2081  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: March 17, 2023, 09:37:08 PM
There were a lot of success stories about people that have changed their lives by having profits in bitcoin and through investing on it. Many have earned their bitcoins through various ways and there goes the most common way of having it through buying it.

Poverty is a big thing for most countries that are known can't tackle this problem. And there are rich countries as well but still have some bit of percentage of poverty through their citizens that lives far from the city.

Dealing with poverty is so hard and it shouldn't be just taken by the people who are on that line but also the government has to do something about it. It's not new that there are a lot of bitcoin holders that have been on that line until they believed that bitcoin is their life saver and it did when the price went up.

Financially, they've been in a better situation and dealing with it still will depend on the person that owns bitcoin. Because he may have bitcoin and seems to be financially free but, if he's not capable on it and doesn't have the financial education on how he will expand and retain that wealth, it will be useless because he might just spend all of his profits for nothing.

BUMP,There are only 5 days left. I am thinking of creating a paid event for that day. What do you think? Any thoughts?
What type of paid event are you thinking?

Well, the initiative you've made through this campaign have been very effective. And that's why I think that paid event will even garner more attention from the community.

Is it going to be related to this campaign or a trading competition? Nevertheless, that's for sure going to be participated by many that have been supporting bisq and this campaign you've made.  Cool
2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trust Wallet on: March 14, 2023, 08:20:10 PM
I know that there have been some strict rules in different states in the US regarding taxation. But why is it that it's making me feel that this isn't the right TrustWallet that you've downloaded?

Because if it's related to your taxes, any wallet don't have a thing or two to say and that's your responsibility on filing it. Why they're interfering with someone's taxation if they're not an auditing firm but just a bare wallet?

From your story, what was the exchange where you've transferred it from? And what's the website where you've downloaded TrustWallet? Because like they say above me, they wouldn't do such holding of funds and ask you to pay them.

It's a typical scam and how did the TrustWallet reached out to you?

Anyone interested to know if Team Liquid could have beaten Gaimin Gladiators in Lima Major should watch the current match between Team Liquid vs GG on DPC Spring Tour WEU. Boxi is now playing and both teams are complete and in good health.

Team Liquid is slightly favorite in this match according to stake.com with an odd @ 1.8. But we cannot really tell who will win between these two teams.
Team Liquid still lost against Gaimin Gladiator for 2 games. Even they are with boxi, still lost the match and that answers the thought during the Lima major of what if boxi was there with them.

But still, I'd believe that it will be a different result even if boxi was there on Lima major. We don't know, who knows? Both of the games that recently happened were seems to be easy for GG.

Everyone now wouldn't doubt how strong they are. Because there have been many watchers that are still doubting them, just like Tundra before they've won the aegis, maybe they're up to it next.
2085  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 12, 2023, 10:13:41 PM
As with these developments are optimistic, you just can't really beat the house. If AIs are being developed, for sure that there will be a counter measure being done by the casinos to avoid these high winning rates made by them.

They probably are anticipating this to happen and they'll do something for them to protect their business interest and possible abuse by those people that sees some gap to take advantage of with the use of this technology.

Still, at the end of the day, this technology is no Nostradamus and the house will always and will shall prevail. Soon, we might see threads about their experiences and winning rates with the help of AI technology.
2086  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: EXODUS + N.Exchange = SCAM | STAY AWAY on: March 10, 2023, 08:06:02 PM
I, also been using them for a long time but whenever I do swaps and exchange some assets there, I don't use any of their third party app because it doesn't really go well if they're just integrated to a wallet.

I think it's already out of Exodus' jurisdiction with your transaction as you're dealing and talking with a nexchange support staff. The problem is on them and basically the amount you've swapped with them probably triggered and caught you off guard even if you just want a refund.

On this case, it's hard to be prideful even if you don't want to comply with KYC but if it's your fund that's been held by any of these platforms, you can do nothing but to proceed and obey.

