1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Always KYC (Know Your Customer) Why NOT KYO(Know Your Owner) on: May 22, 2018, 08:47:07 PM
Ah, I'm beginning to understand a bit of the background and context now but yeah, this really unfair practice should be stamped out.
They will be, if players start to abandon casinos that impose such horrible polices.

It's very similar to many previously unregulated exchanges who did the same thing. Using every excuse in the book to withold a withdrawal. Like I said, there are some valid justifications but asking for verification documents is seldom ever necessary had correct security implementations been in place earlier - not to mention that they'd happily take your funds without first doing that verification. Shady at best, unethical and wrong at worst.
My point! Either impose polices as soon as the account is created or don't impose them at all.

Dread to think about what all that data could be exposed to just lying around in someone's computer.
Exposing such confidential data does need you to be a authorised service provider which most of the gambling sites aren't. Hence, they shouldn't be trusted with KYC documents either.
1042  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help needed: Signature Campaign Budget on: May 22, 2018, 07:16:46 PM
The links that provided currently live projects are very helpful. I think I will surely use them when creating a campaign. The only thing is I want to thoroughly understand how all works here.
What would be your recommendation for a company promotion? I came here to promote my company but found that there is so much interesting happening, so that I need to go much deeper and find threads where I will learn and I will be able to share my knowledge.
There are two ways to go to promote your services here
1.Forum's advertisement section  -> Effective and expensive to implement.
2.Signature Campaign -> Can be Effective if executed properly and the budget varies.

There is nothing more to learn. You get what you pay for.The rule of thumb is - Always know your target audience before opting for a marketing plan.
1043  Other / New forum software / Re: Do we need email to access new forum? on: May 21, 2018, 09:26:34 PM
I read somewhere that in order to use new forum, users are required to update their email and it should be functional.Does it means new forum will have feature to login via email?
Can we test the new forum if we update our email?
How do you think the current forum works  ?  On the contrary, I would love to see the new forum to have a feature where people can singup without an email address by forum automatically assigning them an unique identifier per IP per account. The advantage would be, people would not be able to create multiple accounts from the same IP.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: vitaliklotto: The power of the pyramids meets the power of vitalik on: May 21, 2018, 09:21:54 PM
You have straightaway used his name and started a sort of gambling stuff with it.Don't you think you'd need his permission to do that ? If you were really serious about the project, you'd have mentioned your contact details or cared to design the website properly.Setting up a website over-night with broken routes doesn't appeal anyone to entrust you with their money.

I might just share your website on Vitalk's Twitter to see his reaction.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Always KYC (Know Your Customer) Why NOT KYO(Know Your Owner) on: May 21, 2018, 09:14:35 PM
Guys why should only users have to provide identity why not the OWNERS who up and run them??? (are they gods?)

This is especially for the casinos which demands for user KYC documents.

Its time to make things even. kiddo edwardoo are you lurking??

I don't really want to comment on your incident with PrimeDice but generally I hate Gambling sites asking for KYC documents when they're operating on fake licences.Should they really wish to impose KYC polices on their players, they should do so while players creates an account or makes his first deposit.

Bringing KYC as a formality to delay or investigate wins/withdrawals is a pathetic attempt to disappoint customers.Be a responsible gambler and check if the terms and conditions beforehand.
1046  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help needed: Signature Campaign Budget on: May 21, 2018, 08:39:17 PM
Can someone help me understand how much budget should a company invest in such a campaign?
Or what are the minimum payoffs for signature campaign participants? Are there any guidelines?

Thanks,
Magnus
It depends on the type of service you're trying to promote. If your project is an ICO/Alt-coin related stuff, you will preferably pay with the tokens unless you want that extra layer of marketing and have enough budget to run a bitcoin paid signature campaign. If your project is a bitcoin related service, it totally makes sense to start a campaign which pays in bitcoin.Your budget determines the type of campaigners you will have in your campaign. Most of the good posters, high quality accounts will not carry your signature for a few satoshi's.Depending on your budget, you can determine the type of accounts you'd like to get enrolled in your campaign.

