there is somthing very magical about cooking things from source. sure, you can do it on windoze, but its a fuck ton easier to do on linux. and linux will get you chicks.

144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POS coins poll and information on: May 12, 2016, 11:36:09 PM
Are hyperstake, zeit, and tek still alive and kicking?  Didn't think they were popular still.  Any recent info someone could share regarding any of the three?  Thanks in advance

Only one I can speak for is hyperstake and it is alive and ticking. Sure, it might not be setting the world on fire, but I think the concept of presstab's checks on inflation are working marvelously... its really bloody hard to get stakes these days. Added to that the bells and whistles that makes it a set and forget wallet I'd say its doing pretty fucking well. Other than btc its the only coin I've held for any month + amount of time.

[edit] actually that is not true ive held g3nstake and salus for more then a month but I've held hype for longer than a year. You know what I mean yo [/edit]

Great job iGotSpots , I hope that it will soon say goodbye to those ridiculous prices CUBE  Cool

As soon as people get over that it's a spots coin, it will be fine. It's already been my focus for over 7 months. Neither CUBE nor I are going anywhere

lol, even you realize how fucking stupid and incorrect that statement is.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POS coins on: April 30, 2016, 03:37:37 AM
1. add hyperstake to your list

2. cloudstaking is stupid. control your keys and your coins. if you are that worried about it, buy a odroid c2 and set it up as a dedicated stake box. waaaay better in the long run.

added hyperstake and Decred to the poll list. thanks for the inputs.

i dont really know shit about cloudstaking yet. it just appealed to me initially because of the idea of having many stake coins in the cloud and not worrying about own computer resources. so maybe one must choose just a few coins to stake.

Get yourself one of these::

Mine is running 5 daemons right now with very little resources consumed, but obviously, mileage varies
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Experienced Front end Qt wallet developers, help me please! on: April 29, 2016, 04:25:48 AM
yes ffs github is your friend. look for coins with the layout features your are looking for and compare code. the best way is learning by example.

Hahah Jackpotcoin... lol I didn't realize he was involved with that trash. makes alot of sense though. That being said, this user represents the dregs of the forum. Eventually, if enough people keep on reporting his posts maybe the mods will get annoyed enough to send him packing.

Coming from the guy who i bitched out and warned to stop scamming people here before..
This is why random guys come out from no where to bad mouth me behind my back.
Because i probably nailed your ass already.

This GoldSeal guy was offering to buy peoples Bitcoin on Cryptsy for something like 28% of the value.
He kept posting on the Cryptsy Big Lawsuit topic spamming about offering to buy Cryptsy-BTC
I had asked him many times to quit spamming hard about it and that it was morally pretty bad.
He was also making it harder for people to try and get their coins out while Cryptsy had withdrawal problems.
He would stop for a bit then go back to hammering the topic with his offers (which kept getting lower & lower)

This GoldSeal guy is a dishonest greedy back stabbing little predator.
Preying on the vulnerable in crypto for a profit.
While at the same exact time hanging around spamming on trying to make it seem like he is some legit guy.

People who make topics like this do so for a reason.. something motivates them.
This type of topic is an extra step of taking things to another level.
Why someone would be so hell bent on attacking me i have no idea.
Unless they are one of the scammers i have confronted.

If you act with questionable behavior then expect some criticism.. not a free pass + benefit of the doubt.

so what motivates you to be the biggest piece of shit on these forums?

whay cube not accept in poloniex HuhHuhHuh?

Well, personally, I don't use them anymore because of all the verifications; not sure I trust people in altcoins with sensitive information, especially just randoms that are in registered in states they aren't really in, etc. Would be nice to get added there, but I probably wouldn't trade on their platform anyway, and I know tons of other people feel the same way

What? Is that because your coins are fucking garbage and they do not list garbage? hmmmm?

What is the next coin bobo? Maybe this time around include emission control from the getgo like someone who has been doing this for years...

