The more each user shares the page, and the more users they themselves enter into the draw, the higher their chances of winning will be.
Is this supposed to mean something or is it just bullshit words to try and make your page more public?

Things seem to change quick here on the forum and that is bad enough when one day the line is this and the next day the line is that.  Remember the warning that morantis gave about Peepcoin and all those people just dove right in.  It gets crazy around here and that is one of the reasons that I like to sit back and see what happens first and then go from there.
1202  Economy / Economics / Re: Have $20 worth of bitcoin, how to earn more with it? on: October 09, 2016, 02:20:28 PM
you can make an investment. I usually choose altcoin investment in the trading world. because trading altcoin only requires very little capital. I suggest to you that have the money 10 USD. you can get over it.

Some coins, though, will be hard enough to mine that you will lose a little money each time you rent, so watch what you are doing.

The better option than mining is always buying and trading in new coins, coins on the rise and such.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever looked at the Bitcoin testnet? on: October 08, 2016, 03:06:00 PM
Testnet are for testing and unless you're a developer or someone who really wants to learn through practice you don't need to use it.
But what do you mean by trying to monetize it? As in using it to learn how to create an altcoin or something?
How much skill do you need in order to use this?  I hear all this talk about being a developer and I am not sure what that exactly entails.  I am looking to learn more.
Anyone can use testnet and you use it in exactly the same way you use mainnet. Just start Bitcoin Core with the -testnet option or, if you installed Core 0.13.0, use the provided testnet shortcut.

Why would you want to use testnet though if you aren't a developer?

I think you might be more interested in looking at the first 500 blocks of the actual blockchain.  The testnet has basically the same chain, but there are occasional features tested.  You may scan through the chain as closely as you want, really it is better to know which sets of blocks had active testing of this and that
1204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I do trading? on: October 08, 2016, 03:04:31 PM
much better to study your passion because you need to know if what type of a trader your personality was, assessment should to be take first then proper education with what type of trading are you going to enter, easy newbie rules buy low sell high but before doing that check the graph movement make sure that the coin is not yet been pumped.

On a site like YoBit, since it was mentioned, you can also take the time to site and watch on one of the more active trading coins.  You will see how a bid is placed and then picked up, or how an ask is made and then filled. It is not something that becomes super obvious right away, but once you get used to it, it begins to almost be soothing.
1205  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: do i have to pay tax on bitcoins ? on: October 08, 2016, 02:55:29 PM
You don't need to pay any tax until you convert your bitcoins to your fiat. Once your bitcoins converted, you might need to pay tax to your government according to the taxation rules.

Now, that was the view from the SEC as of mid-year.  That is how it was laid in the law and that is how it has been treated in the courts.

If that was your trade, I would not even mention it on taxes. If you are unloading that much every day, then you should deal with the taxes.  That leads to your next issue.  The IRS is not part of the government and is a corporation.  With that in mind, we also know that the IRS and the government feed info back and forth all the time in abundance
1206  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Can any one recommand a good advertising network on: October 08, 2016, 01:33:40 PM
I did once briefly use a site that was something like a-ads, with the hyphen.  I cannot vouch for payments and such, but it was an instant set up and there were no hoops to jump through.  The only trick with the site was the fact that the username and Bitcoin address thing was odd.  I can't remember the deal, but I do remember that you absolutely need to copy and paste all that info down and even bookmark the site.

For some reason, after the initial sign up and set up I remember we had issues getting back to the site is all, not sure what the deal was, probably the fact that we have new sign ups and things for sites all the time.

1208  Economy / Reputation / Re: reporting possible scammer. on: October 08, 2016, 05:22:46 AM
but you can chargeback if he scams, so why didn't you do the trade?

Because the guy has absolutely nothing to show for and yet keeps pushing and pushing me to send and once he figured out i will not be sending he went offline right away on skype. His skype account only has 3 contacts, his btc account is new with just 3 posts. That should say enough i think?

Also i cant think of anyone willing to trade 1:1 for a first time.

If you do anything with it use an alternate PayPal account.  We are not saying to violate PayPal, it is very possible and within their terms to have a second account as a business account.  If you are not actively doing business, then that account is a nice way to do others fucntions that may or may not have issues
1209  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where can I buy bitcoins without showing ID? on: October 08, 2016, 05:17:27 AM
I want to buy bitcoins on an exchange, because the prices are better. But most requires an ID.
Circle and bitstamp requires ID.

Anyone know an exchange with good prices, where ID is not required?

This does not give you actual cash, but if you do normally purchasing around town it can be nice sometimes.  There is a site that sells gift cards for various places, common places like McDonalds and Walmart.  This site does take Bitcoin as a payment option.  The exchange is even and that is nice, so spending $10 nets you a $10 gift card.
1210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to Invest BTC? on: October 08, 2016, 05:15:54 AM
Investing Bitcoin serious thing, I checked one eye- catching design that pays well, and the quality goes up if you do buy the power for wages.

