141  Economy / Gambling / Re: [WARNING] Bustabit phising site! DON'T google "bustabit" !!! on: December 17, 2020, 09:30:13 PM
Do yourself a favour and install an adblocker. Google is getting pretty bad at this lately! Also, do not use google for your searches but go fro duckduckgo, startpage and other privacy centric search engines.

Why does ad-blocker have anything to do with phishing websites? Not like it's going to block your access to the phishing site. Being privacy-centric and scam free are two different things.

Shouldn't it be obvious to anyone looking to gamble there not to go to a site called "bastabit"? Seriously, you have to be really light-headed to miss that typo because you can even see it on your phone's top bar, it's not like they're using obfuscated punycode.
Why checks typos of the links before opening them? Especially when it comes as the very first search result on something as reputed as Google? Anyone can these mistakes and they're very easy to miss.

Also an adblocker will trivially solve this problem, you can even get Adblock Plus for Google Chrome and Safari on mobile last time I checked.
How? My Adbloker doesn't block any phishing websites. Is there any specific add blocked you use that stops users from accessing shady url's?
142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a few people. You have nothing to loose. on: December 16, 2020, 11:27:29 PM
There will be a remuneration in the end for the people im looking for.
What will be the remuneration in form of? No one believes in "in the end". If you want your thread to be taken seriously and expect people to take your questionnaire seriously then escrow whatever the remuneration.

The reason for that is that i need to remain anonymous so i dont want these questions circulating openly in thread.
I wonder how a bunch of questions will take away your anonymity? Are the questions based on your personal life or something?  Undecided
143  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Add Scam Websites - Contribute on: December 16, 2020, 11:22:54 PM
I'll give you a better idea. - You already have a database of the scam sites, so you can create a chrome extension that alerts the user if they visit any of the domains from your blaclist. This will be a very effective way of putting your scam list to use.

Like everyone else said, registering and voting seems stupid because what would you do then if the project is so community driven?
144  Economy / Gambling / Re: [WARNING] Bustabit phising site! DON'T google "bustabit" !!! on: December 16, 2020, 11:06:38 PM
Good catch. I wonder why Google still promote such obvious scams for a few dollars on their search results. It feels as if the internet's biggest search engine doesn't care about internet users encountering malicious websites advertised by them. I remember back in 2017, most exchanges have phishing sites wherein if you search their name on Google, it will return you a sponsored website with a few letters edited to imitate the original website. If Google really is against illegal activities, they should also filter ads application for their search results, and not accept applications immediately.
That's because most of their advertisement process is automated and so is handling the reports if you report that link. Anyone can buy any domain and buy ads from google. Unless someone reports that as a phishing link, they wouldn't care. However, a good antivirus application usually helps by blocking such links in your browser. You can also right-click on a small dropdown next to the ad and report it.
145  Economy / Reputation / Re: End of year awards on: December 16, 2020, 10:54:35 PM
I will possibly update this post later with the awards but you should add one more question which is believe is sort of mandatory for a technical forum like Bitcointalk. The question could be
 - Who is the tech junkie of the year?

^^ This category is for the member who is highly active and supportive in the technical discussions section and has in-depth knowledge about Bitcoins. Smiley

Do you know how this website is a scam? This -

Worldwide delivery available.

You can't deliver vehicles to any other country unless you're actually the owner of your own vehicle and want it to be transported to another country. Given that you'd pay the price almost as much as the cost of the new vehicle just for transportation and import taxes. Scam.
150  Other / New forum software / Re: [SUGGESTION] Epochtalk/Bitcointalk Mobile App UI on: December 04, 2020, 07:55:03 PM
Sorry if my feedback would sound a bit critical but being someone who closely works with UI designs, I have a few suggestions

- > The Layout isn't just very intuitive. In fact, it's confusing!
- > The Email icon on the right tells me if I click on that it would open my phone's email service.
- > The footer at the bottom is against the mobile UI design principles especially, if it's taking a good amount of space.
- > Profile seems to be a view one sees when they slide down their notification bar.
- > The information inside the profile box seems squashed and not aligned properly.
- > The Sr. Member info doesn't seem to be fitting very nicely there.
- > Overall, I think there is scope for improvement. Anyway, good initiative. Smiley

You dont need to be accountant to know how to be smart think logically and acting beneficial ways for yourself!
But you're an accountant so I assume you already can "smart think logically and acting beneficial ways" which means, you should know that you're not exactly the right guide for the newbies. What's your knowledge worth if you need to share it to make money?

