241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think about TheCoinsTechie, a supposed PC hardware store? on: November 17, 2020, 12:44:19 PM
It is a store that sells PC components for a good price, it seems well designed and the payment is exclusively in crypto.
"Good Price" and payment in crypto is exactly why I would avoid them. I'm pretty sure a genuine hardware store would have a location or a legit contact number. Here, you're limited to only support@thecoinstechie.com  for contact which is not reliable. The website is designed with WordPress. I did actually check their location mentioned on the site but couldn't find anything on the Map. Seems to me like a reselling business if legit at all.

I see it this way, if you're spending $500 on hardware, you might as well spend $550 and buy it from a legit shop.
242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should I use mixers? on: November 16, 2020, 11:57:26 PM
Could someone elaborate on how exchanges find out if the source of the coins coming in is through a mixer? Because of the popular mixers like ChipMixer etc? What if I have my own set-up to mix coins? Like I toss them around various sources, convert them to the original source without using any third party mixers, will the centralized exchanges still find out if they're mixed?

As far as the topic goes, if I've done KYC on a centralized exchange, mixing coins would hardly make a difference because a very big portion of my anonymity is already compromised.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPals Bitcoin is a scam on: November 16, 2020, 11:30:22 PM
--snip--
You brought up good points there dude. However, there is a huge market for PayPal and so does traders who would think it would become a platform to exchange cryptos to their PayPal and from there, to their Bank Accounts. This is how it will be perceived. I wouldn't call it a scam as someone who'd read their entire terms and conditions will know what the platform will offer. I'm eager to see the threads "Help! Got Scammed by PayPal" popping up in the scam accusation section.
244  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Unit Converter: Convert satoshi, mBTC,Finney, μBTC to 33 fiat currencies on: November 16, 2020, 09:34:21 PM
Found another bug. Well not really a bug but definitely can confuse users.

Steps to Reproduce:

- Open the Website
- Click on Select a fiat currency
- Select any currency and you'd see it doesn't get updated to that currency's value until you double click.

Basically, selecting a new fiat currency would change the current title but not update the value in the text box next to the dropdown until you click again.
245  Economy / Reputation / Re: Binfair.com legit or scam? on: November 16, 2020, 09:27:02 PM
All the technical information posted in the above comments aside, why their "About US" page has no content and it's literally blank?

https://binfair.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/360009682253-About-us

That is a big red flag for me. Companies want to be anonymous I get it but having the About Us section and not putting anything in there is shady. Also, their About-Us page has a different favicon. Moreover, their terms of service and other pages are also empty. I'd stay away from the site.
246  Economy / Currency exchange / Have BTC Want PAYPAL [$250] on: November 15, 2020, 05:48:49 PM
Need PayPal I have BTC. Not going to send first for accounts with 0 reputation.
247  Economy / Gambling / Re: Confucius System - AI & Big Data sports simulations. on: November 13, 2020, 08:58:43 PM
Interesting. What exactly you're looking for from the forum or this thread? It's great that you've figured out a way to generate that much of an ROI and I'm sure you wouldn't want to share it. Are you looking for more investments so you could share the profits? In that case, some trial runs in the thread would be appretiated.
248  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: betnomi.com SCAM - confiscated $ 3,000 from me and closed the account on: November 13, 2020, 06:54:13 PM
We are preparing an extensive response to this accusation but the bottom line is, This user created 4-6 different accounts on our website. Every time our risk management system flags his account and risk controls are implemented, he will immediately create another account and start all over again.
Regardless, the right solution should be giving his money back and then perma banning his account instead of holding on to the funds that belong to him which I believe are won in a fair way? Well, should wait for your extensive report and see what the user did get flagged on your system. In summary, this should end like

He Cheated the wins:- Freeze the account.

He won fairly: Ban his account and give the money back.

249  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am not cheating sir , please check it on: November 13, 2020, 06:44:54 PM
I don't tend to agree with you about multiple alts being frowned upon, because as far as I've seen it's not.  It's only when those alt accounts are cheating bounties/campaigns or are being farmed for sale that it becomes a problem and then becomes not only frowned upon but neg-worthy.
Yeah, you're right but why does one need to have like 10 accounts? Practically, impossible to post constructively from all of them throughout the week for signature campaigns which only leads to more spam on the forum.

As far as not trusting someone with more than 3 alt accounts, I guess it would depend on what they're doing with them.  Some of them might not even be active anymore.  Bruno had at least three alts, and Quickseller has who knows how many.  I didn't distrust Bruno because of his alts, and I don't distrust QS simply because he has (probably) more than three.  But hey, we're all different and you can set your standards however you like.  Smiley
Well that 3 is just a hypothetical figure haha See Gleb is sort of famous around and I do trust him so that's not a problem.
250  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal opening up app crypto users on: November 13, 2020, 05:59:18 PM
And with that comes this

Sauce : https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/jswpkn/never_thought_id_see_the_day/

Not sure if this decision is exactly going to do any good for bitcoiners. PayPal is already heavily abused by scammers and traders so adding a feature to a broken system is only going to make it worse. I hope I don't have to do KYC for small transactions now.
251  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AI for Trading on: November 13, 2020, 05:04:25 PM
I'm not saying there are no good AI for trading but if there is a good one, nobody will sell it or even tell about it.
Oh, they are not going to sell their AI solution but definitely use to promote their company with the tools. Big investment firms are already using some of the most sophisticated AI solutions for trading and their clients are benefitting from them too. The more investment they get, the more money they make. So if they get returns of about 20-25% they wouldn't mind sharing 5-7% with their clients. If you fancy what goes in such tools, check this open source project https://github.com/QuantConnect/Lean
252  Other / Meta / Re: Can i do this to get affiliates? on: November 13, 2020, 04:54:57 PM
I think you should be okay to do that as long as the link is not a Ponzi or an obvious scam or something that is shady. Members usually promote their own services in that space so you'd be alright too. However, a couple of signature campaigns that I've come across don't allow putting affiliate links in either signature or personal text so might want to confirm that from your campaign manager.