It all comes down to your investment.  Is he going to be long-term or shorter.  In the long term Bitcoin itself is probably one of the best investments.  Over a shorter period of time you're going to want to look at alt coins and other investments that are going to vary more rapidly over a short period.
1211  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: do i have to pay tax on bitcoins ? on: October 08, 2016, 05:13:42 AM
if your country have impose tax on bitcoin then you have to pay tax otherwise there is no tax on bitcoin  only those countries may be collecting tax on bitcoin who are already accepted bitcoin as legal currency.

Keep in mind that the government has taken a firm stance in the Bitcoin arena and they may try to do any number of things to make it hard on people until it all settles down. You start dealing with taxes on the trade of BTC and you might find other authorities knocking on your door with claims of money laundering.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From 5 mBTC to 526 mBTC in couple hours! on: October 08, 2016, 05:10:47 AM
You should see what happens when you try to remove or withdraw the funds, that is a real fun moment.   There are lots of sites that make it appear that you have gotten somewhere and then you make deposits to step the revenue up and then more and then when you try to get your money back out, there is some issue.  It may be a minimum or account security or just an outright, “Not for you, sir!”.
1213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about saving a large amount of coins on: October 06, 2016, 04:11:23 PM
From personal experience I really recommend paper wallets, there are tutorials on youtube.

One note, never re-use a paper wallet address. I make sure I withdraw all the amount from each address when I need the funds.

Having said that, I do like the look of the new Trezor2.

I generally agree with paper wallets, but it also depends on the set up.  A busy office space, a house hold that is hectic, these may be places that a whole lot of money can be destroyed or stolen quick.  A friend of mine created a side token for a halfway house that he was running.  People coming and going, some straight out of detox or off the street, paper wallet not the way to go
1214  Other / Off-topic / Re: What can i do with 3 Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2016, 04:05:46 PM
The amount makes that an easy one.  I always tell people to diversify and you actually have 3 coins.  Use one for trading, make up your own “fund”, some strong coins, some growth coins and trade back and forth on spec coins.  Use another 1 BTC for loaning.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Margin trading in crypto good or bad? on: October 06, 2016, 04:01:25 PM
There are a lot of terms being tossed around, lol.  What the OP linked to is a pretty standard model of margin trading, or trading against an amount that is not actually owned by the trader.  This is actually a pretty crazy thing to do with crypto, for the site, not the trader.  When I was young I had a Nintendo and a casino game, I think “Caesars Palace”, now bear with me, this relates.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Current Pump Groups on: October 06, 2016, 03:52:56 PM
Details of current pump groups.

Please list ones you know about and give positive or negative views.

The strongest and best groups are those small teams that no one knows about.  Most of us can see a pump happening from one of the bigger groups and will either get on board or wait.  No matter what, if people see it happening it loses the power it could have.
1217  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A weakness in block chains? on: October 06, 2016, 03:50:48 PM
According to Bitcoin Wiki:
"Block chain length" is calculated from the combined difficulty of all the blocks, not just the number of blocks in the chain. The one that represents the most computation will win.

The worry addressed there was that an attacker reduces block difficulty, creating lots of new blocks.

There is, however, another concern, an attacker may increase block difficulty to just above that of the whole competing block chain.
Since PoW is added linearly to the 'true' chain, the attacker's probability rate of success is inversely proportional to the time.
Since the integral of 1/x diverges at infinity, any attacker, even with an arbitrarily small fraction of the total hash rate, will almost certainly eventually overtake the network.

Is this a problem?
Can this be prevented?
Are there any safeguards to prevent this?

It is always going to come down to consensus rule.  For a new coin or one that has very few nodes, there can be issues, maybe.  For Bitcoin, you are simply never going to force an altered chain down its throat.
1218  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2016, 03:47:26 PM
2016 is not the year of the bitcoin, I think that its not possible anymore the bitcoin had a good future a but its not what it was back in the days.
Lets hope that 2017 will be the year of the bitcoin.

I get shocked to hear that kind of statements from people living in bitcoin world, because every know how bitcoin has progressed in this year and how much percent it has grown in value but if still someone says that this has not been a year of bitcoin then what else should a year bring for us?

I am shocked too hear this. Lets suppose someone introduce a new concept and service, like a sidechain that provides a company a place to move its own private currency around, smart contracts so that you can guarantee that your coins are only spent when you receive your "x".  The new services that should be making waves in the non-crypto community and within don't get the use and attention because too many people didn't understand the foundation below it.

Only than bitcoin popularity may be little low.

1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: October 04, 2016, 03:23:40 PM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

First of all, no need to teach to anyone, and especially for teenagers and children they are very active and they can understand quickly, only tell them that Bitcoin is a money and give them mobile and definitely they can do search about bitcoin on internet or YouTube, No problem to teach the children or to anyone.