[edit] and I mean that, you could move from shit scrapper to almost respectable if you made a decent coin then threw your weight behind it. These constant dump circuses do nothing to add to your respectability.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] !!!!STEEM is it a SCAM !!!!- or only honestly unfair??? you decide. on: April 09, 2016, 01:04:19 AM
I dont really care about this coin or your thoughts on it

BUT

I think its lazy that you cannot cook your own damn wallet. You are more secure if you actually look at the source code of what you are running and learn a little about how it works. Running precompiled bin's that solely deal with something of 'worth' is butt fucking retarded. Get off your ass, compile your own bins.

it will also serve as an easy test on whether or not an exchange is reputable.

Fuck yobit, they couldn't possibly sink any lower.

I dunno, BUT

If I were thinking of something to set a bounty for, why not set one for a block explorer that gives stats on locked amount of coins? I mean, this is all on the blockchain, couldn't you graph emission and what not pretty accurately into the future? Am I stupid here? (not been drinking I swear)

[edit 1] after a bit now cooking its settled down to ~100

I tried to compile and then I got this:

I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 64bits

Your machine doesn't have AES-NI.

Is there a way to use this miner in my machine?

No; I didn't ass support for non-AES-NI, since it's kind of pointless to mine without it.

Just to be sure, I'm using an i7-960 cpu quadcore. Anyone know for sure that cpu has no AES-NI?

Thanks in advance.

no dice yo

156  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: March 30, 2016, 12:22:07 AM
lol... the plot thickens...

Quote
Hello Valued BTCjam Member,

You may have recently received an email from net-arb stating that BTCjam is issuing counterfeit arbitration awards. Please be assured that this is not true. Unfortunately, two months ago we abruptly discovered that Net-Arb had partnered with enforcemyarbitrationaward.com and began spamming our user base. As a result, BTCjam immediately terminated service with Net-Arb. We apologize for any concern that Net-Arb's announcement caused and cannot stress enough that their claims are false.

Our goal is to provide our members with industry-leading technology and services which is why we’re glad to announce that we will be using a new arbitration award provider The Dhami Law Firm. This transition process will be streamlined for both our investor and borrower members.

All loans whose default date is on or after February 1st, 2016 will be subjected to this change.

Keep in mind that the new arbitration timeline that has been effective since January 27th, 2016 looks like this:
1. Investor receives an email notifying them that the loan will be sent to arbitration in 14-days.
2. Borrower meets 90 days delinquency after first missed payment.
3. The arbitration award is then easily accessible via the investments page on the individual investment of the listing.

Thank you for being a part of the BTCjam community.
We appreciate your continued business.

yo yo yo!

I sent you a PR for an update I encountered when trying to cook for arm64

ALSO, for the next wallet release I would put forth lowering the _(*&@#()*&!@(#*&!()@*#&!@ asinine dust auto merge from 100 gen to something like 20. I have done this to my own wallet to support a block size of ~50 and I would recommend dropping the min for everyone else as well. This is obviously open for discussion on typical/preferred block sizes.... but having the client nuke my weight on a 50 block is pretty god damn annoying.

[edit] referenced offending code https://github.com/GenStakeTeam/genstake/blob/master/src/wallet.cpp#L19

[edit 24] i see you are online honkey, get on irc
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pool? on: March 26, 2016, 01:22:24 PM
Cheeto02 has a pool set up for this coin for anyone interested.  While he has more work to do it is far enough along to let others use it.  For example the hashrates do not look quite right in the pool, do not have something right about that calculation yet between stratum and mpos.

Register here to use it: https://hodl.blockquarry.com

The source has been posted here for now: https://hodl.blockquarry.com/downloads/hodlminer.tar.gz

A Windows binary has been built but we are more Linux people than Windows so it needs optimization, give this a try: https://hodl.blockquarry.com/downloads/hodlminer.zip

Good luck

What are the instructions for compiling on linux?

Code:
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