The minimum/maximum payouts are again subjective but good campaigns pay at the most 0.02 BTC per week for Hero/Legendary accounts. The ideal way to go would be, hire a good campaign manager and he will sort you out.
1047  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will Bitcoin be used easily in real world purchases soon? on: May 21, 2018, 08:34:10 PM
I hope so! Is there any technology that exists right now that I'm not aware of that allows for goods & services to be purchased or sold online or in person the way we use Venmo or Paypal?
Right now ? Bitcoin sold more goods & services a few years back  on the dark-web then it is doing on the service web at the moment. If you find the right resources, you can buy whatever you want with bitcoins.VPS's servers, laptops, other digital goods which are sold for bitcoins on a much larger scale.Like I said, you need to find a trusted service.
1048  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by NastyBoy on: May 21, 2018, 08:25:18 PM
Are there any evidences of you sending him the paypal money or you both indulged in a conversation were this deal took place ? Please upload relevant proofs/screenshots to add  seriousness to your accusation.

1049  Other / Meta / Re: For Moderators: My thread updates were deleted. Kindly let me know the reason. on: May 21, 2018, 08:12:47 PM
I update my threads on the Indian altcoin forum twice a week and I noticed my earlier updates have been deleted by the bitcointalk moderator. I don't get the reason as the are not bumps but updates and plus the time gap between the updates is 4 days and not even 24 hours. The Indian forum has no admin and hence I don't know whom to contact. Is it the new rule now to update threads only once and delete earlier updates? Kindly let me know.
If your thread doesn't get any replies from someone that isn't you,it just comes off as spamming to a certain extent.Provided, you keep 'updating' it in regular intervals.I'm also curious who is handling reports for the Indian board. My assumptions however, tell me it must be hilariousandco.

Please only expecting moderator's reply.
You don't open a public thread which is not self-moderated and expect other members to not reply.More like, coach you on the rules.
1050  Economy / Reputation / Re: High rank Connected account with strong proof. Cheating on Indahash bounty camp on: May 21, 2018, 08:04:20 PM
If high rank account cheating with bounty then what will do newbie ? This kind of cheater should be ban from bitcointalk.
- Ranks don't hold any value on bitcointalk since accounts with even high trust are sold all over the place. To my conclusions, the said account owners are also "newbies" just like you who ought to make money out of bounty whoring.

- He won't be banned from bitcointalk as cheating campaigns is not against the rules. Will get him a negative feedback from the DT for sure.
1051  Other / Meta / Re: Indian Sub New Moderator ? [Recommendations Welcome] on: May 16, 2018, 06:02:08 AM
I will recommend deadley or skang if they are still active.
Recommendations, if not followed by supporting points to prove they're a good fit are less likely to be considerable. As far as I'm aware, I haven't seen any of those members posting actively or never came across any threads which are inclined towards the 'well-being' of the forum.

Like I previously mentioned, we need someone who is active and know the existing issues forum suffers from. But that's just me.
1052  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone to proof-read Statement Of Purpose and Beautify it on: May 13, 2018, 09:30:21 PM
I'll do it for $100. Delivery time would be around 48 hours (ideally) however as I have other work I need to complete.

I've completed multiple scientific degrees at prestigious universities here in the UK, this is something I can do well.
Ahh sorry mate I need to get this done within 8 hours max.I'm totally fine with paying you 100 bucks but time is a big constrain for me.As of my I'm running short of options so I might just end up buying one of those online services using a credit card which I hate the most.
1053  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone to proof-read Statement Of Purpose and Beautify it on: May 13, 2018, 08:20:54 PM
I can do it. Let me know what you can offer as payment,

OP, this user has a history of not honouring the deals they make.  Please review their trust before sending any monies.
Obviously mate.Trust history speaks for itself.I would even consider it if they had some trusted feedback for any writing work they had done.

