561  Other / Beginners & Help / Thoughts on Account Signing on: July 11, 2017, 05:39:07 PM
Just a thought and comment on the account signing.  I put in a Bitcoin address in the profile when I first signed up or pretty close to then, but that address is nowhere near under my control anymore.  I am sure the wallet has nothing in it, but the passphrases or whatever I used on that wallet are long gone.  This is going to be true for most users on the forum and the veteran members know this.

562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Securing your wallet on: July 11, 2017, 05:13:01 PM
Attackers attack the email to get the 2fa out of the way.  Point is that I daily get a half dozen emails that one account or another has a password reset attemtpt.  I keep everything tight as a button, so there is no worry, just sheer amazment that it is almost always a Bitcoin related account and even though I just said that I have a huge number of accounts, in comparison to all the other accounts, bank accounts, emails and such, it is staggering how much people try to hit those crypto accounts.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Wallets Vs Online Wallets on: July 09, 2017, 07:07:07 PM
Which of the Bitcoin wallets between the Online and Offline works best?

Online wallets which are wallets like coinjar, blockchain, Coinbase are wallets that are always online which makes it very easy to hack wallets like them. For online wallets though it is usually very convient and safe to store under one Bitcoin there. For example I use coinjar as my spending wallet since it.is very convenient and since I only have less than one Bitcoin there.

For offline wallets they are more safe, since people can't hack you unless your using the wallet. And also if a hard fork comes, there is no guarantee that the money you have on an online wallet will still be there after the hard fork. For offline wallets though, that just doesn't apply to you.

I personally have more than ten different, used addresses that I control.  Fifty percent of those are online wallets that cannot provide a signed message.  PGP signing confused people worse than Bitcoin most of the time and is a pain in the but to set up the first time.  Just throwing a message in a TX and then being able to verify that the message is yours is another thing, but that comes back to the fact that most of these addresses on here are no longer accessible.  Online Bitcoin wallets attach the secondary ID string, so many people lose wallet access and simply grab another one versus recovering the wallet.

564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: July 09, 2017, 06:15:54 PM
The fact is that Bitcoin is what we wanted it to be, it is virtually uncontrolled and unmanaged and untampered with by our governments.  That means that if you accidentally, purposely or whatever send X coins to a person, it is now theirs and whether they stand up to promises made prior to that or not, the money is theirs.  We have all lost money to mistakes, issues or scams and we appreciate people sharing that there may be dangers, but no one cares what a member thinks or trusts just because they have some coins under their username.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CVC] CIVIC Tokensale :: 21 June on: July 09, 2017, 05:07:52 PM
Congratulations on your excellent ICO, CIVIC. We are proud to be part of your campaign here on Bitcointalk.
Hope to see greater achievements for your Company in future.
Signature campaign was just a promotion for the token project which sale is over already. I think the campaign will be over soon, because of the result of the sale was incredible.

Yes, the ICO is a sucessful one, but i hope their media campaigns for bounty should continue for the more. ICO is not the End ofcourse. They will be listing the coins to the exchanges and making them popular is also a priority and social media campaigns continue to help in promoting all the way through.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afraid of August One? on: July 09, 2017, 04:14:54 PM
Even the price, if affected a great deal, will settle back after some time.  It is not that big of a deal, and no matter what your opinion of the changes, there is nothing that most people can do either way.  If you are scared, either sell out before hand(not suggested) or keep them offline for a day or two around the first.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending bitcoin without the miner fees ! on: July 09, 2017, 10:19:57 AM

Fact are facts and you can send with any miner fee that you want whether it be high or low.

it's going to affect how quickly the transactions get confirmed in the chain and going to affect the health of the block chain, in general because you're taking money away from the people that are mining it. so the more and more money that you take away from those mining it the less and less mining that will happen and therefore eventually muck and shut the entire system down
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: The Pump Mafia | New Pump and Dump Group on: July 09, 2017, 10:01:13 AM
I was just stating on another thread that of the many new threads that were released in the past hour there are two pump dump groups mentioned in new threads, that is including yours. why is this being put out there...to the height and popularity that it is no one knows, other than the fact that these “groups” make money off the newbies.  because a true pump-and-dump group is only going to benefit its membership if that information is not made public.
569  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where can I buy bitcoin without verifying Id? on: July 09, 2017, 09:47:48 AM
Paxful is always been the way to go. Also localbitcoin.com, there's a couple other websites that are not as trusted. if you're going to do this, depending on your method of payment, then take a look at Paxful and local bitcoins as your number one point of action then go from there.  Do not trust anyone here on the forum and especially if they throw the word escrow around, that means nothing when you cannot trust either of the two people involved.
570  Economy / Services / Re: I want to earn Bitcoin. on: July 07, 2017, 06:02:09 AM
Hi,
I am Arka Narayan.
I have 3 Bitcoin. Now I want to use this fund for earn more. Please reply with your advice.
Thank You.

