1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is my plan. on: December 27, 2023, 09:45:38 AM
I am still here to gather little knowledge about Bitcoin, I don't need enough knowledge, I can invest while learning Bitcoin, but the thing there is I am shuffling my self, so I will not be tangled while I am accumulating Bitcoin, I have come up with a plan of using the DCA method to accumulate a $50 monthly, my monthly payment from my job is $300, if my expenses will collect up $100 then $50 can be kept in crypto (Bitcoin) and another $100 for emergency funds then the remaining $50 can also be kept for personal things. Now is the best time to buy Bitcoin, I am not in a hurry to start investing Bitcoin, when the time comes for me to invest nothing will stop me to invest in BTC, as Bitcoin is not something I will start today and get rich tomorrow that is why I don't want to rush in to it. I will use electrum Bitcoin wallet to save my coins because I have learned so far that the electrum wallet is a safe wallet for any investors that what to hold Bitcoin for long, so I will be using it to hold my coins when I buy some Bitcoin, I will update when I buy my first BTC.
The amount you invest in Bitcoin is entirely up to you. But in terms of investment you have made a very reasonable plan to invest by following the DCA method. Investing Bitcoin in DCA method is the best investment method. But if you have adopted electron wallet as safe to hold investment then you must keep seed phrase of electrim wallet very safe for sure. If you can keep the wallet seed phrase safe then your investment will be the safest.
Well, there is no way anyone can say the DCA style of investment is not good, but in fairness, at times, it is such that is not easy to practice, and again, it is not a must that someone DCA, it all has to do with the market situation, the conviction of the trader, the money at hand and the expected money (including the frequency of getting it). Take for instance, if the market is at a low level that is convincing enough, there is no need to think twice, just put in all the money and wait for the outcome. After all, you didn't buy it at an expensive amount, so it is a very good bargain. This was what happened with altcoins months ago, anyone who is wise will just commit their money to them at once without thinking twice, you can see what is happening with altcoins now, that is the risk one should be willing to take at a very low price.

The same thing goes for the bullish market for those who can read the chart very well, if you've gotten to that stage, committing your money to the market at once will not be an issue too. But for those who have missed out a lot and the market is at a somewhat high level, yet, they need DCA so that they do not buy all at a too-expensive level, Who knows if the coin can still retrace much to buy at some reasonable level? That is where DCA is most effective. But guess what? I hardly follow DCA strictly, I am too versatile for that.
DCA mitigates risk, therefore calling it inflexible is unfair. All-in on altcoins on a perceived low is high-stakes gambling, not investing. It may pay off, but what if the market falls further? No safety net in your strategy.

Furthermore, your method implies flawless market timing - a dangerous fantasy. Market predictions arent accurate even for experts. DCA excels at prudent-not  "versatile", which is its specialty. It reduces market volatility, making investing easier for non-chartists. Altcoins are appealing, but Bitcoin is the foundation of any crypto portfolio. Its durability and acceptance as "digital gold" make it a safer long-term bet. DCA in Bitcoin? Thats solid strategy.
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 27, 2023, 09:10:16 AM
The fact remains that, nobody that is poor or average in terms of their financial status, will want to hold their bitcoins forever, the poor and average people buying bitcoin today are doing so that in the future, they will sell it at a higher price and make good profit.
So, going by this, I would say that, If for example, that I am poor or average in my financial status, which automatically means that, I must have being investing in bitcoin, so that, in the future, I will sell it and make more money, possibly enough to change my financial status from being poor and middle class to being extremely rich and wealthy.
So yeah, what will be the essence of still holding bitcoin if and when an opportunity that will help fulfill that life long dream of mine presents itself?

I can't hodl by bitcoin simply because I don't want the next buyer to make profit, that is greed and selfishness at its highest order.
So, I will sell, as long as I am very comfortable and satisfied with the price I am being offered for it, there are alot of other stuffs to invest in and make even more money, and I definitely need money to carry out such investments.
Yes, Bitcoin offers a unique path to financial success. However, your strategy lacks long-term vision. Bitcoin is a hedge against inflation and a symbol of resistance to existing financial institutions. Quick selling devalues these principles. I understand: instant rewards are attractive, especially when financial stability is at stake. Dont underestimate Bitcoin's resiliency and growth potential. This is a movement, not just an investment. Holding is about redefining financial independence, not just personal gain.

