Economy / Reputation / Coin-Secure Exchange Hack - Tracking & Discussions
|
on: April 16, 2018, 06:30:37 AM
|
Website : https://coinsecure.in/ [For Updates About the Hack] As most of you might be aware,on 9th April 2018 Coinsecure, an Indian exchange got hacked of 438 bitcoins. There are various discussions on-going in the company about the hacker and as per the statement made by them, their prime suspect is the CSO of the company : Dr. Amitabh Saxena. There is also a bounty of 10% to the community for the recovery of bitcoins. (Honestly,I don't think one has to take the bounty part seriously because we know how fucked up such services are when it comes to bounties/bug-bounties unless of-course if they choose to escrow 10% of the amount) I decided to track the bitcoins and hopefully some of you geniuses out there are much better at it than me and I hope you'd find something interesting. Note :- I'm not affiliated to coinsecure or any their employees by any means.
Main address where the bitcoins were moved after the hack : https://blockchain.info/address/1BaEJquitskdXcTj53Uy6PuUtJ5a8ETWpA [438 BTC] [Final Balance: 49 BTC] ( 1BaEJquitskdXcTj53Uy6PuUtJ5a8ETWpA) From here,Bitcoins are moved to various addresses including a BitcoinMixer. This transaction especially : https://blockchain.info/tx/2e901e2455e38a250504528af5f7e3ccb2a6626a6fa74e5d434c63cedb0966d0 where BTC sent to address : 17dJcMi2JdVGwNLARmujmqbvAvns6yGgXb which is part of this wallet : BitcoinFog (Tor Based Bitcoin Tumblr)

The Indian sub mostly. Not much point in making someone a moderator of a sub board if they haven't shown that they're actively patrolling that section and are willing to put in the work to make it a better place.
Do you have the access to get that Sub-wise report stats just like theymos posted here ? Or only Admins can do it ? Maybe those stats would be a nice entry point to sort from the bunch.

I can't comment on the situation as to why Benson was removed, but he hasn't been active as a moderator here for quite a while and I suggested to theymos prior to this that the Indian board needed additional moderation. I would only take into consideration users who have been actively reporting though.
Actively reporting as in ? Actively reporting generally in the forum or just in the Indian Sub ?

I do think that the removal of Benson as a moderator would be temporary (until the exchange hack gets sorted out). If Coinsecure is repaying everybody with their own funds, then it gets sorted out.
Don't recollect theymos removing someone from the Staff position and hiring them back. If the Indian board does not get too many reports and Benson's absence is expected to be temporary, we can wait for a couple of weeks before we decide whether a new moderator is necessary.
Nothing against Benson but Indian board does need a strong moderation. I've tried reporting threads in that SUB but takes forever for the reports to get handled. You may be right about waiting for two weeks but again it depends if theymos have removed them temporarily otherwise it wouldn't make a difference.

Other / Meta / Indian Sub New Moderator ? [Recommendations Welcome]
|
on: April 14, 2018, 11:30:55 AM

With the on-going discussions about Coinsecure's hack [An Indian exchange founded by Benson Samuel (Moderator of Indian Sub )],theymos stated Note that I removed Benson Samuel as moderator, but only because I view the situation as potentially too much of a conflict of interest. I have no reason to doubt Benson Samuel's character.
{I do agree with theymos for a fact that Benson has nothing to do with the hack} Anyway,it's time to find a new moderator for the Indian Sub I suppose. Not sure if theymos will consider the suggestions posted here but if you had to recommend someone to moderate the Indian sub,who it would be ? (Preferably an Indian of-course) EDIT : This thread is for general recommendations and I'm not self promoting by any means. Additionally, I'm not interested in becoming a moderator since it's a job which requires time and quite an amount of effort which I can't commit to.

This is interesting.I wish there was more description written about the co-ordinates one can select to check the nodes. The graphs however are insanely slow on older browsers which is a bummer.OP did you find a relevant article which briefly describes how to study the 3d mappings ?

How can that stuff be decentralised when you guys will be the one processing the withdrawals and everything else ? - Is the code open-source ? NO - Is the platform transparent ? NO - Will you have KYC for very high withdrawals ? YES - Do you have a customer support ? YES
How does this make your platform decentralised or anonymous ?

You're a Sesus === Seo Jesus.Rename yourself with better keywords man.My question to you is,how well acquainted are you with Server Side Rendered Applications ? What SEO techniques can you offer for a single page application which is rendered on the server ?
You may choose to ignore my question because I'm not paying you $10 bucks.Just want to make sure you know what's what.

Writing lengthy posts without any substantial content is there since the dawn of signature campaigns.Often, such posts are mistaken for "Quality Posts" which they aren't.However, good campaign managers like Lutpin/Lauda that I'm aware of don't really care how long a post is if it's constructive.
Not going to mention names but there are still campaigns filled with such lengthy use-less shit-posters.I call it "progressive shit-posting".

I have read your post. I am working as fulll stack developer from last 8 year. I have worked with lots of technologies and develop lots of erp system using relational database(mysql). Node, php, angular and react these are the workings skills on which i am working these days. If you want ask more question you can ask feel free to me.
I don't know if you read the service thread properly but which part of the description says I'm looking for a "Node/Php/Angular/React" developer ? The title right there says ,I need a Python/Django developer which you don't seem to have as a skill in your portfolio.Experience wouldn't count as you are not proficient in the skill I'm looking for.Thanks.

1.This thread should be moved to - > Reputation since this isn't a forum related issue. Since it's about a merit source, I'd say it's related to the forum, and fits the Meta board. But the title could be improved (suggestion: replace "User" by "Merit source"). Looks like it has been moved again to where it belongs

The problem is,not many reporters are actively reporting stuff from that section.Being an active reporter myself,I think I'll start visiting that section more often. The user " Flying Hellfish " has the most Non-Bad reports, maybe they should be able to handle it accurately.I'd choose them as they already have an idea of what a good report is.

- Nice idea. However the only constrain I see is the lack of tutors offering courses on the platform. -They offer courses on other platforms like udemy, courseera and they get paid in fiats which is always chosen by tutors over a crypto.Don't you think ? -I mean unless you have substantial reasons why they would,I still see this as a big constrain. -No-one really has time to read white-papers,you should also describe your project in a gist.

Ordered about $40,000 worth of mining equipment from Halong and DHL is stating I have to pay more than $1,200 in import duty taxes and fees! Is this right? I had no idea it would be this much. I live near the customs office, should I try to clear it myself? I’m in the USA.
This is pretty normal considering you're exporting hardware from another country.I'm actually surprised you're paying way less than what they usually charge on import duties. If I were to order them in my country,I'd easily end up paying $10k or more for a hardware product worth $40k.It has nothing to do with how far you live from the customers office.Import taxes are charged for clearing the goods from one country to another.

The last one is your session key, which allows anyone to use your account. Congrats. (I logged you out, invalidating it...)
Oh I never knew that was my session token! Thanks a lot! I did get logged out. Hidden form fields are extremely common. You'll find them on virtually every form on the forum. They're hidden from view, not "secret".
Yep! If I may ask, what is the other field adjacent to the merit input?