How much are you looking to pay for this service, and how many words is the document?
If you want this done right, I'll be here.
I don't know how much I'm suppose to pay.I tried a few online services where the estimated cost of getting this done by the Phd holders or experts is anywhere between 50-200 usd for thousand words (2 pages) document and with a delivery time of 5-8 hours.
1054  Economy / Services / Need someone to proof-read Statement Of Purpose and Beautify it on: May 13, 2018, 04:34:34 PM
Hi,I'm looking for someone experienced who is great at proof-reading, editing & beautifying a Statement of purpose for a University Application.Basically, you will get a SOP which has the content, it just lacks the sentence structure, use of sophisticated vocabulary and professional level editing. If you're someone who does it often, you will have an idea about the process. Please note,I don't encourage plagiarism or using free online tools to do the same.Only apply if you're good at it.

Also don't give me directions to use upwork or other freelancing sites because I will choose to pay a bitcoin freelancer over them.I can pay in Bitcoins as per your requirements.
1055  Economy / Gambling / Re: Have some questions about gambling licenses / incorporation 🎲 🎲 🎲 🎲 on: May 08, 2018, 09:15:08 PM
Great to see that, KYC itself seems shady because not everyone wants to reveal their personal information, I guess I shouldn't have a lot of problems if I launch without a license as long as the withdrawal ratings are good
Provided you do comply with the common terms like "Players from the United States are not allowed to gamble on our website".If a player hailing from the States, due to any unforeseen circumstances files a complaint against your Casino you might end up in trouble. That gives FBI the reasons to investigate into your private policies and being not affiliated with any licenses is like a loophole they will take the advantage of.
1056  Economy / Reputation / Re: Daneel bounty manager cheating in his own bounty on: May 08, 2018, 07:01:18 PM
Personally I believe participating in a bounty campaign you manage is a conflict of interest. You're already being paid to do the work, so there's no reason for you to chase tokens as well and open yourself up to bending rules to make sure you qualify for the bounty pay as well. It's called "double dipping"
Not necessarily. Most of the good bounty managers are paid in ETH/BTC and not the tokens for the bounty. Should they wish to participate in the bounties, they should be applying through the same rules as created for the other participants. For instance, if the campaign manager wishes to write a good blog post for some tokens,he should be allowed to do that provided he should judge his stuff rationally which is not the case here.
1057  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin & Altcoins Live Price Image generator on: May 07, 2018, 07:18:26 PM
This is really cool! I just tried my first image generation at http://35.226.164.123/image.php?coin=bitcoin&amount=123.So if you don't mind revealing your secret stash, how did you make it ? Does the image transformations happen on the fly or you fetch them from a server?
Either way,I'm happy to see such projects in this board.

It's probably pretty simple.

Just fetch the Bitcoin price from an API (i.e CoinMarketCap) and calculate how much the amount is worth, then create an image with this method1] or similar.

[1] http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagettftext.php
Ahh..I see! Never been a fan of PHP but this does sound extremely simple. So the 3rd party package is where all the magic happens. Great! Also I don't see the data being fetched from the server which actually confused me. Usually, my console or my terminal records all the API calls but when I opened the URL with the given params,I didn't see any network calls happening so I was a doubtful if it's happening on the fly. Thanks for the clarification.
1058  Other / Meta / Re: Joel_Jantsen's Merit Distribution Thread (Newbies Welcome) on: May 07, 2018, 07:12:45 PM
If that's the case he should announce it but I would still leave the thread open as there are many people lurking around and sending merits to users posting here.
Or have somebody else with enough merit take over....
I have a few sendable merits but been really busy a past couple of weeks to go through all the reports posted here and verify them to be merit eligible. Usually,I don't merit instantly but I do go through all of the posts on the weekend and merit them all at once. If a member didn't get a merit, that simply means they would have missed out something or their reports wouldn't hold much weight. Anyway, the reason I'm not locking the thread is because I know someone who genuinely supports the cause will give merits in my absence. On a side note,I have merited all the eligible reports right now.

1060  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Spreadsheet:--All Scammers listed here, Reply for add more scammers in sheet. on: May 07, 2018, 06:44:02 PM
- The tokens you sent him,are they tradable at any exchanges now ? Were they tradable at the time you sent them ? Literally, this sounds to me like you're giving him something which doesn't hold any value at the given time.I don't even know how did he agreed on the price of the tokens as $600 when they haven't even hit an exchange yet.

-  At this point, I don't see this as a scam involving potential loss but more like a scam which is to happen in the near future if your coins ever hit an exchange.
