I can't possible be the only concerned with the possibility that Gavin or whoever is in his place in the future wont try to increase the number of coins, the same argument will apply. Hard-forking is a mistake.
This is pure FUD.

The block size cap is temporary, always has been.
The coin supply is permanent, always has been.

There is a Pacific ocean of a difference.

If Giga-bloat-coin happens I fear pedophiles will start uploading not just links to websites like they do now but full HD images into the block-chain for mere pennies.
What stopping them from doing this now and spreading it over multiple blocks?

I will only use IE, all other browsers are garbage

God I hope your just trolling! Cheesy

The worst part of it all is that the current limit doesn't even support 5 TPS. According to D&T it is even lower.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=946236.0

Yeah, at best 2 to 4 tps using 1MB. That's even worse than I thought.
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 05, 2015, 01:03:55 PM

So that's your best response to D&T's post.
*facepalm*

Extremely good post by D&T, worth a read...

Lol. The poll on the thread is just a poll "am i a sheep that follows the flock?" - yes or no

Listen, I'm up for changing the cap, but if the majority choose to stick with the current cap I would choose that chain. It's the sensible thing to do, it's not being a sheep, it's being wise.
Stay stubborn and inflexible, and you will lose.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 05, 2015, 12:10:38 PM
I hope everyone realises that at some point we will need to change over to a quantum safe keys such as Lamport signatures to protect our private keys. These will invariably require more block space.
I'm not an expert on the subject so please correct me if I'm wrong on this matter.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 05, 2015, 11:22:20 AM
Also we have Bitcoin elite in making now who make decissions on their own, have closed mitings and all so that is so sad and against original idea.

You are free to continue along the original path of bitcoin with the adjusted size cap, or along the altcoin fork keeping the current 1MB cap or you can make your own altcoin fork.
I think this is a great thing. Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. I love it.
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 05, 2015, 09:04:43 AM
Does it hurt your feelings?
No, I'm not Gavin.

Mr. Overflow your style of argumentations is manipulative at best - same as most of the other pro-forkers'.
I'm not the one trying to spin it around that the removal of the cap (which was the original game plan all along) isn't the "real" bitcoin.
1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 05, 2015, 08:41:47 AM
I personally will leave btc behind for good with a larger chain[/s] (just refuse using Gavincoin - it isn't even 'bitcoin' - it is really 'gavincoin') or stick to the old fork in case it can survive.
I'm afraid you are a victim of propaganda and lies.
The 1MB cap was always a temporary measure, bitcoin is just following it's original game plan of removing it. The true bitcoin will be the chain removing the choke.

I certainly am not a victim of any propaganda and it's certainly an insult to say so.

All i get here from these pro-forkers are insults and false arguments while they themselves of course ignore anything that disproves their stance.

This discussion makes me sick.

My announcement: i will not follow. Get lost.

You don't think using the phrase "gavincoin" is in itself insulting?

But you are wrong I risk nothing by staying on the old chain its only those who fork that risk anything.
If the majority of the hash power switches away from the chain you are on, then that chain will stall as the difficulty is very high. It is certainly not risk free.
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of people that didn't want to destroy bitcoin on: February 04, 2015, 11:42:25 PM
Didn't want to destroy bitcoin?
Past tense. Has it been destroyed then? Working last time I looked.

troll harder

No trolling. The title is written in past tense, suggesting bitcoin is destroyed.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht Guilty of Everything on: February 04, 2015, 11:38:25 PM
I have no idea if Ulbritch is guilty or not, and I don't see how the jury could either.
How would you possibly know what the jury saw and heard in the courtroom?

You are crazy, you want to tear the community apart because Satoshi-said-so many moons ago, I have no words.

It's not a question of what Satoshi wanted.

Listen, when I started using bitcoin back in 2012 I automatically signed up and agreed with a few things.
The main points were (but not limited to):

*) Coins would be generated at a predetermined controlled rate.
*) Blocks would be found on average every 10 minutes.
*) Block size would be temporarily capped, with the plan of increasing it in the future.

By using bitcoin I agreed with these points. As did every other person that has used bitcoin.

If I didn't agree with them, I wouldn't of started using bitcoin at the time. I wouldn't continue using bitcoin for years and then start moaning when it's time to start doing what I signed up for.
1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 04, 2015, 08:52:02 AM
I think this hardfork is intended to open doors for constant hardforks - like every few months a fork so they can do how they are pleased.
They want it to be routine to be able to do what they want with it - with central control of course. It's the attrition-strategy.

Gavin lost my trust btw.

The block size cap was always a temporary measure, always has been. Gavin is just following the original game plan of removing the temporary choke. Why would that make you lose his trust?
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told you so... on: February 02, 2015, 07:48:59 PM
ZERO! before the year is finished.  I told you so.  I warned you.

Archived for future entertainment purposes. Cheesy

What's the problem with paying 10 bucks instead of 10 cents to securely transfer a million dollars?
Nothing. The problems start when you try to securely transfer 5 bucks paying 10 bucks instead of 10 cents.