Just don't use them again.
2087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I succeed as newbie. on: March 09, 2023, 09:14:09 PM
Not to do

- Don't be too reliant on others decision like asking what coins you should invest and whatever is suggested to you, you'll take them, just no.
- Avoid those obvious too good to be true offers as they're likely a scam.

To do

- Believe in yourself that you'll eventually get there. The stairs might not be too easy and small but just initiate and do it.
- Keep researching and learning, everyone here is no perfect and we've got things that we still need to learn.
- DCA and buy bitcoin.
2088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 11:02:02 PM
I’m still not experiencing it but sounds fun at the same time to share experience of winning and losing with your friend. Do you guys do it?
It's fun because all you need to do is to gamble with their money and whatever will be the outcome of it, you're out of it unless there's a contract that you've got no escape and these friends are wanting insurance that you'll never lose.

But it's a gamble and they can never be assured if their money will be doubled or tripled or will gain some amount just as you gamble. And given with the situation of Adin, it's good that he's got that outcome but it won't be the same to all of us in here.

There could be really few that shall be going with the same path but the majority will have the opposite outcome for which the money of our friend's might just be gone.

Unfortunately, MEW does not have a desktop version, I still have to check TrustWallet.
MEW has got former teammates that built their wallet too and that's MyCrypto. They've made an article about it but I haven't used them for a long time but maybe this will help.

Grand finals for the Lima majors!

I've seen comments about boxi being out for Team Liquid due to health condition, those comments are telling that no boxi, there's no win.

But it seems that Jabbz(substitute, Team Liquid's analyst) is doing his thing in here and he won't be hired as their analyst if he's not good as a player.

Well, good luck to whoever wins this grand finals, Gaiming Gladiators versus Team Liquid. The game 1 has just started, this is a best of 5 series.

Count me in. I like the initiative you've made Husires and zwei for the contribution of the signature codes.

I'm wearing all stuff now.

When ame and faith_bian retires, LGD is no longer the same but still they're a favorite team but then yeah, someone has to go home.

Just a few minutes until the game starts.

They remained the favorite despite having new players because they were able to surprise us after dominating and nearly having a flawless performance in the Chinese qualifiers. Many thought that the other Chinese teams are the ones to dominate after Ame, Faith_bian, and XinQ aren't playing with PSG.LGD anymore. How I wish the team was complete in this Lima Major. Not saying Old Eleven is that bad, but the roster that was able to have great teamwork during the Chinese qualifiers would've fared better. Hopefully, in the next majors, we cannot see teams that are incomplete, especially visa issues which is too weird knowing these players had been playing in many different places for a long.
Well, these visa issues should come to an end and to solve this will be through Valve themselves. It's like giving them the passes to the players that are needed to go to the venue and they should come to help them.

As for the PSG.LGD and its old roster, it won't come back. Those players that have announced their retirement were already retired and it's very unlikely that they will come out of retirement.

Although I've seen those players that have come out of retirement and played again but most chinese players aren't like that, if they quit and retire, they do. But they can comeback as future coaches.
2093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your profit taking strategy? on: March 02, 2023, 10:06:54 PM
If you just want to settle with your profits then choose bitcoin after selling those altcoins and just keep it from there for a very long time if, you're a long term holder.

Otherwise, just convert it to a stable coin so that whenever a dip comes, you're prepared for it and you'll use it then eventually everytime you see an opportunity that knocks with some of those that's part of your choice to be added into your portfolio.

It might not that be encouraging sometimes but you'll get there and you just have to get used to that style.

Those that are eyeing for Team Liquid, we're all thinking the same guys. It seems that Team Liquid is going to be the champ of this Lima major but still too many things can change.
Hopefully, it goes smoothly for them as I have an outright bet on Team Liquid making it to the finals.  Wink
Less than a day that we have to wait until their match starts against the Shopify Rebellion (Former EG).

They were out drafted in the first map. EG banned almost all the best heroes of K1. On the second map, I think Beastcoast drafted well but still, EG is way better than them. Beastcoast is now eliminated from the game. EG will move on to face Aster next round in the Lower Bracket.
That aghanims shard, I think if BC's magnus took that there can be a lot of good plays that might turn the game against EG. But yeah, that's it the game ended in favor of EG and moving on the next bracket.

