521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: October 05, 2017, 02:55:13 PM
Well thats true that many alternate currencies are getting in the way of bitcoins ..but if you are out in the market competing with other products and they seem to be in higher demand then you then you simply don't get off the shelf but you starve to be better..
I think before bitcoins are over ridden by any new currency they could. ...make a change in it for the good only.
That will help to keep the major crowd... In the bitcoin market.

Even with the increasing amount of money "invested" in altcoins, they still have nothing compared to bitcoin. The increase in the amount of money in altcoin just shows the increasing amount of people doing trading, and making money from ICOs. This doesn't show that altcoins are in fact slowly replacing bitcoins. Ultimately, those who have altcoins will convert it to bitcoins to have a safe investment. After all, the first reason they bought altcoins  is to make more bitcoin from it.

ETH is the coin that has another spotlight. On the other hand, we can see that the price isn't moving that much anymore. The hype that led Ether to reaching 0.12BTC a piece has already died. ETH will continue to have a spotlight as long as new coins keep on using smart contracts with ETH. Pretty much the same is happening with WAVES although it has a lot less attention compared to ETH and BTC.

527  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: October 02, 2017, 08:26:28 AM
Invest in bitcoins and in altcoins. Invest in a lot of coins not 1 or 2. You can then see which coin is rising and then you can full invest in it. I also claim from faucets from 5 sites the satoshi is send instantly to my coinpot account i can withdraw them when they are 10k worth of satoshi. It is not much but it is bitcoins xD.

Doing faucets and trying to justify that it is not too much but it is bitcoins is like picking up small rocks in a place full of big rocks and saying "It's small but it's still a rock." There's a lot of other opportunities out there and you don't have to stick with your current ways. You don't have to continue doing faucet. Right now, you are aware that the payment is really low on that. Surely you can google "Ways to earn bitcoin" and see better ways than faucets. Faucets are like the lowest thing you can do in bitcoin. Signature campaigns pay really well and just one payment from sig camp is like thousands of clicks in a faucet site. Just think about that. Remember that your time is also a resource and you have to use it well. Value your time and stop wasting it on faucets. Doing faucets one whole day every day doesn't even cover up your electric bill and internet bill.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: October 02, 2017, 08:01:31 AM
I always store it on a cold storage wallet. I can never be sure if my btc is safe on those exchanges like xapo or coinbase. They can still be possibly hacked and time will only tell when.

I guess it's more secure when you store your bitcoin in a cold storage wallet. It protects your wallet from unauthorized access, cyber hacks and etc. because it is not connected to the internet. And as for now, I am planning to store most of my bitcoin in a cold storage wallet.

Which should have been your wallet right from the start. I store most of my bitcoins in a cold storage and I have the assurance that it will never be hacked unless someone barged in my house, pointed a gun at my head, and made me give him the wallet seed. Obviously the chances of that happening is really low because people in my place don't even own a gun and everyone knows each other. Plus, bitcoin is not known in my place.

Leave some of your bitcoins in an online wallet so you can cash out right away without having to connect your cold storage wallet to the Internet. Leave some coins to trading sites in case a major altcoin goes down and you want to trade. One important thing is to have a good security for your computer. I suggest that you run a Linux OS instead of Windows or at least do a dual boot. There are tutorials out there about that.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: October 02, 2017, 07:31:00 AM
bitcoin really can help those who want or a person whose on it in cryptocurrency, it also can change someone lifes if your lucky enough, but Ending World Poverty? I would say it is impossible, many Big Fish will counter bitcoin in the future, also not all Person are willing to know about bitcoin. just my opinion.

Same opinion here. Bitcoin will not end world poverty because we will never be all rich. Saying that bitcoin will end world poverty is like saying fiat currency will end world poverty. Clearly that is not the case in reality. Bitcoin can lessen poverty, sure, because we all have equal opportunities here and the only question is if you are competent enough to have people hire you and avail your the service you are offering.

Just like most things, big fish will always enter the game and dominate it but that doesn't mean that small fish can do a good job and somehow grow as a bigger fish.

If you are looking for a way to help the poor, then do great in bitcoin, open a company, and hire poor people. At first you would have to educate and train them but you want to help them so that requires a little bit more of effort.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: October 02, 2017, 06:57:46 AM
Along with many advantages Bitcoin has some disadvantages also .The disadvantages of Bitcoin are listed below-
1-Bitcoins are not widely accepted.
2-Bitcoin market faces many ups and downs and its price keep on fluctuating.
3-It has no physical form so it has firstly to be converted into other currencies to use it in physical stores.
4- It is decentralized i.e. it is without any involvement of government so government will not accept it as only currency for financial transactions.
5- If wallets are lost then the Bitcoins are also lost and we cannot do anything to recover that.