In addition to diversification, game-changing opportunities must be identified. Bitcoin is a pledge to a fairer financial future, not merely an investment. By holding, you're betting Bitcoin's value will go beyond money. Think big and your financial story could change.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 26, 2023, 04:31:26 PM
Yes, some may think that gambling is work is wrong while others may have a different point of view. I think as long as you can balance between the office work and gambling, and the office work is not compromised because of your gambling, then it may be on to gamble at work.
Yes, now everything is much simpler than before. Every person has a smartphone with Internet access. So what's the problem with spinning slots during your lunch break? Even and not only during vacation. )) But this kind of thing already looks like a gaming addiction. Everyone, of course, makes their own decision.

But why should your work colleagues know about this? There may be some very unpleasant rumors that will reach the authorities. Some companies have a very negative attitude towards such hobbies.

If this is a big deal with the company, this should not be done. Gambling during at work can be easily violated if the company doesn't have the internal control to prevent this from happening. I think they should implement such control effectively since some of their employees might be tempted in gambling. And they can't assume that there employees don't gamble since no one would say they gamble just to be hired for the job, but in reality, they are actually gambling.

Although we can say that the control is on us employees, but a company has interest to protect, if their people make mistakes in doing their job due to lack of concentration, that will affect the company as a whole, so prevention is always better as the potential problem is already seen.

I think all companies will never allow their employees to do other activities during working hours, let alone being involved in gambling or what I mean by the  activity they do is gambling during working hours, and it is clear that that will cause quite significant problems. Firstly, they lose concentration  on their main job because their minds are diverted to gambling, and secondly, it is very possible that they are not in the mood to continue working when the results of their gambling disappoint them and make them annoyed. Basically, it is difficult to regulate people to follow the rules if it is just a theory, and one thing that companies  can do to minimize this from happening is to implement full supervision while work activities are in progress, or for example installing CCTV in various corners, of course. It can make gamblers not dare to do other activities during working hours, especially gambling.

As I said above, it is difficult to control other people for companies, especially employees who work and you have also said that companies cannot easily assume that all their employees do not gamble, but the possibility is always there. So I think all of this comes back to the strictness with which existing regulations are applied in the company.
Your claim that firms must use CCTV to reduce gambling is extreme. Gambling at work is bad, but are we overestimating it? People usually distinguish work from personal indulgences. The belief that employees are always gambling hinders confidence in the workplace. In addition, human psychology. Micromanagement and surveillance may not discourage gamblers. They may indulge more discreetly. Shouldnt a workplace culture promote focus and job happiness rather than surveillance? You noted the challenge of governing individuals. However, we're talking about grownups, not kids. Respect and accountability resonate. Companies might reward outstanding work to keep staff interested and dedicated instead of assuming the worst.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 26, 2023, 04:11:03 PM
Just trying to get the communities opinion based on their experience about the topic.

Personally, a a bettor, I find it very stressful when watching the game you are betting especially if it will end up a losing bet.

If we have the same experience, how do you cope up with that problem, after all, gambling should be fun but why we have this kind of feeling that we feel disappointed when our bet loses?

This is a cool topic as I had this discussion in real life a couple of times and I am happy to chime in here.

I personally think that watching the games you bet on is a lot more fun. It is a bit like having drink at a party to feel the night more intensively and involved. Sure it isn't quite as relaxed if you bet an amount that hurts when lost, but I mean this is different discussion. Like don't bet more than you can afford to lose bla bla. But if you choose a bet size that you are ok with losing, the thrill during the game feels more intense.

