481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hospital That Treats Bitcoin Gambling Addicts? on: June 26, 2019, 04:13:09 PM
There is a hospital in Scottish that treats people that are bitcoin addicts or some who are addicted to bitcoin gambling.

Crypto trading or bitcoin gambling can be considered is a classification of behavioral addiction, with investors are always checking the coin graph and those who keep betting until they get bitcoins. If you knew yourself is being addicted to gambling, it's time to go to this hospital.
I'll consider that as fake news unless you've some sources linked. Scotland suffers from drug addiction on a large scale and they need to combat that first before fighting the gambling addicts. Gambling addicts don't use needles or spread HIV around.

482  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Widget desktop with Ticker Bitcoin always on top window? What you recommend? on: June 26, 2019, 04:08:14 PM
That is actually very cool. However, it is risky for applications like this to modify your default touch-bar settings. The GitHub repo posted is not by the original author and I wouldn't trust downloading random extensions like this. You never know what happens in the background.
483  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PryptoMontreal Sr. Member is scammer on: June 26, 2019, 03:49:07 PM
he scammed me too..i will post shortly
Please post proper proofs and create a flag against the user so DT members can support it. Reading the information posted above, I can't jump to conclusions just yet but based on your proofs I'll leave them a negative rating if desired.
484  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for legendary account on: June 26, 2019, 03:45:37 PM
I checked the website and tried to find info on the team members. Noticed most names aren't listed on Linkedn and the OP said the team is new. The media links don't work too. Hence, I deleted the content of the ANN and locked the thread and also sent the user a refund.
LOL Thanks for wasting your time. You could have just taken my post seriously and avoided the hassle.

Do your worst. Why don't you open now? Smiley I care for the law not few virtual flags that you are threatening me with. When bitcoins gets banned in India, I'll be the first to stop dealing in it unlike you.

Since the years you've been stalking me and abusing me, I understand what you are capable of.  Wink
I'll certainly open one if you keep supporting scam and shady activities. This forum is private and has some "rules and community guidelines" that you should be adhered to. You're always the one ready to do scummy activities for a few pennies and I've noticed this a few times. Which part of my post is "abusing" you?  Also, what do I've to do with what happens to Bitcoins in India?  Undecided Did you just assume I'm based in India? Good Good.
485  Economy / Gambling / Re: Spirebets.com BETA | Cryptocurrency Football Bets on: June 26, 2019, 02:18:47 PM
Why would you launch a website when it is in beta testing? If a user comes across a bug or loses his money, your website will get a bad reputation and people will avoid it. You just support football games which limit your market to an only a specific audience.
486  Other / Meta / Re: 4 Pages of Bounty Mega Spam on: June 26, 2019, 02:10:23 PM
Just hit that 'Report to Moderator' button and he'll be handled. Also, can some bounty hunter please explain what the fuck does Proof of Authentication mean? Is that a new type of consensus algorithm created by bounty hunters?  Shocked
You used to be a manager yourself sometime ago. How come you don't know what Proof of Authentication means?  ;
I never used it? The only way I checked for duplicate accounts is by using the addresses, social media accounts, and other details. I don't know writing this helps in checking for duplicate accounts?

#Proof of Authentication
Bitcointalk username: Bitkoyns
Bitcointalk profile URL: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=921760
Your telegram username: @Bitkoyns

Proof of authentification is something managers do to make sure users in the bounty are actual owners of bitcointalk accounts as well. Keeps users from enrolling 6000000000
fake accounts into the bounty and multiaccounting.
Let's say a user actually creates 10 different accounts and posts the same message in the same bounty thread, how'd one know if those accounts are linked? Assuming they have different throwaway telegram accounts.
487  Other / Meta / Re: Typical Spammerisms on: June 25, 2019, 11:21:36 PM
Back when the forum was at its height, and I was reporting thousands of posts every other day,
Really? Just curious what your total report stats are like.. Reporting thousands of posts every other day must be very time-consuming.

