2181  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 19, 2023, 01:51:17 AM
Not really owning a business but as you've said having multiple jobs.

You can be employed with several employers as a freelancer and work with all of them with the same skill that you've got. But to be on this type of situation will require you vast experienes and confidence that you can deliver what the clients are asking you.

For skilled people, specially those that have in demand skills, they're the most desirable in the gig marketplace as they're like the performance/output based jobs.
Surely, skilled people will always have their advantage since they can be well compensated if their employers become satisfied with their performance.
And the employers don't have to spend time and money for trainings because they already know what the job will be. So, it both saves them time and it'll be easy for the new hiree to get onboard by being skilled and experienced.

But I believe even if you got multiple sources of income, as long as you cannot manage your finances well, and you keep on spending on unnecessary items, you will never be stable financially and worst is you may even drown from a debt.
I cannot argue with that because I also believe that financial literacy depends on people. Even if you're the most and highest paid employee but you are financial illiterate, you're going to have hard time in managing your finances and will still end up being unstable.

And someone who doesn't earn that much but are good in budgeting, he'll be able to win against that someone who earns a lot but don't know how to budget.

Because the thing here and reality is that, if you're earning more, your lifestyle is also improving so you have to sustain that.
2182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How real is the winnings? on: January 18, 2023, 11:32:49 PM
Be careful if that's your aim to test them out for the prizes or airdrops that they may give.

There have been reports that in game purchases could be recorded by those and you'll be enticed to do that when they've got some good offers that you can't ignore.

At the same time, as you download and install, it could also be included to the user term agreement that a malware might be attached on it not knowingly you've got it already monitoring all you do in your app and phone.

But I don't think that this has something to do with gambling.
2183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: January 18, 2023, 10:34:19 PM
Update - now 145% up since I started 2 weeks ago thanks to the Shiba Inu pump this morning.

I am now in Gala and waiting for that to pump to close my next trade.

I know the market can crash at anytime but like I said before I am only investing in crypto I am also holding long term so don't feel too much risk.

Had I started with $1000 I would now be up to $2450 which has opened my eyes to trading.
Gala's pump IMHO was already done but, congratulations for having that much gain through shiba. Trading isn't really for everybody because when someone who sees his portfolio go down like 10% on an instant in the day, then that's going to faint his heart.

Well, keep it up and always make good decisions and don't let your emotion do the decision making for you.
2184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 18, 2023, 09:32:51 PM
Greetings, esteemed community. Could you help me advise? I've seen a lot of topics on the forum about crypto or bitcoin casinos, but I need clarification on their point. As I understand the crypto casino involves paying in different cryptocurrencies, and the bitcoin casino involves only bitcoins. How to choose a casino, is there a criterion for this, or do you just go to any casino and play? It's a rash move without preparation. Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? I apologize for my silly questions, but I want to understand everything once and for all.
Hi, welcome to the forum!

For someone who's new to online crypto casinos, one criteria that you should consider is the reputation of the casino where you're about to play. Whether it is a multiple cryptocurrency casino or just a bitcoin-only casino.

What matters is their reputation in the community, I have seen newbies that have been sharing their stories that they've ended up to gamble in an unknown casino and then eventually, when they're about to get their winnings they were denied.

That's one of the situation that someone will face if he's not into reputable casinos and to determine them, go to the Gambling section and read each of their profiles and feed back on the thread themselves.

is it too late to invest in bitcoin?
Do not be surprised if most of us here are going to encourage you to buy bitcoin. You're in a bitcoin forum and majority of us here are bitcoin investors and very optimistic about it. Nope, it's not too late to invest in bitcoin and it's good that you're getting started.

and whether my decision is right or not, to invest in bitcoin?
It's right to buy bitcoin.

Instead of buying some altcoins, you're good starting buying bitcoin and you're a saver so basically you know how to give importance to your money and that's why you've decided to put it into investment, bitcoin.

Don't feel guilty if you start buying it, you're doing the right thing.
2186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 17, 2023, 11:35:18 PM
Taking some actions on DOTA 2 later.

2 out of 3.

These are good bets that you've got there. Well, on the SEA region will have matches later.

Geek slate vs Execration

Talon Esports vs SMG

Bleed Esports vs Boom Esports.

I guess there are folks there that have underestimated Execration because they don't usually gets high on high tier tournaments but they're doing this time.
2187  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 17, 2023, 10:48:14 PM
...
For skilled people, specially those that have in demand skills, they're the most desirable in the gig marketplace as they're like the performance/output based jobs.