I think whenever there is skin in the game, everything feels more intense. If you play table tennis against a friend for 50 bucks, the game feels not the same as if you were playing for nothing. Skin in the game makes a big difference and it is up to you to choose how thick your skin in the game should be. Don't exaggerate and I think betting can be a cool booster for the experience when you also watch the game. It's most fun when friends are around and some of them have placed their bets on different outcomes! Wink
Indeed, "skin in the game" intensifies any activity, especially sports betting. Gaining or losing something increases our emotional and cognitive engagement. This intensity should be enjoyable, not alarming. For mental health, this distinction is essential. However, we must be careful. Gambling can be addicting, causing risky behaviour. Responsible gambling and self-regulation are essential. Always remember: betting is enjoyment, not a necessity. We bet for fun, not to make up for something. Group betting might be exciting due to its social side. This must not lead to peer pressure or irresponsible betting. Betting should be a fun sidekick to enjoying the game and company.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 26, 2023, 03:53:50 PM
Lack of self-regulation, not gambling, is the problem. Gambling offers excitement, escapism, and financial benefit. Lost control turns gambling from a hobby to a problem. Many people disagree with your claim that quitting gambling is easy. Gambling helps some cope with stress and sadness. This psychological aspect cannot be ignored. In addition to "not having money to gamble", one must understand why they feel compelled to wager.

You also ignore habituation. Gambling can become established like any other habit. This behaviour demands self-control, support, awareness, and often professional help to break. Gambling addiction and human psychology are complex, so saying its self-control is simplistic.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: December 26, 2023, 03:36:39 PM
This happens unnoticed during the game. The player himself will not be able to understand exactly when the line between entertainment in gambling and real family life is blurred. Therefore, this needs to be very strictly controlled. The stakes are too high, but usually no one thinks about this, but rather thinks about game strategies, odds, potential winnings and who to borrow money from next time. If a player’s head constantly thinks about such things 24/7, then his family will leave him sooner or later and it will be almost impossible to get her back. It’s better not to let things get to that point and try to control yourself. After all, if we lose our family, then ultimately we may lose ourselves.
That's a problem often faced by gamblers. They often exceed their limits in gambling, causing disturbances to them and their families. Whether this is due to the use of money that exceeds the limit or the length of time, they gamble and don't do anything else.

And playing gambling for too long really makes a person forget about time. They have too much fun gambling even though they have other activities. Especially if they have to fulfill their living needs by working, and they are also often late in doing something because they are still gambling.

If he is the head of the household who is required to work but instead chooses to gamble frequently, he could run out of money for his family. That was if he couldn't allocate some money for gambling. And that has happened a lot in society.
The player thinks that in gambling he will win money that will help him avoid problems or quit a job that he does not like. In the player’s mind, after a huge win, you can do whatever you want, please your wife with expensive gifts or a vacation near the sea. In reality, much more often the opposite happens. To pay off debts, you will have to work more than usual and your wife will leave so as not to participate in the player’s problems. It turns out that it is better to appreciate what you have and not chase the illusion, otherwise you may be left with nothing.

There are other cases. Sometimes a wife can immediately notice that her husband (player) has changed, and immediately understand everything. After this, she will take tough measures and will not allow her husband to continue losing money from the family budget. But there is a downside, she won’t be able to be with him all the time and if he wants to play, he will always find a place and time for this.
Gambling, as a fantasy of rapid riches, generally fails! The Truth: the house always wins. Gambling to fix life's problems is absurd, like expecting a cyclone to clean your house. The erroneous attitude behind this behaviour must be recognised. Unrealistic optimism about a lucky break is perilous. Not a strategy, but an escape.

In relationships, a vigilant spouse may seem helpful, but its just a bandage. She may stop the financial bleeding, but what about trust, respect, autonomy? These are casualties too. Partner control doesnt replace personal accountability. Gamblers must face their demons or continue gambling.