2 and 4 are actually an advantage if you try to look from the right perspective.

[2] Bitcoin has ups and downs and it's all up to you how are you going to deal with it. I, personally, deal with it by cashing out enough money for me to last a couple of weeks without having to withdraw any of my bitcoin funds. Even if bitcoin's price goes down, it will be alright because I don't need to cash out anyway. I can sleep at peace and don't have to panic sell. Other people also do trading so they can make money from price fluctuations. Buy low, sell high, it is.

[4] Bitcoin is decentralized and is not controlled or owned by the government. Is that not exactly what we all want? Freedom from the government. The government gave us democracy but where it is (wow I just opened a broad topic). Anyway, since bitcoin is not owned by the government, we can freely do whatever we want to do with it. And bitcoin being decentralized means that it can't be taken down easily because it has no weak point and it has no central point that if that get destroyed, then we are all going down.

Regarding #5, if you lost your wallet in real life, do you have a way to recover that? Only way to recover a lost wallet in bitcoin is to have the wallet's seed or the address' private key.
531  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: October 01, 2017, 03:17:30 PM
I don't think billionaires invest in BTC because they do not believe in it. They are still naive and believe in the dollar or gold. That is fine with me that'll give me more chances to buy BTC for cheap.

Can we blame them? They have become a billionaire without bitcoin, so why would they suddenly get a change of heart and invest their money on bitcoin when they can just keep on expanding their business? I think if I am a billionaire myself, then I will be busy making plans and partnerships with other billionaire people and things like bitcoin wouldn't get my attention at all unless it becomes an actual thing and the majority of people are already using it. That is just not the case as of today but I wouldn't really be surprised if a billionaire will invest a couple of millions in bitcoin because losing that amount wouldn't really be a problem to him. He can burn a couple of millions and feel nothing at all about it. Just like how you can burn a dollar right now but not feel at all because you have a lot more than just 1 dollar.
532  Economy / Economics / Re: How to double your money using BTC? on: October 01, 2017, 02:43:28 PM
The fastest gambling I have ever known can be risky but I still wish you good luck x2 the amount of money you have. ha ha  Grin Grin

And gambling is also the fastest way to ruin your entire life. Visit the gambling boards in this place and you will see nothing but people regretting that they ever tried to gamble. A lot of gimmicks are out there and "Tips and tricks" to make you stay gambling and think that you are about to beat the system. Well guess what, you are not. Anyway, it is indeed possible to x2 your money in gambling. But I think I would rather do efforts and learn new skills to double my money instead of relying solely on luck. After winning that x2 bet, do you think you would stop gambling right away? Your curiosity will hit you and that will make you continue betting. Maybe with a lower bet amount and lower multiplier but it will make you bet and bet until you ultimately lose all what's in your bankroll. Same old story.
533  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: October 01, 2017, 02:20:50 PM
Bitcoin can improve countries economy because it will help a lot of people to earn money and the people will use those money to spend on the things that they want and those profit of the shop or the store that the people used to buy things with. Then it will boost the shop or the store's income and the tax of that store will go up too and it will help the country to have a better income which will help itself to improve its system and economy.

Nice explanation. Basically as more money comes to the country, the better it economy becomes. Regardless of in which form it is. Bitcoin is still money. On the other hand, because bitcoin transactions are not really taxed, as more bitcoin users a country has, the tendency to have lesser tax accumulated is increasing. Imagine a country where a good percentage of people are using bitcoin in most of their transactions. It will leave the country poor in such a way that the government can't do anything about the tax thing. They can't increase the tax on fiat because that will just make more people choose to use bitcoin. On the other hand, there is no possible way that they are able to ban bitcoin unless they remove the Internet access in their country.
534  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: October 01, 2017, 02:01:36 PM
I do not see the point of never selling my bitcoins since we joined bitcoin in order to buy something big and when you reach that amount you can sell it and get the right things.