Amazing that you got 3 btc in your wallet. I suggest you to put your money into some alt coin trading so it will grow more but just be wise of choosing what coin will you use since there were pump and dump coins around. Or if you want just store your coin in your wallet so it will grow more since every day it grows in value. You can invest half and save half of them. Lots of options are there for you dude.
571  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: high paying bitcoin faucet website on: July 07, 2017, 05:27:16 AM
Hi,

Does anyone have high paying bitcoin faucet website list without too much ads?

Ex: https://freebitco.in/(I need this type faucet website list)

Thanks

There is no other than that as far as I know. I suggest you mate that you have your skills you do not have to look for faucet just show case what you can, like if you have talent in web designing then it is in demand you can take it and name your price. Just troll around service section also in some freelance sites. Faucets are the least paying job and i think one should look for a better opportunity.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why BlockChain Fees Increase/Discrease ? on: July 06, 2017, 06:26:40 PM
I saw that today Blockchain Transfer fee for Regular is $0.15 !! But usually its between $1.50-$3.00 and this fees amount is not stable. What is the actual reason behind this fees up-down?

The wallets set a fee based on those numbers, but that is not what you have to pay.  The fee is completely controlled by the wallet user and can be set as high or low as you like.  If you are using a wallet or online wallet that does not display the option for you, then the wallet is choosing and it is choosing based on the numbers that people are indicating here, but it is still the software that is choosing and only because you were dumb enough to let it control your life and finanaces.

573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to regulate bitcoins? on: July 06, 2017, 05:42:43 PM
This would really need a lot of help from the ISP's and local departments and would cost a huge amount of money to rope off around 30% of the users, maybe more.  The idea would not be to catch the user's per se, but to make using Bitcoin so hard that no one would bother trying.
Can they regulate it? Sure, and they can stop crime completely by assigning a single law enforcement officer to every citizen.  Will they go beyond the current regulations?  Doubtful.

574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: HACKED !! on: July 06, 2017, 05:33:19 PM
MINING ON ETHOS

SETTINGS ON REMOTE CONFIG - DIGITAL OCEAN.

SO ALL THE SETTINGS OF POOL AND WALLET ARE SAVED IN ONE CONFIG FILE ON OCEAN AND EVERY RIG TAKES UP THAT SETTING.

NOW AT NIGHT MOSTLY  BETWEEN 1-4 AM . SOMEONE USED TO ACCESS THE DROPLET AND CHANGE THE WALLET ADDRESS TO HIS OWN AND POOL TO EUROPE SERVERS AT ETHERMINE.ORG. BUT SOMEHOW THE RIGS NEVER MINED AND SHOWED 0 HASHRATE . AND CHANGING IT TO  OLD CONFIG FILES AGAIN AFTER  4 AM AROUND

AS WE WERE MONITORING THE POOL ONLY, SO WE CONSULTED MANY PEOPLE THAT RIGS ARE MINING BUT ARE NOT SHOWING UP IN THE POOL. BUT OBVIOUSLY NO ONE AGREED.

SO TODAY  HE CHANGED THE SERVERS TO INDIAN SERVER NEAREST TO OUR RIGS AND THEY MINED LIKE 4-5 MINUTES. I BECAME AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CHECKED HIS WALLET ADDRESS ALL MACHINES WERE ONLINE.

BUT AS SOON AS I SHUT DOWN THE RIGS HE CHANGED THE CONFIG FILES TO ORIGINAL SETTINGS.

HERE IS THE WALLET ADDRESS : https://ethermine.org/miners/85b4203fff14f350b388f8d6f9b082ed184d4b69

AND WHY IN HIS WALLET ADDRESS, ONLY WHEN THE WORKERS ARE ACTIVE THEN ONLY WE CAN SEE THEM OTHERWISE THEY ARE REMOVED FROM POOL AT THAT TIME ONLY. USUALLY  INACTIVE WORKERS STAYS ON THE POOL FOR A DAY AT LEAST.

TRIED CHANGING DIGITAL OCEAN PASSWORD TWICE.

DOES ANY ONE KNOWS THIS ? ANYONE EVER BEEN ATTACKED THE SAME WAY PREVIOUSLY ?

HERE ARE SOME SCREENSHOTS OF TODAY,  YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE TIMINGS AT THE TOP LEFT FOR MORE CLARITY  -

http://imgur.com/a/nvaMB - THESE TWO WHEN EVERY RIG WAS MINING AT HIS ADDRESS AT 2:52AM

http://imgur.com/a/wRHxN - THIS ONE OF THE MORNING AT 6:13 AM

KINDLY HELP AND GUIDE.

