121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is KCGI? on: August 26, 2023, 12:18:20 AM
Hey everyone, I just wanted to know more about KCGI 2023. What exactly is it, and what makes it stand out from other trading competitions?
Is it really worth trying?

It's not that it really stands out from other trading competitions but since the prizes are really big and insane (Up to 2,650,000 USDT, Airbus H135 Helicopter, Tesla Cyberquad, and an iPhone 15 Pro Max, etc.) it was different from the usual trading competition we do see at most cases.

Is it worth trying? Well, only you can answer that if you are really interested in participating. I would be silent about some possible irregularities that might happen here or inside jobs of some sort but doing such will just make Bitget ruin their reputation. By participating here, you trust them to be fair and square.

Anyways, it's mentioned in the FAQ that you are not allowed to register after the registration period ends. As of this posting, around 6 days left to register and have a spot. You are the one who needs to decide if you will participate here or not. Just read carefully all the terms as much as possible.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2023 best bitcoin site? on: August 25, 2023, 11:58:12 PM

Maybe the better term should be, best bitcoin-related websites or some sort.

Not a fan of following any famous crypto streamers or popular crypto personalities so I will disregard their respective channels. Honestly, it's only here, bitcointalk forum that I lurk most of the time since then. I'm using several crypto-exchanges and services as well but not to the point that they are my favorite sites. Just use their service as I need.

Depends though on anyone's preferences based on how they use the certain site.

I don't really know how to give exact criteria to name the best Bitcoin website for 2023.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: August 25, 2023, 11:42:30 PM

It might be that Jerwin Ancajas does have a better portfolio and stats-wise much better to Takuma Inoue but the latter being the champion now and a title-holder, that impression might be changed as being a title holder is no doubt, giving more fuel to a boxer, especially in a title defense.

Much especially fighting a title defense in front of a supportive home crowd.

Ancajas, being more known as an aggressive fighter, I just hope that style will able to pulverize the younger Inoue as even I'm with him on this fight, there is no question that Takuma also improved since then. While fighting against a home crowd, I hope Ancajas will be more inspired to win and get back to the champion's discussion table.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Security measures in casinos are better than exchanges! on: August 25, 2023, 11:24:46 PM
We heard that data breaches and hacks in the crypto currency exchanges are more often and almost every exchange faced that but when it comes to casinos they're actually better in that isn't it cause I don't see any casino's got hacked like exchange which means the casinos are having better security standards when it comes to protecting the data and funds.

There's also a security problem in crypto-gambling sites but we just don't hear those cases most of the time. In crypto exchanges, even the considered Tier III exchanges are being widely in focus once there is confirmed security-breach-related stuff. I even believed that security in crypto-gambling sites is much more breachable than in exchanges. If you don't see casinos got hacked then maybe you are staying only at the one side of the internet.

Generally, there are also lots of crypto-gambling sites being hacked, and at most cases, that situation will just come and go and then will be forgotten.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much it cost to most ALL internet with your casino advertisement? $6.2m/d on: August 25, 2023, 11:10:20 PM

I think that kind of figure mentioned by the OP is already in the advanced form of advertisement where gambling sites on that tier already reached popularity which is why can afford to spend such an amount. It's not that gambling sites should go on that kind of advertisement right away but slowly but surely, they can establish users while in progress only with the use of a few platforms.

Marketing strategy is the key. Spending money is useless in advertisements if it's not used in the proper way.

In most cases, these gambling sites do have a special team for that purpose. These guys are professional and they know what they're doing.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 24, 2023, 11:58:05 PM
Here are the current odds for that particular game:

Moneyline:
Pilipinas 5.50
Dominican Republic 1.15
Spread: +10.5

Are you gonna take the moneyline or the spread?

Understandable though to see such a huge gap in the odds provided the Dominican Republic is a powerhouse team regardless if Karl Anthony Towns is there or not.
Aside from that, rankings play a big factor in odds distribution regardless if it's a host country or not. If someone will have to bet on our Gilas, it's not about the hue gap but rather to show support from the country.

I myself, understand the distance between Gilas and the Dominicans but no way I will support the latter for an obvious reason.

Though technically, performance is the key, I hope the expected big boost from the crowd will fuel the Gilas to play at their top level.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Stay Safe and Avoid Scams When Gambling Online on: August 24, 2023, 11:40:07 PM
The best way to stay safe and avoid scams is to open an online gambling account with a bitcoin only, or other crypto only, online sportsbook or online casino.

While I do really prefer crypto-gambling sites over fiat online casinos, that statement of yours doesn't make sense.

We are talking about safety here and there are sh*t crypto-gambling sites too that can turn scams anytime with a surprise here in the crypto-gambling world. There's no 100% safe here. Related to KYC, how come it is now subject to identity theft when being asked about KYC lol?

Let's not put this too much technical. Stay on the reputable casino, regardless if it's crypto-gambling sites or fiat sites and somehow we can minimize being scammed. Don't believe too much that you are 100% safe if you just choose crypto-only gambling sites. It's even good for those scammers to show their true colors in a decentralized world where freedom is an advantage.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 24, 2023, 11:29:32 PM
Submit your identity and wait for approval, do not be in haste to make deposit first, because the identity you submitted without a green approval from the team can still be rejected, take your time to get the passed approval first before proceeding with gambling.