I think the point of this thread is to never sell your bitcoins in exchange of dollars or any other local currency because eventually, you are going to be able to buy things with bitcoins. And I do agree with that. We might not live long enough to see a world where you can buy everything with bitcoin, I will be more than glad just to see a local store accepting bitcoins. But of course not all of us already have the things that we need. I started out doing signature campaigns with a crappy laptop and has a faulty screen. I just continued to work until I had enough money to buy a desktop computer. Now, I am in need of a better keyboard. And then a computer chair and so on.. Our needs continue to be there. If bitcoin is your main source of income, then you will be forced to sell some of your coins in exchange of fiat (in contrast of the point of this thread) in order to upgrade your equipment.
535  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: October 01, 2017, 01:51:24 PM
There are a lot of possibilities to teach kids about bitcoin you can do that though games because a lot of kids play games like steam they play a game and gain free bitcoins that way they can buy more games with that bitcoins this way they will learn something and try bitcoins later for something else.

Games is the best choice to really bring bitcoin to the kids. I'm not familiar with steam though but I have heard that its quite popular so I guess it will be nice if we can inject it on kids playing it. I have kids myself and they are very inclined to technology. But I don't know what will be the proper approach. I was thinking of discussing it with them directly without any qualms. Have a sit down discussions with them and in front of the laptop, explain in a layman's term what bitcoin is. And later we will go into technical. What you guys think? Do you think this is right approach? Or should I use other ways to deal with it?

Steam is more like a platform where you can download different games and a lot of them are amazing but not free. Steam accepts bitcoin for payment for their games, but I don't think that works vice versa. Listen here, if you're going to make your kids earn money by making them play a game, well I'm going to tell you now that you are not going to succeed. A lot of gamers are already in MMORPG. They grind or hunt items and then later on sell it to other people in exchange of actual money or bitcoin. One thing is that a lot of people are already doing it and your kid is probably not going to be the best player in that game at all. Because 1, he is still a kid and he has to go to school, socialize, etc. Gamers out there have no life and just sit in front of their computer playing 24/7.

My advise? I think that you should not turn your kid into a money-making machine. They are just.. kids.
536  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 21-Sep-2017] on: October 01, 2017, 01:09:46 PM
Following on with Decoded, an update should also be made in the OP.

There are plenty of new signature campaigns that have not yet been added to this list.

These are:

~Snip~

If you guys would just scroll a little, you wouldn't have to link them here because they are already in the latest update.

Plus, some of the campaigns in the services have no guarantee of payment or a "Join at your own risk" campaign. We don't list them here anymore.
537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: September 30, 2017, 01:49:24 AM
As the current market rates fluctuates daily but as on weekends they fluctuates about 15dollars  so you can flip your bitcoins at weekends.
And, no holding your bitcoins for long is not a very good idea, you can trade them for other altcoins and then trade them back to btc after their incereased value, basically buy low and sell high.

Yeah i agree with you, if im on that situation same thing i will do..im not just hold my bitcoin but trade it into other currency, when other currency dump. And then turn it again into btc when the value of btc pumps. (Buy low and sell high), so in this strategy the  bitcoin you are going to hold for a certain time will earn more
2×, 3×......

I think you can only do this when the market is moving a lot. Most of the time, as bitcoin goes up, altcoins are going down (in bitcoin price). With what you are saying, you are basically taking advantage of the indifference of their price and I think that it only happens for a couple of hours, sometimes even a couple of minutes. So you should always be online in order to do it. I don't think that 2x, or 3x is really achievable in this strategy unless the altcoin that you bought suddenly went up which is kinda rare these days, tbh. So many coins are out there and everyone is trading this and that. People don't really support a coin anymore, they simply use altcoins as a tool to make profit and in the end of the day, they are going to convert those profit into bitcoin and hold that long term.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin a good way to invest your money ? on: September 30, 2017, 01:05:32 AM
I heard that bitcoin is a good investment for making a huge profit in the future , is that right ? Because i want to buy some bitcoin in these days .

Yes Bitcoin is a good investment you can save part of your money that you are willing to invest as i had read bitcoin is going to have a higher value in the next ten years. So if you buy or invest today you will earn a great profit in the years you will keep it.
bitcoin is a good investment but if you look at other cryptocurrencies they are also having some intresting technology which have no fees for transactions, faster confirmations or more anonymous

More anonymous, I think the only coin that truly makes you remain anonymous is black byte of Byteball. All the other coins have a digital trail no matter what you do. All you can do to remain anonymous is to blur out your trail by doing coin mixer or by simply putting your coins into a trading site and then withdraw them again. I'm sure that no one will come and have the doxxing power that can access other sites' databases.

Yes, other coins are interesting but at the end of the day, they are all just like bitcoin but with some features added. Some coins are made for certain people, some coins are made for a certain purpose. I think altcoins only have a specialized field of their own but the concept still remains the same. All those specialization and new features aren't enough to overthrow bitcoin from its throne.