Consider the big picture. Gambling addiction reflects unhappiness and cries for help. Not only money, but fulfilment, self-worth, meaning. Holistic well-being, not simply financial literacy, is the solution. We must develop resilience, purpose, and life happiness.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 26, 2023, 03:14:05 PM
I think both teams can score. Aston Villa are in very good form at the moment but it won't be easy to come back with a win at United's ground, I think the match will be a draw.
Manchester United easily records defeats on their ground this season. Remember, Newcastle United thrashed the Red Devils at Old Trafford 3 nil in the carabao cup, Bournemouth thrashed them 3-0 in EPL round and it was also in Old Trafford,  Manchester City nailed them 3-0 at the same Old Trafford and Brighton & Hove Albion humbled them 3-1 at Old Trafford, no regards at all for the Red Devils at Old Trafford. Nothing connects draw because Aston Villa comes for winning and same with Manchester United but they don't have the capacity to held Unai Emery and his firing squad.
Seriously, Manchester United at Old Trafford this season? Like guests in their own home. Losses are building up, making them nearly predictable. Rashford's performance is the cherry on top of a bad cake. Two goals in 22 games? You wouldnt expect that from the next great thing. Another team, Aston Villa, tramples big teams like its their job. At this moment, I wouldnt bet on United winning their next game. Benching underperforming players is the first step in a major overhaul. United was a fortress at Old Trafford, but today visiting teams can party there.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 26, 2023, 02:52:09 PM
Roma performed very well after some bad results in the previous match. They have managed to get into 6th position and maybe they will continue to improve their ranking. I saw that in the previous two seasons they were always only able to appear in the UEFA European competition, so hopefully this positive result can enable Roma to appear in the Champions League next season.
In the next match, Roma will face Juventus, and this is a nightmare for Roma because, so far, Juventus has a very solid and strong team. Of course, Roma will have difficulty facing Juventus' strength. Roma must continue to play by controlling their emotions because, in the previous match, Roma looked full of emotion and often received violations.
Roma's showdown versus Juventus worries me. Juventus' season has been excellent, as everyone knows. They have remarkable tactical versatility, making them a tough opponent for anyone, let alone an impassioned Roma squad. Playing emotionally might be risky. Roma has employed emotional provocation successfully under Mourinho, as seen against Napoli. But against Juventus, known for their strategic prowess and calm heads, this may not work. Roma might surprise us if they stay calm, but itll be tough.

Despite their goal-scoring struggles, Juventus has remained a competitive rival. Allegri's ability to keep beating opponents despite a tight margin speaks much. They're best at balancing and adapting, not scoring lots of goals. Roma fears facing a strategically sound team. Matching Juventus's tactical style requires more than emotional play - they need a solid, well-thought-out strategy.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 26, 2023, 02:29:47 PM
The progress that has occurred while Xabi has been at Leverkusen has indeed made a lot of progress at the club. And this season is their best season in performance, in fact their performance is almost perfect. Currently, Leverkusen can be said to be a club that is very on fire and can also make changes in the Bundesliga over the dominance of Bayern. Yes, although we still don't know whether Bayern Munich will soon take over Leverkusen or not. because unfortunately, there are rumors that Xabi and Real Madrid have reached a personal agreement. but whether this will come true or not. If so, then of course this will have a big influence on Leverkusen.

It seems that everything is just a rumor that is not yet clear because there has been no official statement from Xabi or Madrid. But if they have agreed, of course Xabi must give the best results. At least Xabi can give good memories with the Bundesliga champions.
I think Leverkusen will also immediately look for other coaching options to prepare if Xabi leaves. Because they also don't want to keep Xabi. There is no clause of any agreement, but it seems that Leverkusen supports Xabi to develop. Leverkusen will provide a clear door and discussion if Xabi moves.
Not convinced by these rumours regarding Xabi joining Real Madrid. Until an announcement, its speculation. Given Xabi's Leverkusen contract's specific clause that allows an early termination if Real Madrid comes calling, its not impossible. Based on his recent performance, Real Madrid may be considering Xabi to replace Ancelotti.

Leverkusen appears realistic about keeping Xabi. They're probably considering other coaches. Given their current success, Xabi could lead them to a trophy this season, a fitting departure. I dont think Xabi is Key to Leverkusen's success. They've got a good team and can succeed after him.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 26, 2023, 02:12:19 PM
Barcelona won the La Liga last season but with the way they are performing this season, nothing good can be expected from them this season as well. They lack a great finisher and have considerable weaknesses in their defense as well. They enter the field with the same strategy to catch every match. To do well in major tournaments, Barcelona must work on their weaknesses as well as change their tactics, only then will they be able to do well. Barcelona is a big name for those of us who follow La Liga regularly and we always have a bit higher expectations for Barcelona but currently Barcelona are not able to perform to our expectations at all.
I agree with you,  Barcelona won the last season La liga beating even stronger team's like Real Madrid to top the league,  which was a good performance and to keep to that trends,  there is a need to further ride on the record and performance better than the last season,  but truly this season,  Barcelona have not really shown any level pf consistency in their performance and in the last few matches,  it has become clear that the club is struggling in this season much more than the last season when their we're able to win the league title.