I found this not good at some point. If we don't have a plan to keep on playing on that site, that's totally not making sense.

If truly afraid about being asked on KYC, then we can check the Terms and Conditions related to that so we know what to do later on. If not satisfied, we can email the support for a much better explanation of anything related to KYC. I don't find it a good idea to just proceed with the identity and verification process when in the first place, we are not planning to play longer on that site.

Aside from that, if deposits are done normally, without any promotion, I don't find the winnings from that as subject to KYC right way not unless the said gambling site does have a requirement of having verified first before any withdrawal should be made. Fortunately, here in the crypto-gambling world, there are lots of gambling sites that don't need a forced KYC regardless of the winning amount*.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: August 24, 2023, 11:17:42 PM
My question is simple, do star players really affect the odds of a bet, or wager or stake on a match, putting into consideration the four levels of contribution in a match, as I mentioned earlier?

Yes, they are. That's why they called "star players" in the first place as they are an important key of the team.

Star players are a big factor; an important piece of a team while on the other hand, being a threat to their opponent. You will notice the change in most cases in pre-game odds and let's say these players are reported to be sidelined, It's noticeable that we can see a said team having unusual odds especially if this team is considered always a favorite.

During a live bet, it also affects the changes of odds when let's say, these star players got injured in the game and have no chance of getting back. Even if the said team is currently in the lead, expect that odds will be changed against them due to the fact that the said star player plays an important role overall on the team.

131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 15, 2023, 11:49:51 PM

Back to Gilas update, they might release the final 12-pool roster 2 days before the official tip-off game of the country vs. the Dominican Republic on August 25. As per the report, that will be after 3 more tune-up games of Gilas before the FIBA World Cup. Those 3 games will be the final testing phase of who will be chosen as the final 12.

Currently, the pool is consisting of 16 players. Who do you think will be left out of that 16 pool?

If I will give my guess, the 4 players for me that somehow should be left out are:

- Kiefer Ravena (lots of guards already)
- Thirdy Ravena (not that athletic and versatile)
- Calvin Oftana (not being used that much so don't know how can he blend well to the team)
- undecided
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 15, 2023, 11:35:28 PM
By the way, guys, what do you think about this change in the upcoming season? Will the regular season be more interesting for players and fans because of this in-season tournament or not?

Since it will be the first time to see such a format in the NBA season, we don't know what to expect.

However, from my point of view, since the in-season tournament requires consistent winning, we should expect early season games where teams will be serious right away and not take the game lightly different from what we see in the usual games in the early season.

If it's interesting or not overall, can only find it out later on. For me though, should be entertaining as "it's NBA".
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: August 15, 2023, 11:22:00 PM
In trading, no matter if it is spot or futures, as long as you are knowledgeable and have a proven strategy, you have a high percentage of winning your entries,

Can you support this statement for real? Even knowledgeable and professional traders are losing much today.

No one can withstand the volatile market and there's no such thing as a high percentage of winning in trading. Instead, I find it more appropriate to say that trading isn't only relying on luck to increase the chance of winning. However, the market is obviously not predictable therefore, proven strategies are only applicable to a given trend.

unlike in gambling, where you don't know why you lose even if your prediction seems right, like in sports betting, where you thought that the stronger team would win, but not all the time, so you've lost that time.

That's why it is called prediction. The same as how you predict the market movement in trading.

There are factors to consider at both and it doesn't mean that even if you analyzed it properly, your bet should always win.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 15, 2023, 10:55:18 PM
If I were in Tapales' shoes, I would choose to remain a champion and face challengers. Though I would receive a smaller amount of money than what I could potentially earn against Inoue, there's a chance that I would earn consistently. The thing is, if Tapales unifies with Inoue, the likelihood of losing is very high, and he might also lose his popularity eventually, making him unable to get fights anymore.

So it's a big risk. Let's say 'big risk = big rewards,' but he has to consider the other side.

Now depends if what will be Marlon Tapales' priority "for now", legacy or business.

Tapales is been vocal and since becoming a champion, even called out Naoya Inoue to fight him. But with the recent rumor that they might get a small paycheck, which is not reasonable for a champion, will that lead to changing his plan for long and skipping fighting Naoya Inouye for now? Until when? Does ducking Inoue, for now, to somehow increase his purse split will make everything smooth in return?

Anyways, does anyone know how much was being offered to Tapales camp?
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: August 15, 2023, 10:29:41 PM
when you consider the fact that most of these streamers, especially the ones that are sponsored oftentimes use demo accounts that automatically get massive wins and a credit that they can use to their heart's content. So far the only gambling/variety streamer that I feel is genuine is Trick2g, and he's not even that big on gambling. He only ever plays poker in the middle of League of Legends matches, he loses and all that, he plays still but at the end of the day he drives the point that gambling is only meant for entertainment.
Do you mean that the streamers use demo accounts while pretending to be using real accounts when gambling? Why would they need to do that though when the casino they are promoting can easily make their account have a lot of money that they can use for gambling on stream since they are promoting the casino they would always be ready to do that. You can barely find a streamer who would use their personal money to gamble on stream.