Skilled people will find a job more easily, and if their skill is in demand, they will find a well-paid job more easily. But in the end, there are always jobs, more or less paid, for those who want to work and improve. Those who do not want to work will only find excuses.

A side job can improve financial stability but it's exhausting. I combined two or more works when I was younger, but just when I needed more money for some of my plans. The last time when I needed some extra cash was 4-5 years ago... juggling between two jobs and a family (wife and one kid at that time) was physically and mentally difficult, it's a different experience when you simply can't get enough rest, and for sure you can't provide enough attention to your family.

A side job/business can improve financial stability, but it's not something that someone should do for a long time... it consumes a lot of time and energy, and if you overdo it your private life will suffer (your family (wife and especially kids) even more if you have them). I guess we all need some balance in life, it's hard to find it, but it's there.
Yeah, it also depends to the employer.

If the skilled person will be low balled and you're going to accept it then that's on you. But most likely the demand is with them and they're the easiest people that will certainly find a job.

That's why those that don't have a skill yet, it's time to improve your skills and learn something new so that you're going to be bankable and hireable.
2188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 17, 2023, 06:08:04 PM
Handling emotion after loss is difficult; for the past two weeks, I have suspended betting; not because I want to quit totally, but because it is beneficial to take a break and observe how things unfold. I recall that from the beginning of the year to the 9th, I won the majority of my bets, I rolled over even the tickets that were cut earlier than expected, but everything changed when teams I least expected to lose kept ruining my tickets, I also switched from Football to Basketball (NBA and Chinese league but all have not been going well) and I have put a stop until I see that things are getting better, I don't have rules, I just make sure I don't have betting Apps on my device.  Cheesy
This is so true and that's why those that can sleep after being on a losing streak are legends. It's easy for them to just sleep after those losses because the majority will have hard time dealing with it because acceptance won't be easy.

The emotional breakout is there after losing and you can't just move on an instant even if you want to. But yeah, the best move is to just stop even if it's hurting you and wanting to recover badly, you have to do something about it so that you can at least reduce the emotional pain.
2189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: What percent of your portfolio is stored in Bitcoin/Crypto on: January 17, 2023, 12:23:29 PM
Somewhere around 70%-80% now.

I've got encouraged to buy some ETH and that's the portion for the remainder of my entire portfolio. As much as I want to stick with bitcoin, I think that after the pow<->pos movement of ETH its demand is likely to have more.

If my conversion to ETH becomes profitable then it's nowhere to go but going to be back in bitcoin once again.
2190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: January 16, 2023, 09:48:58 PM
we haven't seen any crypto bookie listing this type of entertainment event on their list. though there are some bookies who are listing entertainment events such as golden globe or oscars awards but when it comes to beauty contest, they don't list it. and we already know the reason why. high likely that it only attracts selected few audience and few bettors. so it is just a waste of their resources if this kind of event made it in their list.
I have seen one before but I think that bookie is already out of service and not anymore in the industry.

Anyway, the Miss Universe is done and Miss USA has been crowned to be the reigning queen for this recent event. Those that have seen a bookie and bet for the winner and won, congratulations.

I guess @OP should close this thread as the purpose of it has been served.

We need to own a business if we want to keep becoming capable to pay bills and do other things. We can't rely on a single job to become financially capable, we need multiple jobs or our own business that we can build to become well responsible and business and financially sufficient. The world is becoming more difficult for people to leave and inflation is increasing everyday so we need to be prepared.

Not all casinos that I know of are like that. Maybe that's the policy of that casino where you've been gambling and AFAIK, that sportsbet.com(the one you've mentioned) is different from sportsbet.io that's very popular in the forum.

You've been wagering a lot and you get mad when you've received nothing like $100. Well, I'm thinking two things about it, your anger is valid because you've been loyal to them while the others are just wagering small amount and yet, they've received some bonus.

Who doesn't want to receive bonus? All of us want to.
2193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your best advice/recommendations for a crypto beginner on: January 16, 2023, 02:56:52 PM
What is your recommendation for a beginner?
A continual DYOR (do your own research).

That will save you from the tricksters that has an hidden agenda upon teaching you some things that you may seem to be enticed and not aware that you're being misled to.

Because the market is full of many good and bad things for which a beginner will be totally optimistic of the information that he/she may come to realize how vast it is.

