights ended up in decent PPV sales.

And since this match between Spence and Crawford is a long-anticipated match, that takes several years in the making, aside also from the fact that Crawford is a big thing, I'm sure they can sell over a million PPVs and might be one of the notable sales in the boxing PPV history.

Anyways, is the undercards for this match already released? Never saw any details about it when I tried to search for it.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 23, 2023, 10:01:36 PM
Anyway, if casinos have "optional KYC" (and most of them have that), we should be ready for KYC at some moment. If we are not ready for that KYC then we shouldn't even think about depositing there in the first place.

As a regular gambler in fiat online casinos, KYC there is already a common thing. It's because withdrawal options are mostly through the account's online bank (or digital fiat wallet). Not really for the purpose of just winning big. That's why I'm already used to this KYC stuff in gambling.

Besides, it's not that full KYC verification will be asked. There's even no need of submitting IDs or whatever. Just an OTP is enough. However, the case in crypto-gambling sites is different. From what I see, they mostly asked for documents***. Although not mandatory, expect that someday it will be taken as necessary requirement.

I agree with you that users should be ready anytime at KYC, especially, in crypto-gambling sites because of "centralization".
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 23, 2023, 09:41:55 PM
I cannot remember the exact WBC rankings but I believe Santiago is ranked high since he got the chance to fight for the vacant belt? As far as I remember, #1 Moloney went the WBO route, #2 is Donaire, and #3 had a fight schedule last February which made him not available since the mandatory was issued that same month. I think it was Gaballo at #4 or #5. Santiago should be right there.

If I remember it right, and I believe I also posted it here, when this fight was approved last February or March (?), Santiago was currently ranked #6 (118 lbs) by the WBC and given the opportunity to be a contender for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title because ranked boxers above him do now have their respective tasks and scheduled fight.

But referring to the current WBC Rankings (which was updated last June 16), I can't find Santiago's name anymore, even at those other 2 major sanctioning organizations (WBO and WBA). Though he was currently on the IBF rankings, but almost at the bottom ranking.

I don't know what happened to Santiago's ranking status. Moving forward, an opportunity for a title match should be a big break in his career.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 22, 2023, 11:48:41 PM
The biggest question right now and I'm sure will be asked in the press conference is why a fighter like Canelo is in his comeback fight, I know Jermall is good but even a great fighter will have a hard time dealing with ring rust, two years is enough to consider it like retirement, unless he is not stopping his training and does sparring at least 2 weeks in a month.

As per the news, Canelo's fight against Charlo is part of the three-fight deal with Premier Boxing Champions:

- against Jermall Charlo
- against David Benavidez*
- against David Morrel Jr.*

After Charlo, Canelo is supposed to fight again in May and September 2024. For some analysts, Canelo might have been offered a big paycheck for accepting this deal as it's risky for the "cash cow" to just accept fights, and generally, the usually followed timeline for Canelo is at least 1 fight per year.

*still undetermined
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 22, 2023, 11:16:16 PM

What kind of sh*t did I just read lol. Sounds funny. Cheesy

Can't believe both billionaires stepped down on their respective levels and take this challenge seriously.

Reading some related news around, Musk even wants to fight in a cage match, yes on OCTAGON lol.

If that is really serious, meaning no script or any kind of related stuff, that depends on their respective health status. Not sure about their current medical condition but of course, the younger one has the advantage here especially if physically active in their everyday routine.

Though believed that the match won't happen for real. If happened, curious about the odds if ever bookies will even consider listing that match.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 22, 2023, 10:51:55 PM
Khris Middleton just declined his $40,000,000 player option for the coming year. I’m not sure what he’s thinking… He only got that much because they needed a good player to run with Giannis and nobody else wanted to play for the Bucks. I get that Khris wants to secure a long term payday, but I think he may regret passing up that 40 million.

So as a result, he will now become a free agent this offseason.

Scenario 1:

Instead of accepting the player option offered by the Milwaukee Bucks, he surely wants to look for a new and much better deal. Since he will become a free agent, several teams will surely offer him the supposed decent contract he is looking for and for the Bucks, if it's reasonable to do so, they might counter-offer all of it just to keep Middleton on the team.

The risk though is, what if no better offer than the current offer by the Bucks? Even generally consistent, he is injury-prone this past season.

Scenario 2:

Simple as it is, regardless of the contract, declining a player option means he might have a target destination team and don't want to play anymore in the Milwaukee Bucks jersey.

I just do hope that we won't see a Dennis Schroder 2.0 scenario here and his agent is being careful of their decision.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, investment, stocks..... on: June 22, 2023, 10:22:01 PM
Since gambling companies are registered companies, is it possible that they have stocks? Is there anyway to invest in a gambling stock? Or let's say gambling related stocks? I am thinking that if this is possible then this could be one of the ways to get the best out of gambling and investment,

Surely, some gambling companies are involved in stocks. However, you can't expect most to be opened for shares or available in public.

Adding to that, there are also gambling companies that might have a current investment in other stocks and assets. Here in crypto, there are gambling sites that offer bankroll investment but not common nowadays. Other crypto-gambling sites also have gambling utility tokens which as a holder, you can gain benefits from using that in the platform.

If you are really interested to look at those, you can consider consulting a broker for a much more accurate response.

These people are the ones who can really guide you to what you really need specifically.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 22, 2023, 09:58:23 PM
Will you try a trick to win on casino game machines if you were told and it is a 100% working trick to cash out? Will you bet on fixed games if you get the tip early?

