1101  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy on BTC-E and Sell on MTGOX on: May 26, 2013, 03:29:17 AM
Did you wire to OK Pay from your bank account or MtGox?

Because if it's from your bank account then the loop isn't closed. My bank charge $15 to receive a wire. Or maybe it's possible to do MtGox --> OK Pay --> BTC-E directly?

Great experiment. Thanks for sharing.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is eBay policy on Bitcoin? on: May 26, 2013, 03:19:11 AM
Had a listing removed from eBay after mentioning that BTC was accepted.
1103  Economy / Economics / Re: If you are being paid interest on your money, why would you spend it? on: May 26, 2013, 02:16:49 AM
BTW interest rates were up to 15 or 18% 30 years ago, and fiat didn't fail then. Interest rates are 1-4% these days.

Uh, do you remember the circumstances under which that happened? Word-wide economic recession, IIRC.
High interest rate are typically a way for the central bank to slow down production/consumption and fight inflation.

Make inflation higher than interest rate.

It's a scam guys - look at the file name for the dude on the front page

http://www.re-asic.com/img/retard.jpg

Okay guys... I'd like to have SMART advices. Clearly the guy in the page isnt the admin, my god...

Its only a good image with a face. A lot of sites have very pretty girls on the home page, but I've never thought they were site's admins...

Ahahahhah lol, lol^2.

Everyone can name the images as he want to. lol
Most of things I save on my Desktop are like "aildfugasblujhkwdrtkw", for example. lol

Whatever it is, I don't understand why you named the picture of yourself like that..

And please, shot yourself in the knee if you think someone will think that you "found" that site, you're spamming it in all your posts.
Thanks for writing exactly what I think since I noticed this user.  Wink

1111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is selling on bitmit worth it? on: May 25, 2013, 05:55:45 AM
I'm selling PCI-E riser and prefer Bitmit to eBay. eBay unfortunately is better for traffic. Only tried fixed price.

Well, that sorta sucks. Looks like Liberty Reserve was shutdown today.

Costa Rican arrested in Spain for alleged financial crimes

Article seems a little iffy, but http://www.libertyreserve.com/ does appear to be down.

Sick news. Good for BTC.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I should react when S/B is requesting payment in BTC / LTc... on ebay? on: May 25, 2013, 05:03:58 AM
eBay removed one of my listing after I mentioned Bitcoin has a method of payment.

how exactly you announced that?

Was accepting PayPal payment plus wire and Bitcoin.

1115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why would anybody use CAVIRTEX? on: May 25, 2013, 01:16:58 AM
Cavirtex is reliable, stable and has good customer service. They haven't had problems with banks like some exchanges have. The fee is high, but I feel comfortable putting my money there.

Just for the record, LibertyBit was very responsive! They traced down the issue in a very short time, and even compensated me for the change in the exchange rate that I missed out as a result of the delay in depositing the funds.

Bottom line: I think LibertyBit provides a great service, and Cavirtex should substantially lower its fees if it wants to stay in business.

Look promising. Will try them for my next BTC purchasse.

The 3% fee at cavirtex is too high though compared to other exchanges.

Hi Digicoiner,

The fees we charge reflect the value of service we provide and the legal realities of keeping funds in Canadian banks with a Canadian corporation.

We operate our exchange with a team of dedicated full-time people. We also have a business plan that will add many more features to our exchange (you can view it in our prospectus: https://www.havelockinvestments.com/reportdownload.php?id=7).

On the legal and regulatory front, we are paying for legal advice on how to operate in Canada with the utmost safety to customer funds.

You will find that other smaller competing exchanges that offer low fees may not have a full-time team, a publicly-viewable business plan or any legal or regulatory efforts underway.

(Note: With enough trading volume you can reduce fees to 0.5%.)
Yeah right only needs to trade 332 500$ @ 133$/BTC
Easily done!

You guys are only a good option for small amount. Until you lower your fees I prefer to wire to other exchanges.
