1182  Other / Off-topic / [WTS] Items for PayPal on: April 06, 2013, 03:30:37 AM
Hi everybody,
I have a PayPal debit card so PayPal money for me is as good as cash. I just graduated and am trying to find a job (and food) at the same time. What I have to offer...5 BTC blanks w/holos to make your own coins, some silver jewelry, some silver coins and plenty of other things that aren't coming to mind right now. Once again, I am seeking PayPal, not Bitcoins.
1183  Economy / Services / Re: I want a job on: April 05, 2013, 09:14:20 AM
thank you very much postcd and Largo.
is there any other  offers?
I don't think the grammar police will hire you.
1184  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking to buy gold 1oz coins in bulk with bitcoins in europe on: April 05, 2013, 09:08:06 AM
Don't 1oz coins usually sell for significantly above spot?

Through dealers, yes apparently. But is the same true for person to person?

Well obviously that and the extent of it is decided by the two parties. But generally an individual can not expect the premium a dealer would.
1185  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Find and Buy me a 1994 North Korean Kim Il Sung 1oz Silver Coin=1 Casascius coin on: April 05, 2013, 09:04:53 AM
Ok, I'm on it.  I'm in Korea and have seen a few coin shops.

Let me know before you buy it-a picture would be great. Be aware, these coins are counterfeited a lot (but mostly in China).
Ok, will definitely take a picture first.  If I actually do see it in a shop I'm betting it won't be flying off the shelf.
Counterfeit as in not silver?  Or Counterfeit as in silver, but fake?  How would you tell if it's a fake or not then?

Both. For one, use a STRONG magnet-silver is not magnetic but other metals commonly used are. As for sound, you should here a high-pitch kind of ring when it [gently] spins on a table and then loses momentum. Plus I assume you are smart and have good common sense. A market isn't going to be seling them by the basketful. Instead, its a real numismatic item and you would usually find it only at coin stores.

Are these coins even allowed to be taken outside of NK?

Uhhh..yeah. North Korea is extremely isolated but they're still a Second-World country. I have a bunch of North Korean stuff.

Not necessarily. It depends what kind of coin, first of all. There are Gold Eagles, Kruggerands, and more generic Gold Buffaloes, etc. Random years in non-mint packaging do go for a premium over spot, but not tremendously.
1189  Economy / Collectibles / Find and Buy me a 1994 North Korean Kim Il Sung 1oz Silver Coin=1 Casascius coin on: April 04, 2013, 11:19:46 PM
Hi,
I have been looking all over the internet for this coin. I only want one in mint condition with the original packaging. If you find and buy me one, I will send you a 1 BTC Casascius Physical Coin (available by invite only now), either Series 2 or Series 3. The coin looks like this:

Message me once you find it before you purchase.

Thanks!

1191  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Tokyo Mauri MK23 BB gun Gas powered -TIME STAMPED- on: April 04, 2013, 10:28:43 PM
This brings back memories. I used to have HUGE airsoft wars with my friends. I had a full metal Thompson M1A1 AEG with a gas Colt 1911 as my sidearm (World War 2 Style). SOO much fun. Beat the shit out of paintballing.

Speaking of that, I *might* be interested, but the asking price seems a bit high. I found this: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_Tokyo_Marui_Tokyo_Marui_MK23_SOCOM_Fixed_Slide_Full_Set.htm
It looks like the same thing, and it costs less...
1192  Economy / Goods / Bitcoins Up, Silver Down=Time to Buy Silver! (2oz 925+ Ingot @ Spot) on: April 04, 2013, 02:24:38 AM
Bitcoins are up, silver is down. So, nows the time to buy some silver! I have up for sale a 2 oz Silver Ingot made of 925 Silver. I made it myself. I melted down scrap 925 jewelry and added .999 shot to ensure purity, so we'll call the bar 925+. So, we have 1.85 ozt of PURE Silver here. I am asking for the bar, which includes trackable shipping to anywhere in the US.

Thanks!

1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I buy BTC or mine LTC? on: April 03, 2013, 01:51:09 AM
I don't have much confidence in the altcoin movement. Increases in price I believe are based merely on speculation. Bitcoins introduced the world to P2P cryptocurrency, and we're still in the introduction phase. Because of this I don't believe any altcoin will truly be successful (at least CLOSE to the level that BTC are).
1197  Economy / Economics / Re: The "Casascius Factor" on: April 03, 2013, 01:46:41 AM
Of course we won't see returns in multiples. Nobody wants a piece of brass that much, no matter whats on it. But I believe Casascius coins will always carry a nice premium. Think of it like silver shot (which is just raw silver in small, pellet form) vs. a proof Silver Eagle. Essentially they have the same value, but one is more aesthetically and otherwise pleasing, so people are willing to pay more for it.
1198  Economy / Economics / Does Anyone Else Find it Ironic That We Express the Value of Bitcoins in Fiat? on: April 03, 2013, 01:30:53 AM
It seems the standard to measure the value of a bitcoin at any given point is fiat currency. Bitcoin by nature is overwhelmingly anti-fiat. I suppose measuring it in terms of fiat is most practical but it still seems ironic. It may not be the most practical though, considering the volatility of fiat. The dollar is inflating. I made a trip to Mexico the other day, as I frequently do, and the exchange rate went from 12 pesos/$1 to 11.4 pesos/$1. I suppose its unrealistic for exchanges to represent value in terms of gold or something like that, but can anyone think of any alternative?

Edit: For example, it was a bigger deal to me when it became you could buy 2 ounces of silver with a bitcoin as opposed to when the bitcoin broke $100.
1199  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Gold! on: April 02, 2013, 10:12:10 AM
Hi,
I would like to purchase a small amount of gold (1/10-1/4ozt). I would like most is a national 1/10 gold coin. If you have an old gold coin (by that I mean like 1800's-1950) I would be even more interested. Depending on the form, I understand it carries a premium. I would like to pay spot, and based on the form/condition of the gold, its premium. I also like graded and slabbed gold coins. Finally, I know there is Coinabul (if its still in operation) Amagi Metals and I'm sure plenty of other sites/people who would accept bitcoins for gold. So, I'm looking for the best offer! Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks!

Its kind of obnoxious to tell someone not to post on their thead, when the comment is relevant. You've seen it. People have to "checkz' eachother, make sure its not a scam. etc

This ^^

When there is an auction you cannot tell ppl that some anon member made a bigger offer. It indicates a scam to get the price higher.
Im not interested in this one, but all the auctions lately here are like this "an anon member made a higher offer"

It cannot be valid if he does not post in thread
So till now there is no valid bid in thread
Exactly. People might seem harsh/mean but thats just because no one wants this forum to turn into a big pile of crap. Peer editing, you could call it.