Imagine you are running a business and you hire someone to promote your business, will they spend their own money only to promote your business? No, they won't, they will ask you to spend the money that is needed for the promotion apart from the payment that they will take from you for their service.
Well, to drive the point that you can win in their games mostly. Most demo accounts also got their win rates jacked up so you'd experience a noticeable amount of wins in these types of accounts than in regular ones.

I believed streamers aren't using a demo account for their stream if I understand correctly what you are pointing out.

With lots of viewers, anyone can easily be determined that and it does not make sense to use demo accounts on a live stream as it will just lead to a backlash. Most streamers are using their real money if not partnered or affiliated with the site. That money is part of their budget on how to make their respective channel reach the required requirements for revenue purposes.

Even let's say streamers are shilling a gambling site they are streaming, they won't go far as using only a demo account for their stream. They are building a reputation as a gambler streamer and using a demo account without notice can lead to negative feedback.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 14, 2023, 11:58:41 PM

I'm an avid fan of MPBL and following the league since then.

It's really no doubt gaining popularity since their inception but guys, don't make it a big hype to the point that it might replace PBA. It won't happen, believe me, even if it will be backed by strong companies. The tickets here are being given free in most cases that's why we always see a jampacked crowd at every game. If there's a price, the ticket price is really cheap.

If MPBL games will be held in some big arenas like Smart Araneta or MOA Arena, etc. expect only a few live audiences and won't bother to spend money on purchasing tickets. And surely a worst to expect if we talk about having a game in PH Arena.  Cheesy

Soon over, when MPBL will almost reach the popularity of PBA, hitting revenues the same as PBA, the same politics we do see in PBA will also rise here especially since there are now big companies involved in the league. See what will happen next? The cycle will just repeat. Smiley

PBA still has lots of fans especially Ginebra fans that can fill big venues without a doubt. They just need to clean those sh*ts and open the possibility of expansion without being influenced by giant companies like San Miguel.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering - share your opinion on: August 14, 2023, 11:45:10 PM
Unlike if you dont just activate or simply ignore it then there's no such thing or target that you would be needing to caught up but rather simply with that deposit wagering which it isnt really just that hard to reach out which it is usually playing on x2 on your deposit
which needs to be wagered but for bonuses which this one is s peaking about 30-50x maximum depending on which casino you are dealing off with.

For those users who really don't understand how bonus terms work, they should just ignore those.

It's good that some sites are user-friendly with their respective interface on the deposit section and new users or newbies can easily check if the deposit are bounded with promotion or not. In that way, users can decide if they will push on a normal deposit or participate instead in a bonus.

Around 30x-50x turnover is already usual to see as a wagering requirement for a bonus.

But you know, in some cases, I don't mind dealing with a 30x-50x turnover if there's no maximum winning amount set.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: August 14, 2023, 11:35:16 PM
Profits made from gambling should be invested into a business that will give you profits when you're having badluck at gambling and with time you  reduced the resources you spend gambling and make gambling to be a fun and entertaining activity instead to make money.

It should be the most logical way to do to those big profits achieved in gambling but why it doesn't happen most of the time?

The reason is, that winning experience leads gamblers to think that if that big money can be won in gambling, why should they do a hassle business or investment? Instead of doing such a thing as planning and managing the business, they will instead do gambling and try to chase that winning experience again. That feeling of winning big amount is something gamblers will never forget that's why as much as possible they will pursue it no matter what.

That's the reality of gambling and it really happened to most gamblers.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 14, 2023, 11:25:04 PM
Moreover, dont get me started on progressive jackpot slots. Do you realize the astronomical odds of hitting that jackpot? "Feeling lucky" doesnt pay the bills! Sure, start with a small amount, but recognize that loss is inevitable in the long run. All slots arent bad? I'll give you that. But they aren't your golden ticket either!

Progressive slots won't be called "progressive slots" if in the first place, hitting the jackpot is just a piece of cake.

What is good about these kinds of slots is, the jackpot can be considered a big additional reward aside from the usual reward that players can get on that slots. That is something favorable to those players who is really a fan of that slot game disregarding that there's a jackpot waiting for the pop-out anytime soon.

Yes, don't expect that jackpot will hit easily on these progressive slots but the good thing is, it can be nailed possibly even with the lowest bet allowed.
140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: August 14, 2023, 11:15:46 PM
There are few factors that leads to unfavourable trading, these factors includes Greed, and chasing a trend, Traders are expected to encounter Challenges during trading and relating these challenges with people's experiences can be the key in solving the challenge,
Sticking to the trading plan is also good to avoid unfavourable trade as changing plans in the middle of a trade Can really lead to a loss in trade.

That is something usual to expect while doing trading. Not all the time that the wind is in our favor.

Well then, what matter here is, while having a tough road to getting a good run on trading, traders are building a good experience that can build a strong fundamental in their respective trading career. Just continue and someday, they should hit the goal.

However on the last statement, it might be true but sometimes we really need to shift gears providing how volatile the market is.