Seeing the same garbage over, and over I honestly thought I might be losing it a little. Luckily for us the spam isn't quite as bad as back then, although still a nuisance.
Admins should start locking threads which don't serve any purpose. They can start with the gambling section so the topic created with the title "What is your favorite gambling site" in 2013 can stop spammers from posting.
488  Other / Meta / Re: 4 Pages of Bounty Mega Spam on: June 25, 2019, 11:12:56 PM
Upon searching for a good altcoin bounty, i stumbled upon this user who post nothing but "Proof of Authentication" in the last 4 pages of his history.

I can't post image and i don't know how to archive post but here is the profile link.

489  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com scam - lost funds on: June 25, 2019, 11:06:14 PM
Am I the only one who still doesn't understand how exactly OP lost bitcoins? Regardless, you're taking a great step to sue them in their home country. My only concern with them at the moment will be a terrible website and crappy developers who can't calculate bitcoin's network fee. Sue them too.
490  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How I got hacked by Electrum Official Wallet [0.10 BTC] on: June 25, 2019, 10:31:31 PM
Yup, downloaded the fake Electrum. Thanks for the advice
Sorry for your loss chap.

It is sad to hear about Joel's loss. I am completely shattered to see how many people would have lost their significant savings because of this malware as the receiving address has total received more than 250+ BTC  https://m.btc.com/bc1qcla39fm0q8ka8th8ttpq0yxla30r430m4hgu3x
Fuckin hell! I don't know if he's ever going to stop getting them. He's pretty much sorted out for rest of his life. Why doesn't Electrum highlights this issue on their website and kinda promotes the use of the official wallet and not the hacked one. Always one thing to remember, in the crypto-world, don't even trust your dog.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos can use AI to get additional edge? on: June 25, 2019, 10:26:26 PM
Gambling is all about random number generation, and provably fair scheme provides guarantees that casino doesn't cheat, but we also know that humans are horrible random number generators - we are very easily predictable.
Not really. The gambling websites don't use the traditional random number generators. Even computers or programming languages fail at that.

So, theoretically a casino can observe how you place your bets, then predict your next bets and make their own bets (they always go first) accordingly. The flaw here is if this algorithm is implemented too naively, it can be abused by players by making big amounts of predictable low-value bets, and then making a big opposite bet.
They can predict how I bet but can they predict what's the next winning number is going to be? I think not. If any gambling site manages to do that, people would stop playing there.
492  Economy / Reputation / Re: DireWolfM14's Trust Setting and Tag Review on: June 25, 2019, 10:14:21 PM
The reason I'm creating this thread right now is because I just left a negative rating for member Csmiami due to his handling of this situation.  I had originally left him a neutral review, but after consideration I decided a negative review is warranted.
I'd stand by your feedback. I don't really like how the entire situation was handled. I don't know if OP of that thread had any intentions of scamming or is just plain stupid but the experienced members of bitcointalk should not be playing with someone's money even if it means punishing them. CSMaimai's intentions to keep the money for 2 days is just hilarious. At one point Op actually gave up on his 0.003 which I assume wouldn't have been returned if not for you and DarkStar.

It's a silly mistake though. Maybe you should watch them for a few weeks and then change the feedback? I'd be more open to having the feedback removed right now if CSMiami accepts their mistake.
493  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for legendary account on: June 25, 2019, 10:01:37 PM
I have already mentioned in the posted in the ANN the disclaimer that I am not a member of the project and users need to do their own due diligence before making any purchase/investment.
Wow, that'd be so much helpful. Very good.

If there is any scam accusation related to the project, I will lock the thread and refund the OP till further investigation.
Yeah but by that time some people would have already got scammed due to your ANN thread and you'd have already made your pennies. If anyone gets scammed by that thread, I'll be the first one to create a flag against you.

To others accusing me: Till today I've never seen any bounty manager taking responsibility for a project they manage turning scam and many reputed managers have managed such bounties. And it's also the same with signature campaigns wherein we have seen bitblender and another mixer turning scam but the managers haven't been blamed for it. And as I've said, I'm just posting the ANN and am not recommending anyone to invest or purchase.
It's not the same thing. Why can't OP purchase his own thread by getting a copper membership? Why does he insist on having a legendary account? Did you ask him that? No. On one end we've members giving time to make this forum scam free and on the other end, we have members like you who'd go heights for a few pennies.