THANKS .

Now, do you use SSH or another method to access the cloud, that might be the point of hacking also.  Lastly, without more info it is hard to say what you should do, but there is a site called miningrigrental.com and you can rent out your mining rig by pointing it at that site...blah, blah.  We used to use the site because you can point the site at your mining sites so that when it is not being rented it is mining for you and with multiple rigs it is easier to change those settings online than using SSH or another method like that.  Just a thought for an added line of security.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CVC] CIVIC Tokensale :: 21 June on: July 06, 2017, 05:13:26 PM
Are there any rumors when CVC will be added to any exhange.

Yesteraday, I asked the team on telegram and they just said that the team will announce when CVC get on the exchanges. They said, they can't announce anything before it totally gets accepted by the exchanges.
the first things is ..when will the token release ?

July 16th!

are you sure about about ? so we have 10 day to wait~

It was already announced that release the tokens would take several weeks, also since they need to process refunds etc.

Reputable people behing this coin. I guess that will help CIVIC to get listed reliable exchanges.

Yes, you are right. It really needs an effort and honesty to make a coin reliable  and trustable and we can see the Dev and team work here and i can safely assume this is something worth investing. I will recommend this to all who are looking for reliable coin ICO  /Tokens
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible to run Core Client without local copy of blockchain ? on: July 04, 2017, 06:18:52 PM
What you want cannot be done to my knowledge.  Even if there were two local cores with different names and service macros, I do not think that they can share the same data at the same time, basically access arguments.

If they shared one at a time, always one not running, it still shouldn't cause constant resyncing because the core writes files at shutdown that tell it where it last touched the wallet dat and other information and when the other core alters the wallet files and then the first one comes back, it will be pissed that it is not as it left it and probably want to resync.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 04, 2017, 05:46:18 PM
I cannot begin to fully explain it, but bear in mind that there are two scenarios for a pool for any block.  If someone in that pool solves the block, then most of the numbers that you have been looking at as it was solved are true.  When another pool solves the block, the amount of time that each miner has been in your pool consistently will have some bearing.
578  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What does cryptocurrency money laundering means??? on: July 04, 2017, 05:12:43 PM
What does cryptocurrency money laundering means???  examples please... Thank you

The concept could mean different things to different people, but basically
would be something along the following lines: "Taking or allowing cash/credit
that was used from a crime/illegal act/theft and using that to purchase either
bitcoins or altcoins, in order to hide the links from the original crime/
illegal act/theft.

For example, I steal 10,000 USD from a bank, I then buy bitcoins with all
the money on localbitcoins or with other p2p cash trades. Eventually, I will
have around 10,000 USD converted into bitcoins. I then use those bitcoins to buy
other altcoins to mix them more, possibly monero, and then reconvert back into
bitcoins, where I now sell those bitcoins on localbitcoins or other p2p cash trades.
When I receive new money that is not associated with the original 10,000 USD,
I have "laundered" that money.

Besides committing the original crime, laundering would be an additional crime.

For a bunch of smart guys, you really miss the mark.  First off, to explain, forget the Bitcoin thing.  You just killed someone for $100,000, the cops are all over the area of the city, watching people, watching money and you sitting on $100,000 is a dead give away.

So, I sell you 1,000 TV's for your $100,000, and you open a quick eBay shop selling TV's, the cops even poke into your house/business and it is just you and your legit TV business.  A little too direct, but it works.  Now, the heat is off you and I go to your eBay or your website and buy the same TV's back for $80,000.  The money appers clean, the $20,000 is my fee and you have a direct paper trail of legitimate money, there should be more steps and more distance, but point illustrated.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: July 02, 2017, 09:36:06 AM
Transactions fees on bitcoin was not fair, maybe they need to develop the fees system because almost 10-15% of amount transferred will be the fees it was so high. Maybe the charges may change into 2-3% of amount per transactions.

Yes, the fee is not fair it seems they took advantage of the demand of bitcoin in market. Sadly but it is true. It does not have its equate to how much you send but there is minimum transaction fee whether you send small you have to pay 0.001 now and so if you send high amount of btc then it goes higher so it is a bit burden then.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: July 02, 2017, 08:00:08 AM
In Ireland, only a few people are asking about bitcoin. One or two weeks ago there was elder guy asked me if I know anything about bitcoin he said he was told bitcoin will be $10.000 this year. I just laughed.

What  did you do? Just laugh? uhm. I guess you better just enlighten him that it was a false statement. Anyway in my country there were some people who knew bitcoin but exactly in my town, only few. All I do is I offer them an online income money. Then afterwards they are asking how things work. But to directly ask me what is bitcoin, none yet. Most people know the basic know how of bitcoins.
