181  Economy / Goods / A Few Cool Silver Coins on: February 07, 2014, 08:28:49 PM
Hey everybody,
I was looking through my collection today and grabbed a few coins out that I figured would interest people...not just collectors. The prices you see reflect trackable shipping anywhere in the US. I can ship internationally w/no tracking for $3, or with tracking for $10. If you buy 2 or more coins I will ship w/out tracking for free.
Anyways, here's what I have w/prices (please use converter @ preev.com)

1. Turn of the century Ethiopian Lion of Judah (Rastafari, anyone?) Gersh (Silver): $10
2. 1936 Germany 5 Reichmark (WWII currency) (Silver): $25 [Almost Uncirculated]
3. 1816 Britain King George III (Revolutionary War!) 1 Shilling (Silver): $25

If you check eBay you will see that my prices are more than fair. I am willing to trade/negotiate (not so much if you only buy one coin) so make me a deal-it can't hurt!

Thanks!

Send me an email, I'll respond with a picture of the product. You can also check out www.karatbars.com, our main website. I am connecting you to a quality product that is packaged under video surveillance and shipped internationally using FedEx. We only conduct business after receiving "KYC" or "Know your client" documents to assure the person ordering our gold is the person receiving the product. Security and customer service is paramount. I am a liaison to a private gold buying club for the serious gold buyer.

Skype ID: NSWilliams12345

Karat Bars is a complete MLM and the prices they offer for there bars after you have signed up for the scheme are ludicrous   - or tell me otherwise by stating the price of your 1gram , 2.5g  and 5g bars. And the link on the karat bars site showing these prices???

If you are looking to buy bullion go to agora or amagi not these guys

Amagi will beat any price

Just curious ... how can you "unfortunately put a hole" in something like this? Would take a drill or something to do that .... what's the story? Smiley
I ordered the roll your owns from Casascius...at one point I had 50 of those things. I thought it would be cool to make one a keychain. I have since sold the others. Its very hard to drill through or clean up...the 5BTC coins are brass covered in nickel.

So unfortunately I put the hole in this one a while back. But I figured why not do something creative with it? Give it to your girl-every other bitcoiner will be jealous. Its on an 18'' 925 chain. Taking offers.

You guys must have A LOT of time on your hands (or developed some contraption to filter out the pre-'83s, which would also take a ton of time). I always find these listings funny (they're all over eBay). To the person that said its irrelevant that you can't melt them down, they're still bullion...WRONG. They're a penny. They are worth 1 cent. All I saw on the first page was IF. Copper bullion is worth peanuts anyway. My solution: have a cigar box and chuck your pre-'83 pennies in there. By the time copper is worth anything (if that happens in our lifetime) you will have more than 10,000 pennies. Doesn't it just seem illogical to anyone to pay more than face value for something that is (don't be mistaken...and I don't listen to "ifs") legal tender?
I'm sorry to knock you here and don't want to come off as a troll...but seriously?
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help w/Creating Vanity Address? on: January 19, 2014, 11:59:00 PM
Yes, but you will need a good video card (preferably with an AMD chipset) -- the software if called "vanitygen":
https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen

More details here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.0

Please note that a 6-character address could potentially take a very long time to "generate", up to weeks depending on what hardware you have available.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was that involved. I'll just generate like 1,000 keypairs on bitaddress and see if I find any good ones lol.

199  Economy / Goods / Carefully Redeemed Casascius Coin [Sell For Literally HUNDREDS on eBay] on: January 15, 2014, 02:52:11 AM
Hey everybody,
I have been selling redeemed Casascius coins on eBay for a while. Ever since Casascius stopped producing them, they have sold for RIDICULOUS prices (I'll let the links do the talking). What I do is sell them as reloadable OR a collectable (customer decides). Either way, they go out with a case, a security hologram, and instructions on how to reload.
This PARTICULAR coin I redeemed-and did it ever so carefully. At first glance it looks unredeemed. People on eBay will eat that up! They love anything and everything bitcoin-and will [over]pay for it.

Anyways, I am asking $100 for this coin, the case, the instructions-everything you would need to sell it. I KNOW that is less than I would get if I sold it on eBay (again, check the links). I debated (still am) whether or not to sell it on there myself. But if you would like to turn your BTC into some cash easily, this is your best bet.

Please check the links. And please PM me if interested.

Thanks!

200  Economy / Goods / Re: Stainless steel bitcoin cold storage wallets on: January 15, 2014, 02:02:36 AM
I bought the first PVC bitcoin card I saw for sale on eBay ($3.99 I think). Its nothing special in terms of design but I thought it was a cool thing. There's no way I was going to let them have any access to my private key though, so I generated a keypair at bitaddress.org and just sent them the address. I asked them to send me one of their hologram stickers with the card. I printed a QR of my private key myself (on cardstock) and applied it so the blank side of the QR code was on the adhesive part of the sticker (the QR code itself facing the card).
I think cards like this are an awesome idea-but they present a very obvious security concern. How doesthe BIP 38 security work?