Just buy a copper membership
You were not too quick in deleting your previous comment. Maybe create a separate thread and I'll respond to you.
494  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for legendary account on: June 25, 2019, 05:44:16 PM
I can post the ANN. Send me the details. My telegram account is erikalui.
Are you out of your mind? Will you take the responsibility for misleading newbies if the project turns out to be a scam? You know what the perception is right? "ANN is created by a legendary member so it must be very genuine project and safe to invest or participate in the bounty". I feel ashamed if legendary members like you are okay with promoting such scam ICO's just for the heck of few pennies.

495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: mo_onster is trying to phish clueless noobs into typing their seeds on his site on: June 24, 2019, 11:47:40 PM
The best way to hurt these scammers is to spam the website with garbage information. If I had too much time on my hands, I'd probably use a fake 12 random words generator and then automate sending 10000+ requests per minute through their input box.

I checked for the possible inside information but seems like he has bought the website with Google-Analytics and everything integrated. The developer is someone else I guess..
496  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 500+ Restaurants, Supermarkets, Bars, Shops and Hotels accepting BTC on: June 24, 2019, 11:31:25 PM
Did you check out your competitors? https://bitcoinwide.com/ Wink

I like you've taken the open-source road. If I had to fork your project, I'd certainly add a search bar to search for shops either by location or items. Also, the map looks pixelated on my screen. Use 60+ fps if available for zoom-in map displays.
497  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinWide - search platform for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency on: June 24, 2019, 11:01:22 PM
I found some bugs :
 - Search for a specific item like Pizza and once the results are displayed after the shadow loaders, press the <- back button on top of the search-bar, you will see that it doesn't really go back but keeps re-loading the same page and gets stuck in the same loop. For my surprise, even the back button of the browser doesn't take me to the main page.

I could find more haha it's a small bug but aesthetics are important.  Tongue
498  Economy / Lending / Re: need 0.25 btc on: June 24, 2019, 10:50:32 PM
HORIZON you did not find me with your mother to ask me move on
We have a badass here, do we? You can start by giving free betting tips for say 20 football matches and we'll see if your winning prediction probability matches 75%. If it turns out to be true, I'm sure people would be interested in working with you.

For now, all you have is statements without proofs and a terrible attitude towards the members of this forum.
499  Other / Meta / Re: [ALTS] What is the procedure for registering alts? on: June 24, 2019, 10:31:30 PM
You don't have to but it will be a solid proof that you actually control the account:- Sign a message from one of the oldest staked address from the Jet_Cash account and either publicly post it for verification or ask a DT member to verify it. After they verify your signed message, they can leave a neutral trust to confirm that alt account is in your control.
500  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Flag] Lutpin - Known Alt Donation funds. on: June 24, 2019, 06:42:54 PM
Perhaps donators and other contributors from mexxer's thread can say a word or two, me, as contributor to threads started by lauda and timelord don't agree with this. I don't feel like I should get part of donations for thread I have never ever contributed.
I was one of the top contributors in the old thread. If you check the 'Level of awesomeness', I'm at rank 3 after Lutpin & Timelord. To start with, I don't support this Flag, neither it is an appropriate flag type as far as TL's issues are concerned. Lutpin isn't the type of member who'd argue over holding 0.017975 BTC. The entire point of creating the Known Alt.. thread was to contribute constructively to the forum and of course, find alt accounts. Donations were introduced later and IIRC, I got paid once. No one did it just for the heck of donations. As long as the funds are concerned, I don't really believe in dragging conversations over a few pennies especially when a reputed member like Lutpin is involved.

@TL: I understand you want those funds to be distributed to the contributors (including yourself) but taking the amount and the people involved into consideration, I'd say keep the thread for an open-ended conversation without an accusation.

Question is, how these funds should be shared? Equally to every contributor or shares based on contribution? I can't find this in mexxer's thread.
'Level of awesomeness' was the measure introduced by Mexx so that will be it I guess...