Most of the time,  is either they play draw game or even lose to their opponents in this season.
Im scared about Barcelona's season. Last year, their emphasis on La Liga paid off, but this year, their Champions League goals seem to be stretching them. Due to this, their La Liga performance has suffered. The team's fluctuating outcomes reflect its divided energy and resources. Do they sacrifice domestic performance for European glory?

They should balance, in my opinion. Barcelona must meet high standards due to its La Liga and Champions League heritage. Managing these competitions is difficult, but a top club can do it. Strategy and prioritisation are needed, but they have the skill.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2023, 01:55:41 PM
Premier league financial situation is not an easy one at all to manage. First of all, the whole world knows that they are making a ton of money, so they ask more money from them, like lets say you are a team that is midtable at serie A and you have a player, you ask 70 million euro from United, whereas you ask for 30 million at most from Juventus, why? Because you know United or City can pay that, premier league is a rich league. This looks like a good thing for premier league teams, they do have a lot of money, and a big budget but the reality is that if you make a mistake then how can you recover? I mean making 80-90 million euro worth mistakes are not easy to get rid of, and that's what causes them to get worse and worse over time.
Financial dynamics in the Premier League seriously hurt clubs. Due of the league's affluence, everyone expects them to spend big. This puts United and City under pressure to pay inflated costs, such as 70 million euros for a Serie A player who would cost considerably less. A double-edged sword. They have the money, but one mistake, say an 80-90 million euro mistake, might be disastrous. Clubs cant ignore losses. It's about smart, sustainable investments, not just large dollars.

Other leagues are affected by the ripple effect. The Premier League dominates investment attention, therefore clubs in Serie A and La Liga are routinely overlooked. This mismatch affects clubs and the football environment. Example: Barcelona, mired in debt. Global football clubs' finances are at stake. The football community should prioritise long-term sustainability over short-term profits.
1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 26, 2023, 01:33:41 PM
Monaco is going to face reims which is a bad thing for monaco. Im not doubting monaco to win the game but since reims is still performing so well and i think that the chance to steal 1 point from monaco will be there. Monaco must have won the game or the game is going to be even bigger.
Im being very skeptical to the monaco at this moment. PSG is going to face an a hard team which is giving no guarantee for the bettors to get easy money. Lens is considerably strong as a french league and this club potentially make PSG to lose some points.

The fact that Monaco and PSG are going up against formidable teams in the French league is causing detrimental effects on the clubs as they will be subjected to immense pressure. I meant that if PSG is still in the good shape right now and the chance to beat lens is very big.
Multibet bettors are going to face hure risk to get their bet collapse. If you want to increase your chances, taking the double chance is the only best approach for this match. It's caused by this will be also helping the bettors to get more chance to win the game.
You're right about Monaco-Reims. Monaco is dominating this season. They're like the popular high school quarterback. We shouldnt kid ourselves - Reims is tough. The scrappy underdog with bite. Their last match versus Monaco was a nail-biter! Even with Monaco down a player, Reims couldnt score. It demonstrated Monaco's toughness and gave me hope for Reims. I still favour Monaco. Even though they struggled at home, they've been in great form. Games like these are risky for bettors. Those seeking a guaranteed bet may be nervous this round.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 26, 2023, 01:16:13 PM

Atletico Madrid did wonders in their last game to take over the 3rd position from Barcelona and, it really show how weak Barcelona are in this season because they were toping the la Liga league table through out last season to win the battle to lift the trophy that made many of their players became popular in the whole world.
Atletico Madrid managed to close the distance and shift Barcelona position, which was previously ranked third in the standings, the narrow victory over Sevilla and also the impact of Barcelona defeat in Week 18, at least for the time being, made Atletico fans happy, even though they are now still 7 points behind Madrid which at the top of the standings but I think there is still a chance for Atletico Madrid to enter the championship competition if they can remain consistent, but among the 20 clubs currently available, Girona surprised me and I didn't even think that they could be in second place until week18th at the moment, it would be quite surprising if Girona could compete with Madrid until the end of the season in the race for champions.
I see your point on Atletico Madrid. They're definitely improving. Barca's lapse has opened a door for them. How about Girona - what a story? Climbing to second is difficult. They appeared suddenly, and now everyone is watching them.