Having said that, your ad should not be like a welcome bonus 30% sounds great and then the minimum deposit is 1 BTC which I believe is a catch so that should also be there is that text somewhere?
253  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am not cheating sir , please check it on: November 13, 2020, 04:47:59 PM
But as long as you not cheating in any bounty, you are free to use a lot of accounts.
I disagree there. There are no official rules regarding that but it's frowned up on by the community. It makes sense to have a couple of accounts or cases like different accounts for mobile and web logins etc but having a "lot of accounts" is just classified as account farming and potentially cheating. I'd never trust someone with more than 3 accounts. Also, those alt accounts are usually known to other members either privately or publicly.
254  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] We've created an awesome iOS wallet with user ratings. Help find bugs! on: November 12, 2020, 11:50:35 PM
Do you have any set of guidelines on what sort of bugs get what awards? I don't want to be spending 10 hours on your app to find a serious bug and get like $2 as a reward. Neither want you to come up with an excuse like "Oh we already found that bug out thanks for reporting". This is very easy and trivial with such testing methods.

I'd like to test the app or report bugs if there are decent rewards for me.
255  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogensports SCAM stolen my 0.168 btc on: November 12, 2020, 11:46:34 PM
i deposited 0.1 btc, and played up to 0.16 btc playing blackjack 2 hours ago.
i made a withdrawal.
then 1 hour later its cancelled, with ticket saying my email address was wrong so its been placed on hold - change your email, email us and resubmit withdrawal
Was your email address wrong at this point?

guy there, the admin with name K something, said my email i sent from was different than on my profile, like wtf no it isnt?
That's ridiculous! Since when profile emails become a valid source of verifying information? I wonder if one loses access to their email? NitrogenSports will hold their funds forever? How scummy.

Unless you're not telling the other side of the story, the whole thing sounds stupid to me and you should post a link to their  official thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=56.40
256  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AI for Trading on: November 12, 2020, 11:35:40 PM
even if we don't understand the higher concepts such as consciousness.
Oh, we do if you're into reading works of CG.Yung and maybe trip on DMT  Tongue

@OP: You've mentioned the term "AI" throughout your post but I'm yet to find out more information related to it on your website. I mean being someone who works in AI and ML, I'd definitely want to know how your AI works and how's it's going to benefit as an investor. Just saying "Our AI Tool" doesn't make it sound any legit. Have you published any papers of your own? Do you use open source solutions like RASA/Open AI etc?
257  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Diginomics Corporation - probable scam on: November 12, 2020, 11:19:27 PM
I'd be Interested to hear OP's comments on my following questions

The Bitcoin Chip is a full blockchain node running on a mobile SIM card which allows the user to store, receive, and authorize bitcoin payments.
Running a full node requires a good amount of storage whereas SIM cards provide only up to a few kb's (128 max I reckon). Are they going to invent their own SIM cards? Which potentially means the network connectivity would require their own telecommunication tower?  Shocked

Simply put, how are they planning to get internet for their network when their SIM cards are nothing like ever done before?

The private key of the user is stored on this mobile storage device while allowing secure network connectivity through IPv6 communication protocol enabled by a hard fork of the original bitcoin ledger. This new, forked chain allows the user to not only communicate through a secure IPv6 protocol (not connected to the www “World Wide Web”) but acts through a virtual private network.
Don't think they understand one doesn't need the World Wide Web for secure communications...Anyway, what would be a definition of a transaction on this "virtual private network"?
258  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my reply deleted? on: November 12, 2020, 11:13:51 PM
except that I quoted a 5-month-old reply.

Umm, that sort of sounds the reason why it got deleted. Your post is on-topic and all but certainly doesn't bring in any constructive content that would be reasonable to quote a 5 months old reply. This is what signature spammers do when they want to write something which they think would come off as constructive but doesn't actually add any constructive content to the thread.
259  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can anyone please help me with a PHP script? on: November 12, 2020, 02:06:49 AM
I am looking for a standalone PHP script with no external dependency, so that I can comfortably run it on any shared hosting platform with basic PHP support.
I'd say, it would be much cheaper (if you're planning to pay for this) to just figure out the ways to use Composer or other FTP ways to manage the dependency instead of hiring someone who would potentially re-write the dependency modules if any. I'm not sure how complicated the implementation would be but if there are multiples modules, you are looking to re-invent the wheel. Also, if those modules mentioned above are open source, fork them and use it in your project?
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Try to track stolen bitcoins on: November 11, 2020, 11:49:56 PM
As @AdolfinWolf said, the coins seem to have stuck in Binance and there is nothing you can do about it unless you report your case to the police, and get an official letter from them which can be submitted to the Binance support to hold the funds. Better yet, ask the police team to get in touch with the Binance support.

On a side note, if you caught one of them, it shouldn't be that hard to find his partner especially when police are doing the interrogations.