EG is the better team today.

Next game will be PSG.LGD vs Team Spirit. I was expecting these teams to be the favorite but one of them will have to go home after this series. I think Team Spirit is a better team but we cannot deny how dangerous PSG.LGD can still be. Another exciting game coming up.

2 Chinese teams are already surely out for the Dota 2 Lima major's group stages.
For group A --> Ehome
For group B --> Knights

Not much expectation from these two teams anyway. What I do not expect is Tundra, the defending TI champion, dropping into the 6th spot. And they can be eliminated if either TSM or Execration can sweep their next matches. TSM is against EG while Execration will be against team Spirit tomorrow. They are against strong teams but they can at least get a draw which will put them into a tiebreaker against Tundra. One fatal mistake and Tundra can be out of the tournament.
Well, Tundra is on the lower bracket and as Team Aster is the first team to go down to the lower bracket then they'll be against each other. So, it's gonna be Tundra vs. Team Aster.

And the second game's series has started and its first game was done and it took quite a while until its finish due to some minor issue but still it ended up a win for Entity against EG.

Those that are eyeing for Team Liquid, we're all thinking the same guys. It seems that Team Liquid is going to be the champ of this Lima major but still too many things can change.
2096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't consider yourself lucky on: February 27, 2023, 09:12:21 PM
I thought that this thread would remind that whoever is in profit right now, don't think that you're just lucky but an actual risk taker, believer that have went against odds and doubts of many before.

But I do agree with your reminder that if it's not yours, why even take it? Greediness is at its finest with that knowing that you're aware someone doesn't owe you anything.

And if a random stranger approaches you with screenshots of private keys and things, think that someone is giving away money then which is hard to believe these days.
2097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I've been scared to invest in bitcoin on: February 26, 2023, 11:13:58 PM
I know volatility is a natural thing that can happen to any investment. However, it will be good to address this issue because from where I come from people are scared of investing in bitcoin, they feel its risky. Personally,  I feel there should be an increased regulatory body which will help people like me not to be scared. There should be an improvement in bitcoin infrastructure, some of these wallet aren't even user friendly and also, there should a transparency in the market. I'm still learning about the best wallet to use as a newbie though.
You already said the keyword and you know it, volatility. There's no way a government body that will regulate it when it's decentralized and its value cannot be controlled by any authority.

What the regulator bodies can do is to monitor those companies that manages and allows the trades and transactions of it like what we're seeing with exchanges.

Those people that are scared of bitcoin's volatility are likely scared of any investment that bears risk. All investments are bearing risk even to the tiniest that it can.

My question is this, is it possible for bitcoin to be completely immune to volatility in years to come?
I've read someone said it that it's possible but it's unknown whether we still live by that time. But then for now, we should be the one to be immune with its volatility.

Both teams still has some remaining games for the last day but, it won't be enough for them to be saved.

It's hard to make bets on these best of two series'. That's why it's better to bet when the play offs is in and the group stages are done. That's where these teams are getting more serious than the previous matches that they've been.
Or wait until the last day of the groups since that's usually the time when certain teams need to step up as they can be one win or lose away from qualifying or getting eliminated.
Yeah, I still see a lot of my friends betting on this group stages and they're taking advantage of the high odds from the underdog teams which mostly are from the SEA region.

Geek Slate is doing pretty good and they're just about to beat Team Liquid on the game 1 despite that TL already in favor during the early game. I'm now a skem and kokz fan boy.

LOL! For real, their team is doing it props to the other members too.

First-day matches of Lima Major seem even and unpredictable.
I have already put it on my mind that all of these tournaments for tier/division 1 teams would always be unpredictable and that's where the excitement can really be found.

No early bets for now as the tendency of 1-1 are still very possible. I am just planning to bet on 2nd maps once those favorite teams lose their 1st maps. Maybe this is the safest while still observing.