Cautionary optimism about Atletico's possibilities. Of course they're skilled. But man, consistency is crucial in this game, so they must focus on that. Do not forget the Girona match. A big test awaits them. Girona's surprising season shows they're no pushover. Im here for it.

Madrid is usually difficult to beat. They somehow win games in the final minutes, like that one against Alaves. So Atletico's got it tough.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: December 26, 2023, 12:58:54 PM
~snip~

Aiming for bigger earnings, yes, it can be one of those many reasons why a gambler wanted to keep playing after a win that happened to his bet. Most of the time, the misconception that winning is always possible. If you just repeat the strategy that you use, or something like, by luck, you'll be able to continuously win from time to time.

After being dominated by greed, the condition of that person will be at risk, the chance that he will play more and with a longer time frame and higher stake in terms of bankrolls, all begins with experiencing the win that he aimed.
They don't think about luck and they don't think about losing after winning, and of course there is ambition with the belief that they will be able to produce another win in the next bet.
I know that feeling confident in your abilities is good attitude and of course this will have an impact on the belief that they have chance of winning, but on the other hand there is perception that deviates from this trust or belief.
Wise gamblers always believe and believe in their abilities but also have an attitude of accepting all the risks and outcomes of gambling, unfortunately not many gamblers can have this kind of attitude because they are already in an abnormal way of thinking about gambling.
And it true that the only thing that will happen is greed which always triggers the desire to win and win but they don't have that chance they can't repeat the same luck.
When defeat occurs after win there will be an attitude of not being able to accept the defeat which leads to efforts to recover the loss and of course it becomes bigger, they lose more money and it does not meet expectations.
This is series of mistakes that always happen and are very sad.
The trap of overconfidence in gambling is a perilous path. I see it; the fallacy of control, where gamblers believe they can master chance. Its a delusion! Real skill in gambling isnt just about winning; its about knowing when to stop. Wise gamblers? They're rare. They understand the brutal truth: gambling is not a skill game; its a game of chance, period.

But here's where they go wrong: they ignore the reality of randomness. Every bet is independent; past wins dont predict future successes. Its basic probability, yet they fall prey to the gambler's fallacy, thinking they can beat the odds. Its not about ability; its about luck, and luck doesnt bend to anyone's will.

And when loss hits, denial kicks in. They chase losses, spiraling into more debt. Its not just sad; its a cycle of self-destruction. They need to wake up! Recognize gambling for what it is: a game of pure chance, not a measure of skill or worth.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 12:36:44 PM
From the OP's story, the person only wanted to gamble and didn't want to cause any trouble, so the officers felt safe as long as the person was gambling with their own money. Moreover, there are no rules whatsoever that prohibit someone in shabby clothes from coming to an offline casino, it's just that it might make you uncomfortable other people see it. In my opinion, not everyone who dresses shabbily is someone who has a mental disorder and it could be that this person is a gambler who is addicted so he doesn't have time to take care of his clothes and take care of his cleanliness, he is just trying to get money to continue gambling, hoping that one day he will get lucky the big one.

If someone is clearly seen having a mental disorder and is causing trouble, officers will definitely take action and try to evict the person, because it is impossible for workers at the casino to just watch a person with a mental disorder enter the casino, which will make the customers uncomfortable. So in conclusion, as long as the gambler still has enough money just to gamble, I don't think it's a big problem, after all it will increase the profits of the casino itself.
Yes, that means the casino can accept someone in shabby clothes to come and gamble in the casino. Based on what has been said, the guy didn't make a scene in his casino, so the officers didn't mind if he gambled. Moreover, after gambling, he will leave the casino straight away without making a fuss about other people who are also in the casino and gambling. Unless the person often disturbs other players and makes a fuss, perhaps the officers will no longer allow him to gamble at the casino. Not all people who dress shabbily indeed have mental disorders because there could be people who dress shabbily. But he turns out to be a millionaire who gambles and doesn't want anyone to recognize him in gambling so he decides to dress shabbily. The important thing is that everything will be fine if the person doesn't disturb other players.