Like those opportunities that will be shared and discovered by DYORing.
2194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 15, 2023, 11:51:07 PM
It isn't a strategy. This has been a practice followed by most gamblers. This succeeds with the lucky ones. When we're making bets against the public, it means we're choosing the high odds. During the world cup we were able to experience few matches that had given good win for the users who made bets against the public.  In the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia, everyone's choice is Argentina and the users who picked against the choice turned to be luckiest.
Yeah, it's more of a choice and not a strategy. But if someone considers it as a strategy then that's still fine, not really a problem to be called as a strategy or a choice.

Those that want to be with such high odds and greater returns, as long as they know what's the chance of winning ability by the underdog then it's not a case that they should skip because many are doing this type of bet.
2195  Economy / Economics / Re: More Money Problems that Bitcoin Solves on: January 15, 2023, 10:45:43 PM
They have learned it but they aren't willing to accept the fact that it can deal with many good things into their government.

Bitcoin isn't really for the government but for the people thus, the government that controls everything we people have, they're intervening in it. It's just a matter of time that they'll act the same as those countries that have adopted bitcoin too.

We'll see them having legislation about acceptance of bitcoin or if they don't have, they are free just to declare that bitcoin isn't illegal on their territories.
2196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 15, 2023, 09:48:12 PM
This is what the beauty of these rumors, despite having no official announcement, everyone is making and giving their opinions on what's good and bad potential outcome for such.

Saying that he wants to stay in the Utah Jazz is just all about words and if that's what really desires to be but with his market value and if it can't be helped then, he'll for sure going to find another team that's willing to give his desired contract not unless he's got the heart to stay for Jazz.

People are even rooting for the Utah Jazz already to participate in the upcoming playoffs because despite of the fact that the team is still rebuilding, they are showing some good signs from having a consistent performance since the season started and still getting some improvement in every games which is quite unexpected from a team that is supposed to be tanking this season. Hopefully, the Jazz can adjust with Clarkson's price for at least a year to see where will this team go.
I've been seeing them in the past seasons but always fell short of glory when it's about the playoffs. Like the start of this season, they're at the top but now they're currently #9.

Still, he has became the franchise player of Utah Jazz so if the management is considering that. They'll have to bear and give the demand of JC if it's still allowable by their budget and limitations.
2197  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Would Anyone Be Against Self Defense? on: January 15, 2023, 08:35:14 PM
In Greece, however, if someone enters your house with a weapon and you hurt him, you will face criminal charges and go through court. Chances are that you'll be cleared of any charges, but the trial may take years, and it's a costly procedure in both time and money. I can't understand why someone would have the desire to render self-defense illegal.
This isn't just for Greece, in some other countries, you'll really be put into court for killing the intruder and anyone who's got into your house that threatened you and your family's safety.

That's how f***ed up the system for many countries. There goes the human rights advocates and activitists that are only just there to criticize the victim and not the suspects.

While politicians are living in an electric fence mansion without any threat so they don't experience such.
2198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Times when I visit casinos Versus When I don't on: January 14, 2023, 08:03:49 PM
It's best not to gamble when emotions are high and when you don't feel that you shouldn't gamble, trust your instincts because sometimes they're better to be trusted than to not.

And it's best to visit when you're neutral because being too happy isn't also good thus, this will make you impulsive because you'll be uncontrollable when experiencing such.

As a gambler, we should take into account that we've got only ourselves to blame if outcome isn't favorable.

My grandma passed away two days ago...
I'm sorry about that and condolences to your family.

The outbreak and spread of COVID-19 has had a great impact on the catering industry, tourism, transportation, etc. My family's catering did not persist and had to go bankrupt. It is a pity that I gave up on it.
Where are you from? In my area, since last year it's almost everything is back and up again. And one of the industries that's back and up is hospitality so that includes the catering business.

That's sad to hear that your family business went go bankrupt but I guess you're considering to be back again as most things are becoming normal and restrictions were loosen at least for many countries that has a huge percentage of vaccinated citizens.
2200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 14, 2023, 06:20:00 AM
I guess it's too early as there are no official news from Utah itself. Although Clarkson says he want to stay with the Jazz if given the chance, but we will see. Since they are still in the rebuilding phase and maybe thinking how to make the team better.

Luka showing his magic again with another triple double to boot with their double overtime win against the Lakers.

Good support from C. Wood, and Tim Hardaway, this is what Luka needed, Mavs that can bring offense and help him in the scoring load.
This is what the beauty of these rumors, despite having no official announcement, everyone is making and giving their opinions on what's good and bad potential outcome for such.