In the first place, how can you even cheat a casino?

Not unless you are in a group of hackers who wants to breach the security of the casino but still, you are against the odds and the success rate is not that decent. There is no 100% trick to cheat the casino and forget that mindset.

Will you bet on fixed games if you get the tip early?

Again, in the first place, how can we even know the legitimacy of that tip? That information is not available in public. You can't just find that kind of information being offered to random bettors around. Besides, fixed games are inside jobs and mostly, not being shared.

Surely, those persons who will offer you both that kind of "supposed tricks" are taking advantage of you.

They won't provide that for free so you need to pay in advance. Smiley
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 21, 2023, 11:58:49 PM
I know that the number of women involved in gambling is very small because in some countries, people's views of female gamblers are still very bad and they are considered dirty and unfit to be a wife. maybe the results of this research can be used by gambling business owners in developing their business.

I don't think that the subject here is the number of women doing gambling. The research is just showing us the gender approach in gambling whether as stated, men do like skill-based games while on the other hand, women are mostly on luck-based games.

Regarding the accuracy of that research, I don't know how they ended up in that summarization since there are no exact factors that can be looked at. I'm sure gambling sites don't have that data as well even those with mandatory KYC.

Maybe it's just the product of observation and they likely do some research only on selected regions.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 21, 2023, 11:35:24 PM
If they wait til Casimero turned 40 before they approve this fight, it will just confirm Inoue's team is ducking Casimero.

Simple as it is, Casimero needs to climb rank to be a contender and be recognized.

For now, why the hell Inoue should fight or even start a negotiation with Casimero? Building legacy is associated with the business. Especially if Inoue will won this match against Fulton, Casimero really needs to wait for a long as honestly, Casimero's camp even has difficulties settling a fight against top rank as no bearing if they will fight Quadro Alas for now e.g when their attempt to settle a deal with Luis Nery before failed, etc.

Regardless of Casimero's age, it will only be confirmed if Inoue's camp is ducking Casimero if the latter already established and achieved being a top contender but still didn't get the chance of fighting Inoue. But more importantly, that's not what matters for now. There are lots of "what if" that can happen while Casimero is waiting for his chance to fight Inoue.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 21, 2023, 11:22:59 PM
But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?

As long as the new gambling site is somehow licensed and regulated, these casinos passed the standards and criteria of establishing a well-built casino, and that includes how large their bankroll is. Although it's really possible that more players are good at playing, on the other hand, there are also lots of players that lose even if we are talking about new casinos.

I doubt there's an algorithm that keeps players from not winning. It's just that bad luck mostly happened that's why users have that mindset.

Aside from that, if we talk about new casinos, expect lots of attractive bonuses and promotions there that are mostly associated, obviously with a turnover. Most players are stuck at that bonuses and unable to withdraw once they already have big winnings. As a result, in the end, they will chase it aggressively until it reached, or worst, won't even reached it.
278  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: June 21, 2023, 11:00:38 PM
Some of those gamblers use VPN to hide their real IP address, and most of those VPN's are free, and they all share the same IP addresses to all users. Even if a single user who visit the site using the VPN's IP address performs a malicious activity, the all users on the IP address could face troubles in future.

Although generally, VPNs are mostly accepted by some gambling sites, users just have to make sure that they are using them for a good purpose.

It's fine to hide the IP address as long as the user is still accessing the site in a supported country or region.

But in the case of using VPN in the prohibited countries, that was a different story and is now subject to account suspension or possibly termination.

A gambler should read the T&C of a gambling site carefully before doing any kind of gambling on that casino, otherwise they will have to bear the consequences of their greediness.

How does greediness have something to do with it? Users just want to gamble.

If you are referring to bonuses, it's actually tough to abuse bonuses nowadays. Gambling sites are wise.
279  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 20, 2023, 11:48:35 PM
I was doing a comparison between gambling and trading I find out that their is merging between trading and gambling, I want to explain the categories of trading and gambling from my research gambling don't have to do with skills, but people prefer gambling than trading, While trading is a skill that you will learn and understand the basic factors that can hinder your trading not to be successful, a trader can notice it's mistakes after loss and make corrections while a gambler mistakes can't be corrected because it deals with prediction.

So I prefer trading more than gambling because it is a skill and it can be controlled.

That depends on what you think you can handle, either trading or the usual gambling. Explore your abilities and skills.

As you pointed out, most people prefer the usual gambling because honestly, trading is too technical to learn by the majority. Although if you will lurk, at only trading groups, obviously you will notice that there are a great number of traders too around.

It's your own preference to choose - e.g. based on your favorite, your comfort zone, knowledge, etc.

Either way though, our own money is at risk here that's why always take note of the "do's and don'ts".
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 20, 2023, 11:25:11 PM
The first game is pretty obvious; Blackwater is the favorite, so it's easy to follow that assumption.

Same here, I do expect that but referring to the current odds provided by local bookies, Brgy. Ginebra is still listed as a Favorite despite Blackwater's good run this PBA on-tour. The Moneyline odds are distant too where it's like the supposed odds on the actual conference lol.

I don't know the basis though I tried to look for the current status of both teams' rosters but found nothing e.g injury list, unavailable players, etc.

Ginebra @ 1.63
BlackWater @ 2.14

However, in the second game, TNT might be the slight favorite, but Converge is also a good team.

The first time I see TNT with the super underdog odds. Only on PBA On-Tour. Cheesy

Converge @ 1.16
TNT @ 4.65