The officers at the casino must have recognized the people who were their regular customers because that was their job. And I think there are even people who dress neatly but often disturb people who are gambling and the officers have to be firm with them and will not allow them to return to gambling at the casino. Anyone can come to the casino as long as they are old enough to gamble and not disturb other people. The officers who work at the casino look after this because they also want to avoid any problems while they work there.
Its shallow to determine a gambler's worth or intentions by their clothes. Although behaviour matters more than clothes, the casino's non-discriminatory attire code is admirable. Here, society's distorted reliance on appearances is evident.

Officers are essential to a healthy gambling environment. They must be vigilant for unruly customers regardless of outfit. Conduct matters, not clothes. As someone familiar with gaming dynamics, I think this approach is vital to a courteous, fun gambling environment.

Finally, the idea that shabby-dressed people could be wealthy defies prejudices. Remember that appearances can be deceiving, so never underestimate anybody solely on their appearance. This perspective enhances our awareness of human variation and life's unpredictability.
1416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 26, 2023, 12:12:48 PM
As long as Bitcoin remains decentralized, the government can't stop its growth and market adoption. But when it talks about as a currency, that is still something uncertain and why? Whether we like it or not, the participation of the government becomes a major factor for its consideration. It didn't look good really but people got their trust when Bitcoin is officially declared as a legal tender in a particular place or a country. This is why I could say that the future of Bitcoin lies somehow in government support or overview otherwise, that will remain as an investment, not currency.

Has Bitcoin needed the support of the government to get to where it is today, the answer is no because Bitcoin didn't need the government instead the governments are  looking for a way to regulate the industry in all countries. Few days ago Nigeria lifted it's ban on banks engage with cryptocurrency related activities and other countries are reducing their restriction on cryptocurrency and looking for a way they can regulate the industry.

Bitcoin don't need the government but the government needs Bitcoin because they know soon things won't be done the traditional way anymore but everything will be going digital.

Bitcoin doesn't need the governments to become a globally accepted currency but the government need Bitcoin so they won't be left out. Bitcoin is getting the world attention and soon Bitcoin will be accepted globally as an alternative to fiats for transaction which is what Bitcoin missions from the very begining was all about as it was introduced as a better alternative to fiats currency.
Absolutely, Bitcoin's rise to prominence didnt depend on government support; its an undeniable fact. As they catch up, governments control what they initially ignored. The Nigeria case is just the beginning. Governments are recognising Bitcoin's eventual dominance in a digital-first economy, not legitimising it.

I believe Bitcoin's global acceptance is a paradigm leap in financial autonomy, not just a replacement for money. Countries need Bitcoin, not vice versa. They realise they must change or die. Bitcoin's disruptive power is shown by its regulatory scurry.

Bitcoin was created to give a decentralised financial alternative. Its leading the world into a new economic era, and governments must adapt. Bitcoin is the future, and the future is now.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 26, 2023, 11:50:31 AM

If the person I am referring to had not gambled in online casinos and invested this amount of money in bitcoins, he would have made a substantial half profit today, even after paying off his debts.  If he had bought 1 BTC and sold it now when the price of Bitcoin was twenty thousand dollars, he would have made a profit of about 25K dollars even though he had paid a loan of 18K dollars. The reason for sharing this incident of my local elder brother is to warn users about the dangers of gambling.

I don't owe you $18K so we may not understand it but the one I shared with understands how heavy the burden of debt is.

Honestly, if he had invested in bitcoin, he should have been in good profit by now, but the truth is that not everyone knows about bitcoin investment; many people are just hearing about it, but I don't think they know about it as a good investment.

And again, gambling is a temptation. Someone cannot easily say this is how much they want to gamble, and when it reaches that certain amount, they will stop. Gambling is hard to control because it always comes with the hope that you will later win, especially when someone is addicted. I believe this $18k the person is owing; he did borrow it at once. I believe he was borrowing it gradually, thinking that it may recover its losses until it reaches this $18k.