Second... dont mix this topic with other topics.
I can, you're still the same person behind the other topic.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 04, 2020, 07:39:58 PM
How will bitcoin surpass the value of fiat money if the fiat money is what powers the bitcoin Huh and as far as the value of bitcoin is concern, I don't think it will go that heavenly high that there isn't much fiat to buy bitcoins, I mean supply and demand is the core of the price so if it isn't present the price will just stay. I can only say that the present state of bitcoin is the best it has got through years, that I think it'll be this way for more coming years. We'll be selling at $20K, then watch the dump, wait again til we see $20K and it continues for like 2 to 3 years.
Well, one bitcoin years ago was $40 and it's almost $20,000 now. Isn't that an example of how bitcoin is surpassing the value of fiat? You could afford to buy one bitcoin easily years ago, can you do now? Not many can. So clearly implies something has gotten expensive right? Bitcoin.

The pump and dump are vague words when using bitcoins. The stability of bitcoins over the years has only shown a rise so not like it will ever fall to $50 again and even if it does, I doubt it will climb back to $20,000 again.
153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 04, 2020, 07:34:18 PM
Domain names is - cryptoforum.org There is a word "forum" on domain name and logically if there is anything built on this website, it should be a forum. Even if we consider another case, it will be illogical for users when they see cryptoforum as a domain name and see absolutely different staff on website.
And how did you manage to come up with that logic? FYI, the forum just doesn't mean an online forum, if you look back at the definitions used by the Romans, it goes beyond your "online forum logic". People don't really care what the website domain is as long it has great content. With your logic, "Facebook" should be a website about book faces? Flawed.
154  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (summary) The loan defaulted of this year (2020) on: December 04, 2020, 07:29:23 PM
It's fairly easy for such scammers to pull out a loan scam here. They buy a high-level bitcointalk account, do some $50-$150 deals on the currency exchange thread and get that green positive feedback. Create two threads showing their love and affection to the forum and there you've them as a "Reputed Member". I'm surprised how easy it is to get positive Feedback these days. Someone literally didn't want to do a currency exchange with me because I didn't offer them positive feedback in return. I saw their profile a couple of months after, they have a green trust and also went from being a Newbie to Senior because of their currency exchange thread. Now if this person pulls out a scam I wouldn't be surprised at all.

So, you're an accountant too! Are you able to provide the tax implications that one might face in the USA?

im looking to rise quick capital like 5000-10 000 $ to work 3 months a row to take holiday.
I will never trust an accountant who doesn't have $5000 saved to take a vacation in a first world country like America. I'd be flipping burgers and still can afford to take that vacation. Newbies, the first thing you do before interacting with this dude is this

156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 03, 2020, 11:47:05 PM
Sorry if the topic sounds logically flawed I didn't dig much deeper into the financial fantasies of such.

I'm wondering what if one day Bitcoin goes so high up in value that it causes somewhat a fiat crisis? I mean imagine, you've Bitcoins but there isn't much cash available in the market to buy your BTC, or simply put people can't afford it? Will bitcoin be of any value then?
157  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Big Problem with Electrum Wallet on: December 03, 2020, 11:40:29 PM
I know what I'm doing.
Doesn't seem like it..

Not sure how helpful it is for you but have a look at this thread and how I got hacked off my Electrum wallet when I knew "I was doing everything right", I wasn't.

The address that you copy-paste on your website if seen on a block explorer, does it show the funds you received? Does it show any transactions at all?

Will be helpful if you link to those addresses and transactions.
158  Economy / Reputation / Re: MailJet is used by ledger hackers on: December 03, 2020, 11:35:21 PM

Ahh, so there is a problem! 6000 emails a month, 200 emails per day without a credit card! Offers a perfect opportunity for anyone looking to send spam emails without losing their identity. Also, multiply those numbers by 20 different accounts and one can create a massive spam farm. They have API's and stuff which would make automating this really easy. I wonder how does this company make money?  Roll Eyes
159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 03, 2020, 11:27:33 PM
Why is everyone disagreeing with the idea of having that domain? It is a very good domain to own and has so much potential of course unless they're not creating to create another Bitcointalk.

@OP: You can maybe have a forum that offers tutorials for someone new getting into cryptos? Maybe a blog or something of that sort? The market is quite saturated on all that stuff but a unique idea can really put that domain to use.
160  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [UniSwap Scams] Fake UniSwap Links/Apps/Giveaways/Mails to avoid! on: December 03, 2020, 11:23:23 PM
many people miss the fun of uniswap, this is what scammers use to lure people by creating fake events and websites. so we have to be really careful
Thanks for the link, I've updated the OP. As far as I know, the UniSwap airdrop or whatever they called it is over ages ago right? Maybe UniSwap should post it on their official website. Anyway, keep the reports coming. Smiley