I can't really say, but even if this type of person is in the cryptocurrency industry, they will still likely suffer losses like that kind of amount in gambling to scammers because of their aim of making it quickly. If not even in gambling, if some are not eager to make quick money, they cannot continue to waste that kind of money in gambling through borrowing.
Bitcoin investing is not as easy to learn about gambling as it is about gambling. While watching videos on Facebook or YouTube, it is now easy to come across tempting gambling ads and it is difficult to resist the temptation. Gambling in Bangladesh is illegal and Bangladesh is considered as a predominantly Muslim country and gambling is completely haram according to Muslim customs but still people are not deterred from gambling. If the person who got 18000 dollars in debt by gambling was asked to invest, I think he would have considered gambling more acceptable than investing because he has seen several times the profit of gambling in YouTube or various Facebook videos. If you cannot control your greed, it is not possible to get out of such gambling addiction.
Comparing Bitcoin investment to gambling is oversimplified. Risks are shared, but thats it. Investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency involves strategy, market knowledge, and technology. Its about informed choices, not luck.

Social media ads' promises of instant gambling riches are risky. It exploits greed by promising easy fortune. In contrast, Bitcoin investing requires patience, discipline, and long-term thinking. Gambling's quick enjoyment traps people into financial disaster, as witnessed with the debtor.

We must educate and empower. We must educate people about Bitcoin and financial strategies. Financial literacy, knowing risks, and making decisions that reflect values and long-term goals are key. Dont demonise Bitcoin because of a few misguided people.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Too Expensive For Me. on: December 26, 2023, 11:02:57 AM
The value of Bitcoin has gradually reached great heights. It has become impossible for a new small investor like me to invest in Bitcoin. I am a very small investor. $2k wealth is mine. Well does Bitcoin provide any opportunity in future that I can invest.
Investing in bitcoin doesn’t necessarily mean you should buy a full bitcoin before investing in it, you can buy bitcoin gradually and accumulate bitcoin bit by bit and before you know you would have accumulated enough bitcoin. Majority of people don’t have such amount to buy bitcoin but they are able to own a fraction of it by adopting a strategy known as the DCA strategy, this strategy makes it possible for the less privileged who can’t afford a full bitcoin to accumulate BTC by investing an amount they can afford gradually and after a while they are able to own a reasonable amount of bitcoin so it doesn’t matter how much you start with all that matters is that you keep accumulating.

Investing $2k into bitcoin is not a bad way to start as there are lots of people who don’t hold that much bitcoin, ig is a small amount but you can as well adopt the DCA strategy and keep accumulating more bitcoin at your own convenience and in no time you would have amassed enough bitcoins. With the upcoming bullish market by the corner bitcoin will provide lots of opportunities and we could see even higher price during this time so you should invest when you have the chance so you don’t risk investing at a higher price.
Your Bitcoin investment advice is precise, absolutely. Strategic, gradual accumulation is investing, not a fortune upfront. DCA isnt simply a tactic; its a financial lifeline for everyday people. Why? It democratises Bitcoin investment. Start with a small quantity and invest it regularly to increase. Consider: tiny drops form an ocean!

In many people's eyes, $2K is more than a "small" start. Crypto's base is robust. With the bullish market approaching, time is crucial. We're investing and seizing an opportunity! Growth potential is huge, so we should start now. Patience is your most profitable asset in Bitcoin. Jump in, stack those sats, and watch our digital gold rise!
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HODL: what happens to Bitcoin holders during impressive price increase? on: December 26, 2023, 10:52:36 AM
If the Bitcoin spot ETF and halving boost prices, would HODLers hold or sell? To be honest, humans want money. Even ardent believers may sell after huge profits. HODL is an established technique, but its not immune to sudden, large gains.

Please examine the long-term vision. Bitcoin revolutionises financial sovereignty. Short-term gains are tempting, but Bitcoin's actual value is in redefining wealth storage and transfer. We should promote this paradigm shift, not just price rises.

What do I expect? A mix. Some will benefit, but others will HODL because they believe in Bitcoin's transformative ability. They believe in Bitcoin's financial revolution, not simply its value.
1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about long tails? on: December 25, 2023, 05:08:38 PM
You saw a maximum of 8 identical outcomes in your trials, but probability doesnt stop there. This is a sobering reminder that theoretical computations and real-world scenarios often differ greatly. Random events are unpredictable, but your ingenious method overlooked this. I believe that using past results to predict future outcomes in games of chance is risky. Playing longer increases your likelihood of seeing long tails. Understand probability's unpredictability, not only lose money. Even though it was bad, your experience taught you probability and risk management. Online gaming is risky and unpredictable, therefore players must be realistic. Gambling should be fun, not profitable.
